Crystal Clear? Conversation

Setting: Common Room: Flaming Arrow Inn, Tar Valon

Characters:
Sionil - Accepted of the White Tower
Kirill - Thief-catcher
Cassandra - Thief
Johann - Soldier/Hopeful Warder Trainee

Sionil comes into the common room from the stable yard outside.

Kirill sits at the bar drinking, not heavily for once. His staff is leaning against the rail at his side. one elbow rests on the counter to support his chin.

Sionil looks over and peers towards the Thiefcatcher, with a slight amount of hesitation she walks towards him

Kirill sets the glass down on the counter and procedes to talk with it. "I'm not that way. I dont care what you think." He shakes his finger at the glass, "I had nothing to do with that woman getting pregnant."

Sionil remains quiet and observes from behind

The empty glass just sits there, unmoving on the counter right infront of Kirill's face. Blinking once or twice to get his focus back he continues on, "If Milli heard that kind of talk she would never talk to me again." he leans in closer to the glass and whispers, "But of course it all isn't true...I never touched that woman. Half of the women in Tar Valon, perhaps, but not that woman...."

In a whisper, the glass responds "Why would the woman say you are the father though?" (ooc: that is IC)

Kirill lifts the glass and looks underneath and with a frown sets it down again. "She is just jealous is all. she tried to get me to take her home but I refused, said I was changin for Mil..Mi..Milli." he blinks again at the glass, "she decided the only way ot get me is to convince the town she carried my child....little chit."

"Have you changed?"

Kirill waves for the bartender, "Sven! This here glass is talkin again....fill its mouth with some brandy. That'l quiet it down." He glares at the glass. "of course I have...I'll teach you to talk back to me." he whispers to the glass before the bartender comes over.

Sionil remains in her position without saying anything. The glass goes silent, but after it is filled will not empty out.

Cassandra comes down the wooden stairs from the second floor.

Sionil stands several feet behind Kirill, observing the thiefcatcher, but silently doing so.

Cassandra waves to Kirill as she approaches him. "Hello."

Windrosse walks in from the street, he looks about nervously for someone. On finally spotting Cassandra he sighs in relief.

Cassandra nods politely to her servant as he enters.

Kirill looks up from his glass that is now full and smiles at Cassandra, "Well if it isn't my Pregnant friend Cassandra. I hope that Nobreon has been treating you well?"

Windrosse walks over to Cassandra's table. "You shouldn't leave without telling me Cassandra."

Sionil sits down at the Small Table Near Fire.

Cassandra smirks, "Of course. Does that bother you?"

Cassandra glances to Windrosses, "I'm perfectly all right."

Windrosse looks quite unhappy. "But its not proper Cassandra, there is no telling what might happen to you."

Johann comes down the wooden stairs from the second floor.

Kirill laughs and gives the glass in his hand a glare as to be silent, as if the thing could talk! "Of course not, I just wonder about a man that would send away a pretty one as yourself. Seems rather odd to me....he doesn't have another lover he's not telling you about is he?"

Johann enters the room, glances over the crowd and takes a seat.
Johann takes a seat at the Long Oak Bar.

Cassandra frowns at Kirill's comment. "Of course not. He only trusts me to take care of this very important errand, and I'm sure I'll be back shortly." She turns to Windrosse, "And since Nobreon feels I can take care of myself, I expect you to treat me as though you feel the same. Understood?"

Kirill lifts the glass of brandy to his lips and goes to take a drink. but no matter how high he tilts it nothing comes out, "SVEN!" He pounds his fist to the counter, "What did you put in here? molassess?"

Sionil flags a passing server and orders quietly.

Windrosse frowns unhappily. "But Cassandra, its my place to worry about you. This is most unproper, most unproper." He almost mutters the last part to himself. He also seems very distressed by the entire situation.

The server quickly returns and walks over to Sionil and sets the a cup of berry tea before her.

Johann flags a passing server and orders quietly.
The server quickly returns and walks over to the Long Oak Bar and sets the mead before Johann.

Johann flags a passing server and orders quietly.
The server quickly returns and walks over to the Long Oak Bar and sets the lamb before Johann.

Cassandra seems amused by Windrosse's reaction. "Forgive me then. Will it make you feel better if we share the same room?"

Kirill sets the mug down on the counter and rests his chin on the counter next to it. He stares at is and mutters to soft to be heard by anyone but the glass, "dont you think I've changed?"

Windrosse gasps loudly. "Cassandra, that is extremely improper, how dare you suggest it. When will you ever learn how to behave?"

Johann stands leaves the Long Oak Bar.

Nothing but silence comes from Kirill's glass

Cassandra grins widely, "I meant you could sleep on a cot or something. So I won't be watched as closely at night then, I take it?"

Johann crosses the room to the hearth.
Johann sits down on the Wide Stone Hearth.

Windrosse finally takes a seat at Cassandra's table, sitting there he sighs and shakes his head. "Of course you will be watched, my room is right off of your's, haven't you ever seen a servant'

Kirill pounds the counter next to the glass, "Answer me!" He remembers the brandy in the glass, "Ah you can't talk with the brandy can ya? alright Alright!" he lifts up the glass and tries to pour out the liquid onto the counter.

Windrosse finally takes a seat at Cassandra's table, sitting there he sighs and shakes his head. "Of course you will be watched, my room is right off of your's. Haven't you ever seen a servant's room in an inn before?"

The fluid within the glass, turns over but by some force remains in the glass, a pocket of air floats on top of the brandy.

Cassandra frowns slightly at Kirill's display and turns around to stare at him. "Kirill, are you all right?"

Johann glances across the room, taking note of the situation.

Kirill mutters to Cassandra, "... glass hates... thinks... of... let me..."
You whisper "This glass hates me and thinks Ill of me. It wont let me take a drink!"" to Cassandra.

Sionil sits in the back, out of sight of Kirill.
Sionil sits down at the Small Table Near Fire.

Johann stands leaves the Wide Stone Hearth.

Cassandra smirks, "You must be drunk then, Kirill. It's not the glass that dislikes you. We're in Tar Valon, after all." She looks about the room to see if any Aes Sedai are present.

Johann walks over to Sionil at the small table near the fire.

Sionil sips upon her tea, she gives a glance at the person coming towards her

Kirill puts the glass down rather heavily and procedes to stare at it trying to figure out what is wrong with the brandy.

Cassandra rolls her eyes and then stands, heading for the stairs. "Nevermind, Kirill. Good day."

Windrosse quickly moves to follow after Cassandra.

Cassandra climbs up the wooden stairs into the second floor.

Windrosse climbs up the wooden stairs into the second floor.

Sionil glances over at Kirill briefly before responding, She mutters to Johann, "You... worry... him."

Johann stands at approximately 6'2", weighing in at 180lbs. As a young man he worked on his father's farm, providing him with a good deal of strength. Johann has straight dark shoulder length hair and green eyes. No facial hair, and olive colored skin. Johann commonly wears his military garb, including black leather riding boots, a sword belt, a high collared red wool jacket, black leather riding pants, and a black hooded cloak. A deep scar runs from the bridge of Johann's nose to the bottom of his left cheek, stopping at the jawline. He has strong features, and usually wears a blank, indifferent stare. Johann's mouth seems to constantly be frowning due to the effects his scar. When wearing armor, Johann wears a chain shirt, heavy leather gloves, and a steel cap with a chain veil that is open in the front. Johann carries a battle scarred cavalry sabre in his scabbard. Also in his belt is a well worn dirk. Both are made of steel and adorned with red stones and black leather wrappings.

Johann sits down at the Small Table Near Fire.

You take a seat at the Long Oak Bar.

Kirill props his head on his elbow again and looks deep into the glass, "I

Sionil watches at Kirill but responds to Johann "Who do I have the honor of sitting with?"

Kirill props his head on his elbow again and looks deep into the glass, "I Am sorry I didn't mean to get rash. I'm just so confused is all. I know how I feel towards Milli, but there is that other woman who just will not take no for an answer."

Johann glances around before responding, "Former cavalry man from Saldaea. Currently, I'm hoping to be fortunate to study with the Warders."

Johann says, "want something to drink?"

Sionil lifts up her half full cup of tea "Thank you, no"

Johann flags a passing server and orders quietly.

The server quickly returns and walks over to the Small Table Near Fire and sets the water before Johann.

(ooc: only to Kirill) Again the glass whispers back "What do you plan to do?"

Kirill leans in almost close enough to kiss the glass and whispers back, "I don't know. Milli is always in the tower and infirmary. I never get to see her. and I can't ever get this other woman to leave me alone. She comes to my flat everyday trying to....you know..."

"So you intend to leave Milli?"

Sionil's lips briefly move, again no sound out of them.
Sionil gives a simple nod towards Johann

Johann takes it in stride with nothing further to say.

Kirill looks dumbfounded at the glass, "Why would I want to do that? did you know she bought a special shift that is totally indecent just to wear for me? I will not leave her if I don't have to."

"So you've consumated your relationship."

Kirill just stares at the glass and frowns. something in his head is hurting and clearly the glasses question frustrates him.

Johann stands leaves the Small Table Near Fire.

The glass remains silent before saying "Do you know how Milli feels for you?"

Sionil gives a nod to the man "Good day"

Johann bows to Sionil before exiting the Inn
Johann opens the door to the stable yard and heads outside.

Kirill nods, "I think I do, she tells me she loves me. I just never get to see her enough always busy with those witchs in the tower. I want to show her I have changed but the only way I can is by giving her things....If I give her any more stuff...."

(ooc: to Kirill only) After a slight pause (Sionil in the back takes a deep breath hearing that last comment about witches) the glass responds "Do you truely believe that they are witches? Even after all the help they gave during the past several weeks. After all the help that Milli gave with them?"

Kirill slumps lower on the counter. and mumbles, "No...I never did I'm just upset that they have her and I dont."

Sionil leans a little closer, taking several moments trying to understand what Kirill just said before using the glass to respond "But you do have her, does she ever speak of any other men? Does she forgive you for your past?"

Kirill gets a twinkle in his eye, "I even talked a novice to sneak me into her room in the tower and leave me there to wait for her until she was done in the infirmary. That was a special night. She fell asleep in my arms, she looked so terrible from not sleeping. I was so concerned." he nods, "She said she would try and understand my past...and she never speaks of other men, what men would se know all couped up in that tower?"

Sionil looks awestruk at that, a long pause there.

Sionil regains her composure "And even after letting you stay when you should not, does that not prove anything to you?"

Kirill laughs, "It proves I'm sneaky is what it proves. But why would you care about me or Milli? I will figure something out."

"Do you care about yourself?"

Kirill lifts the glass and tries to take a drink of the brandy inside again to no avail, "No, if I did I wouldn't be in the business I am. All I have ever done was go from one woman to the next so I could enjoy life until I died at the hand of some thief."

"Do you care about Milli though? Would you do anything for her?"

Kirill says "yes I care about Milli, I am already doing everything she asks of me. I am even going to steal a mans painting just so i can get information out of an old hag about the men that tried to beat her and rape her."

"Would she approve of that? Even for such worthy consequenses? Does the means justify the ends?"

Kirill shrugs, "What she doesn't know wont hurt her. In order to be a good thief catcher you have to be a better thief. I can do it and no one will ever know. She will get her answers and that will be the end of that." He drums his chin as he thinks, "The old hag claimed it is her's and that her son stole it from her. Technicaly I could see it as a normal retrieval...."

"But doesn't stealing only draw you down to the thieves level? What makes you any better, any honorable? How do you think Milli would feel?

Kirill grumbles something under his breath and crosses his arms across his chest. "What am I suposed to do go to Milli and tell her I failed her? I would never do that. I will find a way to get that painting and get my answers from the hag."

"And do you think if she truely cared for you she would not let you live it down? That she would not forgive you for doing your best?"

Kirill stands and yells at the glass flailing his arms around, "How do I know how she thinks or feels? I have fallen in love with a woman I rarely get to see! And when I do see her she is half dead from lack of sleep!" He flops back into his chair and faces away from the glass and for the first time his eye's fall on Sionil sitting across the room from him looking in his direction.

Sionil looks towards him with a concerned eye, finally speaking with her normal voice "I know you love her. And she loves you."

Kirill frowns and looks at Sionil trying to remember what he said throughout his conversation with the glass. His head hurts with the strain and he quickly stops trying. "We shall see...." he mutters to himself.

Sionil stands leaves the Small Table Near Fire.
Sionil walks slowly over to Kirill, an open hand she places it on the side of his head softly "It's okay Kirill."

Kirill just stands there blinking, "But I said....You heard? Burn my tongue!"

Sionil is a young lady in her late teens or early twenties. Her height is a good five foot four, and she has locks of dark brown hair, some of it straight some of it curly mixed throughout. She looks as though she could be from Andor but the deeply green shaded eyes make her to appear to be of mixed heritage and not just from Andor.
She wears a conservative dress of an accepted. Pure white except for the bands of colors at the bottom of it, of all the colors of the Ajah's of the tower. About the waist of it is a white string holding the dress tightly against her body, as well as holding a small white pouch. On her feet are a pair of matching white slippers, made of wool.
Upon the third finger of her left hand is a silver ring, it is composed of a serpent, the Great Serpent, intertwined upon itself as it bites its own tail.

Sionil strokes the catchers hair softly "I heard, I responded to it. I did not mean to take it so long, but I did not know how to tell you without you growing angry. I only want the best for the both of you."

Kirill face twists in confusion, "Why would telling me that She loves me cause me to grow angery? I long for the day when she will come to me and make me forget all the horibble things I have done. I am not an easy man to tame, but I am willing to try."

Sionil responds softly "I did not know how you would respond for me using the power to converse with you as so."

Kirill snorts, "I certainly wouldn't have told you all of that...not even a third of that."

Sionil nods "I know. I did feel it a way for you to purge your feelings, and to let them surface" Kirill lowers his head, "Perhaps I should leave and go to Cairhien for awhile, to think. I here there are quite a few lovely ladies....." He frowns at the thought that crosses his mind uncontrolably, "Burn my tongue..Milli doesn't deserve me."

Sionil shakes her head and rests her hand on, Kirill's cheek "No, you're wrong. She does deserve you, and you deserve her. You need someone to love. With all the pain you work with, you need her."

The sobering talk has done wonders to his head, "I may need her but I can't have her. She is intent on her studies in the tower, being with me would only jepordize her access. Believe it or not I am not the most favored man around the tower. I will not ruin her hopes and dreams for my petty needs. I have buried them this long I can cover them back up again."

Sionil looks seriously into Kirill's eyes "She needs you. More then you imagine."

Kirill stares back at the accepted, "try me...I can imagine quite alot."

Cassandra comes down the wooden stairs from the second floor.

The cook carries out a new sign and mounts it by the door to the kitchen which reads : "The Breakfast Special for today is: Porridge, Beef and Potato Hash, Back Bacon and Sweet cakes."

Sionil stands before Kirill, her hand upon his cheek. but a serious look is in her eyes, "You would be so petty and leave her because you can't be courageous enough to tell her how you feel? That is petty, not anything that you think you feel."

Cassandra nods to everyone before taking a seat close enough to eavesdrop.

Kirill lowers his eye's unable to look the woman in the face, "I thought that I had told her. I know what I feel. and she does too."

Sionil lifts Kirill's face up to look into his eyes "Then don't throw that away. Don't run away from your feelings."

Kirill glances away again to the drink, "Can I at least finish the drink I paid for?"

Sionil without emotion responds "What do you intend to do with Milli?"

Kirill mutters to Sionil, "... my way I would marry... and... her as... I... back... we... from.... would... collected... father and open... she cn... and... the Thief-catching business.... what... would... But I... will... I will lover her as... as..."
You whisper "If I had my way I would marry Milli and take her as far from the tower as I could, perhaps back to Tarabon where we are from. I would use the books I have collected and recieved from my dead father and open a book store where she cn practice medicine and I can get out of the Thief-catching business. That is what I would do If I could. But I cannot and will not. I will lover her as best as I can."" to Sionil.

Sionil mutters to Kirill, "... says... She is not Aes..."
Sionil whispers "who says you cannot marry her? She is not Aes Sedai."

Kirill mutters to Sionil, "... as she... in... tower.... not take... what... will... not understand that?""
You whisper "But I cannot as long as she is learning in the tower. I will not take her away from what she wants for my selfish needs! Why will you not understand that?"" to Sionil.

Sionil mutters to Kirill, "... not mean..."
Sionil whispers "Marrying her does not mean taking her away."

Kirill frowns and reaches for his staff. "She wont have me as her husband!" he glances around at all who might have heard that exclamation and gives them a glare that could kill. Without a word more he storms out of the inn.

Cassandra watches Kirill leave as she wonders at the outburst.
