Summary:The second day back at the Tower, after a long leave of absense, Zannick finds himself meeting old acqaintances, and making enemies of new.

Osendrelle Square: Tar Valon, Tar Valon

Buildings made of white stone are etched in the shapes of fanciful shells or waves that are meant to dazzle the eye. Everything within the square and on the streets beyond seems to have been made for sheer beauty, as if to show off some great skill. Small statues, crevices and friezes help to decorate the Inns and shops that line the streets. There is a large statue in the center of the square, in the shape of the White Tower, with the Flame of Tar Valon emblazoned on a small flag, honoring the Aes Sedai and their work.

The cool autumn wind is blocked by the surrounding buildings, their odd shape warding away the cold months to come. Those trees down the street already show signs of leaves changing, while some leaves have already fallen. As predawn slowly goes away, the sun rises into a new day. People start leaving the confines of their homes to start the days chores.

Several different directions spout off from the square. The main exit leads toward the White Tower itself, making the square a center of traffic and other events. Three more exits lead down private roads, towards the southern most villages outside of the city.

Aurora walks out of the Tower gate, whistling a little Saldaean tune. If she was singing the words would be about harvest time and a young woman who has her eye on a gentleman or two, but she doesn't really have a talent in that area so she whistles. She pauses at a hawker and examines a necklace for a moment... before arching an eyebrow at the man, most likely at a ridiculous price, and turning to continue on her way down the street in Rhynne and Kamile's general direction.

Rhynne shrugs, seemingly unimpressed. "Much like me.." she comments, her attention turning to that alleyway again--the one blocking the wind she /knows/ is there..but gets distracted by the familiarity of the tune and turns quickly to its source.

Kamile frowns at Rhynne, about to make a biting comment about talking to the wind. At that, Kamile glances over towards the song-whistler with a condescending look. Whistling is /so/ common.

A busy little square. Zannick is following the road towards the tower, not away from it. He comes from the direction of the harbor. His second day back at the tower, his sponsor, that crazy old Kelsyn Gaidin more or less missing, he's taken the day to go down and sit on the dock and swim a bit. Admire the boats, that sort of thing. His outer shirt is slung over his shoulder, while a still damp white one clings to his chest a bit. He also whistles. So what if he's common?

Aurora almost walks right by them but something makes her stop. Perhaps it's the condescension on Kamile's face... she arches an eyebrow at the woman who is just slightly taller than she. It doesn't seem to perturb her though. She flicks a tilted glance at Rhynne and her expression brightens immediately. Oooo, a fellow Saldaean. "Light shine, are you two new to our fair city?"

Kamile speaks in a smooth, proud tone, though what there is to be proud of at being new is beyond anyone else, "I am new in this city. I am from Caemlyn."

Rhynne smiles briefly at her countrywoman and nods. "I've come recently, yes.." Her eyes sweep over Aurora's ourfit and linger a moment on the gold ring.

Zannick moves along at a good clip, appreciating the breeze which is kindly drying his shirt out from swimming. The group of women draws his attention as he nears though. Particularly, the gold ring on the finger of one of the two Saldaean girls. The other-- wasn't she the one who sniffed and turned her nose up at him yesterday? Possibly. He slows a little, not meaning to eavesdrop really, just curious. Two years is a long time to be absent. A lot of the faces he knew then don't seem to be about.

Adri enters from the south, coming from SouthHarbor Road.

Adri has arrived.

Aurora nods back to Rhynne and makes a mental note to see if the woman has any news from Maradon or whatever part of Saldaea she is from. Her gaze takes in Kamile again and her serenity is marred only by a slight tugging upward of her lips, as though she had an important secret that was going to have to be pried out of her if it was to be shared. "Caemlyn, how nice. I have never been there myself, but I have read about it. May I ask what brings you both to Tar Valon?" Her attention seems fixed on to the two girls and she hasn't yet noticed the recently returned Sworn.

Faleen enters from the south, coming from SouthHarbor Road.

Faleen has arrived.

Faleen walks at Adri's side chatting business and other matters.

Kamile's eyebrows arch at Aurora's expression as she replies, "My father told me that I should come to see the world. So I see. It is very..pretty."

Adri comes walking down the road cane tip tapping against the cobblestone as he moves. He is chit chatting with the new social secretary of Tar valon.

"Well--" Rhynne is slightly distracted by the others who are passing by and shifts uncomfortably on her feet before forcing her focus on Aurora. Her story is a bit different from Kamile's: "My parents have brought me..to see an old friend at the White Tower, they say.." A little shrug.

The attention Zannick was starting to focus on the three girls is taken elsewhere as the Trainee suddenly catches sight of someone he does actually know. He calls out, as he's passing the girls, perhaps a bit too loud, "Gaidin Adri!" he starts to trot easily, crumpling the outer shirt which had been slung over his shoulder into his fist, a grin on his face.

Kamile keeps aside one of her 'far too many of these Aes Sedai' comments, and just continues to smile, if not widely, then politely. A wince goes through her body as Zannick seems to decide to yell right behind her, and she turns to throw a glance towards him.

Did Aurora just stiffen a little at the sound of the cane tapping? Maybe just a tiny, tiny, bit, but it's the kind of thing only the very perceptive would notice. She tries to keep her tilted eyes on the two young women she is conversing with, but then Zannick practically shouts in their ears and she jumps a bit, shooting an almost simulataneous glare at him with Kamile. Great, now she's got to say something to the Gaidin. She turns and forces a smile to her lips. Light burn it all.

Faleen stops her chatting as she hears someone call out Adri's name. She smiles as she glances at the trainee then turns to Adri "is that one of the ones you teach?" she speaks in a semi formal tone.

Adri turns his attention away from Faleen momentarily to see who might be calling him and is...pleasantly suprised. He salutes Zannick with his cane as the trainee approaches. "My my...is this not a suprise? I had not thought we would get to see you around here again Zannick." He indicates Faleen. "Zannick allow me to introduce you to my Social Secretary, Faleen." He pauses before answering Faleen's question. "Ah no dear. He is one of kelsyn's trainees. Damn shame if you ask me."

Kayne enters from the northeast, from Treesingers Avenue.

Kayne has arrived.

Zannick sweeps a flashily confident bow as he halts in front of Adri and Faleen. "May the light Shine on you Gaidin, Secretary Faleen. I told you I'd be back." Zan flashes a grin, "Pa decided being crushed by a boat hull wasn't enough to get him out of this world after all." He explains half jokingly, only laughing at Adri's comment on his sponsor.

Shouting? Whistling? Rhynne is nonplussed at either, having heard such all her life. Dark blue eyes glance over at the Gaidin and sworn..tho of their titles, she knows not. She hmms softly.

Kayne passes through the Osendrelle Gates under the watchful eyes of the Tower Guards.

Kayne has left.

Kamile doesn't look the most pleased at all the racket. Racket is so...common. She turns smoothly back towards Rhynne and Aurora.

As she is introduced for the first time with her new title, Faleen takes on a regal air as she nods to the trainee "I am pleased to meet you Zannick." Her speach fluid and confident as she greets. Yes Adri she has been working on her social graces, as she had little doubt you would be elected.

Adri snorts "I know I certainly have had worse." he winks. "So you going to hurry up and get this damn training over with this time or what?"

Aurora just barely inclines her head before turning back to the two young women. Can't lose them after all.. not that she thinks they would be able to stay very long without being dragged up to the Tower. Still, so much more fun to discover them herself. "Could I interest either in you in a cup of tea?" Ok, so it's a little strange offering to get drinks for complete strangers, but she has her reasons of course. "Somewhere a bit more quiet perhaps..."

Tea. How quaint. Smoothly, Kamile nods her acceptance, "Tea would be nice." She isn't really accepting the tea, but the quiet, "Although I'm afraid I don't know your name.."

"Hmm? Oh.." Rhynne seems to be staring off into space, it seems. She turns back to Aurora and smiles a bit."Tea would be nice enough.." A quick glance to Kamile--the one with all the etiquette knowhow..of course, she's had the training.

Aurora smiles, a bit enigmaticly and says, "Accepted Aurora." She gestures towards the Tower looming above the city as if that explains everything. "And yours," she asks, glancing between the two and then gesturing again, this time down the street before she starts down it, glancing back to make sure they are moving their feet as well.

Zannick gives Adri a look and sort of dances a couple of steps with his fists up, though not seriously, "Yeah I am! And then I'll give you a whupping Gaidin!" None of it serious. Absolutely none. Zannick is not arrogant enough to believe he could take Adri, but the kid seems to be a bit of a joker, or just perennially sunny in temperament. He lets though fists drop just as quickly though and smiles at Faleen. "The pleasure is all mine, Secretary. Completely mine." He winks at Adri.

Kamile moves after Aurora, long legs moving rather swiftly as she keeps up. "Kamile. Of house Lareca, in Caemlyn, of course." A pause, then she shrugs to herself, "But I prefer Mila."

Adri continues to make small talk as he pats his secretary affectionately. "So you getting all settled back in? What form did you leave here on? perhaps I can get you hooked up with a few quick lessons."

Rhynne reddens slightly at her obviouis lack of manners. "Rhynne..Rhynne Desonnare," she offers feebly, following the Accepted.

Aurora inclines her head to both of them, tucking the names away in her memory for future use. "A pleasure. Rhynne did you say you knew someone in the Tower? Might is ask who?" Her voice trails off as she leads the girls off.

Aurora walks to the south, heading for SouthHarbor Road.

Kamile walks to the south, heading for SouthHarbor Road.

Rhynne walks to the south, heading for SouthHarbor Road.

Zannick scratches his head, loosening the little wavy tendrils his hair is starting to dry in after his swim, and answering the questions as fast as they come, "Yeah, I managed to get a bunk last night. Haven't been able to find Kelsyn today though, so I took the day off. Spent it at the harbor doing a bit of diving. Ah, well the lessons. I had just clearned the Sworn Testing when I had to leave, so I suppose I have a clean slate from there. You know I'm always ready for lessons, Gaidin!"

Faleen listens quietly and smiles. Her sharpness takes in the other women leaving, of whom she will ask about later. "thank You Zannick, you are most gracious." she then grows silent and listens to the men chatter.

Adri smirks. "And you know I dread giving them...I will see if I can't call in a few favors though." He pauses. "Say...you know, the Alindrelle derby is coming up...You interested in entering?"

Faleen shifts a little and brushes her dress down in the back. She again shows great interest "I would love to be in attendance at the derby, I just love horses."

Adri chuckles and is well aware of Faleen's fondness for riding. "You and everybody else are always welcome. We are already starting to get entrys. I believe this one will be one of the best yet."

Zannick laughs, roughing up his hair a bit more, tossing the blue shirt in his hand over his shoulder so he can use both hands to do it. Light that feels good, a wind just cooling the remaining dampness near his scalp. Free spirit of sorts? Maybe. The mention of the derby snaps up his attention though. "Ooh! Is it that time of year? Light. Of course I would. I brought Aries back with me, ya know!"

Adri nods with an odd smile. "I guess we'll just have to see how he stacks up against Hyperion." And that's Adri's horse...

"That we will, Gaidin." Zannick laughingly agrees. "I remember Hyperion. You still feeding him too much?" Zan's expression crackles with amusement.

Adri says "As I recall way back when...feeding him was part of your job."

Faleen cocks an eyebrow "I think I might enter Wildfire, she is small but quicker than that stallion anyday."

Zannick chuckles and shakes his head, "Naw, you had your own trainees do that, remember? You aren't laying his fatness at my feet, Gaidin, oh no!" Zan shoots a grin at Faleen on her comment on her mare.

Adri baps Faleen with his cane playfully "The derby is rarely kind to women." he cuckles "But of course...you are always welcome to try

Reaching up quickly as Adri's cane baps her Faleen catches it as she glares "I am a good a horsewoman as any man and my mare has greater endurance than most at the stable in the Tower."

Adri chuckles and just shakes his head. "Do not say I didn't warn you dear."

Faleen nods "I am duly warned and I will make a good showing for all the women that men think are inept." she speaks softly as she realeases the cane. "When is this derby?"

Adri says "In a month or so give or take. you know how these big events tend to be."

Zannick snorts softly, a nearly stifled laugh in the noise, and starts putting on his overshirt, now that his undershirt is dried. This looks suspiciously like a romance to him. he wonders how old Zep-- He blinks, "Hey! Where's um-- Zephi Sedai? You get thrown out Adri?" Zan is just blunt like that, and harmless at the same time. Never means any embarrassment. He's just a nice guy.

Faleen smiles "Ok I will have Wildfire ready." Turning as Zannick speaks of Zephi, she reaches out and takes Adri's arm while he responds.

Adri shakes his head. "Wasn't thrown out...just had a change in job description." he winks. "I was just elected the High Councilor of Tar valon."

Zannick finishes buttoning up the shirt and tucks it in carelessly as Adri illuminates the issue for him, "Now that sounds like a cushy job." He remarks grinning and trying to get the shirt tale to stay tucked at the same time. "So what's it like, to be free of the bond after having it?" he asks with a casual tone and a grin.

Faleen remains silent as she strokes Adri's arm gently.

Adri smiles. "Let me just put it to you this way Zannick...don't get bonded if you can help it." He smiles. "And yes...I am finding the job has quite a few perks." he pats Faleen on the butt playfully. "A beautiful secretary being one of them."

Zannick just shakes his head and rubs the back of his neck, "Light Adri, you always were the most off the wall of the Gaidin. Its a wonder Zephi put up with you for so long." He winks at Faleen, showing that he is teasing.

Faleen grins knowing that what Zan said is true, Adri is the most *off the wall* human she has ever met.

Adri nods. "Poor Zphi has quite a bit more stamina then most." he winks. "But then again, that poor woman needed a little adventure in her life...150 years of sitting in a library just has a way of doing something...wierd to one's brain I think."

Zannick shudders at the thought. "Ugh. What a boring life. If I ever bond I'll make sure it isn't to a brown. I'd like to travel around a bit. See things. Check out the rest of creation. That would be my reason for taking a bond I think. Adventure. Any Sedai who can't promise me that.. can look elllllsewhere!" Zan grins and glances towards the tower after that remark. "I think I smell supper." He remarks, rubbing his belly.

Adri chuckles and is definately smelling something as well. "Always remember kid...it's you who pick them...not the other way around." Adri winks. "Go get your supper."

Faleen looks to Zan "you would be smart to stay clear of all the women in the Tower they are all a bit stuffy." she rubs Adri's arm gently "A man like you would do well to find a good woman in town, one that is more exciting."

Zannick chuckles and sweeps another bow, breaking himself into that habit again. "I'll give that some thought Secretary Faleen." He winks at her, and then salutes Adri, "Thanks Gaidin. See you round later then?"

Adri nods and salutes the trainee with his cane. "You can count on it."

Zannick waves and sets off at an easy long legged trot for the tower and supper. A wooden leg on that one. He can put away more stew... you'd think he was still growing like a weed.

Faleen watches the trainee leave then turns to Adri "I am a bit tired myself I think I shall return home and get some rest." she kisses you on the cheek "Thank you Adri you will never regret nameing me your social secretary" well if life holds tru Adri is in for a wild ride.

You pass through the Osendrelle Gates under the watchful eyes of the Tower Guards.

Courtyard: White Tower, Tar Valon

Before you stands a magnificent palace made of delicately sculpted marble, rather than blocks. Gently arching walls and bulging domes rise high into the sky, seemingly just barely touching the clouds with its delicately crafted spires, topping off the breathtaking sight before you. Looking about, one can see a small garden off to the side, with a small winding path down it's center that leads into a maze of bushes where one might get lost if not too careful.

Colors seem to change from bright pastels to earthy tones and vibrant reds as the days start to grow colder and the days shorter. There are several benches about the grounds where one might be able to sit and relax. The noon sun rises high in the sky, shining down brightly into the courtyard grounds. All around you can see that the area is a bustle of activity as Novices and Accepted alike work on their chores or mill about on various benches in the yard doing their studies. Aes Sedai clump together in small groups, holding private conversations, keeping a careful eye on events in the area.

A broad stairway, made of pristine white marble, enters into the White Tower, marked by a massive pair of doors decorated with delicate carvings of intricate workmanship. A tall, white wall cascades around the yard, its entrances and exits marked by high gates leading to the street, watched by the Tower Guard. Somewhere in the courtyard you can see buildings for the barracks and the stables. You can also see an entrance to the practice yard, marked of by a row of high hedges.

Devon nods, smiling. "Earth is generally considering a masculine Power, because men who channel are usually strong in it. Earth can be used to move stones, weaken metal, break or bend metal, open locks, and in those who are strong in the weave, to even cause earthquakes." Devon is standing underneath one of the trees, teaching a class to Galjea. "Do you have any questions before we begin the lesson?"

Galjea's eyes widen some.. "Really.. eathquaks... light.." She shakes her head. "Umm can't think of any at this time.. maybe after the lesson?" She places her hands in her lap.

Zannick comes in from the square, his blue shirt tucked a bit unevenly as if its been recently donned over the white one that can be seen peeping out underneath. His hair looks like its been recently wet. He glances around quickly for Kelsyn and then heads for the tower proper and supper. He smiles at the girls about to have a lesson as he passes. Doesn't recognise either one. Light 2 years is a long time to be gone!

Devon nods, the smile on her face never wavering. "Alright then, we'll begin with the lesson. "This weave allows us to tell the quality of the soil, should we need to know it for planting crops, and so on." She forms a thin thread of earth and shapes the tip into a blunt point. Carefully she lowers it into the ground, and probes the ground. "It can also tell you if the area is diseased or if the plants are. Likely the Blight would feel diseased." She gestures again, repeating the weave for you.

You walk up the steps and go through the main doors of the Tower.

* * Later * *

You push through the main doors of the Tower and go to the Courtyard.

Galjea nods and smiles woefully. "I yes Accepted Devon.." And then loks at her freind Aurora and chuckles softly. "Barely.. though I was going to bust when trying to move that rock and I was standing still to boot!" She giggles and look at the other person with Aurora

Devon grins, turning to smile at Aurora. "Good afternoon, Aurora. So what have you been up to, today?" she asks of her friend, a light hearted smile on her face. "You did well, Galjea, Earth just isn't your thing." She chuckles back at the Novice.

Aurora grins at Galjea, "Don't worry, I'm sure Devon will have you exploding rocks in no time," she says teasingly, with a wink. "Oh, not much," she answers Devon, "just basking in classlessness, oh and I found two girls who can channel within the city. One of them should be seeing the Mistress of Novices soon." Of course she doesn't mention the one that got away.. she won't stay gone for long.

Galjea chuckles softly and nods. "Maybe.." She glances at the other girl beside Aurora. "I'm Novice Galjea.. nice to meet you." The 18 year old puts out her hand and smiles warmly.

Zannick comes out and sits down on the steps with a chunk of bread from the Dining Hall, and a pen and paper. he might as well take this opportunity to write a letter. He sighs a little, scratches his head, and then begins to write. A bit awkward writing on the steps. He stuffs the bread in his teeth while he gets the paper situated. Probably looks rather silly. So what. He roughs up his dark hair and then goes on writing, a look of concentration coming onto his ordinarily relaxed features.

Devon blinks, chuckling slightly. Is it ever surprising at some of the things that Aurora gets involved in? "Gitani Sedai offered to teach one of my classes this morning, so I had a couple hours to spend in the city. It was wonderful. I even bought a dress, I haven't gotten a new dress in....it has to be almost a year or two." She grins slightly, running a hand throuhg her hair.

Galjea chuckles softly and nods. "Maybe.." She glances at the other guy on the steps behind Aurora. "I'm Novice Galjea.. nice to meet you." The 18 year old puts out her hand and smiles warmly.

Aurora grins at Devon. It really is amazing just how much she manages to get her nose into, sometimes. "That was nice of her. I think she's my favorite Red, well, at least until Kaylene is raised." She refuses to let the name cloud her disposition. Kay will come back. The girl is tougher than... a veteran borderguardsman. And that's not even counting her ability to channel. Her eyes light up a little at the mention of a new dress, "Oh, you'll have to show it to me. You should have told me, I would have loved to come with you."

Devon chuckles, teasing, "Yes, but you were probably too busy discovering new channelers, now don't you think? But it was nice, to just have the morning off and relax, I got to spend some time by myself, which was nice. No one hovering over to see how I was doing."

Zannick glances up, something about the direction of the voice cluing him in that this might have been addressed to him. Seeing it -is- he hops up, taking the bread out of his teeth hastily and plunking it down on his paper. "Oh, Hi. Nice to meet you Novice Galjea. Zannick, Zannick Mansetti. Sworn." He grins easily and takes the offered hand, stooping over it, but forgoing any sort of social brush of his lips to it. This novice does not need that sort of trouble he figures, even if it would have been innocent. He releases her hand and smiles back in a friendly fashion.

Aurora gasps, feigning indignation. "Hover?? I don't hover! Do I?" She winks, "that's good though." She sighs with mock wistfullness, "I just don't know what I'm going to do with all this free time, now that I don't have any more classes to take." Sure there is still practice and teaching, and chores of course, but it's just not the same. Maybe Jaice will show her more about ter'angreal. She sighs wistfully again, a real one this time.

Devon tilts her head slightly. "Didn't we talk about going to see the ter'angreal vaults? I'm sure Jaice or Gitani Sedai would be more than willing to go along with us. Roseana Sedai's always down there, too, I've heard. So many ter'angreal, it might be interesting."

Galjea smiles friendly like. "Nice to meet you Zannick..I'm not bothering yu am I?" She askes.. "you looked abit busy.. hoping I'm not interuprting?" She places her hands behind her back now that he let go of her hand.

Aurora's eyes light up. "I'd forgotten about that. I will have to have a chat with Gitani Sedai." She carefully refrains from hopping up and down or clapping her hands or squeeling or any other such nonsense like that. She's too old for acting like a Novice, well.. not really since she's actually about the same age as Galjea over there, but in her mind she is. "Maybe she can help me find a ter'angreal for my project." The project she should have come up with oh... months ago... ah well, hopefully it won't take -too- long.. and then... keeping a silly grin from her face is almost impossible.

Devon chuckles, tilting her head slightly. "I haven't figured out what I'm doing exactly for my project, either, so maybe the trip will help us both?" The comment is idle, nothing more than a passing thought. Wistful. "And then, of course, is the challenge of finishing my classes."

Zannick brushes a brown tendril of wayward slightly curly hair off his forehead. "No, no! Absolutely not. Was thinking about writing a letter, but I really was feeling a bit of writers block. You've saved me from the embarrassment of having to mail an empty letter." He grins and winks. "Been here long, Novice? At the tower I mean?"

Ensygn walks in from the southeast entrance, watched closely by the Tower Guards.

Ensygn has arrived.

Ensygn comes walking slowly into the courtyard, a small smile on his face.

Aurora smiles and nods, "Hopefully. The classes aren't that bad though. At least I don't think so. If you can you should take Battleweaves." She grins. "That was a fun class. Oh wait, you're thinking about the Blue Ajah aren't you? Well... the weaves still come in useful." She spies Ensygn and waves to him, grinning like mad.

Galjea nods.. tapping her foot idlly.. she a short thing, looks young then she is. Cairhien in looks, a grace about shen she peaks and walks. "Over a year..now." She simplely says. "Writing a letter to your family?" She inquires carefully.. maybe she's a tad noisy too

Zannick is standing near the steps, talking with Galjea. There's a pen, a paper, and a hunk of bread sitting on the paper on the steps behind him.

Ensygn smiles and nods to Aurora. He moves for Zannick, however.

Devon stands nearby Gal and Zan, talking with Aurora, her back to Ensy at the moment. "I've been trying to schedule a time to talk with Cavaeya Sedai, but she's so difficult to catch ever since she lost the election. I wanted to ask her about the Blues. But aybe I will take Battleweaves, it might prove interesting. And who knows, maybe I'll consider the Green Ajah."

Zannick grins, glancing down at the bread obscured paper. "Well... yeah. Thought my father might like to hear I made it here. The roads from Tear are all under Military control. But what do I say beyond, Hey Pa, I'm here?" He chuckles. "You see my dilemma."

Ensygn steps up. "Perhaps you could start with your disrespect to the Gaidin as soon as you arrived?" he asks of the Tairen trainee.

Galjea blinks and looks at the Gaidin. She takes a step back. Since being the lowest ranked here she walking on thin ice..

Aurora smiles, "That would be nice. Are you sure you want to talk to Cavaeya Sedai though? Weste is so much nicer... I'd even rather take the interview from Jaice Sedai..." She glances over towards Ensygn as he upbraids the Trainee... uh oh.. well at least this should be innteresting.

Zannick starts, having not noticed Ensygn approaching at all. He bows quickly, "Good Afternoon Gaidin. May the Light Shine on you." His tone immediately from joking to respect. Not that he knows this Gaidin's name.

Devon chuckles. "Yes, but think of how much Cavaeya Sedai must know. She's been around practically forever, and people step more warily around her than they do around Alona Sedai." Her eyes grow curious as she sees Aurora's distracted attention and she turns, to see Ensy being poopy to one of the Gaidin's students.

Ensygn smiles. "Peave favor, Trainee. What is your name. We'll start simple. Mine is Ensygn."

Galjea inches closer to Devon and Aurora.

Zannick straightens and grins, not arrogantly, but not cowed either, just genuinely at home with people. He seems a confident fellow in a pleasant way. "I'm Zannick Mansetti, Gaidin. Sworn, just returned from leave."

Aurora chuckles, "And we all know how much you admire Alona Sedai. Well far be it from me to stand in the way." She glances with a soft chuckle at Galjea and wonders what Zannick could have done to rile the Gaidin... hmmm... She leans in to whisper to Devon, jerking her head towards the Gaidin and Trainee, "This should be an interesting show..."

Adri enters the Courtyard of the White Tower through the Osendrelle Gates, watched by the hawkeyes of the Tower Guard.

Adri has arrived.

Ensygn looks down at the young man. "Now, Zannick." he says. "Mind telling me why you forgot to bow and nearly rean me down the other day?" he asks. He stands infront of Zannick, who's near Galjea. Devon and Aurora stand nearby, talking to themselves.

Tip tap tip tap tip tap. Adri comes a'walkin in from the square.

Devon laughs a bit louder at that. "Oh definitely, but think about it. If Cavaeya Sedai takes a liking to me, then do you think Alona Sedai would be as quick to chastize me? From what I've seen, Cavaeya's got even more fear attached to her than Alona Sedai. Plus, think of what she could teach me about the Blue Ajah."

"I didn't see you till it was too late Gaidin Ensygn." Zan remarks guilessly. "I do apologise. I hope it was not too much of a problem. Yesterday was my first day back, and it seems I had forgotten more of the habits than I realised." Zannick grins slightly, meeting Ensygn's gaze.

Zenra walks down the steps into the Courtyard, after pushing through the main doors of the Tower.

Zenra has arrived.

Zenra passes through the Osendrelle Gates under the watchful eyes of the Tower Guards.

Zenra has left.

Ensygn looks back down. His slightly overlarge brown eyes hold a sharp edge to them. "Forgot did you?" he says. His arms warp around his back and he flashes something to Aurora in his hand-talk. "Should you be reeducated?" he asks, his voice now holding a small edge

Aurora smiles, "I suppose if being feared is what you want..." She winks and glances at Ensygn's flashing fingers, a grin spreading across her lips. She doesn't answer him though, instead just watching from the corner of her eye, "Personally I think I would rather be respected."

Adri comes walking up behind Zannick. "What's this I hear about requiring a reeducation?" He lays a hand on Zann's shoulder.

Galjea listens to the accepted she stands with and watches the gaidin with the sworn.

Devon grins. "Not being feared, exactly, but the status would be interesting. Although I just intend to be my own person, even as an Aes Sedai." She's spent enough time with Kae to have developed this concept. "Although it might be nice to have so many Warders..."

Aurora tosses her head back laughing, "Trust me Devon, having lots of Warders is sometimes more trouble than it's worth." She winks again. Not quite more than it's worth really, at least in her case, but she still doesn't know how she's going to deal with 3 of them... "Though I suppose it would depend on the Gaidin..."

Galjea trys not to laugh out laoud at the converstaion the accpeted are having.

Zannick starts a bit, glancing over his shoulder at Adri. "I'm afraid I did mess up a bit Gaidin Adri. I almost bumped into Gaidin Ensygn here yesterday an hour after i arrived, and was kinda late bowing to him." Zan looks mostly puzzled at the hard core treatment though. He's been on leave for two complete years.

Adri licks his lips. "Did you say you were sorry?"

Ensygn turns to Adri. "I will hadnle this, Adri Gaidin." he says. "Thank you, good day." he turns back to the Trainee. "Now then, where were we?"

Galjea looks at Aurora and then at the two Gaidin and the trainee adn whispers something else to the accpeted.

Devon glances over at Aurora, eyes widening slightly. Since when did Ensygn get a stick implanted in his....ahem. Which begs the question, will it take a Yellow to remove? "Is Ensygn alright?" she whispers quietly.

Aurora just chuckles softly, shaking her head. She lowers her own voice for the two channelers.

Adri seems in no hurry to be getting along to anywhere at the moment...and at any rate he plans on sticking around to hear what is said. Obviously curious to know what sort of trouble poor Zanny is going to get himself into his second day back at the tower. Yup...nothing but trouble that kid always was.

"Yes sir. I apologised." Zannick answers the last question Adri asked him. He says nothing further though. If this one is intent on taking it out of his hide, he supposes that is where it will come out of regardless.

Galjea nods sagely..no smiles comes to her lips now are dry and she licks them slowly to moisten them

Devon blinks slightly. She mutters to Aurora, "It's fun to... at Trainees? Embarras them,... yell at... dunno."

Ensygn brings his arms back around. "Lets take a walk to the practice yard, shall we?" he asks, moving that way himself. He winks to Aurora as he passes.

Adri just so happens to be heading that way as well. Quite a coincidence. Seems he has some entrys to make in the trainee files.

Aurora chuckles softly and nods to Ensygn. She glances at Devon and pauses for a moment before replying quietly, "Men are different... if you wanted to say get closer to a woman, you would probably sit and talk with her, or work on a project together.. men.. when they want to make up... tend to.. slam eachother against trees and things..." or at least so she has found.

Zannick nods, and follows Ensygn towards the practice yard as requested. What's he gonna say, no? "Yes Gaidin." Zan smiles at Galjea, Devon, and Aurora as he passes, apparently unaware that at least one of them is not really being too kind to him behind his back.

Ensygn gives a smile to Aurora. "Or simply try to kill each other, yes." he says with a smile and wink. He grins at Devon as he walks by as well.

Ensygn passes through the entrance of a large wall, leading to the Practice Yard.

Ensygn has left.

You pass through the entrance of a large wall, leading to the Practice Yard.

Practice Yard: White Tower, Tar Valon

The practice yard appears to loom before you, lined in a perfect square by various tall shrubs and hedges. You'll notice that the center of the practice grounds is cleared of any grass or trees, forming a hard, packed-dirt arena. By the barracks, you'll notice several stands holding various practice weapons for the Trainees to use during their training sessions. There is also a rack holding various forms of armor, used to help protect those within a session.

All around, leaves change color and you'll hedges appear to lose their leaves, as the autumn chill starts to come forth. The sun slowly sets below the horizon, painting the sky in various pastens of pink, purple and even a light orange. Soon, you can see the stars above starting to shine down, showing off all their splendor.

There are two exits out of the practice grounds. One exit leads into the barracks which house the guards, Trainees and Warders. The other exit leads out into the courtyard of the Tower grounds.

Adri comes through the Courtyard entrance of the large wall surrounding the Practice Yard.

Adri has arrived.

Adri heads for the entry logs...

Ensygn walks right over to the practice sword rack and pulls out a short one for himself, and a normal sized one for Zannick. "Here you go." he says. "Go over there to a practice circle and get warmed up." he says, pulling off his cloak and coat.

Zannick pulls his second shirt off his torso as he goes to warm up as directed, giving Adri a sideways glance. The white shirt underneath is so much brighter against his brown arms. Tossing the blue one aside, he begins warm ups.

Adri is busy making about a months worth of neglected entries...don't mind him

Ensygn hangs up the coat and cloak, then heads over. "Well done, Zannick. You have pride without arrogance, and don't allow people to run over you. You will make an excellent Gaidin. Let's get the sword forms out of the way as quickly as we can, eh?" now his voice is warm and friendly. "And my name is Ensygn, forget the title and don't worry with the bows."

"Thank you Ensygn." Zannick winds down his warm ups as Ensygn approaches the practice circle.

Ensygn pulls the sword behind him and offers his hand to the young Tairen. "Well met, Zannick." he sys simply. "Now, understand, once the lesson begins, you are the student and I the teacher. Whatever other relationship we have does not enter the lesson. There will be times when I hurt, and I will apologize for all such actions now, and never again. There will be times when you do well and hurt me. You will apologize for all such actions now and never again, understand?"

Zannick smiles comfortably and takes the offered hand. "I understand." Some of the effervenscence of his people loving personality seems to have sombered into responsible concentration.

Ensygn nods. "Good. Ready stance. Let's see what else you've forgoten." he smiles and his voice is light, suggesting he's joking.

Zannick steps back and closes his eyes briefly, suggesting remembrance in progress and then moves into a guard stance, turned sideways and presenting only one narrowed side to attack, the sword held, his wrist loose. "One can hope not much that will not return quickly." he replies.

Ensygn nods. "Good. Ribbon in the Air, a counter attack designed to force an opponent into an over swing, then attack with a thrust." he smiles. "Quite nice, fi done right. Make a swing at me."

Zannick assimilates that little bit of description and then nods, "All right." Zan swings, an upward diagonal stroke with decent speed and accuracy. Appropriate for a Sworn, and using the body to power it with a twist of his hips as he steps into it.

Ensygn moves his sword up as though to block, but at the last moment, he pulls the sword back to avoid contact, then thrusts for Zannick's midsection.

Zannick has not forgotten too much it seems, for he being slightly forewarned of what is to occur, senses the moment the shift in direction occurs in Ensygn's and lets his motion twist him sideways, almost getting enough out of the way of that thrust, while pulling his sword's direction into a circular arc intended to deflect the sword from his midsection. The practice blade skims his white shirt and leaves a mark on it even as the trainee's blade touches it.

Ensygn pulls back as the swords clash and nods. "Good defense. Let me demonstarte slower. Bring your sword up to block some slash, the direction doesn't matter. At the last moment, pull the sword back so that they opponent overswings." he demonstartes slowly as he speaks. "And then thrust for the midsection or chest."

Adri is pretty damn quick. There are not that many gaidin round here that can make a week's worth of entries in under 15 minutes...but Adri has succeeded in this. he closes the book and mutters something about being back to do that chore again next month. That done, he heads for the courtyard.

Adri passes through the entrance of a large wall, leading to the Courtyard.

Adri has left.

Zannick nods, watching the slow demonstration studiously. "Yes, I see it. You let the opponent think they are going to meet force they never meet, and so they swing a bit too far, leaving themselves open, correct?" His eyes follow Adri briefly as the Councilman leaves.

Ensygn nods. "Exactly. Looks like you didn't forget the important parts. Think you can do it?"

"I think so." Zannick steps back and runs through an opponentless version of it quickly, not formalized, more just giving his muscles something to remember and refine, then he takes a ready stance.

Ensygn pauses a moment, then launches into an attack, coming up, down and towards Zan's shoulder.

Making as if to parry the downstroke head on with his practice blade, Zan nevertheless switches directions creatively at the last minute, twisting aside to remove his body from the path of the attack, and using that twist to turn the swords velocity into a thrust aimed at Ensygn's torso, just below the ribs.

Ensygn hops back and nods. "Good job." he hands the man the hilt of his sowrd. "Place this up and practice. I'm going to go record your lesson."

Zannick grins slightly and takes the second sword in hand. "Thanks Ensygn." He scoops up his blue shirt from the ground on the way to the rack, slinging it over a brown arm.
