Logger: Kelsyn
Date: April 3, 1998
Place: Practice Yard - White Tower
Summary: Several young men come to the Tower to be tested and entered into the Gaidin training program.
Kelsyn yells, "Door's open!" comes a grunting sound, like one not used to being disturbed."
Kelsyn comes out of his office, his eyes narrowed. "I said come in."
Crehn drops his hand, where he'd had it raised to knock again. "Yessir," he replies and makes to move into Kelsyn's office. He pauses, presumably to follow Kelsyn in.
Kelsyn holds out an arm abruptly, a darkened expression moving over his rather empty features. It's as if this man is hardened beyond all belied, feeling nothing, "Not so fast, boy." He grunts, blue eyes raging, "First, tell me what you want."
Crehn lets out the breath he hadn't realized he held. Kelsyn was every bit as intimidating as everybody claimed. More so, now that Crehn was faced with it. Intuitively guessing that he be smashed like a bug under Kelsyn's heel if he showed weakness, he gathered himself and spoke. "I seek to serve the Tower, Kelsyn Gaidin. If I prove worthy of becoming a Trainee, then I will train to be Gaidin."
Kelsyn's azure eyes appear to narrow further, as if delving deep within Crehn's soul. He smirks, "So you want to be a Gaidin, eh?" His voice is rough, "What makes you think you can?"
Crehn nods respectfully. He meets Kelsyn's azure gaze with his own, the darkness of late swirling behind them as the older, deadly, man presses. "I know only that I will give my blood for the Tower. As Gaidin or Guard or Stableboy or scullion."
Crehn blinks at him words and draws into himself a fraction.
Another smirk broaches upon Kelsyn's lips. "Oh really? And by giving your blood to the Tower, do mean that you'll do -everything- ordered, without hesitation or question?" His eyes still briefly, a sudden calmness coming to them. Is that a good sign?
Crehn senses a trap. But forges on, his desire to serve the Tower to his utmost, as Gaidin, outweighing the threat of Kelsyn Gaidin's sudden calm, "Yes Kelsyn Gaidin, as a Trainee of the Tower, I would pledge to do everthing ordered, without hesitation or question."
"Good." That fate seems sealed. "Go outside." Kelsyn commands, "Now." He does more than command, he barks.
Crehn beats feet for the practice yard.
Crehn passes through a set of large double doors, heading into the barracks hallway.
Kelsyn follows Crehn into the practice yard...
Practice Yard: White Tower, Tar Valon
Over near the archery posts is Arwen, putting arrow after arrow into a target; he glances up, spotting Kelsyn, and bows slightly in greeting, leaning on his bow. "Gaidin." Gaze sweeps over towards Crehn, and he nods as well-- once.
Crehn stands straight as a board, watching the barrack doors, he seems to not move at all when Kelsyn prowls out of the Barrack.
Rohannon halts hi smethodic beating of the dummy and nods to Kelsyn, more of a bow, but a busy one. He goes right back to his work-out.
Kelsyn comes walking out of the barracks, his footsteps bounding in the air as if a stampeed has arrived. His shadowed eyes cast about the yard, looking for someone in particular. He moves toward Crehn, eyes narrowing upon him. "Get those bags of sand there." He points to two bags of sand, "Place them on your shoulders, and start running." He watches Crehn, crossing his arms across his chest, "Well...?" He makes no mention of how -long- the young man must run.
Jaelyn comes through the Courtyard entrance of the large wall surrounding the Practice Yard.
Aedigar enters the Practice Yard from a small side door that leads to the Barracks.
Valerius comes through the Courtyard entrance of the large wall surrounding the Practice Yard.
Forever? Arwen watches in sympathy, idly re-stacking his bow as he moves over towards the practice sword rack, leaning down to choose a thin-bladed weapon. He nods, slowly asessing, then makes a few passes, slipping into a ready posture as he slowly goes through form after form.
Jaelyn makes his way in beside Valerius, looking rather awestruck at the numbers that have gathered here today. He slows down slightly, not sure of the proper etiquette involved in possibly interupting what appears to be a gathering of warriors of the Tower.
Aedigar walks out of the barracks and bows to the Gaidin and nods to those he knows before heading over to the rack of practice weapons.
Kelsyn stands within the yard, his swirling, azure eyes narrowed directly on Crehn at the moment. He does not see the others entering. At first glance, those who are sane might wish to walk the other way. He seems to be the enigma of the void itself, his facial features always devoid of emotion, or nearly so, as if he lives there always. He takes a few menacing steps toward Crehn, as if to emphasize the seriousness of the young man's situation; and as he moves one might get the picture of a predator at large that can easily deal with most situations.
Rohannon looks over and spots the 'new guys' and grins, stopping his excersizes. He wanders over to the weapons rack, and says hi to Aedigar as he puts away his sword. "New guys..." he says, nodding his head to the TRainee-hopefuls
Valerius stays near the edge of the practice field with Jaelyn, reluctant to interrupt Gaidin or trainee. Rather he looks like he will simply have patience until he and Jaelyn are duly noticed or until practice is over and a Gaidin is available to talk to.
Aedigar glances over at the newbies and grins as he picks a sword.
Arwen enters the Practice Field.
Crehn dashes to the sand bags and heaves them onto his shoulders, lifting with his legs. He begins running around the practice yard, hoping desperately that Kelsyn's order means that he's considering him as a Trainee and not just a masochistic whim.
Arwen slips over to the practice field, still waving his sword, testing the weight; pausing, he kicks a bit of dirt from his boots, and slips back into the ready.
As soon as Crehn starts running, Kelsyn turns his eyes to Rohannon, Aedigar and Arwen, a smirk coming to his lips as he watches the three ordained trainees. His eyes fall neatly on Rohannon, perhaps hearing his words, "And you... all you have to do is stand there gawking at newcomers? You can join him." He nods in the direction of Crehn, "With twice the weight." His voice hardens, showing he's quite serious.
Aedigar gives a wince in sympathy as he sees one of the new guys pick up the sandbags. Luckily he hasn't had to do that in quite some time. Having picked a blade that suits him, Aedigar wanders over towards the practice field after giving his greetings to Rohan.
Jaelyn glances over to those that mention newbies, his golden eyes surveying you sharply at the intent you make such statements with. He stands there idly, watching carefully what goes on, his watch turning all to often to the Gaidin at hand.
Rohannon is too smart to grumble, he's learned his lesson about 10 times too many. He nods curtly with a, "Yes, Gaidin." and hauls the bags onto his shoulders, having some trouble at first, well, a lot of trouble but he makes it look easy enough. Giving one last glance at Kelsyn, he jogs off after the newbie.
Aedigar enters the Practice Field.
Crehn's wind begins to flag, but he clenches his jaw and continues. Heaving the sand into a better position with a shrug, he continues running about the practice area.
Kelsyn continues on his way toward Aedigar and Arwen, after speaking with Rohannon. He nods to the field as if suggesting they group together. He then turns his eyes toward the other two, casting a questioning glance, as if silently asking why they may be here, even if it might be obvious... at least with Valerius present. Smirking, he turns to address the other two.
Valerius stands with Jaelyn, his face a cold mask and emotionless. He watches Kelsyn give orders and doesn't wince in the least at the work given out. He watches the other trainees that called himself and Jaelyn newbies and still doesn't give any sign of having emotion as they're given work for their idle chatter. He looks back to Kelsyn and simply waits to be addressed.
Rohannon slowly catches up to Crehn, despite the weight he carries. Hmmm.. he probably does this all the time. "Hey..." he says, falling in beside the newbie, his strides landing heavily as he balances the four sandbags.
At your table, Kelsyn's eyes fall upon you both, glancing from one, to the other, to back again. That smirk stays ever present, "You both are in need of the second tier testing, correct?"
Kelsyn grumbles something to the two at the practice field, keeping an eye on both Valerius and Jaelyn. Finally, after a few moments he snorts and says, "If you have a question, dont bloody stand there and gawk. Ask it. I've work to be done here."
Arwen inclines his head at Kelsyn, commenting as he pauses to answer the man, standing up straight,"Aye, sir...I did."
Crehn staggers a bit and the tops of his legs burn as Rohannon comes abreast of him, he feels something tear in his left thigh as his weight comes down heavily on that leg. But he gets his legs under him and continues on, favoring his leg.
At your table, Aedigar nods to the gaidin, "Yes I do Kelsyn."
Rohannon looks down at Crehn's leg and comments, "You pulled something I think." and he coughs slightly and it causes him to stumble slightly. "Just ignore it, keep going... there's no stopping here."
Crehn is sweating profusely now. And his breathing comes in short pants. He fixes his eyes grimly ahead of him, alternately far and close scanning the ground for dips and rocks. Clenching his nerve he grunts with each step. His eyes roll/slide briefly to the Trainee at his side, he doesn't spare any breath for a reply.
Valerius watches the lifting and running being done... he decides to take a moment to lightly stretch as much as possible, without incurring any strange glances or unnecessary attention... but still following the instruction of his former mentor to prevent injuries from physical labour.
Kelsyn glances between Arwen and Aedigar, smirking as Crehn enters the field. "Dont get in the way of the others" He barks at the other man, "And pick up the pace, you slacker! Or next you'll be digging trenches." He then addresses Aedigar and Arwen once more. "I want you to to start sparring, use everything you've been taught in the second tier and first tear. Go until first blood. If you break the void, you'll regret it." That's the only warning they will get from him.
Rohannon smiles slightly, "Good idea." he says, probably meaning about not speaking. He then promptly assumes the void... if a tad slowly. He presses on, seemingly without effort.
Arwen inclines his head at Kelsyn; turning, he slips into a ready stance, balanced on the balls of his feet as he holds his sword out before him, in a ready position; tilting his head to the side, he watches Aedigar-- waiting.
Crehn thinks maybe digging trenches would be prefferable, the sandbags are making it difficult not only to run, but to breathe. He clenches his gut and puts on some more steam, but he looks pretty pathetic.
Rhodish enters the Practice Yard from a small side door that leads to the Barracks.
At your table, Aedigar nods and silently slips into the void. He turns to face Arwen already in a ready position. He waits to make sure the both of them are ready.
Rhodish makes his way to the practice yard, stopping to bow to the gaidin, "Good day, Kelsyn."
Jaelyn looks over to Rhodish, a smile touching his lips. But he says nothing, instead just keeps watching. His eyes wide, eagerly anticipating the swordplay that is about to commense...
As soon as Kelsyn finishes with those within the yard, he walks away from them both. He gives a cursory nod to Rhodish, "Rhodish" He stalks across the yard toward Valerius and Jaelyn, this time no confusion as to who he might be speaking to now, "Well....?" He barks sharply.
Rohannon's grip on the void slips, and he grumbles. Turning his head then to see the new guy straggling behind him he calls in a grunting, harsh voice, "Come on! Does it hurt? Are you hurt?! Now's when you work even harder!" he then speeds up a step or so, "You'd better keep up with me."
At your table, Arwen watches Aedigar; eyes don't waver from the man, when without warning-- any-- he attacks, slipping forward as if on a wave, towards neck, shin, and knee, quick and sure, slashing with each stroke, testing defenses.
Rhodish makes his way to the rack of practice swords and selects one. His curiousity is piqued, but he knows better than to stop and stare. He makes his way onto the field and begins warming up.
Jaelyn looks up at the immense warder, nearly forgetting himself in the bark. But he has seen worse, and duly bows to Kelsyn, his topknot stirring slightly, "Peace favour your sword, Gaidin."
Crehn tries to push his pain away and plunges after Rohannon, he almost staggers and falls as he tries to keep the Trainees pace, he gains a little, but he cannot tell if he gained it or the Trainee fell back a little.
Valerius bows formally in Shienaran style, hoping that Jaelyn will follow suit. For a moment he stops to think about the best way to go about talking to Kelsyn... and decides from observation that Kelsyn is a man who would much rather prefer a direct and to the point answer, "Peace and light to you Gaidin. I have come to seek warder training from the Warders... I am yours to command." he adds the last as if he means it... but also knows he may be getting himself in FAR over his head.
A brow quirks at the young Shienaran, or seeming Shienaran. Kelsyn snorts, at the remark. Peace favor your sword. However he knows better than to actually comment on it. He returns, "Light shine upon you." That has nothing to do with peace, well... not really.
Rohannon falls back ever so slightly, just to keep the new guy trying. It's always easier when you think you're getting somewhere. "Come on! Push it!" he yells.
At your table, Aedigar keeps his eyes locked on his opponent as the rest of the yard ceases to have any meaning for him at this moment. As soon as Arwen makes his move, Aedi's sword flashes out to meet and deflect the slashes.
Rhodish moves smoothly into his practice, but refrains from seeking the void just yet. Anyone watching closely might guess that he was paying almost as much attention to the goings on around him as on his work, for the moment.
Crehn marvels at Rohannon's lungs, he can breathe -and- talk... Unbelievable! He dogs the Trainees heels, nearing the end of his endurance.
At your table, Arwen is blocked, every one; rather than continue with the grouse, he slashes across Aedigar's body from the side, wipping his sword upwards at the last moment, testing his defenses; his step is quick, and sure.
Rohannon seems rather proud of the new guy managing to keep up with one who is perhaps too used to this kind of thing. "That's it... just put your *breathing break* mind somewhere else... keep going... the harder you *breathing break* work, the sooner it's all over."
Jaelyn notes the Gaidin's twist on his introduction, but says nothing on the matter. His eyes regard you with a curiousity, like he is studying who exactly this man is. He turns slightly to Valerius, nodding. "I've come fer the same reason." he says calmly, with a hint of pride.
Crehn actually manages a weak nod and he forces his mind to wander elsewhere, to the country side where he'd spent summers with a friend of the family... after a few paces his gait steadies, he limps still, but is doggedly keeping after Rohannon.
At your table, Aedigar assumeed a slightly wider stance at this new attack and brings his blade around in a semicircle form one side of his body to the other, effectively blocking Arwens strike. As soon as he finishes sweeping the blade aside, Aedi darts in with a thrust towards Arwens midsection.
The looming Gaidin remains quiet for several long moments, then barks, "Rohannon. If I hear another measley word while running, you'll be scrubbing chamberpots!" Not a job the the trainees have come to enjoy. He wrinkles his nose and smirks, "Pardon the outburst." He -can- be polite, oh my. Well, it is a rare point with this particular Gaidin. Don't dare be impolite in his presence, however. His eyes move first to Jaelyn, studying him head to foot, as if delving deep into his soul, then to Valerius. He smirks that ever present smirk, "What makes you -think- you are worthy enough?"
With what little attention Crehn can spare for the goings on of the practice yard, he grins grimly to himself as he hears Kelsyn Gaidin as of the Trainee aspirants the same question he asked of Crehn.
Valerius seems to have thought about this question for a while, his reply comes smoothly and evenly though with great respect ever in his voice, "I am not worthy Gaidin... but I will spend the rest of my days devoted to becoming worthy." he glances at Jaelyn momentarily then back up to the Gaidin.
Jaelyn considers a moment, his face still remaining cool, but pinching slightly in thought. Turning his eyes back to the Gaidin, a slight smile touch ing his lips, he answers simply and to the point, "I am here."
Rohannon grumbles and says no more, grimly running on and somehow still forcing the new guy to keep up with his all of a sudden heavier pace, even though words have been denied him.
Rhodish finishes his warmup and begins moving through the few forms that he is familiar with.
Kelsyn holds out one hand to forestall any comment from either Jaelyn or Valerius, glancing to Crehn, "Enough. You may stop and go home. Come back again tomorrow." He turns his eyes back to Jaelyn and Valerius, studying them. He gives a short snort at the answers given, "What endears you so to the Tower? Why do you want to become Gaidin?" He goes into further depth with these two. "Are you so willing to lay down your lives for people you do not know? May possibly get to know mroe than you ever want to? Are you -willing- to give up part of your soul later should you bond and have your Sedai die?" At the last, his eyes seem to flicker stormily, as if a rage within fires to life.
Rohannon glances at Kelsyn and sighs as he realises he wasn't included in the early finish. He shrugs hi shoulders, and presses on, not daring to even mumble to the new guy as they are nearing Kelsyn and his gorup.
At your table, Arwen parries Aedigar's blow, barely brushing the man's thrust to the side; he hops backwards then, to clear space, and attacks once more, a thrust to the chest, a thrust to chest, and lower, a three-pronged attack.
Still regarding the Gaidin with his golden eyes, Jaelyn takes yet another moment, figuring which question to answer first. He is not good with words, often finding himself in greater trouble when using them, but is sure he can answer all questions once again with, "I am here." As though that alone is enough. Perhaps it isn't, but it is as close to the truth as his heart is to his chest, as his confidence suggests.
Valerius answers again, it was a long road from Fal Dara to think about such questions, "What endears me to the tower Gaidin, is the training received in becoming a Gaidin... You are known as the greatest warriors in all the world. To the Tower itself... in my homeland all Aes Sedai and their Gaidin are respected as allies against the dark. I wish to fight against the Shadow... and to become better in that fight I seek your training. As for bonding... there is a saying also in my homeland... A man who will not die for a woman is no man. Bonding is not in my ability to answer since I do not have enough knowledge of what Bonding is." his answers are short and crisp... almost military style.
Crehn grimaces as the Trainee passes him. He seems to clench himself and gathers himself to put on speed that isn't there. It is the blessing of the Light that falls on his shoulders as Kelsyn Gaidin pronounces his training over for the day. Wheezing and panting, sweating enough to leave trail of spatters behind him, he slows and uses his momentum to carry the sandbags to where he picked them up originally. He leans over and lets the sandbags fall to the ground, catching as much of their weight as he can with his limp arms.
At your table, Aedigar parries the first two thrusts so they miss him narrowly to each side and with the last attack is met with a simple block. Having dealt with this attack he comes back with a seemingly random slashing attack. First coming in from the right at Arwen's shoulder, then down from the left at his chest and finally a spinning slash from the left towards his thigh.
Rohannon comes around again and stops near the new guy. Runnig in place, he pants, shirt starting to slowly begin soaking thorugh with sweat. "Hey... new guy... put your bags on me... come on, stack em on..." he says, totally serious.
Rhodish chooses this time to turn his full attention to his swordplay. With his footwork, he puts distance between himself and the trio discussing training. He slows a bit as he seeks the void, and with that concentration and detechment, he picks up speed again, and flows into the forms with added vigor.
Gasping and panting, Crehn staggers, close to unconsciousness - stars dance before his eyes. He grimaces as Rohannon stops near him and gapes for a moment before he realizes that Rohannon is serious. He stoops to grab the sandbags and grunts as he hoists them, face and ears going scarlet with the effort. The stars dance madly and he settles the bags on Rohannon's shoulders.
And passes smooth out.
FWUMP!
At your table, Arwen hops to one side, parrying Aedigar's first blow, then second; he is a trifle off balance, his blade parrying again and again as he hops; then, he attacks, quick and sure, his blade arching towards Aedigar's neck as he attacks, aggressively to try to unbalance him.
Rhodish is dimly aware of the young man passed out nearby, and slowly stops his forms and stands straight. He almost visibly shakes himself out of the void, and moves to get some water for the man.
Valerius looks behind the Gaidin as he sees Crehn pass out then back to the Gaidin. For a moment his calm features betray him and he looks concerned as if he wishes to go help the fallen trainee, but he stays in place watching the Gaidin.
Rohannon frowsn down at the new guy, newly passed out. "Whoops..." he breathes, under his breath. He knows that he'll get in trouble for stopping or for speaking, so he simply begins joggin again, slower and heavier this itme, and bending slightly under the weight. (stick this at the front) He grunts anddrops a bit under the weight of the new bags.
Rohannon looks back as best he can, concern painting his face. He then sets his jaw, bites his lip and runs on, wishing somebody would hurry up and help the poor boy!
Rhodish returns to the man with a bucketful of water, which he promptly upends over his head.
Rohannon nods as he sees Rhodish upend the bucket and he calmly attempts to enter the void.
Kelsyn's eyes stray from the two, for a moment, over toward the two sparring trainees, who are working in their second tier forms. He nods slightly, whether or not they can see it, as if showing silent approval. He snorts when he spies Crehn falling to the ground, shaking his head. He then smirks back in the direction of the two he is speaking with, eyeing each one by one, before settling his eyes more fully on Jaelyn, "Yes, boy-, I 'know' you are here. I'm not flamin' blind." His features remain stoic and impassive, despite any annoyances he might be feeling at the moment for whatever reasons. "Then I will ask you this.... you wish to train, you have made that clear. Do you agree to do whatever it takes to train? Whatever you are ordered to do, no matter how menial it is, or challenging?" He narrows his eyes, as if this next answer will make or break the others.
At your table, Aedigar quickly hops backwards as Arwen slices aggressively and brings his blade up to parry. He maintains his balance mostly because of being in the void, and partly from skill. Managing to block the blade, Aedi comes back slashing in towards Arwen's shoulder and at the last moment turns the slash downward.
Valerius answers quickly and crisply... leaving little room to doubt. He's been waiting for this question for some time now, "Yes Gaidin."
Crehn gasps and sputters, choking on aspirated water, and wipes a hand weakly across his face. Coughing he rolls to his side. He seems a bit disoriented, lips pale in his red face. A new quality of red tinges Crehn's face as he realizes what happened. Mouth set grimly, he stands and walks unsteadily towards Kelsyn Gaidin.
At your table, Arwen parries; again, he's a trifle off balance, spreading his feet as he pulls his blade into a vertical position, close, and parries Aedigar's slash, steping forward to attack, again aggressively, as if trying to end it, totally.
Aedigar and Arwen dance back and forth through a what would be a deadly duet if the swords were more than wood and leather. They seem ignorant or uncaring for what happens in the rest of the yard, focused on each other.
Rhodish watches the now-conscious man get up, and, seeing that he doesn't seem to be needed any more, he replaces the bucket and resumes his place in the yard, seeking the void again, and starting back into his forms.
Kelsyn does not turn to Crehn when he moves toward Kelsyn, yet somehow the Gaidin knows he's coming. His voice is edged with a bit of steel, "I said go home. Come back tomorrow." He casts his eyes to Jaelyn, waiting for his answer.
Jaelyn considers a final answer, pausing, when it comes to him suddenly, something he had heard once. It seems most appropriate now. He says cooly, "I hear and obey, Gaidin" He hopes it is sufficient.
Rohannon amazingly has not slowed, and his shirt is only partially soaked with sweat. Face emotionless, and manner absent, he presses on. His breathing is what could be expected, more broken at times. The muscles of his legs are clearly defined through his moist pants, even more so when one of those well-muscled limbs strkikes the guond. He's been practicing...
Dripping and chilled, somewhat taken aback by the eyes in the back of Kelsyn Gaidin's head, he doesn't look around as he bows stiffly - whether from sore muscles or sore pride is difficulty to guage - to the Gadin, "Tomorrow, Kelsyn Gaidin." He walks as straight as his extremis allows and, were you there to see, nearly collapses on the other side of the gate.
At your table, Aedigar hops back a few times, parrying and blocking Arwen's attacks. He doesn't seem to want it to end yet, at least not with his blood being the first drawn. Faltering in his balance for only a second he somehow manages to keep from being hit as he recovers and returns with a viscious attack of his own. He comes in quick with downward slashes at Arwen, the sword moving close to a blur and hopefully giving no chance for a counter attack.
With a short nod of the head, Kelsyn speaks, "Good." He addresses both young men in front of him, then spins on his heel to a large, tarped mound within the yard. He quickly pulls the tarp off the mound, revealing several large boulders, speaking as he does so, "Move these from this end of the yard...." He points to the other end of the yard, which is nearly 200 feet away, "To that end. One at a time." He watches the young men, awaiting the reactions to their task set at hand. Another way for Kelsyn to test the new ones.
Rhodish slows and moves to one of the practice dummies, resuming his forms there.
Jaelyn drops his sword and sac where he stands, and rushes over to the rocks with the Shienaran noble, his topknot flying in the wind. He reaches the rocks in short order, grunting slightly, he picks up the first of his stones, and begins to move it the 200 ft away.
Valerius looks at Jaelyn and nods, he moves towards the boulders, unclipping his cloak and then removing the chainmail he wears on a daily basis, casting the articles to the ground he turns to Jaelyn, "The Gaidin never said we couldn't work together nor use only a certain means of doing the job..." he looks around for something that might assist in moving the boulders and fully intends to go through with the fastest way of doing the work possible unless the Gaidin stops him.
Jaelyn turns on his heels, nodding to Valerius, still holding the rock...quite easily too it seems.
Arwen barely parries Aedigar's attack, again swinging his sword in a circular positin towards the side; quickly, he tries to leap back, attacking with an overhand cut-- both are hit, Arwen to his leg, and Aedigar to his belly, each weapon clacking upon the other. Arwen pauses, and inclines his head at Aedigar-- he said to first blood, Kelsyn did.
AS Rohan nears the pile of sandbags again, he slows enough to slip the extra two off, really feeling it now and seeming weary.
Aedigar stops his sword as it seems they both get first blood. He returns the nod in kind and waits, still wrapped in the void.
Valerius stops for a few moments to survey the varying boulders, scanning the ground and area for anything that may be used for leverage. Picking out the largest boulder which comes to about his waist and is about as large as it is tall. He looks to the Gaidin and then to the weapons rack and without asking, goes to retrieve six quarter-staffs, "Jaelyn..." he looks up to see if the other Shienaran is finished bringing down his relatively small rock.
Kelsyn turns his eyes to Aedigar and Arwen as he notices the blurring motions stopping, "What? First blood already?" He smirks, stepping away from his spot to go over to them once more. He glances from one to the other, sizing them up quite thoroughly it seems. He crosses his arms, as if deciding what next he wants to do with the unlikely candidates of the third tier. He narrows his eyes slightly at something, then presses his lips together thinly, a cold expression entering his eyes.
Jaelyn places the relatively large rock down, and makes his way over to Valerius in double time. He smiles, nodding to the noble, pointing over to a barrel at the side wall. "We can place the rocks into that and use the staffs to push the whole barrel..."
Arwen inclines his head at Kelsyn; his gaze doesn't waver, his expression calm; completely.
Aedigar might have looked nervous at Kelsyn's change expression if he had not been in the void that is. AS it is he awaits patiently for whatever the demented one, um, gaidin wants him to do next.
Rhodish continues working off to the side, on his own.
Valerius seems to consider the idea... then shakes his head, "The largest one is too big... the other ones seem likely for that idea." he spares an encouraging smile for Jaelyn, "Take three staffs... the more you have the less likely they are to break... and I do not think it would be a wise choice to break Tower property." He glances at Kelsyn as he passes three of the staffs to Jaelyn.
Rohannon slows his pace but forces himself to go on. His breath ragged, his clothes damp, he really looks worn out besides the more or less blank look on his face.
Kelsyn shows no signs of letting Rohannon stop, quite content to let the boy run out his troublesome idleness. He keeps his arms crossed before him as he stares down both Arwen and Aedigar. He snorts, then speaks, "Bend over." Bend over?
Jaelyn shrugs, the rocks really aren't that big. But work goes much smoother the more hands you have working together...that he knows too well. He reaches over, grabbing several of the staffs, looking back to Valerius, "We'll use the smal'er rocks to move the big ones first, and essential'y create a chain of leverages working their way the 200 ft. Roll the one in the front, then roll the one you used to leverage it, then the one you used to leverage it etc, right down to the end. That work?" He asks curiously...
Valerius shakes his head after thinking about the idea, "No... we can't... Gaidin told us that we can only move one boulder at a time..." he looks thoughtful, "Perhaps... if we cross the staffs and one of uses the staffs for leverage while the other pushes up on the rock..." he looks questioningly at Jaelyn.
Aedigar is a little, well very puzzled at this but does as he is ordered. His face remains the impassive calm of one in the void as he bends over and waits.
As soon as the first trainee bends over, Kelsyn lunges for the sword, mindless of the fact he, himself, is quite unarmed. He attempts to take it from the trainee's hand.... once doing so, whether or not he is successful, this dextrous 'panther' spins toward the other in a deadly manner, doing the attempting the same thing. Perhaps this is a test of how well they pay attention to their surroundings? There are, afterall, always enemies in your midst.
Jaelyn nods, "We are only moving one at a time..."
Valerius frowns, "I do not know how far the Gaidin will let us stretch his instructions...." he jams his three staffs under the largest boulder and looks to Jaelyn to see what he will do... it is his choice now whether to use a second boulder or not... whether Valerius will go along with Jaelyn's choice remains to be seen.
Aedigar is aware of his environment as he always is and reacts accordingly to the new threat. He jerks his sword out of harms way, showing that he does watch what happens around him, even if he gives no sign of it.
Rohannon stumbles on, legs beginning to shake now as they make contact with the solid ground. He grunts, bites his lip and pushes onward.
Jaelyn only suggested moving one boulder at a time, but in such a manner that when the front rock got too far ahead of its leveraging rock, we go behind the leveraging rock and use another rock to leverage it. Then another one to leverage the third rock that leveraged the second rock that leveraged the first rock. He crouches down, placing the staffs to the side, and begins to push on the rock you are attemping to leverage. "It will work."
Arwen bends over-- then jumps backwards-- more of a dance than aught else, landing to the side as Kelsyn leaps for him, barely jumping in time.
Rohannon trips over a small rise in the terrain and nearly falls flat on his face, the bags pullin ghim downward. After regaining his balance, slowly, he clenches his teeth and eye shut, face giving the look of a man giving his all just to do one more before his eyes open againand he is standing straighter.
Jaelyn get behind the rock, and begins pushing with his back into the rock...
Valerius points out to Jaelyn, "Put your staffs crosswise under mine and then lift up one three ok?" he waits for Jaelyn to put the staffs underneath.
Rhodish slows his pace, breathing a bit heavily, and glances in the direction of the two trainee prospects, as if to check on their progress.
Jaelyn does so, as your words finally make sense to him. Funny how difficult things are to describe when using only one form of communication. He places the staffs underneath yours, and begins to push upwards to roll the beast forward...
"You may stop now." Kelsyn's voice is lined in coldness, his words no doubt unmistakenly for Rohannon. He then spins once more, attempting to trip the closest trainee to him with an outstrected foot, which is most likely Arwen. Not once does he glance in Rohannon's directoin, perhaps well aware of the strain he's under.
Valerius counts out, "One... two... Three..." Valerius grunts as he pushes up on the boulder, not worrying about what Jaelyn or anyone else is doing.
The rock shifts... goes up slightly and then wavers for a few moments before starting to go over.
Jaelyn pushes up, the staffs bending under the weight, but holding fast. The boulder rolls very slow at first, picking up a bit as the two comrades push...
Rohannon groans as he slows and dumps the bags back onto the convenient pile. He stands straight, and raises his arms up to rest on top of his head as he catches his breath.
At least on guard now, Arwen does leap back, holding his sword before him as his gaze rests on Kelsyn-- his chest, where the first signs of movement will be.
Aedigar sense Arwen jump and prepares himself for any attack on hisself by Kelsyn.
Valerius abandons the staffs for a moment instead almost attacking the boulder with his hands, "Quick! If we get some momentum we can get it there!" his biceps begin to bulge, the same with his thigh and calf muscles as he puts his fair bit of strength into moving the boulder.
Jaelyn chuckles as he follows suit with the nobles actions, grunting at the work, but not overly so. His muscles begin to show through but he is not nearly at his full strain yet...but he is holding his fair share of the boulder as anyone can see.
The boulder begins to rolls slowly, picking up speed as the two Shienarans push ever faster on it, easing their burden somewhat...
That attack never comes. Kelsyn straightens, smirking to himself, "Good enough." He grunts, nodding a dismissal to both, "Go get cleaned up."
Aedigar nods, "Thank you Kelsyn." He replies politely before trotting off to return his sword. He spares a glance for the laboring new guys who are pushing boulders. That's a new one he thinks to himself.
Arwen takes a deep breath; he glances over, watching those who're pushing bouldres, and wipes a bead of sweat from his brow. "Thank you, Kelsyn." He bows, slightly, and turns to go into the barracks.
Valerius looks at the speed the boulder is starting to pick up and comments, "Uhm... we're going to have to stop this thing eventually..." he looks in the distance then comments again, "Aim it for the rock you placed down? That should be a sufficient way to stop this boulder."
Arwen pulls open a small side door to the Barracks, leaving the Practice Yard.
Kelsyn smirks at something, going over to the rosters. As he does so, this time his expression falls upon Rhodish for a few moments.
Rhodish ' oblivious of the attention of the gaidin, continues to 'spar' with the training dummy.
Seeing that Rhodish is putting in productive time, Kelsyn continues his way to the board that holds the rosters, only casting a cursory glance in Jaelyn and Valerious direction, "Not done yet?" He smirks, "Less talk, more work." He then picks up one of the writing sticks and starts to make notations.
Aedigar returns his sword and disappears into the barracks.
Rohannon galnces at his companions entering the barracks and sighs to himself, not allowing any time for rest. He moves straight to the weapons rack and arms himself, intent on more practice. Lot of daylight left.
Jaelyn moves along to the side of the boulder, helping his friend direct the rolling boulder where the Gaidin had said. When they approach the place, he starts to push the front of the boulder to slow the thing down, grunting as he does so, muscles straining as he hops back trying to avoid get pulled underneath.
Rhodish winds his session down with one final 'Parting the Silk', executed well, but with room for improvement. He pauses for a moment to watch the relocation project going on, and starts for the water barrel.
Rohannon stumps over to a dummy and slumps agianst it slightly, deciding he needs more resting time.
Valerius stops pushing the boulder, instead using his hand to try and slow the boulder down, "Ok... it should stop now..." the momentum seems to be gone and it looks like the boulder will roll into the other small rock and stop.
Jaelyn sighs, grinning broadly over to his friend. "Shall we?" Pointing to the pile now 200 ft back from whence they'd come.
Rhodish stops at the barrel and thirstily gulps down a dipperfull of water, and spares another to be poured over his head.
Valerius nods, "Double time." he starts jogging back towards the pile of boulders, then veers towards the barracks... and towards the two empty barrels, "I think we can manage the rest individually."
Jaelyn nods, trotting along with Valerius to the aformentioned barrels. He reaches one in double time, drops in and starts rolling it over to the rocks, watching that Valerius is doing the same.
Valerius decides to lifts the barrel onto his back and swiftly walk... almost jog towards the rocks.
Rhodish makes his way back to the practice yard, a bit winded and with a few drops of water still running down his face.
When Jaelyn reaches the rocks, he pulls out the lid that had fallen inside the barrel. He begins tossing rocks
Valerius sets his barrel down, loads one rock in... the second largest... then puts his back to the barrel and uses his powerful legs to start the barrel rolling. The operation goes much faster than the largest boulder just moved.
When Jaelyn reaches the rocks, he pulls out the lid that had fallen inside the barrel. He begins rolling the largest rock he can into the barrel, closing the lid and locking it in place. Using his body to push into the barrel to get it moving, he stands and resumes with his legs.
Nearing the end spot, Jaelyn reaches down with his hands to stop the barrel. He pulls the lid back off, tipping the barrel over to dump the rock beside the large boulder. He tosses the lid back into the barrel, and rolls the barrel back to the starting line.
Rohannon is slowly catching his breath, his energy reserves filling.
Rhodish takes his place before the training dummy once again, and starts working on various strikes. Cuts, thrusts, slashes; high, low, mid-level, diagonal...
Valerius is already on his way back, rolling the barrel this time. Making it to the starting area he loads the next largets boulder he can find and repeats the proccess.
Jaelyn enters a quiet trance as he directs himself like an assembly line up and down the 200 ft of space with the necessary rocks. Hard labour is not unfamiliar to him, though his body is feeling the process slowly draining his energy.
Rohannon raises his practice sword and begins to slowly, carefully, smoothly attack the dummy in slow motion, using the few forms he knows. After awhile of this, this practice-practice, the lad taking it very easy, he turns his head and upper body, "Kelsyn Gaidin?"
Sweat begins to soak through Valerius' tunic and begins to form on his hands, making the barrels become slippery and increasingly tricky to navigate and simply get ahole of.
Jaelyn is fortunate that the day has turned to night, and the cool breeze drifts softly over his hot and sweating body. He continues along the course, occasionally looking over to the others, but little reaction on his face. But his eyes flash a most definite eagerness, and excitement. He is finally here...
Rhodish, now fully winded, steps back from his practice dummy to rest a bit.
Valerius keeps his face carefully composed and emotionless. He glances from time to time at Jaelyn... perhaps the younger version of himself. He keeps intent on his work and can see the number of boulders quickly dwindling now as he works his way down to the much smaller rocks.
Rohannon drops his sword slightly and turns completely around, looking for Kelsyn. "Kelsyn Gaidin?!" he calls again
Kelsyn finishes writing upon the board, then turns around to observe the other two, and what little progress they've seemed to have made. He snorts, then then turns his eyes coldly in Rohannon's direction, "Yes?" comes his voice, the epitome of calm; or the void.
Jaelyn finishes up eventually with the last of his rocks, looking over to see that indeed, Valerius is grabbing the last of his. A smile cracks his face, the first since he'd begun the chore. He huffs loudly, as he plugs the last rock, the smallest one, into the barrel, and begins his trip to the large pile some 200 ft away.
Valerius chances catching Kelsyn's expression and snort and frowns to himself, almost doubling the pace of his work. His breathing comes heavier and his hands are a blur as he pushes the barrels. Calling out to Jaelyn, "FASTER!!" Even if it is the smallest and last rock.
Rohannon gathers his thoughts and then lifts his head slightly to meet the Warder's gaze. "Kelsyn Gaidin, I've perfected these forms... is it time for me to learn more?" he asks, looking hopelessly anxious.
"Are you -daf- boy?" Kelsyn snarls at Rohannon, "You nearly kill your bloody self racing about the yard, showing -off- for newcomers by taking on more bags. I do not train fools. Once you learn not to go overboard, maybe I'll consider it." A dangerous edge comes to Kelsyn's eyes as he watches the other trainee, keeping the rest of his expression otherwise normally devoid of emotion.
Jaelyn groans as he pushes his way down to the end pile. He removes the lid, tossing it aside, and dumps the last rock. Placing the lid into the barrel he kick rolls the barrel back to the wall where he'd originally found it.
Rhodish's eyes meet Kelsyn's, and he nods, as if to signify he is ready for anything that might be requested of him, even as he finished catching his breath.
Rohannon nods and turns just in time to hide the gritting of his teeth. He then proceeds to whack at the bag, rather hard. "Showing off... if he only knew..." he mutters under his breath, beating at the dummy a bit harder than is necesary, throwing in the occasional complex form.
Valerius is just ahead of Jaelyn and finishes putting the barrel up and trots quickly over to retrieve the abandoned quarter staffs and put them away. After that he quickly makes his way over to Kelsyn and after a moment of time to regain his composure, simply waits attentively for the Gaidin to see that they are finished.'
Something within the Gaidin seems to snap as he sees Rohannon now abusing the pell, "Trainee...." He moves to the rack to get a sword, his -real- sword, "If you want something to whack at..." There is a vaguely dangerous note within his voice, "I can more than willingly give it to you while showing you respect." There's something not right glowing within his eyes, which appear to glower darkly at Rohannon. For the others... this might be a good time to.. well.. uh... run? Where oh where is Atalanta when you need her?
Jaelyn comes to a halt beside Valerius, who's just ahead of him. He huffs once, almost a low...growl? Before regaining his composure and stands attentively to await what next you have for us.
Rhodish turns his attention back to the training dummy, satisfied to let Kelsyn's wrath fall on another. He starts back into his forms, working primarily on Parting the Silk, but throwing in the occasional Grapevine Twines, working on the disarming aspect of that form.
Valerius glances at Jaelyn giving him a slightly worried glance as it looks like Kelsyn is about to cut down Rohannon where he stands.
Rohannon grits his teeth and spins on his heel gripping his practice sword and looking... angry. He growls and throws the blade suddenly, as he stalks off angrily.
Jaelyn shares Valerius' slight worry, glancing to him before turning eye back to the...annoyed Gaidin.
Kelsyn continues to stalk after Rohannon, that look -not- leaving his eyes. He appears to be wanting to 'teach' the trainee a lesson. Not a time to be angry, but afraid, very, very afraid. "Come back here!" He barks, not hastening his steps but not halting them either.
Rhodish's attention doesn't waver from his forms. Rather studiously so...
Rohannon looks over his shoulder, "So you can 'teach' me? I'm not worthy of it and you know it! You'd kill me in an instant with all I know... no, I rather think I'd like to live a bit longer." he says, stopping then to face the Gaidin.
Valerius begins to wonder if Kelsyn will simply stalk the trainee into some dark area of the Tower and they'll never see poor Rohannon again... pity.
"When you came here... to train -boy-, you made an oath to do exactly as I said, when I said." There is menace within Kelsyn's eyes, "Now you -dare- defy that oath, break it before all within this yard?" His voice, though angry, does not grow quieter, "Pack your bags."
Jaelyn just stands, his face very level, eyeing from the side the freighttrain ready to pile into the choo-choo. Hmm...
Rohannon looks around, "I'm not moving, am I?" he asks, holding up his arms to show that he did, in fact, follow orders.
But no one's ever heard of those, so he instead uses warhorse and poodle respectfully.
"I'll not take a flippant attitude either. -Pack- your bags." Kelsyn's voice wavers between sanity and insanity, "And live to see another day, boy." There is disgust within his voice, "For if you do not, there is no telling what will hold me back, nor if anything can."
Rhodish makes a point of being as quiet as possible while working his forms...
Valerius in turn makes a point of keeping his emotions completely masked and his breathing shallow so as not to make any noise in the least.
Rohannon bites hi slip again, hard. He seems about to say something but then melts as he runs frmo the practice field and into the barracks, the slamming door muting his sobs, his back to the Gaidin hiding his tears.
Jaelyn maintains a calm face, regarding the passing of events coldly. If this is what training is like, then so be it. He will overcome.
Valerius doesn't answer Jaelyn's whispers, nor even averts his gaze from tracking that of Kelsyn's movements. His face is completely and utterly like that of a corps... expressionless and altogether cold.
No particular tension can be readily detected in Rhodish's movements or expression, but he remains focused on his practice, and as unobtrusive as he deems necessary to weather the gaidin's dark mood.
Kelsyn continues to stand there, gripping his sword. His hand is white, as if the color had been squeezed from it. He is shaking quite liberally, as if attempting to regain control of his emotions, or just his sanity. His blue eyes flicker back and forth with a swirling of emotions, as if a storm has come to rage in full gear within his mind and body. No doubt, somewhere within the Tower, there is a blue sister suddenly full of worry with the emotions raging within this massive Gaidin.
From the corner of his eye, Rhodish observes the transpiring events and emotions. He slows in his work, but doesn't stop, concern touching the corners of his eyes and mouth. Deeper than that, though, is an almost...evaluating...curiousity.
Valerius continues to stand next to Jaelyn at perfect attention and looks prepared to stand there all through the night and next day if need be. Travelled too far and fought too long to do anything to mess up his chances of becoming a Warder.
Jaelyn stands there, continuing to watch the transpiring events. His expression is still level, but it shares the same underlying curiousity that Rhodish seems to show. This is his first evening, and already he has seen his trainer want to kill a trainee. Interesting. The boy soldier feels that should the need arise, he would do what he could to stop the onslaught of the Gaidin in a moments notice should it come to that. There are limits...murder is one of them.
After a few moments, Kelsyn spins on his heels, glancing to the others present. He eyes each and everyone of them, his voice coming out in a dead calm now, still a bad sign, "And I expect no less from any of you. To keep your word. I will not train an -oathbreaker-" That's the most serious of offenses within Randland, afterall. He glances between Valerius and Jaelyn as they watch on, "And I expect no less than your word when it comes to dont anything asked, no questions, no arguments." He pauses his words, "Understood?" There is a dangerous undertone within his voice.
Rohannon comes out of the door carrying his bags and a few other thigns just in time to hear that. His face darkens, and he stalks past, not offering bow, nod or glance to anyone. Strangely enough, he heads for the Tower.
Kelsyn's head snaps toward Rohannon, "Appealing to the Tower won't help you -boy-. It is my decision who -I- train. Come back in the day if you want to talk to Gould Gaidin."
Rohannon is muttering somethign about Saldaea, but besides that, he says nothign as well.
Rhodish's eyes don't follow the path of the other.
Rohannon doesn't even turn around. Appeal? Yea, right, whatever. He disappears into the Tower, and is gone from sight.
Rohannon passes through the entrance of a large wall, leading to the Courtyard.
Valerius bows crisply, military Shienaran style, "Yes Gaidin." he answers quickly.
Jaelyn's eyes turn forward very quickly, turning straight and tall. Face and eyes once again very level and very calm.
Kelsyn snorts after Rohannon's back. The boy made his bed, now he has to lie in it. He turns his eyes back to the others, nodding curtly to Valerius' words, then turning his eyes on Jaelyn now, narrowing them as he awaits an answer. Not once has he mentioned anything about the golden eyes, perhaps too much of an oddity himself to care to ask. Either that or... there's another reason.
Jaelyn says in a confident voice, "I hear and obey, Gaidin," following Valerius' example and bowing low in Shienaran fashion.
Kelsyn gives another curt nod of his head, "Good. Now go stake out a bunk if you want one in the barracks. If not, come back at a later time for your
Valerius chances a question to the Gaidin, "Gaidin... Kelsyn Gaidin correct? What will be involved in the indoctrination?"
Rhodish offers a brief nod to the pair, almost as if in congratulations...almost as if in commiseration.
"Kelsyn is my name." The Gaidin smirks, "Use it, not the title." He regards Valerius. "You will be informed of Tower heirarchy, and what more will be expected of you as you train here."
Jaelyn nods quickly, and moves off to the side to reclaim his sword and travel sac. Throwing them over his shoulder, he moves over to where Rhodish is heading, giving his friend a nod in return.
Kelsyn narrows his eyes, "One other thing...." He pauses his words, "If I catch either of you having romantic relationships with any of the girls studying here, you'll meet with the same fate as Rohannon..." He pauses his words, his voice hardening some, "If. not. worse."
Jaelyn stops short, turning to regard the Gaidin again carefully...
Kelsyn appears to catch the careful glance, "You are here to study, weapons among other things. You will not have time to be stealing kisses, and if you do, it will show you have no desire to train." He shrugs, "It is your choice."
Valerius bows again already hearing about this from Trainee's and the 'girls training here' alike, "Yes Gaidin." he answers crisply.
Jaelyn responds in the same strong voice, "I hear and obey."
"Good." The Gaidin speaks, using few words, as he's more apt to do normally. This might be, aside from when he trains, the most you've gotten from him.
Valerius remembers his cloak and chain mail lying where the boulders had been moved and goes to retrieve them before walking after Jaelyn. Is that a bounce in his step or just an illusion?
Jaelyn smiles warmly to his friends, and begins to head out of the Training Yard...his first day done, and he survived.
Now that there seem to be fewer distractions, Rhodish concentrates on his forms, rather than offering parting greetings to the two new trainees.
Valerius slings the chain mail over his shoulder and dons his cloak. He makes it to the gates and turns, bowing to Kelsyn again before departing... seems like there may be some partying tonight.
Rhodish, however, is likely to be too busy tonight to hit the tavern...
Jaelyn leaves with Valerius, leaving Rhodish to his forms. Perhaps another time though, after he is settled into the barracks...
Valerius passes through the entrance of a large wall, leading to the Courtyard.
Jaelyn passes through the entrance of a large wall, leading to the Courtyard.
Rhodish pauses to guage the mood of the hulking gaidin. Noting that he seems to be on a more even keel...relatively speaking...he speaks, "The young man that passed out earlier...he's a new trainee, too?"
"No... but he wishes to be." Kelsyn answers, the anger starting to slowly recede from his voice. He turns to regard Rhodish.
Rhodish nods to himself, but says nothing else.
Kelsyn glances back to Rhodish, studying him intently for several moments. "So... how are you finding your training time here? Productive, I hope."
Rhodish nods, "Yes, quite. I've progressed quite a bit with the void, I have been working my sword forms, and working on my endurance. I've also gotten the opportunity to do some studying in the library as well. Not a lot of time, but I suppose it's better than nothing."
Kelsyn gives a curt nod of his head, "You do not have to wait for me to start your lessons. Anyone who is dedicated or sworn level may teach as well." He regards Rhodish carefully, as if watching a puzzle, then speaks, "I admire someone who sticks to duty, rather than pausing to gawk about at events going on about them. Know that." This is a compliment. More so, from Kelsyn?!?
Rhodish gives a simple nod, a pleased look in his eye, "Thank you, Kelsyn. One thing I definitely learned in Saldaea was devotion to duty."
Kelsyn inclines his head, "You will make a fine Gaidin someday, should you pass the tests and the training."
Rhodish smiles, the look even reaching his eyes for a change, "Thank you, I certainly hope so."
Rhodish turns his eyed briefly toward the training dummy, then looks back at the gaidin, "How long should I expect to work on each tier of the training? To really get the forms right, that is."
The looming Gaidin's brow appears to wrinkle slightly, "It depends.... mostly on who trains you, and how well you take to the forms. Several months... if you are lucky."
Rhodish nods, "Of course...I think you'll find that I've no great fear of hard work, either." His eyes stray in the direction of the courtyard, but return immediately to Kelsyn's face.
Kelsyn's gaze seems to harden somewhat, for some reason or another, "Hard work... yes... well some do not have the stomach for it. Others..." He shrugs his shoulders, "The mind."
Kelsyn shakes his head, as if to clear it, then nods once to Rhodish, "Trainee... pardon me, but it is best that I go to the Tower this evening, should Lanta have to come find me..." He leaves his words unspoken. He is bonded, that is known.... and bonds dont tend to like... well... raging Gaidin.
Rhodish shrugs, as if to dismiss that possibility. "What would you recommend that I concentrate on for the time being?"
Kelsyn pauses a moment to consider, pressing his lips together, "Getting some of the forms... and maybe some of the other classes."
Rhodish nods, "Yes, of course, Kelsyn." He pauses briefly, "And thank you again."
Rhodish nods, "Yes, then I"ll see if I can get some time with some of the more advanced trainees."
Kelsyn inclines his head, "That is a good start."
