Quim's Introduction to the Merchants' Guild

SITUATION:

The new Chapter House of the Merchant's Guild has been opened and the new and very young Guildmaster Marla will introduce the scholar Quim to his jobs as a 'lackey' as he calls it and a 'handyman' as she thinks he will be, a clever handyman though.:) Some others are curious for the new House as well and they come in, the dancer Odessa and the Tower guard-trainee Sereno.

PERSONAGES:

Marla

You see a young girl (about 15 years), whose wavy waistlenght dark hair and copperly skin mark her Domani, as does her lenght (1.78m.). Though she's still young it's obvious that she will be a great beauty one day. Her big black eyes wander constantly through the place, taking in everything she sees. She usually smiles a pleasant open smile, except when she's angry or irritated. The smile gets a deeper dimension when she has a misschievous expression on her face. Her youth and expression mark her as very innocent.
The darkblue dress she wears can, by the thing clinging silk which shows nothing of her body but suggests every curve and smoothness of it, be clearly identified as Domani. Around her neck is a deeperblue black circle and from that twisted blue-going-to-black strings fall down to her middle and dissapear beneath the belt. This is all the adornation on it. The blackleather thing belt which surrounds her small waist is embroided with various pieces of mountaincristals which catch the light and make it dance and thus your eyes can't help but fall on them from time to time. Her small black shoes which peek from under the anklelong dress are made from the same material but have no adornation on them. The dress itself is enwrapped by a light lightlblue cape with the cap lying down beneath her hair. The cape falls loosely down to her knees and the sleeves reach only her elbows.
From under the place where the dark buttons connect under her neck falls a golden tiny necklace down to her chest. The article dangling on it is a silver and gold cymbol:
A golden leaf of the Avendolesdora and the golden figures of a Whitegolden Tower and a golden corn which depart at the underside of it. She usually moves in an elegant way, which seems sometimes a little daring and it's always like a dance. She swirrls around and greets you cheerfully.

Quim

Tall, about 6'3. Gaunt, hollow cheeks, deep set brown eyes that seems to burn with some inner fire, his pale lips are often curved in a wry or sardonic smile. His clothes are a uniform grey, the tunic being a hair lighter than the pants, which are tucked into dark leather boots. His brown hair is short cropped, combed neat, but it is obvious that the style serves no other purpose than to stay out of his eyes. His gait is an odd one, fluid at times and yet hesitant. his posture is straight yet his shoulders have a slight hunch to them. Qum's voice is a deep one, a surprisingly hearty healthy voice coming from such a gaunt man. He is more lean than skinny, reminding one at times of a coiled spring.

Odessa

Tall and lithe, this young woman has a more athletic figure than most her age. Looking to be around sixteen or seventeen years old, Dess has long raven-black hair that is usually wrapped in exotic braids about her head to keep it out of the way. Blue-green eyes flecked with gold dominate a pale, pretty face with angular features, high cheekbones and narrow lips made fuller with colour. Usually moving with an agile silence, this young woman has the look of a dancer or acrobat, every step placed with lithe surity. She seems pleasant enough, quick to laugh and easy to approach, though for the most perceptive there may be a feeling that part of this may simply be a continuation of her profession as a performer.
Odessa wears a simple wool dress worn in the Tarabon style, the fabric hugging her slim figure and long legs. No jewelry adorns her slim fingers, though a simple pair of sandals cover her feet.

Sereno

You see a young man who looks to be just over twenty summers. He stands no taller than average with a slim build. His large, almost hollow eyes and smooth, sallow skin do much to compliment the delicate features of his youthful visage, making him comely if somewhat sickly. He is far from frail, however, and the more perceptive will take notice of his vigor and swiftness of step. His jet black hair is worn long, hanging just below his collar.
Garbed in heavy leathers worn from use and dusty from travel, he seems much more a hard-edged sort than the delicate youth he might appear under ideal circumstances. Over a shirt of padded linen he wears a tunic of stiff, studded leather, several of the studs not quite matching the others and some missing altogether. His breeches are patched in several places and reinforced with padding at the knees and groin. His boots and gloves are worn and appear many-times mended. Only his sword belt appears to be in any shape worth mentioning, for even the short sword that hangs hangs from it has seen better days.

Setting: Outside Market: Merchant's Guild, Tar Valon

Small merchant stands and stalls line either side of a wide, cobblestone steet. Each one appears to be decorated to show who sort of wares that they are showing; food, clothing and other sorts of merchandise looking as if it will be displayed at some point in time. It appears to be fairly clean, and the plants and bushes that are allowed to stay within the area are well trimmed. It's almost as if someone takes great pains to make sure things are neat and presentable.
Birdsong echos through the air, as they greet the season of rebirth. Trees and bushes, with tiny flows, appear to start garnering their leaves and flowers. The sun can be seen high within the sky, showing that it's already mid-day. The street appears to be crowded, as people filter into the area, making certain to get the goods and wares they need. The cobblestoned path appears to lead you toward the house of the Merchant's Guild, or back to the streets of Tar Valon.

Quim enters the market from the mainstream of Tar Valon.

On the busy market place are small cabins full of merchants gathered. Marla is walking among them and talks then to this one and then to the other, obviously working things out and asking information. From time to time she glances at the gate to see the people coming in and thus she sees Quim enter. She inclines her head to him and then turns her head to the conversation with her old friend Jakko.

Quim makes his way into the Market, he haggles a bit heately with a young merchant, finally paying over a silver for a bit of jewelry, he sighs as if he felt he could have had a better deal, but maybe his heart wasn't in it, he spies Marla just as she turns away and heads in her direction "How goes it m'dear? Seems your doing quite the business."

Marla turns back around and grins at Quim, "Well, that comes with the job, don't you think so?" This last is also asked to Jako who smiles and nods, "True...And I like you being here, marla." it's evident he's still a victim of here and Marla smiles warmly at him before going off with Quim. Sticking one arm through his she asks, looking up at his face, "And what have you been up to?"

Quim glances over his shoulder as he nods to Jako, he turns to her, his brow furrowing a bit. "My usual, being good, being bad, staying alive, reading a bit, and wandering the streets. I actually came in search of you, to discuss joining the guild and if they are in need of my services, seems I am a bit hard up for money, books don't pay much."

Marla nods to that and taps thoughtfully with a finger against her lips, "Well, I've been thinking...I am in need of someone who can gather information...you know, someone whom I can send to places and inform people what they want and wether they have complainst etc."

Quim nods a few time, as he listens "Well I can do that. Sort of a courier slash messenger. Not beyond my abilites, how time consuming would it be? I still have my studies you know and I do like a bit of free time to myself, to enjoy whatever delights this city has to offer."

Marla laughs and exchanges some words with other merchants as they pass inside, "I know what you mean...and I will just call you up when I need you, it can take less and more time on differend weeks." she grins, "And I would like to read some books of you, to see wether we can seel them."

Quim nods "I will gladly provide, they on usual tend to be rather dry, but a few of them are gems or I think so. So how did you rise to head this place? You seem a tad young for the position."

Marla shrugs and says casually, "Oh..it's nothing, I just did it because I liked being here." She then laughs and shakes her head, squeezing his arm a bit, "I have been working on the guilds under Taeron and when he left they asked wether I wanted to become a candidat. The only other one was Roebert Gierst but /he/ definitely wasn't a good person."

Quim grins "Well you don't have to be a good person to lead well, as Artur Hawking showed, or sell well as many a merchant shows. but I am glad they chose you, I think you will do both yourself and the guild proud. And I think your age is deceptive."

Quim says "So are there any secret handshakes, or knocks associated with the guild? A certani protocol in dress or actions?"

Marla's eyes shine and her tongue slips out of her mouth, she nods to Quim with a misschievous smile, "Yes, my age is very deceptive at times." she chuckles amused saying this and then grabs her necklace with the sign around her neck and shows it him, "I have spelds of this sign so that the guildmembers can pin them up their dresses."

Quim grins "Does tha mean I have to wear a dress? I am not sure I can find one to suit me right off." He says, his tone light.

Marla brings her head up in her neck and laughs merrily, "NO!" she excliams still laughing but then lowers her voice, "For the women ofcourse, not for the men."

Quim winks "I thought not, but you never know what odd customs may come with it. Men wear viels in Taraborn." He grins, and says a tad shyly. "Well I would like to look a bit nicer for the job, do you know much about clothes."

Marla nods and takes his view in with alerted eyes, "I think I could tell you what to wear...but I won't pay them for you, but you will have to have a decent look ofcourse."

Quim nods "Well I will pay for them of course, I don't mooch, my life has been spent with books and ales, and the occasionaly uncouth lass, so my knowledge of the finer points of style is lacking. And if you current dress is any indication, you know how to enhance beauty wondefully, or in my case create the illusion of class."'

Marla cocks her head to him after having inclines her head in acceptance of the compliment, "Thank you Quim, it will be a pleasure to work with you."

Odessa enters the market from the mainstream of Tar Valon.

Quim nods and smiles at her. "Well I think I get the better of the deal, you get another something to worry about, I get money and a boss with a pretty smile." He shrugs. "So who is paying for all this." He points to the guild hall.

Odessa strolls in, a cloak across her back and a small harp under one arm.

Quim is walking along one arm captured but the young seeming beauty at his side, he seems in quite conversation with her.

Odessa pauses in her wandering, the small harp hugged to her chest as she looks around at the stands. "Boy!" she comments to herself, "Didn't think they'd be able to set up /this/ fast."

Marla smiles to these words, "Well, I like to get compliments so it's not all for you a good thing you will be part of it." She chuckles, "The taxes of the people of the city...but mainly the merchants and any repairs will be paued by the monthly dues." seh cocks her head at him, "YOu will have to do that as well." She then notices Odessa entering and smiles at her warmly, "Hallo, yes we did this pretty fast but it's good made though." she extends the hand which isn't around Quims, "I am Marla Shandal, the guildmaster."

Quim grins and offers up his own hand, after she has taken Odessa's "And I am Quim of Caemlyn, scholar extorodinaire and just hired lackey it seems, though I am not sure all the foramilities have been met."

Odessa cocks her head to one side, regarding Marla in surprise. "You? But... you can't be older than fifteen!" Blushing, she claps one hand to her mouth, and shakes her head. "Sorry for my indiscretion... I was just surprised, that's all."

"Odessa," the young woman says, nodding to Quim. "I'm a performer, from the Entertainers' Guild. I thought I'd come see our newest addition to the city."

Marla looks up into the sky for a moment, "The people who say that all the time" she sighs and then grins, showing she was kidding. She looks interested at Odessa, "I am just 16 and you really are an entertainer member? You must know my friend Nimma then." After having said this she turns her head up to Quim, "I will take care of the formalities later...you are an exception and I will ask you things."

Quim ndos "Be my guest, I actually know Nimma, I am afriad I scared the poor lass."

Odessa waits while Marla finishes up with Quim, then nods. "Sure, we've passed each other in the Hall, I think. Haven't performed together yet though. I've only really been with the Guild for about three weeks." She arches a brow at Quim, mouth quirking.

Marla says drily with amused glim in her eyes, "I have heard about you and her yes." she chuckles, "I must say she didn't please you much.

Quim glances at Marla "Oh? Has she been telling tales?'

Odessa stays silent for the moment, an amused smile on her face as she listens. But then remembers she has an appointment so after a greeting she leaves the place.

Odessa walks back into the mainstream of Tar Valon.

Marla nods and pouts her lips and smiles mysteriously at Quim, "Yes, she did..though I always prefer to hear both sides of the stories." she leans closer and her eyes widen innocently, "May I know your side?"

Quim quirks an eyebrow. "Well since you know her she is quite the flirt, and well I had had a few too many ales, so I kissed her, not much else to it." He smiles a tad in memory.

Marla raises her brows but nods, "Yes, she has her ways with men." she calmly states and then smiles slyly at him, "But I wonder wether you would not have kissed her if you hadn't drunken that ale?"

Quim shakes his head. "I can't really tell, she is a bit naive, I think I would likely have asked first. But she gave indication she obviously wasn't interested so I have moved on."

Marla blinks on those last words, "Moved on?" seh asks him surprised, "What do you mean with that?" she sounds confused,

Quim shrugs "A poor choice of words, they didn't convey what I meant, I merely meant I won't try it again." He rubs the back of his neck thoughtfully. "We all make mistakes no? Well was she too put out with me?"

Marla chuckles and ruffles through his hair for a moment, "You will have to learn to use your words in public better next time." she shakes her head amused and then looks amused at him, "I know she sais that after you had made it up to her you were friends again."

Quim grins "She didn't mind the kiss at all, it was the words afterwards she too offense to." He flushes in slight embarasment and futiley tries to striagten his hair.

Marla laughs at his problems with his hair and then reaches out to straighten his hair with more success than he had. She humms at his words, "What did you say to her then?"

Quim says "I said, and you remember I had those couple of ales, perhaps I can buy you a drink for you trouble and she took a lot of offense.""

Marla stops and slowly turns her head to him, her eyelashes lower, "What happened before then?" she inquires, "I doubt she took offence just from that."

Quim says "Well I kissed her, but she seemed to insinuate that I was trying to buy her attetion, she yelled at me about not being that kind of girl." he shrugs. "There is an old saying that a woman is like a moon, beautiful and breathtaking, but you are not quite sure why she is there.""

Marla nods fiercely and gravely, "Good girl...if you would have done that to me and I had taken the offer this way I would have reacted the same.." she pauses and looking him in the eyes she says seriously but also a bit amused, "But I would not have done this."

Quim glances down into her eyes, a smile narrow his gaze, his lips quirking up a tad, he asks a tad softly, one would say almost hesitantly "And what is this?" He has stopped and looks down her, his stance a tad unsure, his hand nerviously combing through his hair, but there is something of confidence in his movments.

Noticing his reaction Marla's smile becomes very deep, mysterious but most of all misschievous, "O nothing." she says innocently and turns around to go into the guild house. "I think you will have to find that out yourself." she adds amused while turning her head back to him and winks for a moment and then enters.

Marla pulls open the oak door, heading into the Guild House.

[Scene changes to the Entrance Hall: Merchant's Guild, Tar Valon]

Quim enters the hall in from the outside market.

Quim follows her in curiously "Um, I about those questions, if you are going to turn in, perhaps you can tell me when and whre you would like to ask them?"

Marla turns around and nods, giving him a smile, "I think now...if you have the time..and in there please."

Quim grins "You could ask for the sun, and if it would make you smile, I would see to it, even though it would likely melt me." He points to where she has indicated. "The door?"

Sereno enters the hall in from the outside market.

Sereno comes in, looking about...

Quim glances up and nods to Sereno, he seems to be following Marla, about, talking softly with her.

Marla nods to Quim, "Yes..in there that will make things a little bit less busy and I have the papers there." She then spots sereno and she blushes faintly for a second but then regains herself again, "hallo, how are you?" she asks him and walks over to him with extended hand.

Quim glances over his shoulder curiously, noticing her blush, but goes on into the indicated room.

Quim opens the door and exits the guild house.

Sereno clasps hands with her, smiling perhaps a bit too widely, "Doing well... though not as well as some.....

Marla inclines her head and grins, "You've heard?" she asks him and sways around, "Well, what do you think? Don't I look like a good business woman." with a wink she adds misschievous, "Domani business woman." she then motions with her head to the door, "Do you want to see more?"

Marla walks through the archway, entering the meeting hall.

[Scene changes to the Meeting Hall: Merchant's Guild, Tar Valon]

Sereno enters through the large archway.

Quim glances up and smiles at the arrival, and nods to Sereno, he is standing in the meeting hall looking around, trying to get a feel for the place.

Sereno nods, impressed, or seemingly so. "Very nice... I'm happy to see they have seen fit to accomidate you as well as you deserve...."

Marla smiles to Sereno, "Thank you sir...I am very glad ofcourse..though I have only just begun." She then goes to Quim, "well, what do you think of all this?" she informs.

Quim grins and smiles a bit. "It is all rather grand, it speaks wealth if you know what I mean, any merchant will come here and be impressed I think, but it still has a comfortable air about it, not all corners and lines, but some soft curves as well." He shrugs "What more can be said. As for these questions, might I ask their nature? Is it a test?"

Sereno looks from Marla to Quim and back, "Forgive me, did I interrupt?"

Quim shakes his head. "I am not the one to judge that, I came here to become a memeber of the guild."

Marla chuckles lightly and says drily, "I think that you won't interrupt, he just has to fill in some papers and ask me questions on stuff he doesn't undeerstand." She leans over a couch to grab the papers from a bag, "It considers the things you have done before, references and ofcourse the idea that you will obey the guild's rules." She hands them to Quim with a smile and then turns around to see Sereno, "And how have you been since last we met?"

Quim takes the papers and a quill and begins to fill them out, dipping the quill into a spare jar of ink when needed, a soft scribbling comes from his direction as he leaves the two in peace.

Sereno says "Keeping myself busy.... training at the tower... we all have our duties and ambitions... some more readily realized than others...."

Marla senses Sereno looks her over lewdly, his eyes drifting up to meet hers. It's obvious he meant for her to notice...

Marla leans over Quim's shoulder to point some things out while he writes the papers. "This means that you have the right for active and passive voting for the Great Council which will be held maybe in a half year to a year." She then turns her head over to Sereno and arches a faint eyebrow, "And which do you like best?"

Sereno says "Duty or ambition? One and the same more often than not...."

Quim nods his thanks to Marla, as he reads that, he grins "So where exactly do I sign my soul away? And how binding is it? Will I find myself being a foot rest?"

Marla laughs and grins, "Well, you will be asked not to work for other merchants and stay loyal to the guild, you will hve to pay monthly dues and have time in which you can work for me." She chuckles at Sereno's reply, "Yes, I agree."

Sereno says "So... when this business is concluded... might we have a few moments?"

Quim says "Yes, about those fees how much are they exacty?"

Sereno senses Marla looks back into his eyes as she plays idly with a string of hair, she obviously wonders what his eyes wanted to say and now she lets her eys go over his body, a teasing smile crossing her face.

Marla senses Sereno fixes her with a sly grin, his tongue slowly running over his lips as he looks her over, admiring the Domani cut of her dress, her delicate mouth, those startling Domani eyes....

Marla humms, "I don't know yet Quim, I will have to think about what's reasonable for everyone and have to calculate what members will do for the guild as well." She then nods and moves over to Sereno, "Sure." she mointions with her head to a corner, "That's my office more or less, what do you want to discuss?" she sounds amused but also curious. She turns her head back at Quim, swaying her hair, "Call me if you need help."

Quim nods "Will do." He ten goes back to his scrbiling and reading.

Sereno says "There's no rush.... and I was hoping for a more... intimate setting given the subject matter..."

Marla sighs but closes the curtain which hides the corner from the eyes of the few assembled in the hall, "I won't leave unless I've been given a good reason." she says drily amused.

Sereno whispers "Good reason? Hmmm... perhaps a good swat on your rear might suffice..."

Sereno senses Marla arches an eyebrow, "I really wonder that sir." being in her office she isn't an easy victim for sure, "What do you actually want?" she begins to arrange her flowers on the desc and glances at Sereno with wide eyes.

Sereno smiles, "You. The softness of your skin, the fullness of your lips, the richness of your hair, the sweetness of your nectar.... and even the venom hidden behind your lovely eyes...

Quim glances up a tad bemused as Sereno waxes eloquently, he glances at the two and says "I think I have finished, perhaps I should leave you to own nefarous devices."

After having heard these words Marla hears some one behind the curtain so she shakes her head sweetly at Sereno, "No sir." she goes to him with slightly steps, "You really have to be more...elegant." with that she opens the curtain and comes with a very amused smile into the hall, she shakes her head amused and then goes to Quim, "Nonsense, I don't want to be with him." she leans over and nods, "So you don't mind it when I ask you to tell me exactly what kind of business affairs you will do?"

Sereno chuckles, "Well... what can we say.... it would seem the exports of the Domani have fallen short of their reputation....

Marla turns around and shakes her head, "No, we stay true to your reputation that business is the thing we're best in." she moves slowly at him teasingly, "Many kinds at business."

Quim senses Marla winks with a misshievous smile at you, obviously having a great joke here.

Quim quirks and eyebrow and shakes his head. "Well I would say that I will do pretty much anything, within dignity, of course. If I feel the money is worth the effort. But perhaps you could be a bit more specific. I can take care of your books, be a messenger, a fool, a sinner, but people rarely pay for the last."

Sereno says "Indeed... a pity I'm a soldier and not a peddlar..."

Marla senses Quim watches with some amusment, a slight glint in his eye, as it flicks between her and the fellow.

Sereno turns smartly on his heel, making his way out...

Sereno walks into the entrance hall, through the large archway.

Marla laughs merrily to Quim's words, "True...you only end up beaten." she sighs as Sereno leaves, "Too bad indeed, with help he could be a very good merchant."

Quim say, his tone wry. 'You do have some intersting friends, yes I think he could have, he has a very nice way with words, and is obviously a handsome lad. Use to getting his way, all good traits for the sellers of goods, The trick to selling something is to covince someone of something and then convince them it was their idea. An art women mastered long ago."

Marla turns her head to him and nods to him with a smile, "Thank you for that...though some men are good in it too." she leans closer to him, "Do you want to be taught?"

Quim quirks and eyebrow and nods, as she leans close. "My dear lady, learning is what interests me most. After all I am scholar. I had never thought it a talent that could be taught, but you have definitely caught my interest." He rubs his chin, a ghost of a smile on his lips.

Marla laughs at those words and then chuckles amused, "I will learn you...and this is your first lesson." She leans even closer and whispers in his ear, "Never go too far when you just start negotiations, you shouldn't show you're very eager to buy." she chuckles misschievously at those words, and kisses his cheek lightly as a butterfly, "But I'm sure you know."

Quim grins in a way that one would almost call shlyly, his hand moving up to touch the cheek that was bestowed, a light in his eyes. He nods a bit as he tries to find something to do with his hands, maybe a bit nervous or maybe just trying to appear so. "I have heard it told, but it is not always an easy task. When you see something you want so often eagerness is hard to control, or must be masked with another emotions." He grins "I am sur practice will help."

Marla nods and leans back, "I know..." she suddenly chuckles, "And revenge is also something I would like to do now....that's something else, letting them feel they got you and then...you run off with the profit." she grins and it's obvious she means something else than business here.

Quim quirks an eyebrow. "Revenge? That is a dangerous thing, it can consume you. But for every revenge one must have his or her tools, and might I ask what yours are?"

Marla shrugs eloquently, "I will only use revenge if I want it..I just want to tease people." she turns drily to Quim, "YOu should be glad Nimma didn't ask to take revange on you." She goes slowly to the door and uses a Domani-way of walking, "Oh, just my natural gifts." she answers his question nonchalant and then leaves the room.

Marla walks through the archway, going to the entrance hall.

[Scene changes back to the Outside Market: Merchant's Guild, Tar Valon]

Quim enters the market from the guild house.

Quim makes his way to the door and asks "Well am I then done?" He says, his head peaking out of the hall.

Marla grins and slowly walks back, "Here....your pin." she pins the beautifull sing on his vest and nods satisfied and then smiles at him and kisses him on the cheek again, "Welcome to the guild." she welcomes him warmly.

Marla walks back into the mainstream of Tar Valon.

[Scene changes back to the Alindrelle Square: Tar Valon, Tar Valon]

Quim enters the mainstream of Tar Valon, exiting the grounds of the Merchant's Guild.

Quim grins at the kiss "Well if the kiss comes with the welcome I wish I could be welcomed into the guild more often." He holds the pin up to the moonlight, glancing at it. "I do hope Nimma won't be held against me for too long."

Marla smiles to these words, "I'm sure she won't...she says you're friends again...but I would not try to kiss her again." she grins saying this and then chuckles, "YOu will be welcomed here when you habe done good work."

Quim nods "Well I won't try to kiss her again, she didn't have quiet the reaction that encourages furthe exploration." He takes the pin and adds it to the lapel of his jacket. He turns to her. " So how will I hear of my work? A note, or shall I have to stop by occasionally to see the roster?"

Marla nods to the first thing, "A note...that will surely do the work." she then grins, "But I wouldn't mind if you came here and ask for missions so that I wouldn't have to look for you."

Quim nods and says "Well I think I will stop regularly, just to see what new members you have, look how the building is progressing, and to talk to you of course. It has been an very interesting day, one of the few I have had in a long while, and for which I thank you, I will have to stop by and bring you my famous honey bread, one of my hobbies cooking. Not a very manly exploit I know, but a man's got to eat."

A dreamy expression crosses Marla's face, "Ahh, honey bread. I love that." she then turns to Quim and smiles warmly at him, "Don't worry, I think it's fine when a man can cook...I can't." she admits this rather drily,

Quim shrugs "Well you can't be good at everything now can you. While we are listing my other unmanly qualities I write poetry and read them, but other then that I tend to drink and carouse with the best of them, though not recently. It is expensive, no wonder you only see the noble lads doing it regularly. But that about somes up my talents. The rest is given to studying and trying to make ends meet while having a good time." he shrugs and bumps into a passerbye and excuses himself with an apology, though he still gets a dirty look.

Marla shakes her head as an amused woman who sees another one of those men do something stoupid while trying to show off. She takes his arm though and chuckles, "I don't mind these qualities, you might read me one of your poems then."

Quim blinks and shakes his head a couple of times. "I really don't think so, only if I am drunk, do I started going into verse. So if you get a few in me, perhaps you will be assualted with my poetry, but other then that I think I will spare you." He glances around slightly bemused as the walk along "Might I ask where we are headed?"

Marla smiles and points at the inn from which they can now see the roof, "Over there..I want to go take a bath and then go sleeping."

Marla enters the gate to the Flaming Arrow Inn to arrive at:

[Scene changes back to the Stable Yard: Flaming Arrow Inn, Tar Valon]

Quim comes into the Stable yard via the gate from the street outside.

Quim nods "Sounds like a plan I make take for myself, It has been a long week, and a nice copper tub and me, some steam, and a few spare hours will do me good."

Quim grinning opens the door for the lady and motions for her to precede him.

Marla chuckles and nods, "Agreed, well see you." with this she runs up the stairs.
