Passing of Bonds - Aftermath

Setting: Courtyard: White Tower, Tar Valon

Occupants: Ashlynn, Olista

Olista is perched, for there can be no other word to accurately describe her position, on the edge of a bench off as much from the more busy areas of the courtyard as possible. She is evidently trying to stay away from others. Those who draw near, however, can see that her face is a somewhat sickly shade of green and she appears rather nauseous.

Ashlynn walks into the Courtyard, glancing over her shoulder as she does so, perhaps to make sure her current three Gaidin are following behind her. She pauses just slightly, something of a cross look passing over her features as one of them trails behind too far, then she looks about the area, taking in all who are there. She lifts a brow faintly at Olista's demeanor, taking in every aspect about her, something of a coy look passing over her features as well as false concern. She dares to walk across the courtyard, directly to Olista's bench, smiling ever so sickening sweet, "Good morning..." A pause for several beats before she desires to add, "Sister."

Olista looks up at Ashlynn with a blank expression and inclines her head, "Sister..." She omits any other part of the greeting and falls silent again soon afterwards.

A twist of the lips appears on Ashlynn's features, in a downward curve, depicting a slight frown at the omiton of the greeting. You can tell it was duly noted, however she counters with that ever false politeness, "It is a good day is it not?" She tilts her head, her eyes twinkling slightly as she speaks, "What with the sun shining and that horrid rain all gone now..." She wrinkles her nose a bit in distaste. I bet you just love getting out and running about..." Another pause then she blinks, her cheeks flushing slightly, "Oh... do forgive me... I forgot... you cant run about like the others..." She might look almost forgivable if it were not for that false sincerity behind her words.

Olista speaks simply, "I do admit to being very happy that the weather is clear. It will make it far more pleasant for Kale and I when we go to Tanchico, especially when we will be sailing on the open seas." She manages a chuckle at the intended dagger, "And as to running about, I believe I did enough of that during my travels here to last me a lifetime, weakness or not. There are enough hours in the day now for other activities, and where Kale is concerned, it shouldn't be running I should have in mind, wouldn't you say?" She manages, despite her nausea, to manage a sweet smile of her own.

A slight look of surprise passes over Ashlynn's features, though it quickly ebbs away, showing nothing but outward calm and her false politeness, that ever so sweet smile ever present on her face, "Indeed... running should be the least of your worries, Sister... I am surprised you are not in bed now, having him wait on you hand and foot as he should be, tending to your... obvious illness. You do not look well... perhaps too much sun is not good for you..." Again you sense false concern behind her words, "I can call for him if you wish..." Something behind her eyes twinkles slightly.

Olista's smile doesn't fade either, "There is no need to call for him, Sister. I have ever been able to take care of myself and I can do so now. Besides, there are so many things he enjoys that I wouldn't begrudge him the time, although I should think that you would know his likes and dislikes. I recall from speaking with him, and especially from the feelings I was able to draw from him through the bond, that you indulged him in his wishes on many occasions. Who could ever conceive of such joy?" The sarcasm drips off of her tongue like honey, but the smile stays the same.

Ashlynn mmms softly, "Aye... that I did, Sister... though there are times that I did wish he doted on me as much as I did he..." She gives off an exaggerated sigh, a puff of air flying upwards sending small strands of her raven hair skyward before they fall back into place. She looks down at the ground for a moment, smoothing over her skirts before she looks back up again, tilting her head a bit, "Though do you think it is wise... to go on a sea voyage...." Another pause, her eyes taking your every feature in, in a calculating manner, "I mean in your condition and everything, I would think that being cooped up on a ship would be too much to deal with..."

Olista chuckles softly, though this time her amusement is sincere, "Perhaps if you had been willing to indulge him in ways that didn't necessarily suit your needs he would have been more willing to 'dote' on you, as you say. And as to my condition, had you been around the Tower instead of gallavanting around with your merry entourage, you, like Kale, would realize that I often confine myself to smaller quarters than any ship I will ever be on. The conditions there for studying and working on my writings, are just as close to ideal as I will ever find."

Ashlynn lifts a brow amusedly, chuckling faintly, "i was not speaking about such small quarters, as they would be ideal for any... situation you might get yourself into..." She smiles wider, her eyes taking on another twinkle, "I was talking about the tossing and churning of the ship, as the waves roll up and down... It's enough to make the heartiest of people sick."

Olista snorts, "I am not one to become ill frequently or easily. I will be fine." Her eyes remain on yours coolly.

Ashlynn nods slightly, though you might note the tiny look of disappointment within her eyes, "Well... I do hope you enjoy your trip. Perhaps you will find the Illuminators interesting people to deal with..." She smiles gently, tilting her head a bit.

Olista chuckles, "Perhaps, should they be able to show me anything that will aid my writings." She seems more than content with the change of subject, "And I hope that Kale will enjoy the respite as well."

Ashlynn inclines her head just slightly, "Yes... I am sure you do."

Olista rises carefully to her feet, and smooths her skirts as she does so, "I thank you kindly for your...concern...but I am afraid that I didn't get any sleep last night and must go and get some rest now."

Olista inclines her head politely, "I am certain we will have the chance to speak again, Sister."

Ashlynn smiles sweetly, "Of course, and you can count on it Sister. Perhaps we can compare notes... about o..." She stops herself, nodding to you, "Your Gaidin..." That twinkle appears in her eyes, perhaps hiding knowledge about Kale within her mind, knowledge that she will perhaps only allude to.

Olista smirks slightly, which seems somewhat awkward on her face, "Perhaps we can, though I doubt what I would have to say would be of much interest to you." With that, she inclines her head, and turns to start her careful steps back towards the Tower.

Olista walks up the steps and goes through the main doors of the Tower.

Kale enters the Courtyard from the Barracks.

Ashlynn glances over at Kale and a sly smile crosses over her features. She inclines her head slightly, putting on a soft look on her face, something of coyness there, as well as a tigress looking for her prey and finding it.

"Good morning Gaidin..." Ashlynn speaks in a soft, yet husky voice.

Kale steps into the courtyard, a distant look in his eyes and an impassive look on his face. Seeing Ashlynn he assumes an air of formality, bowing deeply to her as she speaks to him. "Ashlynn Sedai." His voice is divoid of any hint of emotion, as he watches you through emerald eyes.

Renimar enters the Courtyard through an opening in the large wall surrounding the Practice Yard.

Ashlynn pushes away from the bench she was resting upon, sauntering over toward Kale, attempting to make herself look a bit more appealing than before, tilting her head in an innocent manner with her eyes widening just sightly, "And how are you this morning, "Gaidin...." She smiles sweetly, though oddly, it seems genuine.

Kamilah enters the Courtyard through an opening in the large wall surrounding the Practice Yard.

Kamilah walks out of the Practice Yard with Renimar.

Renimar stops, glancing at the various gates that lead from the main courtyard, trying to decides which one leads to the desired location.

Ashlynn's eyes travel from Kale for a very brief moment to take in both Kamilah and Renimar. For that brief moment, she appears to be sizing up Renimar, almost as if she were a buyer at a stock auction wanting some good material to take home. She flashes Renimar what appears to be a winning smile, then turns her eyes on Kale, at the same time making it seem as if she is smiling at him only, her eyes fluttering a bit, rather coyly, as she waits for his response.

Kale tilts his head slightly. "I am well, no thanks to you, Ashlynn." Bitterness rolls off Kales tounge drenching every word he speaks. "You leave me here, so you can go look for other lo...Gaidin..." Kale pauses taking a deep breath trying to push his emotions back down. "Did you not think I would be hurt? Did you not think I would worry about you...I could have followed you, but to what end, so you could reject me to my face?"

Renimar motions Kamilah to the NorthHarbor Gate and strides off, glancing only curiously at the assorted people who wander the courtyard.

Renimar passes through the NorthHarbor Gate under the watcheful eyes of the Tower Guards.

A hurt look appears on Ashlynn's features, perhaps feigned perhaps not, "Now Kale... you know I had things to attend to and I honestly did not want..." She smiles gently, sincerity pouring from her, though whether or not it's true or false you cannot tell, "Want you blemished in anyway... You know that I think you are just perfect."

Kamilah frowns visibly and looks up at Renimar, eyes wide. This is not something she expected to see, and it apears to be one of her fears but she then follows him quickly.

Kamilah passes through the NorthHarbor Gate under the watcheful eyes of the Tower Guards.

Kale's eyes narrow slightly, his chest and shoulders tensing beneath his tunic. "Perfect..." Kale nods slowly. "Aye, perfectly the fool to think you could have meant more than a quarter of the things you said." Kale glances around for the other fools of Ashlynn's retinue..."How long before they are like me Ashlynn, left behind to wonder...left behind with only the vaguest sense of which direction you might be in...and how you are? How many will be abandoned?" Kale voice cracks slightly as the months of worry, and hurt begin to creep into his voice, shaking his resolve.

Markon enters the Tower Courtyard through the Alindrelle Gates.

Markon walks around with a spear in his hands. He frowns slightly and seems if he's lost.

Ashlynn sighs gently at Kale, reaching out slightly to place a hand on his cheek, "Kale... I never meant for you to feel abandoned. Truly, that is not what I had intended...." She looks at him, attempting to peer directly into his eyes, "Nor have I abandoned any that I have bonded. I am sorry it appears that way to you... I did think about you rather often, and sent things to you, but I know and understand that they were not enough. No Gaidin likes to be far from their Aes Sedai and I suppose I did not think when I took leave of the Tower and left you here..." She emits a soft sigh that actually appears sincere, as well as her whole demeanor showing that she's possibly truly sorry for things of the past.

Kale looks toward the Tower, a sence of urgency enters his whole being. "Olista..." is all that can cohearantly be heard as he bolts toward the Tower. His massive size remarkable hides a surprising amount of speed and agility as he runs into the Tower.

Kale walks up the steps and goes through the main doors of the Tower.

You walk up the steps and go through the main doors of the Tower.

[Brief scene change to the Entrance Hall: White Tower, Tar Valon]

Kale runs up the ramp taking improabably long strides.

Kale starts winding his way up the carpeted ramp, disappearing as he turns a corner.
