Scene: Infirmary, White Tower, Tar Valon.
Characters: Milli, Kirill, Chiara, Celes, Morillin, Melli, Sionil
Prelude: Tar Valon has been plagued with late events of mysterious origin. Wine has become vinegar in the space of moments, rare displays of clumsiness abound, and bad luck seems to be waiting for everyone. Milli walked into the courtyard, coming from a small errand in the City, when she found Kirill and Morillin there, Morillin looking ready to give Kirill a thump on his head from his lack of protocol. Milli, who has hired Kirill to locate three thieves who have stolen her purse, containing a valuable, personal item, is somewhat enamoured with Kirill, even knowing he is a womanizer of class. After dragging him up to her little world, the Infirmary of the tower, this is what happens...
Milli turns around to face Kirill at the door, speaking quite loudly. "Kirill V'anterian, I do believe you've lost your mind." Her eyes look up at you with something very close to fury. "Do you intend to get yourself barred from the Tower? Or worse, imprisoned? Aes Sedai are strict followers of Protocol, and demand courtesy. No less sisters of the Red Ajah!"
Kirill takes the verbal assault with a large grin that never wavers rom his face as he listens to Milli. Once she is done he winks at her, "I'm sorry I am in to good of a mood today to let anything bother me. I have a suprise for you...."
Milli doesn't let the words stop her. "Light! Are all men's head made of wood? You really don't seem to get it, do you? If you had offended her too much, she could have wrapped you up like a child and made you run away crying like one in no time!" Her finger pokes into your chest again, much like yesterday. "And yesterday you almost got yourself reported too. This time they'll report you for sure!"
Chiara enters the infirmary.
Kirill lets some of his joy depart and his countanance takes on a more pouting and sad look. "I will try to act more appropriate around the tower. Thank you for talking some common sense into me." his smile partly returns, "Now would you like to hear your suprise?"
Milli nods, some of the spark in her eyes lessening to a bit milder look. "Good. I wouldn't want you not to be able to visit me. Yes, I'd like to hear." Turning to Chiara, she smiles. "Ah, Greetings Chiara. You are having a good day off, no?"
Chiara enters the place, loking after her to wait for Celes who should come soon. "What? O no MIlli, it's not that day yet, is it?" she asks slowly, lookinf further towards the couple and she shakes her head yet looks questinoately at the wisdom, wondering about something that one might know.
Celes enters the infirmary.
Milli smiles at Celes as she arrives. "Greetings to you too. May the Light shine on you today. You will pardon my short greeting earlier on. She pokes Kirill in the stomach with a smile. "I had to have a little chat with him." As the note is stuffed into her hand she raises an eyebrow in question to Celes, but quickly recovers, calmly slipping the note up her sleeve dexterously.
Celes smiles laughingly at Kirill thinking that he deserves anything that might be coming his way and she goes for a couple of items in a back closet, mostly just a box that looks like it surprisinly has a ocuple of booksin it. She looks back at her sister smiling "I hid this for you. A peddler came. I think you will like it."
Suddenly, with a shattering noise, the windows nearest Milli blow out, tinkling pieces of glass flying through the room as a gale-force wind blows into the room. Aes Sedai and novices suddenly are running all over the place, while papers flutter madly about in the room.
Chiara quirks a brow on the note and MIlli's reaction, but she decides not to speak about that anymore
Kirill leans in and speaks softly to Milli, "Your dress will be done this evening."
Chiara blinks at that and she turns over to the window, joining the other students to get some papaers back, Her eyes are opened wide and she murmers some words not too good.
Kirill's hand reaches for a staff that isn't at his side as it normally is as the window blows open.
Milli screams as a few of the minute glass pieces hit her side, slicing into her skin. She quickly steps towards the door, dragging Kirill with her. "Light, what is going on?!" she shouts.
Celes drops to the floor, something hit her in the head, and the contents of the box spilled everywhere, she just lays therein a daze, not knowing where she is at or what is going on.
As suddenly as it begun, the wind stills and everything flutters down to the floor, letting the Infirmary grow deadly silent again.
Kirill manovers himself between the window and Milli as she pulls him along. More than content to let the women of the tower deal with things.
Celes tries to stand, but doesn't understand why her head hurts so badly, she looks down at the blood, and doesn't even realize it is hers. She cries but not over the blook but that two books are ruined.
Milli swears loudly, making a nearby novice look at her wide-eyedly. "Celes? Are you allright?" she asks, kneeling next to her.
Chiara suddenly stops, hearing her sister shouting and she turns around, she is not hurt and runs over to her, "Celes?" she asks, falling down next to her, "Sister?" she calls, looking around for one of the many sisters but all seem to be busy on the patients who could not duck.
Celes looks up at the woman strangly and gives out a groan as she collapses to the ground again. "My head." she holds up an arm covered with blood and that is when Celes passes out, when she sees a peice of glass , larger than what it looks, sticking out of her arms with blood rushing out of the wound.
Milli grabs a hold of her feet. "Kirill, give me a hand!"
Kirill reaches down and grabs where Milli says to, more used to knocking people out than helping them recover he is a lost puppy.
Chiara furrows her brows as she looks over it. To a rather quiet novice nearby she turns her face and sharply orders, "Don't just stand there, get some water and towels." The novice runs away but Chiara frowns and she looks over at the wisdom, noticing her wound too. "Don't check her, I will." she hisses angrily thrugh her teeth.
Milli lifts Celes up, and with Kirill's assistance carries her over to a bunk. Placing her on it, she shakes her head at Chiara. "I'm fine. This wound needs to be tended now." She walks with quick steps over to her desk, winding through the mass of confused people. Returning, she carries a bowl and a set of pincers.
Celes has turned a pale white/blue colour that says that to much blood is going out from her. She moans a bit and tries to wake up but the gash on her head as made sure that she will be out for a while.
Milli works with a quick practiced ease as she assesses the wounds. Looking at the freely running blood, she frowns deeply. "Chiara, can you delve her? I need to know how serious her wounds are, right now."
Chiara frowns but nods to that, "I know, but I might help her. I do not have any skill in Healing but I have been studying on a wisdom when I was litle." she replie, following the other woman. looking worried at Celes, "With the Power however I can delve her."
Milli nods, folding up a dressing and handing it to Kirill with a short "Hold this." She proceeds to dry away the blood on Cele's forehead, the water in the bowl quickly becoming red.
Kirill takes the dressing and holds it until needed, then takes a step back from the working females and just watches not sure. Backing up to the wall untill his back hits. His eye's taking in all carefully.
Chiara pouts her lips and she looks worried and her tone is grave. "The glass cas cut to the bone in her arm. Shje feels pain in her head I'm afraid but the worst is that she has lost incredible much blood." She looks at MIlly, awaiting any orders. ONce a novice comes by she looks at her, "go warning any Yellow Sisters available out of this room,." A passing sister carrying a crying child who looks at least as bad as celes nods.
Milli applies the dressing to the gash in Celes' head, nodding as Chiara speaks. "Do you know how to tie this off?" she asks, indicating the dressing. "I need to remove the glass."
Celes moans agian murmuring how cold she feels, barely audible, in a daze she starts to ask if those bloody books she got for Chiara was alright and asking if she was going to be allowed kitchen duty next week. She goes on and on in a state of shock.
Morillin enters the infirmary.
Chiara nods quickly, "Yes, I do." she replies quietly as she bends forward to gently hold the dressing in place and she looks at Celes wuith worried and curious but nothing else in her eyes. Just doing her job. "THis is really bad, MIlli. I do think we need someone with Healing here."
Milli swears again, looking worriedly at Celes. "Kirill, come here. I need you to hold her arm still."
Morillin comes striding in, scowling. "What is going on here?" she demands as soon as she enters.
Celes tries to move suddenly but collapses back on the bunk as she tries to cry out 'where am I?"
Melli enters the infirmary.
The infirmary is a mill of people running to and from. Glass is spread across the floor along with paper and other items, novices hurriedly trying to pick it up. Chiara, Milli and Kirill are at a nearby bunk, Celes lying on it with a dressing placed over her head, rapidly turning red from blood. She has a large gash with a protuding piece of glass in her arm, as well as other small nicks.
Chiara is too busy with tying the dressing on Celes' headwound and to have her quiet to even think of answering Morillin, or curtsye to her. ONe of the other novices hwowever who returns to the infirmary drops in a curtsey and starts to tell quickly, but a bit haphazourdly, "Thje... window... broke, glasses all through the place." Indeed, every Yellow around here is busy tending the patients who are heavily cut.
Melli widens her eyes at the mess... at all the wounded... all the cuts.. and she promptly faints right where she stands.
Celes passes out once more, breathing shallowly. Her skin is an eiry white and cool touch about it.
Morillin turns at the *thump* of Melli's collapsing, and mutters a curse under her breath. Bending down, she rests a hand on the Accepted's forehead.
Milli takes the pincers, no longer having time to wait. She clamps her hand down. Whispering quietly; "Hold still, child. This won't take long..." She calmly takes the glass piece with the pincers and carefully pulls the piece of glass out her arm, quickly as safely possible.
Melli comes awake with a start.. a little confused at first.. then she remembers where she is, and goes extremely pale. She tries to sit up..
Celes moans a bit, tears still finding a way to streak down her face. She opens her eyes breifly only to have them role into the back of her head and pass out agian.
Sionil enters the infirmary.
Celes is lying on a bunk bleeding badly
Morillin snaps at Melli, "Get on your feet, girl. Move!" She herself straightens with a rustle of silk. "Go and help a Yellow, if you can manage." Then, hands on hips, she turns to survey the rest of the room.
Chiara looks at Celes, carefully holding her head, bringing her hand over through the eyes to wave the tears away. She shakes her head but then looks at Milli, she is finished with her task. "What next?"
Milli quickly dries the wound, snarling as she fickles with a purse to open it. Taking a jar of some ointment, she opens it and applies it to the wound before placing another dressing on it and applying pressure to it to stop the bleeding. "We need Healing for this, I think."
Kirill stays where he is against the wall watching as the women scurry around the room. trying to stay out of the way yet somehow as near as possible to Milli as she works.
Sionil watches and tries to take in the meaning of the scene
Celes rambles on for several minutes that seems to relates to past events and fearing the tower and not wanting to go there. She continues for a few moments more and mentions a mother somewhere in there, but not real sure what the situation was about.
Melli winces at Morillin's biting tone.. and she quickly scrambles to her feet, pointedly avoiding meeting anyone's gaze, and doing her best to block out the blood from her mind. She tries to stick to the background.. but does as ordered, asking if anyone needs help in a near whisper of a voice..
Morillin does nothing to help. Instead, she watches those scurrying arorunshe room with a razor-sharp stare, lips pursed.
Chiara curses and turns around, looking for any accepted or Aes Sedai witha grain of Healing Talent in her. Without thinking she takes over a patient which seems fine now, "I can handle this one." she says and the yellow looks at her angrily but follows the looks and moves over towards Millli and the wounded Celes.
Celes moans a little bit more in her sleep saying something about a home she hasn't seen in a long while followed by something to the effect of but I don't want to go to the tower followed by out something else that says if chiara is ther it isn't so bad then. The rambling goes on and on.
Milli 's patience finally snaps, and she calls out quite loudly. "Can someone /please/ give me some assistance here?!" Clearly to any yellow sister happening to be nearby.
Chiara places a head on the child's face as she moves over towards a bed in which she lies it gently down. She looks at it before suddenly teh Glow of Saidar around her is added with the Sleeping Weave to tuck it gently into sleep. As sge does that the Yellow moves over to MIlli with a rather irritated glance. "I;ll help." she tells but her glance at celes is rather soft as she starts to weave the Healing.
Kirill looks uncomfortable in the room. Just how did he get mixed up into the middle of all this one second he is getting reprimanded by milli for his impropper actions with the Aes Sedai and now this.....
Milli nods at the Yellow sister, giving her room to work. Scanning the room carefully for any other patients who might need her help, she sees in satisfaction that everything is quieting down and that everyone is being helped.
Sionil looks interested, she wanders towards Milli, keeping out of the way where her talents do not lie
Milli sees Sionil approaching and waves her over. "Sionil, this is a good time." Seeing a nearby bed where two novices rather befuddeled are trying to calm down a young woman with small scrapes from flying glass across her forehead, she points over to them. "Can you give them a hand, you think?"
Sionil nods "Of course, I'll do my best, I don't know the weave unfortunately. I've only been shown it once. But I do know a little bit of non-powered healing."
Chiara looks over at Celes place but as the Yellow Sister begins to Weave deft strands of SPirit Air and Water she turns around, knowing her sister is in good hands and there are others who need her help. So she starts to work with patients and occasianally she picks up some papers from the Yellow's research.
Milli nods. "You'll find water, dressings and other things you might need at the treatment area. " she says, pointing in its direction. "Thank you."
Sionil nods towards the lady and quickly walks over to the counters
Milli nods, and sits down, looking to her own wounds. None of them are too severe, but pieces of glass seem to be stuck quite a few places on her arm. "Drats." she mutters silently, before taking the pincers, hesitatingly plucking a piece of glass from her arm. She pales a bit, dropping the pincers to the floor.
Kirill looks for a place to sit and watch, now that some of the confusion is gone from the room and order is restored.
Chiara notices Milli and she walks over to her quickly, shaking her head, "Stubborn you." she comments and she looks at the wound. "I can clean it and bound it."
Milli sighs. "I never was good at working with myself." She casts a glance towards Kirill, much of an apology in it, as if it was her fault it turned out his way.
Sionil takes several jars containing some bandages and a needle with a small jar of catgut
Milli nods. "Just let me remove the last of the glass.", she mutters, bending to retrieve the pincers.
Sionil walks back to Milli, "Here, If you need to give her stitches."
Milli starts plucking out another piece, but quickly pales again, looking quite ready to throw up. "Then again, perhaps you should have a lesson in cleaning wounds of foreign objects..." She holds out the pincers.
Chiara shakes her head and bites her lips, she furrows her brows and starts to get a small piece of cloth with water. "This will hurt." she warns and starts to clean, carefully.
Kirill takes his pad of paper and a pen and begins to write thoughts into it. wincing he looks at the glass in Milli's arm. He will have to heal her in his own special way.
Milli frowns suddenly, the paleness in her face fading into a more normal color. She casts suspicious glances towards the closest sisters.
Sionil looks over at Milli, "I hope you don't mind. It looked like you were turning into a spring leaf"
Chiara bends closer and finally she looks at MIlli, "May I delve you to make sure all of the glass is out of you?" she asks formally, expecting to be allowed though as she even starts the Weave.
Milli nods, but thoughtfully adds.. "But doesn't the weaves collide or something?" Clearly, she's been reading a bit about channeling, but not enough.
Sionil looks over at the several novices, "Let me go take care of them."
Milli nods to Sionil. "Do that. You're doing very well."
Sionil shrugs slightly "Not really doing much." and she goes over to the novices
Chiara shakes her head, "No, you'll only feel a little chill but no hurt is done to you." As she says this she dircts the weave carefully into Milli's temples to check her. She furrows her brows and startst o look about the wound again, finally she nods. "It's clean now. I'll bind it, I can only Heal bruises after all."
Milli nods. "Good." She gives a slight sSionil over at the novices looks back to the other two, "Can you two turn slightly, I'd like to see that weave."
Kirill writes furiously as something in his head catches his attention. with quick glances up at Milli.
Milli nods. "Good." A slight grin plays on her features. "If you haven't taken this lesson before, now would be a good time."
Sionil dabbing the bandage onto the novice's head, "I had a basic healing lesson, but Nata Sedai never showed me the healing weave because at the time I didn't have the skills to learn it."
Chiara looks curious at Sionil, hoping it wasn;t directed to her as she is busy with Milli and some bandages. Carefully she tries to wraps the white clothes around the woman's arm, looking up at her face to make sure it does not press too tight. Her voice replies Sionil lighthearted, "I will do it after binding this off, if My Power isn't needed for something else though."
Milli nods. "Tight enough to keep the wound from bleeding more, but not enough to stop circulation. Very good."
Sionil nods once to Chiara, before examining the novices head, "It looks likes a minor scrape," she tells the novice, "next time don't run around."
Milli turns her head to Melli. "Melli, would you please assist me and clean Celes up a bit? The Healing would have closed the wounds, so the dressings aren't needed. Just wash off the blood and put her in. She'll need rest."
Chiara shrugs eloquently after having the clothes bounded firm and steady. Letting go of Milli's arm she looks her over sternly, "Do not move. The healing woman who taught me this also told me it is the best thing not to move right away. Give that arm some piece of rest." That being said she turns over to Sionil and she calls, "Bring that novice here, I guess I could show you the weave right now." One more glance passes through the rooms to make sure all the wounded have been taken care up.
Sionil nods and walks over to Chiara, leading the novice to the others.
Melli looks over from one of the less bloody areas.. and nods her head, still looking as though her face had no blood in it whatsoever... She curtseys to the yellow she was helping, and heads on over towards Milli..
Milli nods, remaining in her seat. Raising her voice a bit, she says: "What do you suppose made the windows blow out like that? That was no normal wind, that's for sure. Did anyone feel anyone channeling or something?"
Chiara looks back at the novice and looks at Sionil after that, "Watch carefully." she orders before she Weaves thin threads of Air and Spirit together with a little Weave. Directing it to the wound it slowly closes
and she smiles at the girl. "Remember the have food and rest, though this is only a small amound of Healing used." She glances at Sionil, "I hope this is enough, I do not feel up for another Weave of that kind."
Standing, Kirill walks over to the window and runs a finger around all the edges inspecting the details. picking up pieces of the broken glass still on the windowsill and the floor nearby. His eye's searching for
details on what might have caused this problem.
Sionil nods "I believe I got it."
Chiara smiles and lets go of the Source,. Looking one more time at Celes and MIlli she turns towards the door, "I'll get some novices and servants to clean up here if you don't mind. It's really a mess." Curtseying to
the Sisters around she leaves.
Chiara opens the door and steps out into the hallway.
Milli looks over at Kirill. "Can you find anything, Kirill?"
Sionil glances over to the man.
Kirill shakes his head, "This looks terribly strange. Nothing shattered this glass but wind....." poking his head out the window he looks around ignorant to the healing going on inside, which he knows nothing about.
Milli shakes her head. "Strange indeed. That wind was much too strong for this kind of weather."
Sionil hmmm's "What happened, exactly?"
Milli shrugs. "Suddenly, the windows just blew in. A really strong wind tossed everything around, and something hit Celes. Much of the glass flew into people, that's what most the injuries are." She finally stands up, flexing her arm. "It was over before I could half think, too." She walks over to where the books Celes were giving Chiara and looks in dismay at the papers that are spread across the floor. She stops a novice passing. "Pardon me, would you be as kind as to take these books and take them down to the library? Ask a Brown sister if she could try to have them rebound." The novice nods, and starts picking the papers up.
Milli sighs, walking back to her chair, sitting down on it. "I think I need to go and get myself a glass of that mulled wine they serve at Will's tavern, once this settles down."
Sionil nods towards Milli.
Kirill walks back over to milli and runs his fingers through her hair once, "I would find it an honor if you allowed me to buy your drink. Perhaps afterwards we can stop by and get your dress from the Seamstress?"
Milli nods, her head limping a bit in Kirill's hand. "Yes, I think that would be nice."
Milli smiles towards Sionil. "Could you keep an eye out for Celes for a little while? If she wakes up, tell her to go back to sleep. She lost quite a lot of blood, and the healing probably took a lot out of her, too."
