Amyrlin's Office: White Tower, Tar Valon
Courtyard: White Tower, Tar Valon
Coerel
Gaelan
Raemira quietly walks down the stairs and starts to head toward the
stables. She appears to be dressed in riding gear. For once she does
not
appear to be looking where she is going, perhaps because she has
interests
in going elsewhere at the moment.
"The Captain..." Coerel stops amid sentance as he sees Raemira. He
watches
her for a moment.
Gaelan listens, then turns to see what as drawn his attention. Seeing
Raemira, he just watches her, somewhat unsure of the protocol.
In a low voice, Coerel says, "Excuse me, please." to Gaelen. He then walks
towards Raemira.
Gaelan nods, "As you wish."
Raemira continues walking toward the stables, still seemingly having not
noticed Coerel and Gaelan. Whatever it is, she appears to have some
troubling thought on her mind, or maybe it's not troubling at all.
Coerel quietly follows Raemira, curiousity plays across his features.
You push the sliding door and enter the Stable.
Coerel closes the sliding door as he enters the Stable.
Raemira walks over to a pretty grey mare, one that she had while she was in
Altara. After a few moments she turns around and gauges Coerel with a
discomforting gaze. She asks in a calm voice, almost emotionless, her
ageless eyes looking out at you, "Do you know why I have asked you to come
here?" She starts.
Coerel smiles softly, "I did not know that you even noticed I was there."
His smile fades at your gaze, and with it his snappy reply. A moment passes
before he answers in a level voice, "No, I do not. I have heard rumor that
you have been.. elevated to Amyrlin Seat."
Raemira turns her gaze to the horse instead, not intending to have put you
ill at ease. She gently rubs the gray mare's cheek, perhaps in order to
calm them both, "It's not just a rumor, Coerel. I /am/ the Amyrlin Seat."
You'll notice her voice gets a bit softer, even strained a little.
His expression softens as he regards you quietly for a few moments. Coerel
moves closer, patting the horse on the shoulder softly. His voice barely a
whisper he says, "It has been difficult?"
Tamarind closes the sliding door as she enters the Stable.
Tamarind slips into the stables quietly, searching the stalls for a
particcular face, and not seeing it, slipping as quietly away back into the
courtyard to continue her search.
Tamarind pushes the sliding door and leavess the Stable.
Coerel glances at the doorway at the interuption and then turns back to
Raemira as the woman leaves.
Raemira is currently patting a gray mare's cheek, looking away from Coerel.
She appears to be listening something, perhaps his words to her, however
she doesnot notice Tamarind slip in and out. Slowly, she nods to Coerel's
words, "Difficult does not even encompass it right. At ever turn it feels
as if there is someone out to take me down a peg or two, even though I /am/
doing a good job of things." She keeps her attention on her horse, perhaps
not willing to face Coerel, or perhaps trying to keep up that careful reign
of emotions only she is well known to do.
Coerel says "I am sure you are doing a wonderful job, Raemira. I've seen
you in action."
Raemira nods slightly, allowing herself the faintest of smiles, "Yes... you
have. That's one of the reasons why I asked you here. Well..." She pauses a
moment. "Partly anyway...." She furrows her brow a bit, perhaps uncertain
of something.
Coerel nods. He regards you with a concerned look, though at the same time
looks slightly confused.
Raemira asks curiously, "Coerel, what do you think of the Tower's ultimate
goals? Honestly? I know we've had this discussion before, but it's
something I need to know again, now."
Coerel is taken aback by the unsuspected question...
Raemira appears to be waiting quietly for an answer as she continues to
give the mare most of her attention, seemingly. Though you might get the
forboding sense that she is waiting to hear your words.
Coerel answers slowly, "It's hard to be preparing for the Last Battle if
the Reds are gentling every man they find. How is the Lord of Morning
supposed to fight the Dark one gentled?"
Raemira sighs slightly, chuckling a bit, "I suppose that was not the answer
I was looking for..." She turns to face you now, her face starkly serious,
her eyes too eminating that feeling, "I am the Amyrlin now Coerel... And
everywhere I turn there is deception and deceit, and it's becoming more
dangerous each turn. I am in need of someone to look over me and watch my
back, yet it is becoming more and more uncertain as to whom I can trust..."
She pauses a moment perhaps to let the words sink in, "If I can any at
all... Did you know that the old Amyrlin was killed?"
Coerel nods faintly, "I had heard rumors as I traveled north that she was
found with her Warder dead in their rooms. I was wondering what state I
would find the Tower in when I arrived." He does not turn away from your
gaze and looks deep into your eyes. He stands so calmly you can almost feel
the confidence eminate from him.
Raemira lifts her shoulders in a soft shrug, looking down for a moment. At
this very instant you get the feeling that this proud woman might have
something to ask that she'd really rather not, however it's perhaps vital
that she does, in the long run. She speaks softly, "It was rather....
messy.... to say the least. Many of them did not take too kindly to my...
"young age""
Coerel nods, "I see. So, you asked me here to watch your back for a while?
I will gladly do it, all you had to do was ask." He smiles at you, "I'm
sure you will have them thinking differently in no time at all."
You hear a slightly frustrated sigh come from Raemira's direction. "No...
Coerel... that isnt it at all.." She looks toward you again, eyes meeting
your own. "I called you here because I had wished to bond you... As my
Gaidin."
Coerel pauses for a moment. "Ah. What is it like being bonded? I have heard
all sorts of things about it, though I usually don't pay too much mind to
things like that." He continues to look in your eyes, his expression full
of trust, "Mind you that if you want it, I will grant it to you if it is in
my power no matter what the..." His voice trails off as though speaking
thoughts that he wasn't ready to speak.
You say "The option is yours Coerel. I cannot and will not force it on you.
Nor have I been bonded before to know. I have heard that you will feel my
emotions. You will not need sleep, food or water for several days. You
hardly ever tire, and you'll know if any darkspawn are near."
Coerel nods slowly, "Sounds wonderful, is there any drawbacks?"
Raemira hesitates before nodding slightly, "One.. and it is a grave
one...." She watches you with her calm expression, "Should I ever die, you
may not survive. You'll have this urge to either exact revenge on whatever
killed me, or if you cannot, be so overcome with grief that you'll make
yourself into a vegetable or just wither away and die.
A smile plays across Coerel's lips, "Even more reason to protect you, as if
I needed more incentive." He takes a deep breath, "When do we do it and
how?"
Raemira smiles slightly, seemingly pleased with the answer, "We can do it
right here and now, if I have your permission."
Coerel bows slightly, "Of course you have my permission, Lady Sedai. As if
I could say no to you." He smiles, apparently pleased that your pleased.
"What do I need to do?"
Raemira smiles gently, murmuring softly, "Just stand still...." She raises
her hand, her eyes watching your own, placing it gently on your cheek, "It
will not hurt. I promise."
Emitted to Coerel:
As Raemira lays her hand on your cheek you feel a sudden chill flow through
you, as if something were delving within your body. There you feel this
sudden *click* as if something had slipped into place. All at once, a
steady feeling enters within you, making you wobbly for a few moments.
His eyes never leave yours as he reaches out and grabs a handful of the mare's mane. Coerel breathes slowly, waiting for the diziness to pass.
The horse snorts a bit at the sudden movement, however seems calm other
than that. You'll notice Raemira smiling slightly as she now uses her hand
to help steding you, "That's it." She states simply, "We are now bonded.
Are you alright?"
Coerel forces a smile, "Yes, I'm fine." He releases the horse's main and
gives her a soft pat on the shoulder before removing his hand from her
completely.
Raemira nods slightly, appearing relieved? Well, you can certain feel the
relief passing over her. She speaks out softly, "I thank you... for
allowing me to do this. I also look forward to chatting with you. There are
things I need to discuss with someone and right now you are the only person
I can truly trust."
Tally closes the sliding door as he enters the Stable.
Tally glances in and blushes a little, quietly stepping back out.
Coerel turns at the sound of the opening door.
Coerel and Raemira stand close beside a grey mare, speaking quietly.
Tally winces and gives a salute, having to wait for a signal of permission
before he can leave now..
Tally turns bright red, "Pardon me Mother...I didn't mean to intrude..."
Raemira stands up a bit taller, raising a brow slightly, still more, "It is
alright student. You did not interrupt a thing." A cryptic smile appears on
Raemira's face, then she glances to Coerel, her eyes dancing slightly for
some odd reason.
Tally backs out hurriedly.
Tally pushes the sliding door and leavess the Stable.
Coerel chuckles softly.
