---------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a short outline of a plot that will be happening within the near

future. The date and time depends on the particular parties this plot was

designed for will be online.

Jacim, one of the ones who attacked Lady Adelina, favorite for the Cairhienin

throne, during the night of the Entertainer's performace, will be escaping.

The guards will be informed first as to when he escapes, then a bbpost will be

created to announce his escape across Tar Valon, and alerting the Children of

Light. Jacim will be found within one of the outlaying villages where the

Children are patrolling and held before Adelina outside of the city, tried and

convicted.

There are several reasons why the Children are handling Jacim and not the

guard. None of them have to do with the guard and their effectiveness as a

group. Any of the guard is more than welcome to join in the search for Jacim,

just so long as he still gets into the hands of the Children of Light. This

plot was designed to bring the group more into the eyes of the

players/characters and hopefully get more people active within. Since Jacim

will be held outside of the city, he will be outside of Tar Valon laws.

When I get a more definite outline of the plot handy, I will send it out to

keep everyone informed.

Subject: A matter of jurisprudence (long)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following is a _lengthy_ discussion on the issue of legal jurisdiction of

Tar Valon. For those of you who are not involved in the TP of the escape and

capture of the assassin Jacim by the Children of the Light, then this is a

more general discourse on the topic.

One issue, and a rather important one that comes up here, is the matter of

jurisdiction, and precisely who has claim over what and where. For this TP,

the assumption that Tar Valon does not protect nor hold sway over the outlying

areas that are immediately around the city is illogical. These villages are

often the ones that supply the city with the food that sustains the city. To

say that the Children of Light are free to do as they will outside the walls

of Tar Valon, would be saying that the villages which rely on Tar Valon are

not considered important.

Tar Valon may not be a nation, but it -is- a city-state. No city is fully

autonomous in and of itself, because the task of growing food cannot be

undertaken within the city. Hence, it is not only reasonable, but necessary to

assume that Tar Valon extends under its aegis those surrounding villages and

homesteads including ones such as Alindaer Village and Daghain Village. This

protection nominally places them within the boundaries of Tower Law, so

fugitives found within these protected areas would be returned to Tar Valon

for justice. To assume that any foreign nation, military or independent group

may assert juristiction so close to the White Tower permits said groups a

large writ to freely incarcerate anyone immediately outside the city wall --

for whatever reason. I simply cannot see this happening.

That having been said, I concede that this does not mean that groups, such as

the Children of the Light, will not necessarily respect this. But, as Cuen

philosophy goes, IC actions will have IC consequences. If the Children attempt

to hold a Tar Valon fugitive, they will be asked to return him, and barring

that, will be told to return him, as Tar Valon would not recognize the

Children's jurisdiction outside of Amadicia. (Note the word 'official'. We all

know they have much unofficial influence over regional 'justice'.)

The effect on this particular TP will be that if the Children hold a fugitive

that they have no claims on and has escaped from Tar Valon custody, they will

be required to remand him to the Tar Valon Guard. Cairhienin claims must go

through Tar Valon channels to request extradition, and to assert their own

justice. This will ultimately be the decision of the Amyrlin Seat. If the

Cairhienin attempt to circumvent this process by co-operating with the

Children of the Light, they will be thwarting Tar Valon justice and

(in)directly contesting the authority of the Amyrlin and Tar Valon law, in her

seat of power no less. Such an event would have grave political ramifications.

Is this the desired effect?

I would suggest that the TP be reconsidered, or that the prisoner Jacim

manages to escape a considerable distance from Tar Valon, where Tar Valon

authority cannot said to be in place. In such a case, though the Tar Valon

fugitive may have escaped custody, no fault can be made by the Cairhien claims

on his body because he would be, in effect, 'free game'.

I invite discussion, either here or in e-mail, if this is too long, at:

In regards to Renimar's letter, he is right when he says that the villages may

fall into Tar Valon jurisdiction. Therefore I believe the plot, as it is,

should be altered in order for it to continue, which I'd rather see than

completely throwing it out the window.

Rather than going to one of the outlaying villages, Jacim instead heads toward

one of the main roads, where he is found by the Children of Light traveling

away from the City. From there, it is the Children's choice what they wish to

do with Jacim, including killing him, giving him to Adelina as a present or

turning him over to Tar Valon for sentencing.

On the flip side of things, remember that the Guard would have to ICly

discover whether or not the Children even had Jacim. They have made people

disappear before within the middle of the night without a trace.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It seems in the midst of the night, there was some commotion within Tar Valon,

though it was not discovered until early the next morning. The would-be

assassin, the one that was being held for the attempt on Lady Adelina's life

during the Entertainers' Guild performance for the White TOwer, has escaped.

That's right, escaped. Word is, several of the guards were found unconcious,

but not harmed, by the cell which housed this most dangerous man.

People all around are warning one another to be on the look out for this man,

though the question is, can they find him?

(Overheard at the Flaming Arrow)

Two Children of the Light sit at the bar and talk just loud enough so that

they're voices can be heard throughout the room.

"Did you see what happened the other day to that assassin?" Child Obaert says.

The other shakes his head, "No, what happened. and what assassin?"

"The assassin was the one who escaped from Tar Valon. He had tried to kill a

noble from some Cairhien house. Well, he was hung. The noble he tried to kill

was there as well and just watched him die."

"Good. It was about time someone showed that scum the Light."

"I agree. It seems the Children did something those witches couldn't, or

wouldn't do. Dispense justice."

Having said what they obviously wanted to say and having finished their

drinks, the two Children get up, pay their tab and leave, ignoring any

reaction they may have

========================================================================

-- Begin log --

Adelina gives a small nod, talking to Sydnia, "I've had a good day, despite some small problems."

Sydnia raises one perfect eyebrow as she studies Adelina, her eyes sparkling. "Small problems? What sort? I do hope you were able to positively resolve them."

Entering the common room on quiet feet, a uniformed officer of the Guard steps in. Dusting his boots at the door, a habitual gesture, he quickly scans the room with a discerning gaze, as if searching out for something. Or someone. The sparkle of silver and a distinctive hair style reaches out and grabs him, so he heads towards it. Approching her, he bows his head, and in a formal voice, "Lady Adelina, if I might have a word with you a moment?"

Adelina rolls her eyes slightly, "Just Lord Nobreon again, you understand I am sure." She blinks, attention drawn elsewhere and looks over the guard, "Of course," She looks over the outfit a guesses, "Captain. Where to?"

Sydnia nods slightly to Adelina, looking Renimar over quietly, a sweet pout on her lips.

Ashlynn's eyes travel away from Yurinar to the grouping within the room. A brow lifts casually as she takes in the sight of the Guard Captain and Adelina, an inquisitive expression coming over her features.

Renimar's lips quirk at the title he addresses him. "Lieutenant, Lady Adelina. Or Lord Renimar, if you prefer. My eyes do spot a free spot by the fire, if you will?" To Sydnia he offers an apologetic smile and an incline of his head. "Forgive me, my Lady for intruding on your conversation. But I am afraid I have a matter of some importance to discuss with Lady Adelina."

Sydnia nods to Renimar politely.

Adelina nods, "Of course, Lieutenant. Lord Renimar." She moves to follow him to the table.

Renimar moves to a table by the fire and, with a gentlemanly gesture, moves a seat and holds it for Adelina to sit before moving about the other side and seating himself down. A slender book appears from his pockets, as well as a slim and sharpened stick: a pencil.

Ashlynn quirks a brow at Yurinar, shaking her head. She murmurs, "No."

Adelina sits down when the chair is pulled out for her and smiles at the young Lord across from her. She delicately folds her hands in her lap and watches. Her eyes are masked, though her smile is just as bright as it was for Sydnia, if not a tad brighter.

At your table, Renimar clears his throat as he sits perfectly straight in his seat. Professional at work here. "Perhaps I should explain why I am here, Lady Adelina. Doubtless by now, you know of the assassin Jacim escaping from the cell with outside assistance. I have been been busy of late attempting to locate him, lest he strike again."

At your table, Adelina nods slowly, back straight as well. She raises her hands to rest them on the table, "I thank you for your efforts, as I am sure the rest of Tar Valon did as well. Did you ever find who helped him escape?"

At your table, Renimar grimaces slightly, loathe to admit his failure to apprehend the conspirators. "I'm afraid not, my Lady. Not yet. Who ever they were, they were very slick. I've made the dungeon patrols much more stringent, though. Having criminals escape hardly speaks well of the Guards. But, I digress. As a guest of the Tower, we have been making attempts to ensure your protection."

At your table, Renimar leans forward on the table, voice dropping slightly. "However, we have received reports that the Children of the Light may have captured him escaping the city. Other reports say he was hung, and that Children came into Tar Valon and bragged about it. I was wondering if you, perhaps, knew anything of that?"

At your table, Adelina nods, "Yes, I know of it. The Lord Captain sent me a letter through some sources and told me they'd captured him outside Tar Valon. I was there when he was hung, so that is true as well. I do not know of them coming into the city and bragging, but I would not put it against them."

At your table, Renimar takes up his pencil and opens the slender book to a free page and jots notes in a flowing script. "I see." he says, with a firmly neutral look. "I must ask for details, you understand. I do hope you will oblige me." He glances up from his notes and flashes her a smile, one that warms his professional demeanour slightly; even leaning towards the young rogue that he once was in the heyday of his youth.

At your table, Adelina nods, "Of course. Ask your questions so we can both be about our business."

At your table, Renimar nods as he pauses a moment to form his questions. "This Lord Captain, did he mention in his note why he summoned you from the city beyond that they had captured the assassin? Did they say exactly where?"

Mather shuffles in hunched over the pile of books he clutches to his mid-section so that his height is less obvious. The scarecrowy man's head swings back and forth a few times as he eyes all the patrons for a moment before shuffling towards a secluded table taking great care to avoid attention.

At your table, Adelina gives a small shake and pulls out a letter, reading it, "This is what it says:

This letter is sent with the intent to inform you, Lady Adelina of House Tiigril, that the one who made an attempt on your life has been recaptured by the Children of the Light. You are invited to see justice served. If you recquire, the captive can be handed over to you so long as justice is met. As long as the Light s will is fulfilled, the means matter not.

Lord Captain, Televan.

"I hope that helps."

At your table, Renimar takes the latter with slim fingers, if calloused, and reads it over carefully, his visage smoothed. Twice, and thrice it is read over, and then some more notes are jotted into his book. "I see. As you said you were there, perhaps you could tell me where this hanging took place? I imagine not far, if this took place recently."

Mather blinks staring wide-eyed at Yurinar for a moment before he manages to pull his eyes off the large man. He sets his books down gently on top of the Wide stone hearth and takes a seat.

Yurinar laughs softly at a comment made by the woman sharing his table, "Aye, ah don't suppose ye would. How do ye think ye'll fare the voyage?"

At your table, Adelina says "It took place in the outskirts of their camp. Not terribly far from here."

Ashlynn quirks a brow at her Gaidin, shrugging her arms, "I am not certain, but feel it is worth a try" Her eyes continue to glimmer almost gleefully, for some odd reason or another. Her lips appear to quirk upwards in a mysterious smile. The man's frame before her does not seem to bother her in the slightest, however large it may be.

At your table, "I see," Renimar nods quietly, tapping his pencil on the pad making a few dots. "Could you tell me what Lord Captain Televan said, when you arrived? It says in his note that they would turn him over to you for 'justice'. As you said there was a hanging... who ordered it, in the end?"

Yurinar chuckles, "Well this time ye'll 'ccept th'better of th'rooms if ah have t'lock ye in there m'self."

Ashlynn smirks slightly, "I'll not."

At your table, Adelina thinks then answers slowly, "I allowed him to hang him. He'd already confessed by the time I got there.

Mather is attention is divided between Ashlynn and Yurinar and a book that lays open before him with a detailed illustration on one of th epages. He continuously looks back and forth.

Yurinar's smile braodens as if the large man is enjoying the arguement, "Aye, ye will. 'Fter all, ye would no make me sleep in one of them small rooms that ah could no 'ven fit in would ye?

At your table, Renimar makes a brief scratching as he nods his head once more. Glancing up he offers the Cairhienen woman another small smile, to soften the nature of his duties here. "I do thank you once more, Lady Adelina, for answering my questions. Just a one or two more, and I will be on my way. I need to have a complete report for this case. You allowed them to hang him, with you consent? Watched him die? What did they do with his body afterwards? I may need it as proof should I be questioned."

At your table, Adelina nods, "Of course I gave them my consent. And yes I watched him die. They left him hanging there for a while then cut him down. I assume they buried him. But I do not know. I left to have some dinner with my brother directly after." She ate dinner after that? This woman is nuts.

At your table, "Dinner?" Renimar repeats curiously, as if finding it difficult to believe. "I see. Well, hopefully I will not need to find the body if you have confirmed him dead. One last thing, was there anyone else there, beyond Children of the Light? Did you go with an escort?"

At your table, Adelina nods, "I was there with my brother, and three of my guards, of course."

Yurinar dismisses his inquiry with a simple wave of his hand and a warm chuckle, "Mayhap ah'll tell ye why ah 'sked 'nother time, but now ah've a need t'get back t'the yard.

Ashlynn nods her head slightly, "As do I the TOwer."

At your table, Renimar murmurs the details to himself as he writes down them down, idly flipping a page and continuing on. "Well," he says looking up finally, "I think I have the details I need, Lady Adelina. Let me thank you once more for your forthcoming answers and cooperation in this matter. I do apologize again for interrupting your conversation, but duty compelled me. I do hope you'll understand." He shuts the book and begins putting it away when he lifts the letter from the Lord Captain. "If I may ask, may we hold onto this letter? This is the only proof we have, since the body cannot be recovered, and as you know, the Children are unlikely to assist us."

Yurinar rises from his table and tosses a few coppers upon it to cover the cost of the meal, drink, and gratuity. He tilts his head toward the door, "Ready then?

At your table, Adelina nods, "Of course, though..." She pulls out another letter and hands it forward, "This was the one they sent to say he had confessed. And when they would hang him."

Diar comes down the wooden stairs from the second floor.

Maeve comes down the wooden stairs from the second floor.

Ashlynn inclines her head, "Verily" She rises from her chair and moves to Yurinar smoothly.

Ashlynn stands leaves the Small Table Near Fire.

Gliding down the staircase with his companion besides him, Diar takes a momentary encompassing look at the patrons within the inn before taking a turn and settling himself down at the nearest table. A motion of his hand draws attention of a serving woman, as his vague smile shows little of what he's thinking. As the woman arrives at the table he makes his order, "A glass of wine, and some cider for the lady. Finally vacating the premises."

The elder Warder spares a glance for the pair of patrons descending the stairs and newly occupying a table before his dark blue eyes return to the Aes Sedai at his side. He nods to her before starting for the door

Dressed in garb suitable for travels, Maeve follows Diar down the stairs, pausing only a moment to let grey eyes brush over the room in a casual, disinterested manner before heading towards the booth he picked out. Adjusting the angle of the knife at her belt, she slides into it opposite of him, settling back to give the room another cursory study.

At your table, Renimar blinks and reaches slowly for the other letter. "It is? Hm." He peruses the contents as well, and nods slowly once more. "I see it does. Well, it would appear that Jacim is quite dealt with. You have been most helpful." He smiles, putting away his book and the two letters. "For your troubles, may I purchase you a drink before I go? I owe you that much, at least."

At your table, Adelina smiles rather charmingly, "If you wish to buy me a drink, I insist that you sit and drink with me as well, Lord Renimar."

At your table, Renimar chuckles softly and even breaks into a small smile. His professional demeanour seems to have gone away with the book he had brought out to start the interview with. "Of course, my Lady, 'twould hardly be much of a drink otherwise." He hails a server and gives his order; mulled cider. "I _am_ on duty, I must keep my wits about me." He says by way of apology.

At your table, Adelina nods and looks at the server, ordering a wine, red, then looks back at the young Lord, "So, Lord Renimar, Andorian I assume? What has brought you to being what you are, a Guard Lieutenant in Tar Valon?"

At your table, "Andoran indeed," Renimar replies with a nod to her accurate observation. "My story here is long and fraught with details," he says deliberately in an off-handed manner, "But it is tradition in my family to send the children to study at the Tower for one year. I chose to stay and continue training as a Warder; but I found a role for myself serving in a larger capacity, as a Guardsman for the city."

Maeve smiles faintly, nodding to some quiet words spoken by her companion. She mutters to Back Corner Booth, "... and... packed and... as... Or... think." Her last words are added with a wry quirk to her lips, though her expression betrays her as faintly absentminded, those grey eyes straying more often than not, brushing both once and twice over the room.

Mather stands leaves the Wide Stone Hearth.

At your table, Adelina listens with interest, "That is interesting. I am thinking of sending my children to the Tower to train as well. I have only been a guest, but I must know, is it as valuable an experience as it looks?"

At your table, Renimar smiles to the server as the drinks arrive. She hands the server a pair of coins and stills her hand as she goes to make change. She wanders off with a smile as Renimar turns back to Adelina. "Your sons, if any, shall get a most vigourous training from the best warriors around, and discipline. They'll sleep in tight quarters and work from dawn 'til dusk. It's difficult, but well worth it, I believe. In terms of scholarly works, the Tower boasts the largest library in the Known World. Even," he says with a sly smile, "than the Royal Library of Cairhien. Or so the Brown sisters say."

At your table, Adelina smirks slightly, "Maybe I should make my brother go through training. He could use some discipline. But oh well, we are leaving for home in a few days. If I have sons I will be sure to send them."

At your table, Adelina takes the drink and sips on it carefully.

At your table, Renimar lifts the goblet of mulled cider and sips gratefully, soothing his dry throat. "Your brother, if promising, could do very well indeed at the Tower. But, as you say, you are leaving, but should he be interested, I would suggest he speak with a Warder ere departing. Just in case."

At your table, Adelina smiles, "My brother has some promise, and he is very good with a sword. I've seen him best his teachers. And he's only seventeen summers old." She takes another sip.

At your table, Renimar smiles at that number, as he sips perhaps half the cider before laying it down. "'Twas roughly the age I was sent to the Tower myself. My Lady, it has been a pleasure sharing a drink with you. I fear, though, that duties do call me, despite the hour, but I must answer. Please, do stay and enjoy your drink." With that, he stands from his seat and makes a shallow bow to her. "May the Light shine on you, Lady Adelina," he intones the ancient benediction.

At your table, Adelina gives her head a small nod, "Of course. I hope to see you again, Lord Renimar."

Renimar stands and bows slightly to Adelina, murmuring something before turning and departing the common room.

Subject: IC: Sealed to the Flame

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following letter comes in written on standard paper and folded in

thirds. What is unusual about it, is the fact that across the back is

written 'Sealed to the Flame: Amyrlin Seat or Keeper of the Chronicles only'

and doubly sealed with the crest of a the Tar Valon Guard, and again with

the personal sigil of Renimar Hune.

To: Amyrlin Seat, Watcher of the Seals, Flame of Tar Valon

In the course of my investigation of the escaped assassin Jacim, I have

unearthed some disturbing information. For some days now, reports and

rumours have been heard and brought to my attention that Jacim was

captured by the Children of the Light stationed outside Alindaer

Village. Recently, in the Flaming Arrow Inn, some of the Children have

been heard bragging that they had 'dispensed justice' and hanged him.

Reports also have claimed that the intended target, Adelina of House

Tiigril was present.

Yesterday, I interviewed Lady Adelina about this matter. I asked her if

she knew about these rumours. She wholly confirmed that the Children, under

one Lord Captain Televan, had captured Jacim as he fled Tar Valon. They

then issued an invitation to Lady Adelina to witness the execution of this

known criminal at the Children camp outside Alindaer Village. Lord Captain

Televan offered Lady Adelina the criminal on the grounds that she immediately

have him put to death. Seeing that Jacim was already captured, she gave her

consent to have him hung then and there and proceeded to watch until Jacim

was pronounced dead. I have in my posession two letters from Lord Captain

Televan to Lady Adelina inviting and informing her of Jacim's capture

and imminent execution, meaning that Lady Adelina was informed well in

advance.

A grave injustice has been dealt to the city of Tar Valon and to the Amyrlin

Seat. Not only have two foreign parties participated in the capture and

execution of a known Tar Valon fugitive of their own accord, they did so

within sight of the Shining Walls of Tar Valon itself. As you well know,

Mother, Alindaer Village, along with the many farms and lands immediately

about the city are both under the protection and juristiction of Tar Valon

law. To allow this execution to go unanswered, invites further violations of

Tar Valon authority. I recommend with the strongest possible manner, that

these two parties not be allowed to simply walk away from this insult. The

Children must learn that they are tolerated, but not in charge here. Lady

Adelina must learn that, although she is nobility, she is a guest of the city

- of the White Tower and the Amyrlin herself, no less - and she is as bound as

the rest of the citizens and guests to obey the law. As per the law, I

recommend she be arrested and held for the obstruction of proper Tar Valon

justice, that Lord Captain Televan be held accountable for his role in this,

and arrested and that the Children of the Light ordered, or made, to depart

Tar Valon territories immediately.

I urgently await for the proper warrants and writs to carry out true Tar

Valon justice, for I have been informed that Lady Adelina intends to depart

for Cairhien within 3 days.

In the service of the Light and the Tower,

Lord Renimar Keth Hune

Lieutenant of the Tar Valon Guard

A visit from a Child... Thu Mar 19 Raemira

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It seems the Amyrlin's office was busy the other day. Rumors and whisperings

abound. The most recent surrounds the visit of the Lord Captain of the

Children of Light; Televan.

"Did you hear?" An Accepted sniffs.

"Hear what?" Another speaks as she scrubs at the floors, attempting to remove

a stain.

"About the Lord Captain that came to speak with mother the other day. He was

acting all high and mighty." The first appears to be dusting the various

cabinets and tables lining the hallway.

The second sniffs, "High and mighty eh? Bet he thought he was gonna just march

right in and demand to arrest her, huh?" She continues to scrub, grumbling

under her breath 'out damned spot, out' -or- something close to it. It seems

the effects happening about the Tower still effect the Accepted and Novices

just as strongly as they do their chores.

The first Accepted chuckles, "I heard from Bessa, who hear from Kiely, who

heard from Megan that there was yelling coming from the office at one point,

and that the Amyrlin demanded retribution for -something- he did. Imagine

that, the Children committing crimes in Tar Valon...." She lets her voice

trail coyly, though she too seems to scowl as the dust refuses to be dusted.

The second pauses her work, seeing as how it's not doing anything in the first

place, "So what happened....?" her eyes are widened at the thoght of

'retribution' from mother.

"I hear she told him to get out and get out fast. It'll be a cold day in

Shayol Ghul before any of the Children are allowed back here again I bet." The

first seems rather pleased with that prospect, pausing in her dusting as well."

A sound comes from behind the two, "And it'll be a cold day in Shayol Ghul

before you ever set foot outside if you don't stop gossiping and get on with

your chores" The voice of a Red sister who just -happened- to wander in and

put a stop to the conversation.

OOC: Sorry this has taken me awhile to write. When I roleplayed the scene with

Televan and Adelina, it was rather late and I did not think to send any

information on.

IC:

This letter arrives to Lt. Renimar of the Tar Valon Guard, bearing the

personal seal of the Amyrlin Seat. It also bears arnings that only the Lt. may

handle the letter's contents.

Lord Renimar-

I am writing to inform you of my decision regarding Lord Captain Televan of

the Children of Light. He and all his forces have three days to extract

themselves as far as fifty miles from the Tar Valon border. On any occassion,

not more than five children may be granted access to the city, nor be within

fifty miles of the city. I do not tolerate justice being taken away from the

Tower or Tar Valon. As an example, I also wish for you to make certain Lord

Captain Televan makes his public apology, which he and I have already

discussed. Either Osendrelle Square or Alindrelle Square will suffice. Public

notices are to be put up announcing the apology will be made for his actions.

You may divy that duty to whomever you please.

In regards to Lady Adelina, retribution to her involvement has been satisfied,

and she has returned to Cairehien with my blessing. There is more reason

behind this than you shall know, though wanted you aware that she is to be

treated with respect should she ever return to this city. As myself, she is

young and has much yet to learn.

By order of Raemira Sedai, Amyrlin Seat, Watcher of the Seals, Flame of Tar

Valon

A Child's apology Mon Mar 23 Televan

Two maids are heard conversing in Wil's Tavern during a lull in business. One

is tall and has long brown hair. She absently wipes at the same spot on the

bar. The other is shorter and has blond hair. This one idly sweeps the same

spot over and over again as the two converse.

"Sandra, be you at that big gathering the other day?"

Sandra shakes her head, "No, I had to stay and help out at here, Lynda. Not

that I was needed, It seemed everyone was at that gathering besides me."

Looking questioningly at Lynda and asks, "Was it true that one of those

'cloaks actually apologized there?"

"Aye Sandra, that were the whole reason for the gathering." Giving a small

giggle she continues, "You wouldna believe it. The 'cloak was even a Lord

Captain. He stood up there in front of the crowd and apologized, actually

apologized for taking the law into his own hands. I think it had something to

do with that assassin the 'cloaks caught and executed." She gives a shrug as

if it doesn't really matter and she giggles again at the thought of a 'cloak

actually apologizing.

Sandra shakes her head, "I wish I could have seen it, I doubt that it will

ever happen again. I be shocked that it even happened in the first place."

Lynda comments, "Aye, I do no think you will ever see something like that

again. I be no sure if would want to. That 'cloak made my skin crawl. He was

so cold, he spoke with no emotion at all in his voice and his face looked to

be carved from stone. Oh, but his eyes, the shone with a fire of outrage and

anger I could see." She shivers as if she feels those eyes on her once again.

Catching something out the corner of her eye she glances over and sees the

proprietor of the inn. His presence quickly puts a damper on the conversation

as the two maids go back to work.
