Amyrlin's Office: White Tower, Tar Valon
Occupants: Coerel, Raemira
Coerel slips in, quietly shutting the door behind him. He surveys the room quickly before turning back to Raemira.
Raemira looks up from her desk, her eyes rather curious, "Good day Gaidin." Her eyes hold a pleasurable mood to them.
Coerel offers a warm smile, "Good afternoon, Aes Sedai. You seem to be in good spirits today. Is there a reason for it?"
Raemira lifts her shoulders in a soft shrug, her eyes casting a mysterious demeanor to them, "Oh... yes and no... I've chosen a new Mistress of Novices since Fedora Sedai has decided to retire from the position."
A flicker of concern shows on Coerel's face which passes so fast you might have imagined it if you hadn't felt it through the bond as well. He nods, "I was hoping that perhaps you had good news about our mysterious note leavers." He takes a shallow breath before continuing, his voice taking on a slightly curious note, "And who have you chosen for the new Mistress?"
Raemira sighs slightly, only faintly, speaking softly, "I have not had any more news on that as of late. If I do, I will give it to you..." She pauses for a moment, her eyes taking in her Gaidin, "Semarra Sedai is the one that I have chosen."
Coerel smiles softly. "I did not mean to distress you.", he says in way of apology. "Semarra Sedai is a good choice I believe."
Raemira inclines her head slightly, something of a soft smile appearing on her features, "I happen to agree. I saw her in action yesterday with a rather non-cooperative novice. I think she will do well for the position."
Coerel nods his head in agreement. "Have you made it official yet?"
Raemira inclines her head, speaking softly, "I have. I did so last evening."
"Very well." Coerel looks about the office again before turning back to you with a cheerful smile. "And how long have you been couped up in here today, my Aes Sedai?"
Raemira lifts a brow just slightly, her voice a mask of calm, "Most of the morning, I do believe. Why do you ask?"
Coerel chuckles softly. "I must look after your emotional and mental well being as well as your physical, Raemira Sedai. It is my duty."
Raemira smiles faintly, her expression slightly curious, "And what has my Gaidin planned to keep my emotion and mental well being stable?"
Coerel makes a big show of looking you over, "He suggests some fresh air. Perhaps a walk in the Grove or maybe a ride?" His eyes seem to smile as his gaze meets yours.
Raemira inclines her head slightly, speaking in a soft, radiant voice, "I do believe that I have time for such actions."
Coerel drops to one knee and bows deeply to you, "You honor me greatly, Aes Sedai."
Raemira lets out an exaggerated sigh, shaking her head slightly, "Coerel, you do not have to bow before me... " She watches you with silent eyes.
Coerel rises smoothly to his feet with a smile on his face and a mischievious twinkle in his eyes, "As you wish, Reamira."
The Amyrlin just shakes her head, catching that mischievous twinkle. She rises from her chair, hiding her amusement, "Now... where show we head off to. Since you are bent on getting me some fresh air, you may choose what we do."
Coerel rubs his chin thoughtfully, "Perhaps a walk in the Grove would be best. People might panic if they see the Amyrlin and her Warder ride out the city gates." He smiles.
1 Raemira chuckles, "Mayhap, though I doubt they will." She smiles faintly awaiting your procession to the door.
Coerel nods once and leads the way towards the door. He opens it and looks about before stepping out.
[Scene changes to the Tower Office Wing: White Tower, Tar Valon]
Harper silently emerges into the Office Wing of the Tower from carpeted ramp leading into the Aes Sedai Living Quarters.
Harper curtsies awkwardly as she passes you, keeping her eyes firmly fixed on the ground.
Raemira inclines her head slightly to Harper, her eyes taking in the young girl. She even offers a pleasant, warm smile as she passes by, "Good day...."
Esthi emerges from around a twist in the carpeted ramp, quietly padding up from the Entrance Hall.
Raemira appears to be following Coerel Gaidin, her thoughts turned inwardly at the moment as she passes by Esthi as well, not noticing the Novice, seemingly.
You walk down the carpeted ramp and towards the Entrance Hall.
[Scene moves on to the Entrance Hall: White Tower, Tar Valon]
Jorris casually slips into the entrance hall, a stack of thickly leather-bound books cradled in his arms as he makes his way towards the common wing. Looking about, his gaze almost freezes on the Amyrlin, and it takes much to rip it away, as he falters in his walking towards his destination.
Coerel comes down the ramp with Raemira in tow.
Raemira lifts a brow slightly as Jorris falters in his steps, her eyes turning rather curious however her ageless features staying in a calm, serene mask. She merely inclines her head to him, offering a pleasant smile, then continues to follow her Gaidin, suggestion she has plans.
Coerel nods politely as he leads the Amyrlin towards the main enterance.
Esthi pads into the Entrance Hall, emerging from the circular ramp up.
Harper pads into the Entrance Hall, emerging from the circular ramp up.
Harper quirks a grin. "Sounds great.. Let's go take a look..."
Jorris nearly stops in his path, his gaze following the Aes Sedai and her Gaidin. Gulping nervously, he quickly -scampers- off towards the Common Wing with his load of books, never looking back once.
Esthi curtsies again..
Jorris passes through an archway decorated with a copper and bronze pattern.
Harper curtsies again, keeping her eyes down. This one is even worse than the last...
Esthi says "Wonder what scared him off?"
Raemira offers Harper ahd Esthi a faint smile, though she still appears to be following Coerel toward the Courtyard.
You push through the main doors of the Tower and go to the Courtyard.
[Further travel to the Courtyard: White Tower, Tar Valon]
Coerel walks down the steps into the Courtyard, after pushing through the main doors of the Tower.
Coerel pauses as he catches a bit of conversation on his way out the door.
Esthi walks down the steps into the Courtyard, after pushing through the main doors of the Tower.
Harper walks down the steps into the Courtyard, after pushing through the main doors of the Tower.
Esthi points. "The stables are that way.. and I found where the Gaidin train over there...
Raemira follows Coerel toward Osendrelle Gate, her eyes rather curious as he leads her outside of the Tower walls. The Towerguards appear to watch the two girls as they exit the Tower, eyes keeping an eye on those that might try to slip away.
Coerel shrugs and apparently decides to get moving again, since that is what he does after a brief smile of encouragement to Raemira.
Harper nods approvingly as she follows Esthi out. "This is much better.. Open air." She nods, "I'm following you..."
Coerel passes through the Osendrelle Gates under the watcheful eyes of the Tower Guards.
You pass through the Osendrelle Gates under the watcheful eyes of the Tower Guards.
[Moving on to Osendrelle Square: Tar Valon, TarValon]
Coerel smiles at you, "See you already look so much better just getting away from the Tower."
Raemira chuckles faintly, "Oh...?"
Coerel regards you a moment, "You sound as if you don't believe me."
Raemira chuckles faintly, a lightly sparkle coming to her eye, "I'm not certain what to think. I've just never heard of anyone looking better for having gotten out of a place before"
Coerel quickly replies, "Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying you don't look any less beautiful in the Tower than you do now... I mean, you look alot less stressed."
Raemira lifts a brow slightly her features ageless and quiet for a moment.
Raemira shakes her head after a moment, speaking softly, "I did not know you thought of me in that manner." Her words are simple and appear true.
Coerel walks quietly for several steps before replying, "I did not mean to offend, Aes Sedai."
A brow raises slightly as the Amyrlin answers, "You have not offended at all Coerel. It's just...." She pauses her speech as she casually walks along the street, "I had not known you felt that way."
Coerel's gaze scans the street carefully. "It is of no moment, though I am surprised to hear that you didn't know how I felt about you. I will guard my tongue more carefully and not speak of it again." He doesn't look at you as he says this, seemingly intent on the area around, and his voice betrays no emotion.
Raemira blinks slightly and her face flushes a bit, "I had not realized that the feelings were beyond friendship..." Surprise etches her voice, as it seldom does. "It is nothing to be ashamed of Coerel, and if you wish you may speak about it all you want..." She continues to follow along, growing quiet.
Coerel says "I am not ashamed. I am a Mayener, Raemira." Coerel motions vaguely to the busy street around you. "This is not the place to discuss such things, if they were to be discussed.""
[Wandering in the Ogier Grove: Tar Valon, Tar Valon]
Coerel walks in from the west, leaving Treesingers Avenue behind as he takes in the splendor of the Grove.
Coerel quietly follows one of the trails.
Raemira follows along behind you, watching your back quietly.
Coerel continues quietly, seemingly intent in watching the trail ahead and the surrounding area. Even though he turns his head only a little, you are certain that he is looking at you most of the time.
Raemira continues to walk along, seemingly rather absently. She emits a soft sigh as she does so, perhaps mulling a few things over.
From somewhere along the trail you see some some sort of shadowed movement within the evening darknes.
Coerel appears not to notice the movement in the shadows as he walks along.
The shadowed movements appear to stop as the couple gets closer and closer, seemingly disappearing behind some bushes.
Coerel glances back at Raemira, almost as if reassuring himself that she is still there and well. Nothing else but that movement betrays that he has seen the shadowed movements.
From somewhere behind the couple, more movements prevail. If you are paying attention it seems that a figure dressed in all black is coming from behind. Another from the front does the same, with two others coming in from the sides, all about thirty feet apart, sneaking and trying to box the two in.
Coerel stops and turns to Raemira, smiling pleasantly. "This looks to be a nice enough spot."
Raemira nods quietly, not quite noticing those surrounding them. She speaks softly, "I expect so...."
Those coming from all four directions appear to box in a bit more. Through the moonlight, one might see the glinting of steel.
Coerel breaths the word 'Company' softly to you before continuing in a normal voice, "This is so much nicer than the chaos of the Tower."
Raemira appears to incline her head slightly, her eyes narrowing a bit, speaking softly, "Yes. I suppose..." She pauses for a moment, her eyes taking in the darkness, "Though I thought we had agreed to talk of other things this evening.
Coerel smiles, seemingly completely at ease. "Yes, of course. My apologies." He looks up into the sky, "It is a beautiful night."
The rusthing of bushes can be heard as they start to close in even more. After about 8 feet distance, all four jump into visiblity. Two of them hold swords, one a dagger, the last nothing all, seemingly a ringleader type. Their faces are masked as are their bodies, all in black.
Coerel sighs softly. He turns to the unarmed man, "Good evening, neighbor. Can we help you?"
The unarmed man, who apparently sees taller than the rest, appears to have some sort of smirk on his face, dark eyes glimmering dangerously through the wholes within his face mask, "No..." He speaks, his words edged, "Though I think my associates and I can help ourselves." One of those behind you chuckle darkly, and you might notice them edging in.
[Channeling] Raemira apparent is forming quick, hasty weaves of air, as if about to make some sort of bonds.
"Pitty. I hoped you had more sense than that." Coerel turns to Raemira, "Would you mind him for me please?" Not waiting for an answer, he turns so that his back is to the unarmed man, watching the other three cautiously.
Coerel steps away from Raemira between the 3 armed men. He looks at each carefully, waiting for them to close some of the remaining distance before acting.
Raemira inclines her head to Coerel, her eyes watching the unarmed man. Tendrils of air flow forth, unseen by the man as they quickly and rather hastily bind him.
The man gives off a startled gasp, as if not having thought of that option, then does something strange and winks at thsoe men within the area. As if some sort of signal comes about, the three that surround Coerel and Raemira start to slowly circle them, weapons ready.
[Channeling] Raemira says, "-- Tendrils of air flow from Raemira and seem to find their mark, quickly wrapping some unseen target
Coerel watches the middle swordsman carefully, reaching for his hilt. He suddenly leaps at the attacker to the right while drawing his sword and swinging it across the attackers body in one motion.
Coerel, slicing with his sword and aiming for Coerel's sword arm in a hasty attempt to attack him. While the man that Coerel is working, the one with the dagger makes his way for the currently distracted and concentrated Raemira, who has her attention on the unarmed man. The second swordsman also makes an attack for Coerel, however misses rather badly when he tries to make a swing.
With one quick motion the man that Coerel goes for jumps back, but not before part of the blade slices through his body, giving him a nice little cut, or rather deep. He lets out a yelp, the cut not all that bad, and
tries to attack Coerel, slicing with his sword and aiming for Coerel's sword arm in a hasty attempt to attack him. While the man that Coerel is working, the one with the dagger makes his way for the currently distracted and concentrated Raemira, who has her attention on the unarmed man. The second swordsman also makes an attack for Coerel, however misses rather badly when he tries to make a swing.
Coerel follows his swing and spins, leaving the swordsman swinging at empty air. He leaps forwards towards the man with the dagger, while swinging his blade behind him to keep the other two at bay.
Raemira appears to be tying off the bonds to the unarmed man, seemingly confident in Coerel's abilities to take care of her.
The man with the dagger appears to have gotten closer to Raemira than expected, however when he notices Coerel coming for him, he yelps slightly and moves back away from the ageless looking woman, trying to keep his distance from Coerel.
The unhurt swordsman tries to backtrack the otherway, heading toward his bound compatriate to try and many an attempt at Raemira while the wounded swordsman breaks in the opposite direction, perhaps to confuse Coerel.
[Channeling] Raemira - The flows of air appear to be tying themselves off as Raemira makes the appropriate weaves, however the glow of saidar can still be felt coming from the direction of the Ogier Grove.
Coerel follows the men's movements not willing to leave Raemira vunrable to attack again he drops into Apple Blossoms in the Wind, ready to strike in any direction.
Not noticing the changes in demeanor from Coerel, the unharmed swordsman continues his assault toward Raemira, his eyes gleaming brightly within the moonlight. The harmed man appears to wince with each move, but is intent on doing his bidding, trying to keep the Gaidin confused. Behind Coerel, you can hearthe bound man's slightly cackle, thick and menacing, "DO you really think you can best my men? They are the best around" Of course he's not taking into account the possibility of a blademaster within his midst. The man with the dagger starts forward again, once more toward Raemira, all three seemingly closing in at the same time.
[Channeling] Raemira - More hasty flows of air appear to be woven as Raemira struggles to keep a hold on her senses and the power.
Spinning around the back of his Aes Sedai, Coerel catches the blade of the unwounded swordsman as it descends towards her. With a flip of the wrist he spins his blade around his opponent's to slip inside his guard for a thrust to the chest, which you recognize as Grapevine intertwines.
The unharmed swordsman's eyes widen brightly as Coerel thrusts forward, effectively piercing his chest. It is at this moment that the man with the dagger advances once more on Raemira, who now has her attention diverted to the hurt swordsman, seemingly divided really. The hurt swordsman changes his direction from Raemira, and heads for Coerel, his sword swinging at the man's back as he's about to pull his sword from the now very dead man, attempting to catch Coerel while he's offguard. The man with the dagger comes up behind Raemira, a mere few feet away from her, about to attempt either attacking her or holding her captive.
Coerel leans forward just as the sword comes down on his back. The blade bites into his shoulder, but deflects off his shoulder blade instead of slicing through the bone. The sword's edge traces a bloody line down his back as Coerel jerks his blade free and spins with his blade extended at just below head level, trying to catch his opponent's neck while his sword is still down.
As Coerel busies himself with the injured swordsman the man with the dagger maneuvers himself so that he's now behind Raemira. He places his arm about her neck with the dagger point pressing against it.
Raemira appears to be concentrating at theh injured swordsman, intent on keeping her Gaidin safe from harm. At the interruption, and the dagger point against her throat she gasps slightly losing concentration and her grasp on Saidar.
The injured swordsman eyes widen as Coerel's sword comes at him full thrust toward the neck. He tries to jump back but is too slow, the force of the blade catching him effectively, taking his head.
The unarmed man lets out another cackle as he suddently becomes free from his bonds, heading toward Raemira and the man with the dagger, his voice edged with menace, "I do suggest that you drop your sword, lest your 'witch' friend end up without her head as my compatriot, friend." His eyes gleam in the moonlight as he takes in Coerel.
[Channeling] Raemira - It appears as if Raemira drastically loses control of Saidar, almost as if surprised.
Coerel lowers his sword and turns to the men and Raemira. "If you wish to live, I suggest you drop that dagger and flee as fast as your legs will carry you. If you harm her, I will do alot more than just remove your head."
Raemira calmly forces her face into a tight, unreadable mask, her eyes taking in Coerel, since that's about all she can do at the moment. The unarmed man lets out a lowly chuckle, his eyes apparently grinning darkly from underneath his mask, "I do not think you are in a position to bargain... friend." Of course, the term friend appears to be rather menacing at the moment. He makes a small motion and the man holding Raemira presses the dagger even more tightly into her throat, not yet drawing blood, "Now, unless you truly wish her harmed, I suggest you back back away, now." The unarmed man's voice is rather steely, "Else we'll have no choice. I have no problems with dying in my services, nor my partners, but are you willing to take that chance with her life...?"
The man with the dagger gives off a toothy grin in Coerel's direction, "Yeah...beat it slave boy."
Coerel drops the sword into the grass at his feet. His face looks resigned and defeated. "There I am no longer armed. Now please, take the dagger from her throat.", he pleads.
The unarmed man nods to the one holding Raemira. The dagger lowers only a bit, but not much, keeping within piercing distance if needed. The umarmed one then looks over Raemira, his eyes calculating, then Coerel, as if appraising the situation. He brings his hand to his chin, apparently pondering something while keeping wary, "Well, a Warder was not in our contract....I think if they want us to do more than to take the witch they owe us a bit more money..." He appears to be thinking outloud....
The daggerman smirks faintly, tightening his grip on Raemira as he eyes Coerel warily, "You think it's wise boss to be talkin' biz in front of slave boy there?"
The unarmed man simply motions his companion quiet, "I will of course bargain for her life, if it truly means that much to you..." His eyes watching Coerel appraisingly.
Raemira's face stays that stark mask of calm as she allows herself to relax just a bit. Coerel can see the relief written in her eyes as the dagger moves away from her neck. She speaks quietly, "And what sort of bargain might that be....?" As she speaks the dagger comes to her throat again, "Quiet witch, else I'll make sure you cant take again..." There is menace in the voice. Raemira remains quiet, her eyes watching Coerel.
Coerel sighs in resignation, "What is it that you want for her?"
The armed man chuckles faintly, darkly, "Money talks. Say 10,000 gold crowns? That's more than appropriate to get the witch back. I'm sure the Tower can work out some sort of arrangement."
Coerel bows his head, "How long do I have to get it?"
The unarmed man scratches his chin for a moment, "Two nights. No more. Afterwhich she comes with us..." Of course, not knowing how the bond works, you'll know exactly where your Aes Sedai is at all times, or close to it.
Coerel says "How am to locate you after I get the money?"
The unarmed man states rather tersely and simply, "You will find someone here to meet you... once the money is gathered. If he does not return by midnight on the evening of the last day, your witch wont be around Tar Valon much longer.... I'm sure she'll fetch a better reward elsewhere." A sly grin appears in his eyes and on his face, counting the money mentally.
Raemira appears to smirk rather distastefully, though keeps quiet, knowing how speaking gets her into trouble. The man behind her appears rather edgy as the unarmed one speaks, "Is it agreed? You have my word of honor for what it's worth that she will remain unharmed for that appointed time."
Coerel reaches into his shirt and pulls out a fist sized bag. As he opens it wide, the moonlight sparkles brightly on the gems inside. "I will trade you this bag for her. The gems are worth at least that much and is much lighter."
The unarmed man chuckles faintly, his eyes glistening slightly, "I prefer the weight in gold my 'friend." Once again that dangerous edge hits his voice, "Not some gem that could just as well be worth nothing."
Coerel looks to the man with the dagger, "How about you neighbor, care to trade me the bag of gems for that knife you have there?" He holds the bag up tantalizingly.
The man with the dagger watches Coerel and the bag, his eyes gleaming within the moonlight. With one look to his leader, then back to Coerel, he shakes his head, "Uh-uh... I's know better'n dat.... Wouldnt live to see a cent of it..." He brings the dagger closer to Raemira's thraot again, threateningly, "I suggest taking the deal offered....."
Raemira continues to watch quietly, only wincing slightlywhen the dagger is brought closer to her agian, though otherwise remaining perfectly still, unable to offer any help. Through the bond you can feel her fear and even curiousity about what these men want.
Coerel sighs and picks his sword up from the ground. He casually wipes it on the shirt of the decapitated man. "Very well. Meet me here tomarrow eve. I will have the gold and you better bring her."
The unarmed man inclines his head slightly, his eyes watching Coerel. "My man will meet you here. He will then bring you to her, unharmed."
