Courtyard: White Tower, Tar Valon
Occupants: Daline, Harper
Gaelan walks in quietly, as is his norm. Observant grey eyes, the color of steel, take in the locale.
Harper sits in the back of a wagon, bound hand and foot. Six guards in Tairen livery cluster around the wagon.
Daline walks down the stairs of the Tower, looking about half-heartedly. She appears to have an ashen face with a bit of selfloathing mixed on it, as well as some fear. She blinks slightly when she notices the wagon, her eyes widening in more fright, blinking a few times. Her mouth drops a bit and she backs up toward the Tower again, eyeing the guards.
Gaelan watches on most.... curious. Still, he doesn't seem happy to have a bound "guest" arriving.
Gaelan walks to the guards, and says, "Welcome to Tar Valon, and the White Tower. Might I ask what your business is here today?"
Gaelan seems far from pleased at armed guards being at the tower, let alone with a woman.
The Captain of the Tairens looks around uneasily, and says in a loud voice, "We're bringing one of the Tower's kind here... High Lord's orders..."
The other guards move up behind him, watching Gaelan closely.
Daline still gapes at the guards, eyeing them before she looks to Harper, her eyes betraying something of a comforting glance through her frightened demeanor, perhaps a bit of empathy as well.
Gaelan looks to the bound woman curiously for a moment. He says, to the woman, "Ye have the gift, Lady?"
Harper shakes her head fiercely, her eyes wild. "No! It's all a bloody mistake, really... Tell this woolhead..." she says, kicking the wagonbed in the Captain's direction.
You sense Harper gives you a pleading look, her face white with fear.
Daline blinks slightly, chewing on her lip. She looks from the guards to Harper then to Gaelan and runs for the Tower. One can only know who or what she's going for.
The Captain smacks the wagonbed, and yells back at her, "You just keep quiet, little witch, we'll have you with your kind in no time..."
Harper looks up as the woman arrives, her eyes wide and frightened.
Raemira comes out of the Tower, her face holding the usual ageless features as she looks about. Her eyes settle on the girl and the guards about her. A small frown appears on her face, as she walks toward them with an elegant grace that denotes time spent in diplomatic situations; being a blue and having once advised an king. She speaks out with what appears to be authority, despite the fact her lack of a shawl or a gown, dressed in a blouse and pants, makes her seem like one of the lesser Aes Sedai, "What is going on here...?"
The Captain blanches a bit, and stammers out, "Um, Aes Sedai.. This girl here, well, she's one of you..." He quickly takes off his cap and wipes at his forehead.
Raemira merely lifts a brow slightly, her eyes taking in the Captain for all he's worth, as if comitting his entire existance to memory. She glances to the young woman, her eyes quietly taking her in with a soft, serene expression, denoting warmth. "Child... do not be frightened you will not be harmed here." Her voice is soft and smooth, welcoming, toward Harper. She moves forth, slowly, as if she were some sort of frightened deer that needs to be coddled and cooed until she perhaps trusts her.
Harper sits in the back of the wagon, huddled over. She eyes the woman warily, her body trembling. She nods incrementally, more to mollify the woman than out of agreement.
The Captain climbs aboard the wagon, cutting at the girl's bonds. Her wrists are bloody where the ropes had been. "Here go, Ae-aes Sedai..." he says, throwing the girl over his shoulder and hopping from the wagon.
Raemira frowns slightly at the Captain, speaking in a stern voice, "Put the child down now, and treat her with some respect while you are before me." Her voice also has the force of authority behind it as if she were the Amyrlin herself, perhaps because she is.
The Captain swallows audibly, setting the girl gently on the cobblestones and stepping back from her, his hands out at his side. "We'll just be going then, mistress... By your leave."
Harper backs away, scrambling on her hands and feet away from Raemira, her face a mask of horror. She hugs the Captains leg, pleading with him. "Please don't let the witches take me, sir... By the Light please don't let them have me..."
Raemira emits a soft sigh, blowing a breath of air up into her face. She slowly, patiently moves forward, "Child... it's best that you stay here, for your own good. You might kill yourself or someone with you." Her voice is gentle and claming when addressing Harper.
[Channeling] Raemira embraces saidar, the warm glow surrounding her. Only those with trained eyes can see. For those within the Tower they might discern it's coming from the courtyard.
The Captain curtly motions to his men, and they scramble aboard the wagon, one of them taking the horse's reins.
The Captain says "By your leave, Madame..."
You whisper "You feel something gentle taking hold of you, as air winds itself about you, almost in a protective, motherly manner." to Harper.
Raemira inclines her head to the Captain, eyeing him, then the child, "Of course Captain. You may go if you wish."
Harper swallows, and sits very still, pushing experimentally at the barrier of air around her. "Please... Take me with you..." she says in a faint whisper to the Captain.
The Captain ignores the girl, cracking the whip and setting the wagon in motion. He wastes no time eaving the courtyard, throwing a last worried glance over his shoulder.
Narth at the edge of the yard jumps out of the way prior to getting run over.
Harper licks her lips nervously, and puts up her hands in a defensive gesture. "There's been a mistake... Really..."
Raemira shakes her head after the captain, something of a slightly angered looking passing over her face, "Flaming Tierans...." She mutters quietly to herself, before allowing her expression to turn into one of calm sereness filled with warmth once more. She does not see Narth, or rather perhaps does not choose to see Narth as her attention settles on Harper, her eyes empathically looking her over. She walks toward the girl then asks quietly, "Have they harmed you on your trip here?" Despite the rumors of the 'witches', Raemira appears rather caring and human.
Narth attempting not to be noticed stays just inside the gate, right behind the guard house.
Harper covers her bloody wrists, shaking her head quickly. "No-no... Aes Sedai. I'm fine, really..." She watches the woman warily, as if sure she's about to be attacked or worse.
Raemira inclines her head sligtly, reaching out her hands to gently touch Harper's wrist, her eyes intent. She speaks softly, kindly even, her voicemeaning to dispel fears, "Let me be the judge of that child."
Harper nods, moving to a defensive kneeling posture, but not resisting in her grasp. "Wh-what should I c-call you please?" she asks tentatively.
[Channeling] Raemira says, "--> Soft flows of air, water and spirit seem to form into a small trickle, devling into Harper. From the effects she feels the cold shock of the OP being used on her as her wounds heal and mend back together."
Harper looks down in horror, pulling her hand back as if bitten. "Light!" she says, doing a quick sign of warding. "I'm not a dark, erm, I'm not one of you.... Please..."
As Raemira touches Harper, something appears different, though you cannot tell exactly what. Or if you notice, you'll see that her wrists are no longer bloody, healed effectively with the OP. Raemira looks up at Harper, wearing a warm expression on her face as she smiles faintly, "I am called many things..." She does not appear to react to the girls actions after the healing, "Raemira is one of them... Some call me mother, and others refer to me as the Amyrlin Seat...." She eyes the girl thoughtfully, then glances over at Gaelan, requesting politely, "Could you please see that a room in the guest area be set up for her?" Without waiting to see if Gailen responds she turns her warm expression back on Harper, emitting a soft, friendly chuckle, "And despite rumors or what people may think, we are not and never will be darkfriends. We abhor servants of the dark and fight them, believe it or not, with as much vigor as the Children of Light. Peopl just hate what they do not understand."
Daline curtsies very quickly when shenotices the Accepted, her eyes turnin tothe exit with fright.
Rellayne smiles faintly in acknowledgment to the Novice, though one brow quirks in curiosity at her expression as she glances outside.
Harper listens raptly, nodding silently to everything she says. Her eyes widen as she notices her wrists. "Bloody ashes..." she murmurs softly, rubbing at them. "You're the bleeding Amyrlin..." she says wonderingly, gulping loudly. "Heh, nice to meet you, Amyrlin..." she says with what she hopes is an endearing smile.
Daline seems oddly quiet and especially frightened, though that's normal for this particular novice as rumor has surely spread.
Rellayne shrugs her shoulders slightly, giving the girl another bemused look, though she doesn't ask a question. She just continues outwards.
Raemira lifts a brow slightly at the colorful language and emits another warm and friendly chuckle, "Yes, that I am.... and I suppose I'm viewed as the head of all shadowspawn as well... hmm?" Her tone is light and joking while dealing with the young girl, not at all harsh or negative. Her ageless eyes peer at the girl, sadly though, with a sort of knowledge behind them, "Though those men were right. You do have the Creator's gift within you. A nice one at that... surely you would want to expand that gift and learn to use it to it's full potential?"
Harper shakes her head violently. "I just want to go home.. Isn't there anything I can do? I'll do anything, I swear..." There is a desperate note creeping into her voice, as she realizes this is for real. She pushes back slightly, almost poised to run. "I'll do anything..."
[Channeling] Raemira's bonds do not let up, in fact they see to keep a nice hold on Harper.
Rellayne pushes through through the main doors of the Tower and goes to the Courtyard.
Rellayne walks down the steps into the Courtyard, after pushing through the main doors of the Tower.
Harper struggles as she realizes she's truly bound. "Light burn my eyes..." she curses softly.
Raemira sighs slightly, "If I let you go, you may well kill yourself with your gift.... or others..." Her eyes remain saddened, as if this were a bad thing, "I cannot in good consience let that happen. I will, perhaps, make you an offer...? If you are interested. If you were... to say... study here as a Novice for a period of time... until, say you are of safe enough level go to on your own... we could then let you leave, if you stil desired."
Rellayne steps out, pausing at the foot of the steps to curtsey to the Amyrlin, although she may or may not see it, Lips pressed together lightly, she moves to the side, watching the flows with as much interest as the tableau itself.
Harper stops struggling, giving the Amyrlin a weighing look, tinged with terror. "I..." she nods after a moment, pushing at her bonds. "What other choice do I have?" she asks rhetorically, "Of course that's what I'll do..."
Harper goes limp, any hope fading from her eyes.
Raemira inclines her head slightly, offering a faint, yet warm smile, "I promise you will not be harmed here, in any way. Aes Sedai do not lie, that is one of our Oaths, as we are bound to keep that oath as well as the other two." That comforting and compassionate look appears through her ageless features again, watching her.
Harper nods agreeably, obviously trying not to anger the woman. "Y-yes, Amyrlin..." she says softly, "But I'm not one of you... You'll see." She tries to stand, letting out a slightly frustrated sigh at being restrained.
[Channeling] Raemira says, "The flows of air loosen just a bit, enough to allow Harper to walk along with Raemira if desired. They are still wrapped about her in a gentle and caring manner however."
Rellayne's eyebrows rise a touch, though she stays silent, watching only.
Gaelan watches the conversation impassively, taking in the rapport being established.
Harper stands, still pushing experimentally at the bonds that surround her. "I should follow you?" she asks the Amyrlin tentatively. Her tone is that of one talking to something wild and unpredictable, soft and almost soothing.
Raemira inclines her head, her gaze and demeanor remaining soft, "Please do....." She glances over at Rellayne, "Could you please come with us Child?" She may be requesting with words, though her voice appears to be giving an order.
Harper walks slowly to the Amyrlin, her hands at her side, palms open. She gives a quick and very polite nod to Rellayne, and shifts to watch the Amyrlin expectantly.
Gaelan watches the procession, joining its ranks as they move into the tower.
Rellayne nods slowly. 'Of course, Mother." She unclasps her hands, moving to follow the pair.
Raemira quietly walks toward the Tower, her eyes watching Rellayne seemingly waiting for her to fall in. She stops at the Tower stairs and appears to wait, just as expectantly as Harper. She nods to the girl, then turns to head into the tower, confident that Harper will follow without a scene.
You walk up the steps and go through the main doors of the Tower.
[Traversing through the Entrance Hall: White Tower, Tar Valon}
Harper walks into the Entrance Hall of the Tower from the Courtyard.
Rellayne walks into the Entrance Hall of the Tower from the Courtyard.
Gaelan walks into the Entrance Hall of the Tower from the Courtyard.
Daline jumps from her little corner, noticing the accepted and Raemira entering. She quickly does a curtsey, though fumble it a bit, then looks as if she's doing some sort of chore, dusting perhaps.
Harper shudders as she enters, making a sign of warding. "Light burn me..." she says under her breath, looking queasy.
Raemira quietly leads Harper and Rell toward the common wing, walking slowly enough so that all may follow along. She glances back at Harper, emitting a soft sigh, 'It really is not that bad. The Tower stands against all that the Dark Lord stands for, I assure you..." Once again her voice is gentle as she enters the common wing.
[Continuing to travel through the Common Wing: White Tower, Tar Valon]
Rellayne trails after, her expression quietly bemused as she keeps her pace.
Rellayne wanders into the common area of the Tower from the Entrance Hall.
Gaelan wanders into the common area of the Tower from the Entrance Hall.
Raemira continues toward the Guest area, slowly and surely. Servants and other people gaze upon the procession, offering faint smiles to those that passby before going back to work.
Harper nods, keeping any hint of skepticism from her face as she answers Raemira with, "Yes, Amyrlin..." quite dutifully she thinks.
You open an ornately decoracted door and enter into the Guest Chambers.
[The procession meanders to the Guest Chambers: White Tower, Tar Valon}
Harper emerges into the Guest Chambers, leaving behind the Common Wing.
Rellayne emerges into the Guest Chambers, leaving behind the Common Wing.
Gaelan emerges into the Guest Chambers, leaving behind the Common Wing.
Harper blinks as they enter, sliding a hand over the armoire almost wonderingly, taken aback by the beauty of the room.
Raemira turns and glances at Harper, then walks over to Rellayne, lowering her voice enough so that only snippets can be heard. She mutters to Rellayne, "... They have... head with the... of Aes... being of... Dark. I... for you... her... Accepted... watch... If they... tell... come..." She looks over and glances at Harper, speaking softly, "This will be your room for now. Until we can get you settled in."
Rellayne senses "Raemira turns and glances at Harper, then walks over to Rellayne, lowering her voice enough so that only snippets can be heard. "She is new, and Tieran. They have filled her head with the rumors of Aes Sedai being of the Dark. I wish for you to watch her and set another Accepted to watch her. If they oppose you, please tell them to come to me." She looks over and glances at Harper, speaking softly, "This will be your room for now. Until we can get you settled in.""
Harper nods, keeping her back to a wall. "Yes Amyrlin..." she says softly, watching the group warily. She bites at the skin around her nails, the nails already chewed to the quick.
Rellayne's hands fold again in front of her, her mein still quiet, as she stands just inside the doorway. As the Amyrlin comes over to her she tilts her head to hear, nodding as she listens. "I will, Mother," she says, quietly, before turning to smile faintly to Harper.
[Channeling] Raemira says, "The bonds appear to loosen and disappear, as the glow of saidar dissipates around Raemira."
Raemira smiles warmly at Harper, not once making an ill move toward the young girl. She respectfully keeps her distance as she watches her with keen ageless eyes, perhaps looking for a reaction from her.
Harper sighs relievedly as the bonds disappear. Moving her arms experimentally she gives the Amyrlin a weak smile in lieu of a thank you. "So I should just stay here then..." she says, more a statement than a question, not quite meeting anyone's eye.
Raemira inclines her head slightly, "If you would, yes. However if you want to walk about the Tower, Accepted Rellayne here can escort you and show you your way about." She watches Harper for a moment, something of a thoughtful expression covering her face, "She and you might have more in common than you know, for she too is from Tear.... and had something similar happen to her when they discovered that she had the ability."
Harper blinks, giving Rellayne a searching look, as if the thought of a Tairen Accepted were alien to her. "Yes, Amyrlin..." she stammers, attempting a curtsey, rather unsuccessfully. "I'll stay here if it's all the same..." She plops down heavily on the bed, rubbing at her temples.
Rellayne just smiles back to Harper mildly, shoulders lifting in a faint shrug as she considers the girl.
Raemira inclines her head slightly, offering a faint smile, "If that is your wish. If you will excuse me, I have a few things that need my attention.
Raemira turns to the exit and leaves.
[Meanwhile, within the Entrance Hall......]
Tori walks into the Entrance Hall of the Tower from the Courtyard.
Theron walks into the Entrance Hall of the Tower from the Courtyard.
Tamarind pads into the Entrance Hall, ermerging from the circular ramp up.
Daline appears to be meekly dusting the tables within the area. Upon noticing Tamarind Sedai she curtsies, though fumbles through it, getting back to work afterwards.
Theron strides purposefully towards Tori, his expression neutral. His eyes however are wide, and he carefully watches any other women around the room.
Tori's eyes dart around quickly, becoming even more scared as she sees Theron cahsing her, she backs into the wall, glaring at Theron.
Tamarind seemingly takes no note of the Novices and Accepteds that hustle about the room upon their own business, her even, graceful strides bring her to the side of a shorter, dark haired woman, another Aes Sedai by the ageless expression upon her face. The two engage in a quiet, and lowly melodic conversation, overhearable by none, their expressions are pleasant.. as pleasant as they can be.
Theron smiles gently at Tori and says "Las..you didn't have to run away. I just wanted to talk.
Daline blinks, her eyes widening brightly as she notices the chase. Upon seeing the man within the Tower, she too backs up against the wall, balling up into a tight knot, seemingly getting into a rather disturbing state.
Tori's hand reaches towards her side, her eyes suprised as she finds no weapon there. "I told ye to git away!"
Theron chuckles softly and says "Are you sure? After all, I could regale YOU with a story in exchange for yours.."
Tamarind half turns, it might be the echoing of louder voices that draws her attention from the woman she converses with toward a young woman with her back against the wall and Theron in her face. Her mien is blank, calm and ageless, but her eyes are hard and suddenly focused on the pair.
Irinya pads into the Entrance Hall, ermerging from the circular ramp up.
Tori darts out and with all her strength, pushes Theron away, then runs forward with her head looking backwards at Theron, bumps into Tamarind.
Theron chuckles as Tori runs past him. He sees her bump into the woman, and his eyes widen. He makes a rather quick bow. For all it's abruptness, the bow is still elegant and smooth.
Daline is currently, balled up on the floor, watching Theron with a look of fear in her eyes. He's in front of Tori, no where near her. She does not seem to notice Irinya Sedai entering, eyes transfixed on Theron. Some might know after dealings at home, seeing men usually traumatizes her.
Irinya comes walking down the ramp, apparently heading towards Tamarind. Her face is calm and smooth, like a copper statue, and her skirts make sounds like 'swish swish' when she walks, hugging her legs neatly. She stops short upon seeing what happens in the hall, her dark eyes sharpening visibly.
Tamarind is forced to actually take a step or two away as Tori bumps into her. Blue velvet rustles, and encrusted embroidery glitters in the early morning sun as she regains her balance and half turns to follow the girl with her eyes. "Stop." Not spoken harshly, it is yet a command, and the rich melodic tenor of that voice rings throughout the entrance hall.
Tori stops suddenly, frozen ina crouch by those words, although her pupils are small and feral. she seems to be calming down somewhat.
Irinya takes in the situation, sharp, intimidating eyes moving to Daline, then Tori, then... Theron, studying him like someone would study a bug in a box.. A rather unpleasant feeling. She walks over to Tamarind's side, her attention coming to Tori yet. Her coppery smooth face reveals no expressions or hints of what she is thinking.
Tori's eyes dart between the two nervously, her body shaking although she remains in a crouched position.
Tamarind smiles at Tori, faintly, but pleasantly nonetheless.. and emerald eyes find and hold tight to those of an odd golden hue. No expression comes to disturb the serenity of her face as she speaks again, studying the girl and somehow giving the impression she notes everything away someplace for further use. "You may stand, Child. No one will hurt you here and now." There is the stone of absolute certainty in her voice, though it is soothing in its odd way.
Tori stands slowly, and its now evident that before it wasn't her entire body shaking, but her hands. She looks at TAmarind slowly, her nose deflaring as she stuffs her hands in her pockets.
Daline continues to huddle in a frightened mass, duster in her hands, which are white from gripping the handle, as she watches Theron. She appears to be trembling, her eyes showing that she expects, perhaps, some kind of punishmet for being who she is.
Irinya also offers Tori a small smile, not reaching much of her eyes, but it is still a change on her almost rigid face. She looks at Tamarind, a questioning expression appearing on her face. Not demanding to know anything, but curious. Then her gaze falls on Theron and she speaks in her smooth, rich voice. "Young man, I take it an explanation from you might be very well in place for the moment? " The words are like a suggestion, but the tone of her voice hints that she wants answers..
Tamarind remains quiet for a time, finally flicking her gaze from Tori to Theron and then at last to Daline not that far across the room. She shares that knowing glance with Irinya, the two almost seeming to know each other's minds every now and again, and as the Red Ajah Sister handles the man in the room, she steps lightly across the polished floor, footsteps making not a sound, and comes to rest again somewhere between the trembling Novice and Tori. She turns first to the girl in white, and her voice does not carry far, but is gentle beneath its authority. "You need not fear in this place, he will not be permitted to come near you." She includes the golden eyed woman in the next statement. "Nor you."
Theron watches the young woman cowering on the floor. He makes a deep sigh when he realizes he sems to be the source of her terror. He gives her a soft smile, and then turns to Irinya as she speeks. Glancing at her, and realizing where he is, he makes a quick bow. Looking back at Tori he says in a sonorous voice, testing the echoes of the room, "I wanted to talk to that young lady. She ran away with no cause, and I merely wished to speak to her, and assure her I meant no harm nor insult"
Irinya moves closer to Theron, or sliding rather, the ruffling of silk a sound to add to others in the room. She gazes directly into his eyes, as if ripping out his every thought and expression he tries to hide there. It's what it might feel like at least.. Her voice is smooth and soft, almost low, like velvet on smooth polished marble.. "You did, did you? If the Light has not blinded me, it seems she isn't very keen on talking to you?"
Tori remains quietly, shuffling to a side wall very far from where Theron is standing. She removes her hands which have stopped trembling, then stuffs them back in her pockets. Her eyes are still darting from one person to the other, but then focus on Theron, then on Irinya and Tam.
Theron stands tall, not backing down from the woman's gaze. He quirks a merry smile and says "I have never heard that it is a crime for ANY person to come to this place. Are you telling me it is, Aes Sedai?"
Tamarind knows very well that Irinya can fully handle the situation in regard to the man, so she keeps her rather intense attention now upon Tori.. perhaps there is a flicker of recognition or question in those deeply verdant eyes, but only for a moment before the dispassion comes again. "Child, will you bespeak me as to why you have come to the Tower? Have you a petition to make?" Rich and deep, her lilting voice is held at a softer level that its usual crisp command.
Irinya doesn't seem to share Theron's merry smile. Her unsettling expression is there, as if her face was frozen in it. "It could become a crime if you continue following this young lady. As it is of now, she will remain in our protection if she wishes, at least until you've stated your business. If you wish to speak to the young lady in our protection, it will go through me or my collegue. " She doesn't need to hint that the 'collegue' is Tamarind.
Caraline pads into the Entrance Hall, ermerging from the circular ramp up.
Irinya is standing more or less right in front of Theron right now
Theron continues to smile. His eyes show a little of the whites, perhaps belieing his easy expression. His voice is still clear as he says "If I wish to talk to her, I will. I merely wished to appologize for scaring her. Now..if you would presume to 'take charge' of this situation..then do so. I however, do not care to treat with you.." He spins, his cloak furling about himself.
Caraline enters, she seems to be looking for someone. She smiles upon seeing Irinya and Tamarind Sedai. After what seems like forever, she begins to curtsey. It's perfect: in depth and in the angle of her head and body. "Irinya Sedai, Tamarind Sedai" She murmurs in mid-curtsey with her head looking down at the floor.
Theron walks slowly and purposefully towards the front door...
Rellayne wanders into the Entrance Hall of the Tower from the Common Hall.
Tori looks at Tamarind slowly, her gaze moving from her feet up to Tamarind's face, focusing slowly on the expression there. She opens her mouth slowly, the words seeming to drag out of her mouth like molassas on sandpaper. "Nay.. I was walking towards the Tower, curious ast such a beautiful structure when this man stopped me. I left without answering one of his questions, and he chased after me. When I saw him, I ran directly in here..", her words are beautifully articulated and pronounced, strange from such a wild-looking girl.
Irinya answers Theron. "As a matter of fact, you will not talk to her, wheter you wish or not. I do not find it very amusing with insolent boys scaring the ladies then demanding things. " She smiles, and oh so very unpleasantly. "To talk to her, you will have to deal with me... And if you don't follow the rules, you might find it very far from your liking. "
Rellayne steps smoothly down the ramp, a slight, thoughtful frown creasing her forehead. A question's clearly written on her face at all the people, but she just gives everyone a curious glance and faint smile with a well-executed curtsey of acknowlegement.
Daline is currently, balled up on the floor, watching Theron with a look of fear in her eyes. He's in front of Tori, no where near her. She does not seem to notice Rellayne entering, eyes transfixed on Theron. Some might know after dealings at home, seeing men usually traumatizes her.
Irinya is directing sharp words at a leaving Theron..
Tori has calmed down much and is talking to Tamarind.
Caraline watches the scene. She patiently waits to one side until Irinya Sedai turns her attention to her.
Theron stops in his steps. He looks back to the Aes Sedai and snorts "I am hardly a boy." He glances over to Tori, and in a loud voice says "Milady, I merely wished to talk. I am deeply sorry if I frightened you. I am stayin at the Inn jsut where we met. If you would ever like to avail me of a drink...find me there." He looks back to Irinya and makes her a rather deep bow. He says sarcastically "Light shine on you, Aes Sedai." And with that, he continues on towards the door.
Semarra pads into the Entrance Hall, ermerging from the circular ramp up.
Theron yelps a little. A hand darts to the back of his leg, and he rubs it furiously. Though he limps..he keeps on towards the door.
Caraline slowly curtsies again as she sees Semarra. She doesn't wobble like usual, she attempts to stay perfectly calm. "Semarra Sedai."
Semarra comes down the stairs from the upper levels, hr hips swaying pleasantly as she moves. Seeing those gathered she offre them a pleasant smile, her eyes lingering on some forms longer then others. A fine eyebrow arches at the yelp, but she comtinues down the stairs, giving Irinya a pleasant smile in nod if her head in greating.
Irinya answers Theron with a smooth, unpleasantly calm voice. "Yes you are, especially as you behave as such. And I cannot recall giving you any permission to talk to her? Now be off before I make you wish you'd be a fast runner. " With that she turns, ignoring any further answers from him.. She then turns towards Tori, and notices Semarra. She smiles pleasantly, inclining her head. "Sister."
Rellayne presses her lips together, eyes brightening slightly as she stifles her grin before she, too, executes a curtsey to Semarra. She stands still not far from the ramp, though she moves over a bit out of the way.
Semarra reaches the bottem of the stairs, "Greetings Sister, how fare you this fine day?"
Daline is currently, balled up on the floor, watching Theron with a look of fear in her eyes. He's in front of Tori, no where near her. She does not seem to notice Semarra entering, eyes transfixed on Theron. Some might know after dealings at home, seeing men usually traumatizes her.
Theron yelps as he reaches the door. One knee buckles and sinks to his knees. A rather strangled sob escapes him, and with a show of supreme will, he manages to get to his feet and stumble out the door.
Theron pushes through through the main doors of the Tower and goes to the Courtyard.
Semarra's emerald eyes turn sharply on Theron, pinpointing him with her disconcerting gaze. "Of all the nerve." She says calmly, "The aragance of some of the tower's visiters these days."
Irinya simply ignores Theron, except for a wave, the way someone shoos off an annoying fly or something. Surprisingly, she walks over to Daline, her hard expression softening significantly, the way she can be towards women and novices sometimes.. She squats slowly in front of her. "What is wrong, child? " Her voice is different from her normal, it is almost.. motherly.
Rellayne's gaze is torn between Theron's exit and Daline's predicament now, that frown still putting a line on her forehead.
Tamarind's eyes do not so much as flicker as she waits for Tori to finish her tale. She does not have to even glance over her shoulder to know quite well that the man has met his match, and with a lissom grace, she paces one light step closer to the golden eyed young woman.. no threat or anything else upon her countenance. "You have no need to run now, Child. I can promise you that a man will not hurt you in this place." She turns to look upon Daline, and again the situation is in hand.. so she returns to her conversation with Tori one more time. "Do you have a name?"
Semarra inclines her head towards the Keeper as she returns, "Greetings Tamarind Keeper." She says with a much more pleasant smile then the one she gave Theron on his...hasty departure. She then turns her gaze upon Tori as well, but it has lost its preditary nature.
Tori speaks softly, her eyes suddenly less golden and softer, her figure no longer tense, but relaxed as she speaks, "My name is Tori.. I'm sorry to have caused so much trouble.."
Daline 's frightened eyes appear to follow Theron as he leaves, and only then does she notice the other Aes Sedai, especially since she's being singled out. Her wide, terrified eyes look up at Irinya, chewing on her lip a considerable amount, self-loathing evident within her eyes. She looks about to speak but stops, though thinks better of it, her eyes averting rather quickly to the floor. "I... I... he... he..." is all she can manange to stutter out, perhaps tugging at your mind that she's not the best of talkers. She emit a soft sigh, nearly dropping the duster when she notices how tightly she's gripping it, "J...j...just...f..fr..frightened..." She pauses, almost seemingly giving herself a sharpened look, trying once more to get everything out. "O..o...of m...m..men."
Caraline's eyes shift back and forth between Irinya-Tori-Tamarind and gives an occasional glance to Daline. She sighs too softly to be heard as she has successfully once again drifted into the 'unoticeable' background. She decides to walk over to Daline to see what's wrong. She moves and squats besides Daline, "Hi Daline, how come you're here, like this?" She attempts to comfort the older(?) woman with a hand on her back.
Semarra smiles At Tori, then looks to Daline. Her eyebrow arching slightly as Cara interupts the Sitter's questioning, with ones of her own.
Rellayne isn't much good at giving comfort, nor does she particularly want to interfere, so her own sharply observant glance flickers across each grouping, the frown slowly smoothing its lines as she concentrates, instead, on what's in front of her.
Tamarind studies Tori some more, making mental notes and focusing so that Daline's predicament is not in the forefront of her mind. She inclines her head in an elegantly graceful greeting to Semarra as she nears, "Sister.." then moves her eyes back to the other woman instead. "You have not caused the trouble, Child, the person who did is now gone." Her voice keeps itself low and non threatening.. almost masking the sharp decisiveness of itself.. and utterly concealing any hint of anything beyond common courtesy. "Tori, what brings you to Tar Valon? Your clothing does not mark you as being from around here."
Irinya purses her full lips slightly, glancing quickly at Caraline squating at her side. She doesn't say anything about it though, instead she turns back to Daline and continues in her soft voice. "Men aren't that dangerous. Especially not in the Tower. No one will hurt you here. " She looks at the duster, contemplating, then smiles with surprising warmth "I cannot see any reason for you to continue this chore in this condition. " She looks at Caraline and says smoothly. "Novice, take your friend here up to her room, fetch tea on the way and be with her until she feels better. Then I want you to report to me."
Tori thinks for a moment, her gaze becoming softly wary as she sticks her hands in her pockets again, her voice sharp and carefully controlled, like a finger tapping on hollow wood. "I found it.. just a few days ago."
Semarra chuckles softly, wether it is at the trouble's hasty departure...or of the idea of anyone being afraid of a man...it is diffacult to tell. But the twinkle in her emerald eyes says she's simply amused.
Caraline turns to look at Irinya Sedai, she stands up, nods and curtsies. "Yes, Irinya Sedai, of course." She bends down beside Daline and offers a hand to help her up.
Tamarind permits the tiniest curving of an amused smile at Semarra's reaction, knowing the woman well enough to interpret it for exactly what it is. She flicks her a sidewards glance, knowing, before placing her full attention on Tori again. "You just found the city? Did your people not tell you of Tar Valon?"
Semarra would prolly give Tamarind and innocent look..if she were capable of it. Instead she just returns a knowing smile and listens to the conversation at hand.
Tori's brow arches into wrinkles, shifting slightly under all the attention. She fidgets her feet for a moment before speaking, her bright golden eyes narrowing and reconsidering Tamarind, her voice becoming more wary than before as she speaks, during which she shifts her gaze between the Aes Sedai. "My people?", she seems confused but continues, "I.. I have no
Rellayne stays in the background, still, her hands settling to their usual listenign pose: clasped in front of her, back held straight in perfect posture.
Daline allows Caraline to help her and more or less follows her along toward the ramp up
Caraline starts winding her way up the carpeted ramp, disappearing as she turns a corner.
Tori shifts her gaze and focuses on Semarra, her pupils narrowing as she studies her face. "Several places.. I have never had a people.."
[Scene Change: Novice Dorms: White Tower, Tar Valon]
Marisel is still at work copying line after line down in the little jounal that Irinya gave her after she was caught with a man last night.
Daline is aided by Caraline to her room, door closing behind her. She seems as if a wreck.
Marisel makes a growly little sound of disgust as she fairly tosses her quill to the table's top and shoves the book across right after it. "Stupid, this is stupid." Only then, does she seem to notice you have entered, and she turns around with a frown before softening her face, bold as she is, she does possess a heart. "Are you.. are you alright?"
Daline glances over her shoulder at Marisel, her eyes holding a certain bit of fright. She merely nods yes, unable to speak much within her state.
Marisel bites at her bottom lip and puzzles you out, not being half so insensitive as her flamboyant manner might make sometimes make her appear. Her throaty voice is just above a whisper as she scrooches out of her chair and eases herself to the floor, not too far away. "Now, I know that look.. I' ve seen it before, at home, afore I a came here. Something must be wrong to have stolen away your voice entirely."
Daline just shrugs slightly, full well knowing she's more comfortable not speaking. She heads over to her own bend and slides into it, pulling the covers over her head quietly, almost as if she wants to hide from the sight of everyone, including herself.
Marisel frowns deeply now, and has seen that look indeed.. many times on the streets where she was spawned. She twines ebon hair around her fingertip and studies your still form beneath the blankets. "I am here, Daline. If you change your mind and wanna talk.. or need anything." She seems quite unsure as to how to progress from here.
Daline just appears to pull the covers about her a bit tighter, as if closing herself off from the world. Being this way, it's really a wonder how she become part of the Tower in the first place.
