| Summary: | The Acting High Ambassador meets with Kirill at the jail after his arrest. |
NorthHarbor Road: Tar Valon, Tar Valon
The street is paved with large chunks of white stone, making the road smooth for travel. This being one of the older sections of Tar Valon, tell tale signs of Ogier stonework can be seen all around with statues, friezes and crevices all over the varying inns, shops and homes. Most buildings are made to look as if they are some kind of breaking wave on the seashore or a shell, with their varying outward appearances.
Pastels, deep crimsons, violets and other bright shades seem to burst out everywhere as flowers begin to bloom once again. The air is cool and light with a new feeling to it. The sun is high in the sky, shining down on the people as they burst with activity, moving from shop to shop or even from home to home, go get their daily chores done.
Northwest opens up into a rather large square, called the River Plaza, which continues on toward the NorthHarbor Docks. Southeast looms the White Tower, that seems to spire high in the sky and watch over the people in Tar Valon. Tower guards stand on either side of the gate, watching people enter and leave with a hawkish eye. To the south, one may enter Alindrelle Square.
Contents: Dorian, Meeko, Aillande
Aillande walks onto NorthHarbor Road, coming from the southeastern gates of the White Tower, watched carefully by the Tower Guard.
Aillande wanders down the road, just out for a stroll.
Dorian sits on a crate outside of the guardhouse. He's not in the Guard greys, but seeing as how he's sitting there working a whetstone over his sword, it's a safe bet that he's probably at least affiliated with them.
Meeko comes out of the City Council Chambers and stops. She begins to stare at the Guard Office, her eyes growing distant and as a shiver runs through her. She knows he is in there and a part of her, the part that loved him, wants to visit the man that threatened to kill her last nite but the sensible part says no. Meeko is torn as she stares at the building.
Suddenly seeing a familiar face, Aillande turns toward the woman that just came out of one of the buildings. She inclines her head a fraction, and greets. "Hello, High Ambassador. How are you today? I heard of the terrible thing that happened to you. Simply awful..."
Gregory walks onto NorthHarbor Road, coming from the southeastern gates of the White Tower, watched carefully by the Tower Guard.
Gregory enters the guard office.
Only the sound of her name pulls Meeko out of the trancelike state she is in. Looking up she nods to both Dorian, the man she saw last nite and to the woman who spoke "Sedai." She is most definately not herself, no emotions showing on her face save the occasional glance she makes toward the building that houses Kirill.
Not exactly used to people ignoring her, even if it is the High Ambassador, Aillande tries to catch the woman's attention once more. "Excuse me... High Ambassador Meeko? Are you alright?"
Dorian blinks... Sedai? Dorian casts a quick glance at the woman he assumes Meeko referred to.. then he looks bck at Meeko again, wondering if she's another one of those insanity cases in this town. Surely that woman can't be an Aes Sedai..
Meeko sighs at the question "I am doing well for just having my life threatened." Her voice is a bit cold as she speaks the words and the memories of what happened at the grove last nite.
Aillande draws closer, interested. "What really happened, Ambassador? All I have heard is bits and pieces from different persons.
Dorian glances back at his sword.. goes to resume his sharpening.. then a stray thought. Perhaps playing with his blade isn't a polite thing to do in the company of ladies. The more he thinks about it, the more he seems to think that sheathing the sword is a good idea. So away it goes.. and he rises.. just in case either may wish to go inside.
Shina walks onto NorthHarbor Road, coming from the southeastern gates of the White Tower, watched carefully by the Tower Guard.
Meeko shudders "Kirill, well we use to be friends and he went mad. His family, wife and children were killed and, well he came to me a few months ago not even knowing we were lovers. He, at that time called me some evil names and a witch. He vanished. Last nite he returned and demanded to see me but I was not at my shop only my woman Maria was. Well he grew angry, his temper is bad, and destroyed part of my shop. Then, well my guard Keats and I were at the Grove and he threatened to kill me, to hand our guts from a line between buildings and tried to leave. We stopped him is all, he is a danger to everyone right now in his state of mind."
Shina walks up flanked by her mountain man of a servant she moves near to Aillande and bows, "Sedai the dress you requested is nearly finished. This letter contains the billing information."
Shina smiles sweetly and offers a plain white letter to Aillande.
Aillande takes the letter with a thanx, puts it away, then turns back to Meeko. "How awful... A madman. I guess I'll be the one defending him then, so I shouldn't be talking to you about this..."
Meeko shrugs "I was hoping to go and see him presently would that be alright?"
Finally! Dorian has something to do! He speaks up.. ahem. "I b'lieve th'Captain's inside, if y'ladies're havin' any bus'ness in there.."
Aillande motions towards the Guard. "I can't see why not. Why don't we just follow this man's instructions...?"
Shina turns around and saunters off seemingly not intersted in this affair.
Shina walks to the southeast, entering the NorthHarbor Gate, under the watchful eye of the Tower Guard.
Meeko nods and slowly enters the guard house
You open the door and enter into the office.
Barracks: Guard Office, Tar Valon
Stark white walls greet your eyes, showing you a utilitarian office. A small corkboard lines the far wall, with it posted several notes and agendas used. Desks of all sorts and sizes, doubled with various chairs, appear to line the room, the area used for processing those which need to be held for one reason or another.
Outside you can hear the cheerful echos of various birds, greeting the season of rebirth. The room appears to be busy, as guards enter and leave the room, going to offices, desks or to the holding area.
A small door leads to the guards quarters, while a group of stairs lead toward the cells. A large door heads out into the street.
Aillande enters the office from the street.
Aillande follows Meeko, seemingly eager to please the Ambassador
Dorian enters the office from the street.
Dorian frowns as he steps inside with the ladies, finding the Captain's desk empty. "Hm. Hey.. I was sure 'e was inside.. I'll jus' run about and find 'im.. be back in a jiff.."
Dorian walks down the stairs
Meeko enters the office and grows a bit nervous. She really shouldn't face this man but she is drawn to see if, why he has turned on her so. "May we go down now?" she speaks to Dorian. She then nods as he responds.
Aillande looks over at Meeko, seeing that the High Ambassador has toruned a bit pale. "Are you alright, Ambassador? Are you sure you want this?"
Meeko nods "Yes I want to see him, afterall we were to be married at one point." she sighs again "as for being alright of that I am not sure." Meeko then rubs her eyebrow with a little finger, she strokes her chin nervously and begins to tap her fingers together in a nervous motion.
Dorian comes up the stairs
Aillande straightens from looking thoughtfully at Meeko, then turn to Dorian. "Is the prisoner ready to meet us?"
Dorian climbs back up the stairs, looking a little uneasy as he returns. "Ah.. 'pears I've got some questions' t'ask yeh both.. just procedure, y'know.. " Yes, he's clearly uneasy.. and new to this. Now where is that book.... there it is! He crosses over to the desk, flipping open a thick tome. "Here.. if y'could both put y'names down here?"
Aillande waits respectfully for the High Ambassador to sign first.
Meeko continues to tap her fingers together nervously, reservations about this decision run through her as she awaits facing Kirill. She nods to Dorian then goes over and puts down her full name and title carefully before stepping back and waiting for Aillande to do the same.
Aillande glides over with a small smile for the obviously new guard and signs with her name and House.
Dorian checks over the names.. then nods to himself, taking the pen (quill?) in hand as he readies his questions. "Er.. right.. so.. for th'record.. who've y'both come t'see?" Meanwhile, he scratches in what appears to be the time of day...
Meeko grows a bit impatient at this point "The prisoner Kirill the man that threatened to kill me."
Dorian glances up, then quickly down at the book again, scratching Meeko's answer in as well. "uh.. right then." Um.. there's gotta be something else.. he quickly looks around for inspiration.. and.. aha! "Are either of y'carrying any weapons? Y'll have to leave 'em here.. t'be returned when y'leave, 'course.."
Aillande nervously fingers her signet ring. It is, of course, picturing the symbol of the Aes Sedai, and a fist upon it, for unity. She carefully plucks a knife out of each of her boots and puts them on the guard's table.
Meeko nods and places 4 throwing daggers on the counter, the same daggers that the previous nite were embeded in the man in the cell.
Dorian watches the knives wide eyed.. then looks at the women in what could almost be considered an aghast manner. "Uh.. Okay then! I guess.." Dorian hrms, glancing at the stairs.. oi. Gregory better be ready. "I guess that's it, then! Follow me, ladies..."
Dorian walks down the stairs
You walk down the stairs.
Dungeon: Guard Office, Tar Valon
What you see before you is a basic, functional dungeon. Several rows of cells appear down a long corridor, each with a cot, a set of bedclothes, a waterbasin and it's own set of bars. The room is chilly and dank, no matter the time of the year, and does not seem to have any light other than that created by the lanterns upon the wall. There is a pair of steps leading back into the guard offices.
Contents: Dorian, Gregory, Kirill, Meeko, Aillande
Aillande walks down the stairs.
"Uh.. ambassador Meeko Unega, Captain.. an.." *gulp* "Aillande Sedai.." Dorian announces the pair of visitors once they follow him downstairs.
Wyntere walks down the stairs.
Gregory is just finishing a talk with Kirill, his face emotionless and cold. Gregory nods once to Dorian, motioning him to the foot of the stairs. "Give them privacy, lad, but be ready incase something happens. You never know
Dorian's eyes widen.. the Captain's leaving him down here, with them? Okay. The Captain just made Dorian's insane people list. But, an order's an order, and Dorian nods.. "'course, sir.."
When Kirill see's that it is meeko and her assortment of friends he backs away from the edge of the cell where he was talking with Gregory. He isn't about to let them get within touching range not that that would do any good with a freely channeling darkfriend in the room.
Gregory is just finishing a talk with Kirill, his face emotionless and cold. Gregory nods once to Dorian, motioning him to the foot of the stairs. "Give them privacy, lad, but be ready incase something happens. You never know what'll happen down here." With that, the Captain walks up the stairs.
Gregory walks up the stairs.
Aillande steps back a little too, giving Meeko the opportunity to at least be a little private with the prisoner.
Soft steps come down the stairs, Wyntere face looks determined. She nods to the Captian who just passed her and then stops inside the doorway. The young lady has one hawk upon her shoulder, and a younger hawk cradled in her arms. Glancing up at Dorian, the girl nods to him. "I was told I could find the Ambassador here." A messenger runs down the stairs and hands Aillande a scroll before bowing and vanishing as quickly as he came.
Aillande forrows her eyebrows, but the scroll disappears the same way as the letter.
Okay.. this is getting out of hand. Dorian glances at Meeko and Aillande to make sure they're not doing any funny business, thenhe focusses on Wyntere. "Uh.. did you sign y'name in the registry?"
Wyntere glances up to the man and nods. "Of course. I can prove it to you if you want me to." Her blue eyes glance back to him. "When the Ambassador is finished with her conversation, I just need to see her. Well, not me but young Cale here." She glances to the hawk in her arms. "He... he wasn't very careful." That were she leaves that. No, she isn't here to see whatever man is behind bars. "My name is Wyntere, sir. How do you do?" Yeah, why not talk to these gaurds til Meeko is finished with the man. Wouldn't hurt her at all.
Kirill looks to the women and to meeko in particular and sits down on his cot. "I have nothing to say to any of you, particularly you Meeko."
Dorian eyes the hawks warily.. technically they're not weapons, no.. but if thise girl's with Meeko.. and something bad happens.. (yes, he's trying to take this job seriously!)...well.. it's not like he could have asked her to surrender her birds upstairs. "Well.. sure. She's ah.. over there.. but th'captain recommended them havin' a bit o'privacy.. so's y'll have't'wait." There.. that didn't sound too unnofficial, right? "I'm ah.. Dorian. Er, Bannerman Dorian."
Meekos eyes lock on the man she once knew as a kind man. A man gone crazy "hello Kirill I trust they are treating you well." her voice soft and controlled as she is oblivious to all around her at this point. She reaches up and strokes her neck at the place the collar use to be, the collar Kirill gave her. She remembers the tatoos they wear, a matched pair, stating their undying love and now this.. Shock, confusion all run through the High Ambassador.
A hawk as a weapon? No... well, yes, they can be, but no you wouldn't get these two hawks away from Wyntere. The tower tried that one. The younger hawk is craddled on his back, very much like a baby. Now go figure how she managed to keep him calm like that! She sees the wary eye. "These hawks will behave, sir. Don't worry. Yes, they can hunt, but I'm not here to cause trouble. Cale here ran into a bit of trouble during lessons that needs the Ambassador's attention when she's through." Nah, doesn't sound too serious and it isn't. "Bannerman Dorian, it's nice to meet you. So, your in the gaurd? You know, Paulo is a great tailor and many of the gaurd go to his shop for clothes, repairs, and boots." Hmm.. little sells person isn't she?
Kirill shrugs and lays back on the bed, "You and I both know I'm a dead man. Either at your hands or one of your little minions. I have named you Darkfriend, and for that you will die."
As removed as he is, Dorian still catches the occasional snippet of conversation from across the dungeon.. Darkfriend? Oh my. "Oh..um.. yeah. Don' have m'uniform on, obviously.. was off duty. An' I gotta have the thing altered, anyways... Paulo's, y'say?"
The color drains from Meekos face as she steps back, nearly bumping into Wynter "You have what? You have lied about me? What in the Light have I ever done but love you Kirill that you would be so cruel." hard and cold the voice comes from Meekos mouth almost as if it were not hers she is in such shock.
Kirill lays back on the bed calmly ready to meet his maker. He certainly isn't acting the part of the crazed lunatic that the Ambassador paints him out to be. He has no further words for her and so remains silent.
Aillande stands in a corner, shocked. Clearly, he must be a madman to accuse the High Ambassador of something like this. Being of the Yellow Ajah, however, she knows that the most calm lunatics often are the most dangerous...
Another guard, this one looking not so green in his boots, arrives, and pulls Dorian to the side. "Hey, Dorian.. Captain Gregory sent me down.. he wants to see you in uniform /pronto/... you'd better go and get suited up." Dorian blinks, looks down at his clothes.. oh cripes. "Hey.. uh.. Wynter y'said? I'm gonna haveta go.. um.. Georg, 'ere.. great guy." He turns to Georg. "Um... y'make sure the prisoner causes no trouble, eh? Or the visitors f'r that matter?" At Goerg's nod,
Dorian makes haste up the stairs.
Wyntere moves back a little as Meeko comes her way. She glances up to the gaurd rushing out. Leave me in charge! Gosh, these two ladies will...gulp. One's Meeko the Sage and the other... is a witch from the tower. Wyntere moves over to the side of the door and sorta smiles a little at the others. Hmm.. gaurd these two? Oh boy...
Meeko turns as the tears fill her eyes, only then does she notice Wyntere and the hawks. Animals of freedom and beauty she stares at them wishing she could fly as they do to clear her mind. Pain surges through her as the words from her lover drive hard into her heart "I am not dark I ..I.." she breaks down into tears and grows unable to speak.
Kirill reamains silent and not about to talk as they haven't even said why they came. He is surprised though that they let Meeko down here to speak with him especially since it was she he supposedly tried to kill.
Wyntere moves over to Meeko's side and places her free hand gently on the woman's shoulder. The other arm cradles the young hawk. "Meeko, whose going to believe the words of a man that tried to murder you? It's alright." Wyntere's blue eyes glance up over to Kirill as she tries to put things together. Then she looks up at the wit..Aes Sedai.
Meeko takes one last look at Kirill then turns back to Wyntere "Please come with me I need a friend right now." Meeko then heads toward the stairs, slowly and shakily she hesitates at the bottom and looks to the Sedai "Please treat him well the man is very sick." she says softly.
Aillande nods to the High Ambassador. Aillande has always wanted to study mental illnesses. But that comes later. Now, she has more important things to see to. "Kirill, I'm to be your attorney. I will attend to some other matters, then we must go over what we will do at the trial." Turning to Meeko, she comforts. "Wyntere is right. No one will believe these ridiculous charges of a madman."
Kirill shakes his head, "No Sedai." Well that was short and sweet. He doesn't even bother to look in her direction or even open his eyes from where he lays on the cot.
Meeko just shakes her head as the tears stream down her face and goes up into the guard office

Wyntere comes up the stairs
Wyntere glances to the witch and nods to her. I can be nice to her. I can be nice to her. But one can see that Wyntere is nervous around Aes Sedai. She looks to Meeko and smiles. "Of course, Meeko. Besides, Cale here needs your help." Wyntere follows Meeko quickly. Reaching the top of the stairs Meekos goes over and collects her daggers. She then walks silently into the street.
You open the door and exit the guard offices.

Aillande walks into the street, exiting the guard offices.
Wyntere walks into the street, exiting the guard offices.
Aillande walks to the southeast, entering the NorthHarbor Gate, under the watchful eye of the Tower Guard.
Wyntere follows along quietly beside the Sage. Both hawks stay very near her right now. "Meeko?" Her voice sounds a little worried.
Meeko stops at the calling of her name and turns to Wyntere "yes Wyntere how have you been. I am a bit surprised to see you out of the Tower." It is like Meeko is in shock at the events and is carrying on a conversation even though she is not all there.
Wyntere moves up to Meeko's side. "I've been out of the tower for awhile now, Meeko. I'm doing alright. Cale here needs you though. Some kid tried to shoot him down with an arrow." He's stable which is a good thing. Helps to be able to talk to him. She bites her lip a bit and is going to get Meeko out of this slump. Some how... no plans yet, but she's going to do it somehow.
Meeko nods and reaches out to the hawk. She begins to communicate with the animal although her actions are almost mechanical. She heals any wounds the animal has then turns to Wyntere, a stray tear rolls down her cheek "There he will be fine and I told him to remain close to you and Lady." she attempts a futil smile "I have been quite busy being High Ambassador now and was working on a project to present plants and grain to farmers hardest hit by the storms so I have not been out and about much." she turns and stares at the jailhouse "Wyntere I don't understand, I loved that man and he me and now this." turning back Meeko touches her hand to her chest and drifts again into a distant stare. She remembers the nite they both got matching tatoos and now all it brings her is pain. She considers removing it even if it means cutting the cursed thing off her body. The pain would be little compared to what Kirill is trying to do to her.
Wyntere glances down to Cale and then sets him on her hand. Then she hurries towards Meeko again and slips her free hand into the Sage's hand if she lets her. "Meeko...things are going to be okay. You watch and see. I don't know why he'd do something like that. You're a great friend and I know the farmer's have been enjoying the help you give them. Some mention it when they come into Paulo's." Okay, she's terrible at this. And there's a nagging question in her mind that she isn't going to ask here. Glancing to Cale, she embraces and speaks with him softly. He knows to stay near. It was just a silly kid around where they were practicing.
Meeko takes the offered hand gratefully "thank you Wyntere I just know there will be some that will believe I am what he said." she cannot even say the words "I am running for High Ambassador again and this will, it will ruin everything if they believe him." Meeko looks into the distance "I could use something to drink about now, shall we go to the cafe or something?"
Wyntere glances up to Meeko and grins. "Sure, Meeko." Then Wyntere stops and stares up at Meeko a moment and then shakes her head no. Nah, Meeko can't be. Foolish man. "Come on, let's get a drink. And you relax. Everything will be fine. You aren't what he says and I know this. People will see all the help you've done and won't believe him."
Meeko just nods and slowly walks down the street to the plaza.

Osendrelle Square: Tar Valon, Tar Valon
Buildings made of white stone are etched in the shapes of fanciful shells or waves that are meant to dazzle the eye. Everything within the square and on the streets beyond seems to have been made for sheer beauty, as if to show off some great skill. Small statues, crevices and friezes help to decorate the Inns and shops that line the streets. There is a large statue in the center of the square, in the shape of the White Tower, with the Flame of Tar Valon emblazoned on a small flag, honoring the Aes Sedai and their work.
Birds fly by overhead, singing in cheerful tones, allowing people to know that spring has arrived and it's time to start anew. The square is a bustle of activity. People walk to and fro to tend to their needs. Peddlers hawk their wares in the streets, looking hopeful that a passerby will stop. Sounds of the city clamour can be heard and wagons pass back and forth for business needs.
Several different directions spout off from the square. The main exit leads toward the White Tower itself, making the square a center of traffic and other events. Three more exits lead down private roads, towards the southern most villages outside of the city.
Contents: Angharad, Meeko, Wyntere
Wyntere strolls into Osendrelle Square from the northwest, leaving behind Luadge Street.
Meeko continues to walk with Wyntere toward the square "Wyntere how could he call me such things? I .. I have never done anything to him" she sighs again "He really wanted to kill me."
Angharad is just walking out of the Tower grounds, she's weaving Air right now, commanding a stack of six books in front of her as she walks along. Held to her chest is a notebook, guarded by her arms. It appears the Accepted is off to find a quiet place to do some research.
Wyntere walks along and then steps in front of Meeko. "Meeko, look here. If you keep this up, then people are going to start wondering. Are you or are you not a follower of the Light? If you are, then stop this nonsense. People can see that you are a good person. You helped in the relief of the surrounding towns and are now helping the farmers and think of all the kids you delivered and people you help here. That's what people notice and that man is a looney. No one is going to believe him."
Dorian enters from the south, coming from SouthHarbor Road.
Meeko stops as Wyntere steps before her and listens "I know Wyntere but with all that has been going on lately people are quick to jump when someone, anyone is called a Dark Friend." she looks up at the tower and the black mark there "They say the Dark one himself marked the Tower and is returning and .." she sighs "I just don't know what to do I never expected this type of thing from a man I loved. I suspect the loss of his family for the second time, jsut sent him over the edge."
Darial enters the Osendrelle Square through the Osendrelle Gates of the White Tower, watched by the hawkeyes of the Tower Guard.
Angharad starts to head down Treesingers Avenue, but can't help to turn and arch an eyebrow at the conversation between Meeko and Wyntere. Angharad frowns just a bit, shaking her head at something, the floating books in front of her forgotten for a moment..
Dorian has his thumbs tucked into his belt as he walks along, whistling. He seems for all the world like a man simply out for a stroll.. not the guardsman he's supposed to be. At least, he would, were it not for the uniform. As if on cue, as Dorian's thoughts drift to that uniform, it starts tiching, cutting short his little ditty as he scowlsand scratches at his chest.
Darial strolls out of the White Tower courtyard, perhaps on an errand. He moves with a certain sense of purpose.
Wyntere looks back up to Meeko. "Good, let him have -that- place." She tilts her head towards the tower. Nope, she doens't like the tower one bit. "But -you- he can't have. And some people just don't think straight. It's like, Oooo... our nightmares are coming true so if we kill everyone, it can go away. That's hogwash! Now, you hold your head high and stop this worrying. You've really turned this city around and no one is going to forget that anytime soon. Understand?" Yes, it's a girl telling the Ambassador how things are.
Meeko nods "I mean no harm to anyone Wyntere and love helping others. I guess it is just the sadness to see a man like Kirill so torn and ill. He taught me a lot about thief catching and all and I wear his mark, a mark I am soon to remove as I don't care to be associated with him any longer." at this point Meeko reaches in and pulls out her dagger, she then pulls open her blouse to expose a tatoo on her upper check, it is small of a flame with a hawk on it. She takes the dagger and moves to cut the thing from her body, that is if no one stops her.
Angharad purses her lips and shakes her head. Such an ... uplifting conversation. Angharad turns around, and seems to spot both Dorian and Darial at the same time. For a moment, Angharad just stands there, looking between the two.
Wyntere embraces now and weaves air around that knife to prevent Meeko from cutting herself. "Hold it there, Meeko. We can figure out another way to remove it. But here in the plaza! Come on. Snap out of this. You're the Sage in this town and how the heck are people supoose to get help if you are in this self wallowing, self-pity mood. Answer me that? Even Ladyhawke told me that you aren't yourself. And you know animals can sense things far greater than humans. You are wiser than this. Forget the man, Meeko. He's a loon. A crazy man that tried to kill you. Let him serve his fate. I'm telling you, no one believes a man that snaps like that." No, she has no clue Angharad is nearby or any others are around.
*Scratch scratch* Oi. It's going to be a while before Dorian's comfortable in these things. Already he misses his old shirt, as ugly as the durn thing was. Finally, he casts his attention back outwards.. and sees a woman in a white dress with a stack of books floating beside her. You know.. this city... then Dorian blinks. "Angie?" he blurts.
Angharad flips her gaze to Wyntere quickly, then shakes her head at herself. Angharad isn't about to complain, cutting oneself is silly, in Angharad's opinion. Then she turns back to Dorian, and smiles. "Dori? Light! Look at you! A guardsman?" Angharad waves a hand, and the books follow her as she crosses the space between Dorian and herself. Angharad moves to poke at the tunic playfully. "Fits well."
Darial looks a little less decisive when he sees Angharad. And her brother. He glances back toward the Tower. Nothing wrong with a judicious retreat.
The weave comes toward the knife and nudges it before melting. Meeko, startled jumps and cuts herself, not badly though and squeals, dropping the knife. "I..I suppose this is foolish doing it in public." she stares at Wyntere "you, You can channel? Are you a Sedai now?"
Dorian grins broadly, tapping his thumb against his chest.. almost proud. Not quite, but almost. "Fits well.. but the bloody thing itches like.. hey!" He grunts as she pokes, playful or not, then sniffs. "You're lookin' at th'newest member o'the cavalry.. Hey, isn't that th'guy I met at th'trainin' yard th'other day?" Dorian asks, spotting Darial about face.
Angharad wrinkles her nose and grins broadly at her brother. Then she follows his gaze and something flicks across her face before she clears her throat. "Trainee Darial, do me a favor and come over here. These books are getting heavy."
Darial stops in the process of making an about face. He sighs silently and goes over near Angharad with a bow in her general direction. "You're not holding the books, Accepted."
Dorian glances between the Accepted and the trainee.. "You know... oh, right. 'Course y'know 'im, if he knows you. Uh.. hello'gain, Darial." He fights to keep from breaking out into a smirk at the trainee's response to Angharad.
Wyntere blinks as her weaves fade away. Alright, now. I -know- I did that one right. "Meeko..."
Wyntere glances at the blood and shakes her head. She pulls off her gloves and then pulls out a clean handkerchief. "Here, Meeko. And yes, this is foolish doing that in public." Cale is now sitting with Ladyhawke in a nearby tree. Once Wyntere started fussing they took off. She holds up her hands without a single ring on them. See, no serpant ring. "No. I'm not one of those witches. I never wanted to be, remember? I am not a part of that place anymore. Weste let me go." Those blue eyes look to Meeko's as if saying she'll explain everythingelse later.
Angharad arches an eyebrow in Dorian's direction. "You know this annoying whelp of a trainee, Dorian? Hmmm, my apologies for not warning you first." Then Angharad waves a hand and the six books swing to stop in front of Darial. "If you would, Trainee, they are -still- heavy, even if I am not holding them. I am off to the Grove, do bring them along." Then she smiles at Dorian. "You come as well."
Meeko holds the hanky on the wound and listens to Wyntere "I am glad you are free Wyntere, everyone should be free." she has little recall of what just happened her mind is not fully here "I suppose we should go get that drink at the cafe I am a bit parched."
Darial frowns at Angharad. "I do have other things to do besides come and your beck and call, Accepted." Still, he takes the book, even if he grumbles a bit more.
Dorian doesn't even bother to hide his extremly amused grin. "So /this/'s what they've been talkin' bout.. " he says, more to himself really than anyone else. "The grove? D'you mean the.. er.. th'Ogier grove? Been meanin' to get me a looksee't that place.."
Meeko heads to South Harbour road and the Cafe.
You walk to the south, heading for SouthHarbor Road.
SouthHarbor Road: Tar Valon, Tar Valon
There is a distinct difference of structure in this area, almost as if it were man made instead of Ogier. Inns and merchant houses are decorated with statues, niches, and friezes in an attempt to imitate the original stone masons. The roads are paved in cobblestone instead of the large smooth paving blocks of the main city, depicting this area to be newer, even if by thousands of years, than the rest of the city.
A slight chill still remains from the winter season, however its easily forgotten with the blooming flowers and the singing birds of spring. People can be seen headed southward to the docks to get on with the days business. Merchants and peddlers try to capture one's eye by shouting and waving around their different wares. Children play along in the streets crying out merrily during a game of tag.
Large white gates loom before you to the northwest, leading into the Courtyard of the White Tower. The path that leads to Osendrelle Square lies to the north. Waterman's Plaza can be found by traveling south on the wide stretch of road.
Wyntere walks in from the north, turning from Osendrelle Square.
You go into the Candlekeep Cafe
Candlekeep Cafe: Tar Valon, Tar Valon
Built on the ruins of an old tavern that burned down several winters ago, better known to the older inhabitants of Tar Valon as Will's Tavern. The new owners have come in and resurected the structure from the fire damage that was keeping the property condemned. Brand new woodwork of maple has been put up. Multiple tables are spread out across the room and in the back a few couches are placed for people to enjoy a nice spot of tea. For tea is what this place sells. Safe enough for young adults to converse a late night of philosphy without worrying about drunken riots going on. The small kitchen also provides its patrons with some small snack food, serving just that with tea instead of full meals that they can get at the many restaurants that exist in the city. To one side of the cafe lies an opening that leads to a small library for patrons to browse and enjoy a tome of knowledge while they enjoy their tea.
Wyntere comes in from outside.
Wyntere glances over to those around and then makes a calling sounds to the birds. Her gloves are back on by the time then take up perch. "Meeko, Freedom is relative. Free from what? The tower? To do what? Learn to live by the rules of a city? I am not free to channel at my wish. I am not free in many ways. there is no such thing as true freedom unless you go to the woods to live. And even there, you answer to the call of the wild and nature." As she enters the cafe, she leaves, the two birds outside and glances for a table.
Meeko just nods to Wyntere and then heads to the cafe. Once there she finds a table by the window and sits. The server, use to her by now, brings over a pot of tea and two cups "I know Wyntere but this is very difficult. Someone I trusted turned on me." she looks to the girl "I am very happy you left the tower and as for the city there are rules but nothing like they have in there."
Wyntere sighs and nods to you. "Yes, someone you trusted turned on you. That's life, Meeko. Who is there in this world that we can trust?" Then Wyntere leans back and tries to relax. "I kept my end of the bargain between Weste and I. My block is broken and therefore, she let me go. There are many in the tower that don't like that. I am hardly trained, except I know a little about air. Speaking of which, why did my weave fail? I had that right." She looks to you again. Oh no, that doesn't just get by someone.
Meeko looks up from her gaze into the teacup "I.. well.." she reaches into the pocket of her cape and pulls out a medallion "I still have this Medallion I took the nite Mez'Tolth was killed. It melts weaves and I have to return it to the Amyrln when she calls for me." Meeko carefully places the thing back into her cape for safe keeping. "I wish I could help you learn more about channeling, that weave you did today was fine." oops a blocked wilder wouldn't see a weave let alone know what it was "I still have my block because they couldn't help an old woman learn."
Wyntere tilts her head to the side. "We should talk later then. I don't know how I broke my block. It just happened. I think Weste helped." She shrugs. "What is your block? And...how'd you know my weave was fine? Alot of the time, I don'tkow what the heck I'm doing. Like, I just talk to Lady and Cale. I have no clue on those." Oh, she'll call you on it too.
Meeko shrugs "I am blocked with animals, I can only channel, and at that I cannot control it when animals are present. That is why I keep Misty with me so I can heal." she ignores the comment about the weave realizing she is making mistakes in her state of mind. "Where are you staying now that you are not in the Tower? What are your plans?" yep that's it, change the subject.
Wyntere tilts her head. "Meeko, you aren't making sense. You are blocked with animals. That means you can channel when an animal is present. And Why can't you control it? You heal. Even i can control my talent of channeling without taking in too much. I just have no clue what to do sometimes." Yes, you are making lots of mistakes. "I'm staying with Paulo right now. Ladyhawke still perfers your place though. I think she needs a break from Cale at times."
Meeko sighs "When an animal is present the channeling just happens Wyntere, I do not control it.. it just is." she smiles a bit "My home is always open to you and the hawks you know that. I do have to see Paulo oneday, I need some new pants.." still dazed, still in shock Meeko is gonna have a lot of explaining to do at the trial, to Sionil, to the Amryln herself.
Wyntere nods. "Paulo can make them for you." Wyntere leans back and tilts her head. Something is strange with you and this channeling, but she can't pinpoint it yet. "I see what you mean about the channeling though. I still don't understand why you would know what my air weave was suppose to look like though, if you can't form the weaves and know what you are forming." Just won't let it go will she?
Meeko looks at you puzzled 'i didn't even know you channeled Wyntere. How could I I can't see a weave or even know when someone embraces." yep she is confused but not surprising with the events of the past few days.
Wyntere shakes her head and lets it go. "Alright, Meeko. You need rest. You have to get your wits about you if you are going to handle things coming up."
Meeko finishes her tea and nods "I suppose your right. I was planning a big affair at the Inn, or maybe the grove, not sure where. Anyway I was trying to get entertainers together, or people that like to entertain for fun, to show off and at that time give the plants and grain I have been gathering to the farmers or anyone that is in need of them to boost their crops." she gazes out the window "I suppose I should forget about that now.. seems so small compared to what is going to happen to me now."
"Meeko, can I see that medallion for a moment? I want to look at it." Wyntere then looks out the window. "The grove is a better place. And if you don't carry out what you are planning you are going to dig yourself a grave. Meeko, stop dodging things with me. You are more scatter brained right now than you should be. It's like getting upset cause a kid in elementary school called you a poodie head."
Meeko looks up to you "Wyntere what he said was a serious accusation and if the Sedai want they can force truth from all." she hesitates "I am not suppose to let anyone see the medalion. I simply forgot I had it with me for safe keeping.
Wyntere turns back to Meeko and then lowers her voice. "Then what is it that's making you so scared? You aren't one of them, are you? Aes Sedai can force truth and you follow the Light, so you are safe." Yes, you are just digging your grave. "Now, why are you worrying? You are going to hold the thing for the farmers anyway and show them that you are one who serves the Light."
Meeko looks around the cafe "Wyntere, my best friend in the world died and it was discovered she was a dark friend how is that going to look. I didn't know.. honest." she looks to you wondering how much she can trust you as she sorely needs someone to help in her dilema.
Kradan comes in from outside.
"It was discovered. That doesn't mean proof. How many know she was your best friend?" Wyntere leans back in her chair and then embraces the source. And she's watching Meeko across from her.
Kradan quietly slips in. Pressing a hand against his head and mumbles uncoherently to himself. Letting his hand drop and sends his gaze roaming the room slowly, vision blurring over slightly.
Meeko shakes her head "most know she use to spend a lot of time with me. She never did like being at the Tower either and came to my shope to get away, much as you did." she looks up as she hears something, her face pales until she sees someone familiar to her "Hello Kradan."
Wyntere nods to Meeko and then glances in the direction that Meeko does and nods her head to the man. "Hello."
Kradan blinks and stumbles backwards into a chair and the person into. A blurred gaze shoots the voice... Umm voices as he mumbles an apology and nods his head softly in a slightly, "Light shine..." He mumbles again and squeezes his eyes shut, pressing a hand against his forehead and plops down on a empty seat. Frowning deeply.
Meeko temporarily feels relieved as teh questions end "Kradan what is the matter with you?" near genuine concern in her voice, least as much as she can muster up in her state of mind.
Wyntere glances over to the man and then looks at Meeko. "Should I try to help him out?" That would be a heck no. Wyntere can't do anything. But at least she offered.
Kradan rubs his temple with a soft groan. Shaking his head softly, murmurs, just barely enough to carry, "Nothing... I'm fine..." No he's not a good lier. Staying where he is, as when he moves. The room... rooms? Spin.
Meeko nods to Wyntere "please see if you can check him over." she turns to Kradan with that look of hers "Kradan what happened?" My not another victom "did someone attack you?"
Wyntere gets up and moves over to Kradan. Alright, Wyntere... how did those yellows do stuff? Then she sighs and glances back to Meeko. "Meeko, I can't. I can't heal." Okay, she's terrible too. "But I can tell he is dizzy." Then she thinks trying to figure out dizzy stuff. And.. nothing comes to mind.
Kradan snorts, only making him groan again and cluctch his head again, "No... No body is stupid enough too... Well most people... Its nothing... My head just hurts.. Thats all..." Blinking serveral times to try and unblur his vision...
Meeko gets up and goes over to Kradan "how many of me do you see Kradan?" she looks to his head for any blood "I know something is wrong so might as well fess up."
Wyntere sits on the table watching this exchange. "You aren't doing a good job of saying nothing, sir. Go ahead and tell her."
Kradan frowns at what he thinks is the /real/ voice... What maybe... No... Shaking his head softly and mumbles, "4..." As an answer.
Meeko shakes her head and laughs for the first time in days "Kradan one of me is enough now tell me what fun have you been having lately?" she looks to Wyntere and giggles again.
"Fun? He's dizzy. You think that's fun?" To Wyntere, that's a nightmare. But she smiles seeing
Meeko giggling. She looks to Kradan. "You know, sleep helps the dizziness go away."
Kradan slumps in his chair and frowns at the table-top, "Not tired... Aes Sedai." He harazads. Shrugging his his shoulder softly and answers, "Some trainee cracked me a good one yesterday...." Fun?
Meeko sighs "Kradan keeping awake is the best thing. Sometimes after a strike a person can die. Come let this Sedai do a probe and see if we can help you any." she tries to be encouraging.
Wyntere glances up to Meeko confused. But let's her handle this. Wyntere is not a sedai. "meeko, be careful calling yourself that." She whispers softly.
Meeko looks to Wyntere "I was speaking of you Wyntere. Kradan needs help and you can do it." she winks at Wyntere hoping she doesn't let on. Kradan already called her a Sedai so he may respond to treatment if he thinks a Sedai is helpping him.
Kradan blinks serveral times and frowns... Could of sworn one was a Sedai... Shaking his head and grunts, rubbing a hand against his head...
Wyntere glances to Meeko and frowns. "They will kill me for that, Meeko. And you can help him better than I can." Nope, she isn't playing along.
Meeko shrugs "it was worth a try.. Ah well." she looks to Kradan "well try and stay awake for a time and go see a yellos sister.
Kradan grumbles and shakes hish ead. Stumbling out of the room, still blurry and dizzy.
Meeko turns to Wyntere "let us go back to the shop and talk Wyntere."
Kradan leaves the cafe
Wyntere watches him stand up to leave and then looks up to Meeko. "See, you are a good friend." and then she nods. "I'll follow you."
