Quim sits down on the Wide Stone Hearth.
On the bench, Lanta says "I have been meaning to speak with you."
On the bench, Quim grins and says "That reminds me of two things first." he pulls his hand apart and seems to pull a rose from midair. "My way of saying thanks for our friendship." He sets it before her "And you meant to speak to me, of what?"
Saralae frowns slightly at Kelsyn and swallows a lump in her throat.
On the bench, Lanta smiles and takes the rose. "My thanks." She turns it around in her hands for a moment and says, "We've been friends for a long time, which i s why this discussion may prove uncomfortable for us both."
On the bench, Quim nods "And what is it about?"
On the bench, Lanta says "I have been recieving complaints about you and the Novices and Accepted."
On the bench, Quim says "I see, from who exactly?"
On the bench, Lanta says "Nata, who claims you were pumping her for information about your book. Trelaine, who it seems had a difficulty with you over her poetry . Whichever one of my students it was you felt you needed to threaten to spank. And need I /even/ go into the incident of the /hedges/ of the other day?"
Kelsyn just shrugs his shoulders in response to Saralae's words. "It depends on your perspective, Mistress" For once, his voice seems to hold a genuine gentleness to it.
Cassandra comes down the wooden stairs from the second floor.
Cassandra looks around the room.
Es comes into the common room from the stable yard outside.
Cassandra frowns slightly at all the Great Serpent rings and decides to head outside.
Saralae continues to talk quietly at her table with Kelsyn.
Es slips to Saralae's table.
On the bench, Quim sighs "The fates have just taken a bad view of me. The hedge was due to Trelaine's clumsiness, all I did was ask Megwyn about her family and she freaked. I admit I am at fault in some places, but these women can think for themselves and can get into trouble by themselves, I am not always to blame."
Saralae smiles slightly at Es as she returns. "Better?"
Es shakes her head.
Saralae sighs sadly. "Perhaps you need some fresh air."
On the bench, Lanta says "I agree. However, I don't wish for them to be frightened, nor for their studies to be interfered with. I understand that you have your research, but I would prefer if you refrain from questioning my students."
Es shakes her head again. "I'll be fine, sister.
On the bench, Quim says "I can't research without questions."
"I know what I saw are the same words. I do wish you would not waste your time." This time Kelsyn's voice is slightly edged. "I'd rather not talk about it. "
Morillin gives Analee a smile, drops a couple of coins on the table bes ide her empty plate, and rises.
On the bench, Lanta says "My thanks, Quim. We /are/ friends--and I would hate to have to request that you not be allowed on Tower grounds. This is a very difficult position for me, as I'm sure you can see. And now shall we turn to more pleasant matters?"
Morillin turns and strides towards the door, giving Lanta a respectful nod as she passes her table.
Saralae sighs heavily. She closes her eyes and nods.
On the bench, Quim nods, and glances at Sara "Do you know about her?"
Analee sits back as Morillin leaves and observes the people.
Lanta nods to Morillin as well.
On the bench, Lanta says "Know what?"
Morillin opens the door to the stable yard and heads outside.
Saralae mutters to Kelsyn, "... very hard... me to...trust...Warders.... am... you..."
Kelsyn turns his hardened eyes on Saralae, his words seemingly perhaps shedding a new light for her, He mutters to Saralae, "... am... a..." but they are said without emotion that it's as if he's also no longer a person either.
On the bench, Quim says "She talks to wolves, but don't approach her, she fears Aes Sedai."
On the bench, Lanta lifts an eyebrow. "Intriguing. She is not the first such I've seen."
Saralae shuffles out of the inn and crosses to her usual spot on the street.
On the bench, Quim nods "So she says, she seems to think they reside in the Entertainers guild."
Saralae opens the door to the stable yard and heads outside.
On the bench, Lanta says "It is an intriuiging phenomena, though perhaps slightly disturbing, as well."
On the bench, Quim says "Disturbing? How so?"
Es opens the door to the stable yard and heads outside.
Kelsyn sighs and rises from his chair.
On the bench, Lanta says "It is new, or at least not common...or perhaps old come again."
Kelsyn stands leaves the Fireside Table.
Kelsyn opens the door to the stable yard and heads outside.
On the bench, Quim says "And what is distrubing about the natural order of things? We are all old come again."
On the bench, Lanta inclines her head. "Perhaps."
On the bench, Quim nods "Other then dealing with complaints of myself what have you been up to?"
On the bench, Lanta says "Preparing a new sort of class on the Great Game, dealing with various reports, a raising here and there, and worrying about an Accepted of mine who has gone missing."
On the bench, Quim says "Yes, an woman by the name of Alys correct?"
On the bench, Lanta says "That's correct."
On the bench, Quim says "Any luck at all? No clues whatso ever?"
On the bench, Lanta says "The last person to see her was a proprieter at the book store, who said she felt ill all of a sudden, refused help, and left."
On the bench, Quim nods "I see, well I will keep my eyes open, I have some sources not available to such as you. Maybe something with turn up."
On the bench, Lanta says "My thanks."
On the bench, Quim says "The least I could do, seems I have to get on your good side."
On the bench, Lanta shakes her head. "Quim, I'm just trying to do my job."
On the bench, Lanta says "One or two times I could look away from, but three? Four?"
On the bench, Quim nods 'I know, I know. But it can't help."
On the bench, Lanta points at Quim with the rose. "We've discussed it. It's forgotten. Unless it happens again."
On the bench, Quim nods "Well don't jump to conculsions, there are some grudges there." he touches his eye "Tomar decked me because of the hedge incident."
On the bench, Lanta says "Yes, and I've already had words with him because of it ."
On the bench, Quim grins "How did you hear about it?"
On the bench, Lanta says "Because I had him in my office right with the Novices about it."
On the bench, Quim says "I see. Well I wish you hadn't done that."
On the bench, Lanta says "Wished I hadn't had him in my office?"
On the bench, Quim says "I wish you hadn't talked to him about it. It was really between him and me."
On the bench, Lanta lifts an eyebrow.
On the bench, Quim says "It is a male thing."
On the bench, Lanta says "It is foolishness, and so long as that foolishness occurs as an example set for my students, I /will/ take a hand in it, whatever the male egos involved say to the countrary!"
On the bench, Quim shrugs "I think I will no longer visit the tower anymore anyways. I seem to cause more trouble then anything else."
On the bench, Lanta says "That is, of course, your decision, Quim."
On the bench, Quim nods "The best for all. Good even and goodbye." He offers up a smile and a bow.
On the bench, Lanta says "Good even."
Quim stands leaves the Wide Stone Hearth.
Quim makes his way out whistling a tune.
Quim opens the door to the stable yard and heads outside.
Lanta sighs at Quim's departure, holding the rose. She murmurs, "How many more friends will you drive away then, /Aes Sedai/?" She rises from the hearth.
Analee watches Lanta rise. "Is something wrong, Lanta Sedai?"
Lanta blinks. She'd forgotten there was an Accepted in the room. "Nothing that time will not cure, Analee, thank you for inquiring."
Analee nods. "Of course. And if you'd like to talk...." She hushes suddenly, remembering who she is speaking to. A good listener or no, Accepteds do not counsel Aes Sedai.
Lanta smiles. She's hardly going to chastise the girl for a show of concern. " I thank you for the offer." Sobering now, "Don't stay out too late, Accepted. And be careful on your way home."
Analee nods. "I will be, thank you." She smiles.
Lanta smiles back and glides out, quickly.
[ --Scene Change: Stable Yard, Flaming Arrow Inn, Tar Valon -]
Tomar has his jacket slung over his shoulder and a confused look on his face. He glances up and smiles softly. "Sedai Lanta."
Lanta is sweeping out of the common room, looking slightly...her expression is odd. "Hello, Tomar. I apologize if I intruded upon your 'guy thing' the other day ." She smiles wanly. "Between you and Quim. I've just been rather firmly informed that it was quite the wrong thing to do."
Tomar bows his head to you and then blinks. "Excuse me Lanta Sedai?"
Lanta shakes her head and shoves her glasses up her nose. "I apologize, Tomar. I'm...not feeling well. I'm sorry."
Tomar raises an eyebrow and seems even more confused than before. "I just planted one of the shrubberies and...oh no Lanta sedai, no need to apologize...I'm just confused? Did you say it was wrong for you to intrude on Quim and I's argument?"
Atalanta says, "That is what he told me. It was, I was informed, a 'guy thing.'"
Tomar is quite obviously distressed on another issue at the moment. Due to Atalanta's Sedai training, she can sense it even more plainly than most people.
Atalanta says, "But enough of me. What troubles you?"
Tomar blinks and nods. "Well...yes it was quite a 'guy thing'...", blinks and rubs the back of his head (sure signs of trouble and distress). "Um...well I've ju st had quite a rough day thats all...you saw me walk out with lady Adelina and a few others..."
Tomar continues to rub the back of his head, "...it seems like there was some trouble, but it has been handled.", sighs softly. "Do you have anything for a headache Lanta...I feel horrible."
Tomar has never ever ever said that he feels horrible before in the entire time that you've known him...and then some.
Lanta touches Tomar's head lightly.
Tomar blinks.
[Channeling] Lanta embraces the source. A small weave of spirit washes Tomar's headache away.
Tomar ums. "Lanta?"
Gently, the pain melts away. There is no umpleasant sensation, save for a slight wave of cold.
You say "Why do you have a headache?"
Tomar blinkblinks. "I don't have a headache any...hey! Did you use magic on me??"
Tomar jumps back a bit from you.
Lanta drops her hand and sighs.
[Channeling] Lanta releases the source.
Tomar gives Lanta a stern look and then walks off throwing his hands up in the air. "Why me?!"
Tomar leaves the Flaming Arrow Inn via the gate to the street.
[--Scene Change: Alindaer Drive, Tar Valon -]
Lanta walks quickly past.
[--Scene Change: Courtyard, The White Tower, Tar Valon-]
Aedigar looks up at the new arrival.
Lanta walks in, quickly, looking extremely agitated.
Tomar walks in from the southeast entrance, watched closely by the Tower Guards.
Lanta doesn't notice Tomar or Aedigar as she walks quickly back to the Tower, pushing up her glasses. She looks...nearly upset. Upset? An Aes Sedai?
Tomar is walking very quickly and seems quite upset.
Aedigar wonders why the Aes Sedai looked...upset?
Tomar heads towards the white tower.
[--Scene Change: Entrance Hall, The White Tower, Tar Valon-]
Tomar walks into the Entrance Hall of the Tower from the Courtyard.
Lanta 's steps click lightly against the floor as she rapidly walks towards the ramp. Now that she's in the Tower the mask cracks further and she looks even /more/ upset.
Tomar pushes past a few tower guards and then turns to Lanta and opens his mouth with a finger wagging.
Lanta turns to him and just says, "I'm sorry."
Tomar is about to explode and then his face changes back to its normal colour and he exhales. "...me too.", sighs.
Lanta takes off her glasses and cleans them. "I was just...Light."
Tomar looks at the wall and says softly. "I know...I know...its natural for you to do such things...you are an...aes sedai after all, and I'm just a common man. Not a nobleman, not a soldier, not even a stableboy...I'm just /me/, Tomar. Just me."
Lanta looks down. "Well, it's not such a bad thing to be just /you/. You don't loose friends left and right because your duties interfere with your friendship. People don't fear you or what you can do. Even /friends/ fear the One Power. Your family doesn't disown you and you don't have to constantly wear this mask."
Tomar blinks and then puts a hand on your shoulder. "I know..it wasn't fair of me to say what I said. You will always be Lanta to me...but what you were...what you are now is an Aes Sedai. You are still Lanta the one who showed me that the one power isn't..."
Tomar smiles softly. "...such a bad thing after all."
Tomar pats your shoulder and then bows his head. "Forgive me Lanta Sedai."
Lanta looks up and smiles back gently, and then she does something Aes Sedai just don't /do/...her stock intrade, it seems! She just hugs Tomar.
Tomar blinks! But just smiles and hugs you back. He doesn't even ruin it with a snide remark.
Lanta lets him go and smiles. "You have no idea how much better you've made me feel."
Tomar rubs the back of his head again and blushes a bit. "Yeah, well don't push your luck kiddo." Smirks.
Lanta chuckles.
Tomar ahems. "Right...so about those shrubbies I have to plant?"
Lanta chuckles and waggles a finger at you. "A little honest work won't hurt you a bit, Tomar."
Tomar sighs. "Yeah, I know...I've already planted one, but I haven't seen novice Trelaine around? Is she okay?"
Tomar smirks, "I heard that she got into trouble again...?"
Lanta chuckles. "Aye, that she is. But she's a sweet one and I expect great things from her. Speaking of which..."
You say "I have an appointment with one of my students. I'll see you later, Tomar."
