Gaining A Keeper

Tower Office Wing: White Tower, Tar Valon

Occupants: Caraline, Raemira

Caraline sees the Amyrlin and curtsies deeply.

Raemira walks quietly out of the office, carrying a small stack of papers as she does so. She glances at Caraline and inclines her head slightly, "Good evening Novice..." then continues forward.

With a tone filled with reverence and respect, she responds. "Mother."

[Scene Change: The Amyrlin continues down the ramp and on toward the exit of the building.

Courtyard: White Tower, Tar Valon

Occupants: Rellayne, Irinya, Semarra, Gaelan]

Irinya comes striding across the yard, as if she was made of ice. You have never seen Irinya this -cold- It is apparent that it is not Rellayne's fault. Something must have happened. Something shining through this strongly in Irinyas features is very likely serious.

Raemira exits the white tower, walking down the steps rather carefully. In her hands is a packet of several parchments and papers. She looks about the area as she comes out, raising a brow slightly at the gathering, her eyes curious.

Gaelan is standing with Lis (who is rebooting), who is full of giggles and bounces.

Semarra is standing a distance away, giving the occassional nasty look at Gaelan.

Tamarind is scowling in general, and Irinya looks just too darn serious for something NOT to be wrong.

Rellayne follows in Irinya's wake, her expression a mix of consternation, bemusement and simple curiosity. And she has to /follow/ this woman. This is not a Good Thing, in her estimation. Her skirts twitch a curtsey to the other Aes Sedai as she sees them.

Tally walks down the steps into the Courtyard, after pushing through the main doors of the Tower.

Irinya slows down, then looks at Rellayne. "Accepted. The most recent situation is most unfortunate, and no anger will be taken out on you for it. Come, let us go inside to do the lecture instead. " Seeing Raemira, she curtsies perfectly, her coldness diminishing a little, the respect for the Amyrlin evident. Then she walks inside the Tower

Tally looks to Rellayne in askance at the mention of a lecture.

Raemira furrows her brow only slightly as if trying to figure out all the angered looks.

Rellayne sighs almost visibly, shoulders rising and falling, and nods to Irinya. A passing smile is given to the others, and fingers curling into her palms where they're hidden in her skirts, she follows the Sister inside.

Raemira gives Irinya a curious look, her eyes veiled slightly as she does so, perhaps communicating she will later find out what has transpired. Afterwards she moves further down the steps and heads toward the Barracks.

Irinya gives Raemira a hint that she will find out..

Irinya walks up the steps and goes through the main doors of the Tower.

Rellayne walks up the steps and goes through the main doors of the Tower.

Lisendra realizes she must look a fool and stops dancing around giggling.

[Scene Change: The Amyrlin passes to the area which houses the Gaidin.

Warder Living Area: White Tower, Tar Valon

Occupants: Coerel, Raemira]

Raemira walks into the area carrying a set of papers within her hands. She appears to be looking about the barracks for someone, perhaps sensing them nearby.

Coerel steps out of one of the rooms, looking about. He spots Raemira and crosses the area to meet her.

Raemira's eyes meet Coerel's quietly as he comes up to her, seemingly taking in everything at once. After a moment a slight smile appears on her face as she speaks, "Would my Gaidin like to join me for a walk...?" Her voice appears very congenial.

Coerel returns the smile with one of his own. He bows his head, "As you wish, Aes Sedai."

Raemira nods slightly, speaking softly, "I do so wish, Coerel. I am finding that tensions are high within the Tower and I need a breather. How does the Ogier grove sound?"

Coerel nods, "Sounds just fine, Raemira Sedai." He turns to head out the door, waiting for you to move.

Raemira walks toward the door an exits, still holding her papers within her hands.

You pass through a set of large double doors, heading into the barracks hallway.

Coerel matches his stride with yours.

You open the door and leave the Barracks..

[Scene changes to the Courtyard: White Tower, Tar Valon

Occupants: Rock, Semarra, Lisendra, Gaelan]

Coerel enters the Courtyard through an opening in the large wall surrounding the Practice Yard.

Lisendra is looking as if she wants to just melt away under the Aes Sedai's icy stare.

Gaelan stands with Lisendra, looking curiously at Semarra.

Semarra continues to stare down the girl that moments before was giggling and bouncing around /her/ Gaidin. She gets a slight respite as Semarra notices the Amyrlin. Turning from the girl as if she didn't exist, Semarra inclines her head in greeting, "Mother, may the light illume you."

Semarra's voice is /much/ more pleasant.

Lisendra lets out a long breath and un clenches her lip looking as if her feet may not hold her any longer.

Coerel walks out right beside Raemira. His eyes seem to take in the entire courtyard in a single moment, though you feel he didn't miss any detail.

Rock is walking towards the Practice Yards, whistling a small tune and trying to avoid the Aes Sedai who is berating Lisendra ... well giving her the once over at least. He halts mid stride when Raemira walks out of the Barracks area and frowns.

[Channeling] Tamarind reaches out somewhere within the Tower for saidar, and almost immediately upon being infused by its warmth, weaves and intricate patterning of spirit, water and air as she works a small healing.. and then lets the power flow away.

Lisendra breathes deeply and still looks as if her footing may leave her at any moment.

Raemira walks out of the Barracks with Coerel, her stride rather laid back and casual, however she keeps her hands on those papers of hers. She lifts a brow faintly at Semarra perhaps having caught the dirty look she was giving Lisendra. Almost immediately that brings her attention to the young girl, her voice strong and clear, "Child, have you business at the Tower?"

Lisendra shakes gently as she answers in a soft stuuddering voice, "I.... was just .... leaving .... Mother .... I... Ca... came her to... wat... watch my friend Practice...."

Semarra turns her gaze back on the girl, pinning her once more as she awaits an answer to the Amyrlin's question. Still she ignores Gaelan.

Something of a slight frown appears on Raemira's face as she speaks out once more, "The Tower is not a place for social calls. If you wish to meet your friend, you must do so outside of the Tower grounds or you may find yourself put to work within it's walls."

Semarra smiles slightly, as if /that/ thought pleases her to no ends. She goes so far as to add, "I am sure the latrines could handle a good scrubbing." All steetness and light now.

Lisendra stands a little straighter, "My friend is not a Trainee... He was vsting with me and started sparing with some of the Warders." Raemira lifts a brow at Lisendra's bravado, "As I said, the Tower is not a place for social calls. If he was not a trainne, then he was either a Guard or one of those working here, or a Gaidin. If it were the last you might wish it weren't Some Aes Sedai are not very happy with those that 'meet' with their Gaidin."

Semarra's smile takes on a rather preditorial twist, though only the Amyrlin would notice...and perhaps Gaelan.

Lisendra grins softly as if she knows, "No... He wanted to see the Tower for the first time and we went to the Practice Yard... He is Lord Anatole of House Agnon."

Semarra looks unphased by the title, as if they mean litle to her.

Lisendra doesn't care about titles really either and is just speaking the truth.

Raemira frowns slightly at this as well, "To see the Tower?" This is not a tourist site either. This is a place of business where those who wander in could be potentiallt harmed by those who are new to channeling. Classes are often held out side and not all novices can control their abilities." She points to a scorched mark on the wall, perhaps made from some sort of large fire. Below it you'll notice a rather burned out tree stump.

Semarra smirks, rather proudly, "Put that there myself...thing still hasn't grown back."

Coerel whispers to Raemira and then runs back inside

Lisendra frowns and runs a hand through her hair. "I thought..." stops as if reminding herself orf somthing and then says, "Mother, I ask if I may leave."

Coerel pulls open the door to the Barracks and leaves the Courtyard.

Raemira inclines her head after Coerel then turns her attention back to Lisendra, "Yes, you may." Well, she is the Amyrlin, she's apt to change her mind about things, even letting people walk around, however if you notice one of your Aes Sedai unhappy, you arent just gonna stand there. She sighs lightly, glancing after Coerel, muttering quietly, "I guess I shall have to speak with him later.

Semarra smiles pleasantly at the young girl now, after the Amyrlin's words are spoken.

Lisendra smiles and curtsies deeply to bothe Aes Sedai although a lot deeper for the Amyrlin and turns to go.

Lisendra passes through the Alindrelle Gates under the watcheful eyes of the Tower Guards.

Semarra turns to the Anyrlin after the girl leaves, giving her a pleasant smile. "I hope this day sees you well, Mother."

Raemira shakes her head slightly, watching as Lisendra leaves. She glances back over at Semarra, then walks over to her, eyes thoughtful before she lowers her voice. She mutters to Semarra, "... was... have... she... to 'visit' your... on... you... my... set..."

Semarra senses "Raemira shakes her head slightly, watching as Lisendra leaves. She glances back over at Semarra, then walks over to her, eyes thoughtful before she lowers her voice. "I dont know what was happening but I have a pretty good idea. If she comes back to 'visit' your Gaidin on Tower Grounds you have my permission to set her to work.""

Semarra smiles even brighter, She mutters to Raemira, "... Mother."

You sense Semarra smiles even brighter, "It will be my pleasure, Mother."

Gaelan looks on at the exchange quietly.

Raemira emits a soft smile, then furrows her brow slightly, thinking aloud, "Now what to do until Coerel gets back..." She peers about the yard then asks, "Is that young girl.. Kyra I believe her name is... still about the Tower. We never got to finish our business."

Semarra frowns, "I have not yet seen her this day."

Coerel enters the Courtyard from the Barracks.

Coerel enters the Courtyard and makes his way back to Raemira's side.

Gaelan stands a bit away from Raemira and Semarra, watching their exchange impassively.

Semarra looks over to the approaching Coerel as she speaks softly with the Amyrlin.

Gaelan nods to Coerel as he enters, a small greeting of respect offerred.

Raemira nods absently to Semarra, and her eyes light up just a bit as Coerel reenters, though that light quickly dies as she glances down at the papers in her hand. She looks back to Coerel and offers simply, "Ready?"

[Channeling] Semarra says, "embraces saidar out in the Courtyard, surrounding herself with the warmth of its glow."

Seeing the two Aes Sedai in conversation, Coerel alters his course and stops near Gaelen. He nods silently to him and turns back to Raemira. "Yes, Aes Sedai.", Coerel says simply.

Raemira starts to head off though stops, giving Semarra a quizical glance.

Semarra smiles pleasantly at something, giving the briefest of glances to Coerel in mysterious explaination.

Raemira inclines her head slightly, then heads toward Coerel, her eyes beckoning him along.

[Channeling] Semarra lets go of the one power.

Raemira appears to be heading toward Osendrellel Gate as she walks along, apparently puzzled by something as she does so.

[Scene Change: Coerel and Raemira walk to the Ogier Grove.

Ogier Grove: Tar Valon, Tar Valon

Occupants: Coerel, Raemira}

Coerel walks in from the west, leaving Treesingers Avenue behind as he takes in the splendor of the Grove. Coerel has arrived.

Raemira continues to hold her papers close to her as she walks about the grove. She heads for a clump of trees deep within the woods.

Coerel walks along quietly with you.

Raemira finds a spot to her liking and stops. She turns around to face you, her eyes thoughtful, "Coerel... have you ever thought about teaching?"

"Not particularly.", he says after a moment.

Coerel's eyes meet yours, "My life has never gone in that direction, you should know that."

Raemira inclines her head slightly, seemingly thoughtful still. She lets out a soft breath, speaking quietly, "I am in need of a Master Gaidin... the last one died with Aelia..." She pauses, gripping her papers to her, "Though I suppose I can look elsewhere...." Not that teaching has anything to do with being the head Gaidin.

A smile plays across his lips, "No you need not look elsewhere, I will do it. Several people have already assumed that I was already."

General surprise passes over Raemira's face, "They have...?"

Coerel nods, his smile forming completely, "Since the old Amyrlin's Warder had the position, they made the conclusion that it was the same with the new."

Raemira ahs slightly, understanind now entering her features, "I see... well.. I suppose it's become something of a tradition. Are you certain you wish the job? It could be almost as grueling as my own."

Coerel nods. "I believe I can handle it. Is that all that was bothering you?", he asks with concern.

Raemira shakes her head slightly, still gripping the papers within her hands. She very reluctantly hands them over to you, her eyes shaded with deep concern, "I found these among my desk items this morning...." The papers contain warnings to Raemira, unsigned, all stating that if she does not resign as Amyrlin that she'll be removed like the other.

Coerel looks through the papers carefully, examining each in turn.

Raemira watches quietly as you look through the appers, her outside appearance effectively hiding any emotions she might be feeling at the moment, however inwardly, you feel something different. Fear? Could it be? From the woman who is supposed to be the Amyrlin.

After several moments, Coerel sighs softly. He raises his head and meets your gaze. "Obviously, you have no intention of resigning, so we will have to be more careful. Firstly, I think I should be near you at all times, or close to it. Second, we need to figure out who would do this and why."

Raemira inclines her head slightly, speaking in an even, controlled voice, "I agree, though it will not be easy finding out who and why."

Coerel seems to think for a few moments, "The only problem is nights. It would not seem proper for me to stay in your rooms..." His voice trails off.

Raemira lifts a brow faintly, her insides stilled at the moment, "You could perhaps stay outside, or post a guard that you trust to stay outside. You would know if harm befell me."

Coerel shakes his head, "When harm befell you it would be too late for me to act. I would much prefer to stay at your side."

[Scene Changes: Eventually Coerel and Raemira return to the Tower, parting ways to get a few things done.

Amyrlin's Office: White Tower, Tar Valon

Occupants: Raemira, Currently]

Pemit to Tamarind - A Tower servant knocks on your door and address Tamarind, excusing herself as she does so, "Excuse me Aes Sedai... the Amyrlin would like to see you within her offices, if you may..."

Tamarind sets aside her book with not too much speed, but no indolence either and nods to the servant with a short word of thanks before hastening herself to the Amyrlin's office.

Tamarind makes it known that she wishes to be admitted to your location.

You admit Tamarind to your location.

Tamarind enters the room, coming in from the Keeper's Office.

Tamarind knocks lightly on the door, and after receiving acknowledgement, slips her way into the room and closes it quietly behind herself before striding across the floor to stand before you.. a short distance away. Her curtsy is precise, and practiced, and she rises with an elegance befitting a queen before inclining her head, and even finding a faint smile. "Light shine upon you, Mother. I received your message, and I have come."

Raemira sits quietly at her desk, looking over some papwers of her own. Upon hearing the knock she looks up, her calm features expressionless, or nearly so. She stands and inclines her head respectfully, motioning to a chair as she speaks, "Light shine upon you, Daughter. Please, be seated."

Tamarind nods once more, her own features schooled carefully into the polite distance of her kind, and with a lissom movement, she sinks herself down into the nearest chair.. velvet skirts falling perfectly into place as she lifts her verdant gaze to you and takes up a posture of patient waiting.

Raemira retakes her own seat, watching you quietly as she folds her arms on her desk, seemingly ponderous for several moments. A lock of auburn hair floats down, very nearly planting itself within her vision, but does not. She lifts a hand to push it back then gets settled once more. She speaks quietly, "You are probably wondering why I summoned you here, correct?"

For only a heartbeat, Tamarind's eyes flicker, speculation seen there.. and then gone, hidden again. Her lips hold a faint smile that is somehow wary at the same time its pleasantness is made known. She does not hesitate at all in answering, her voice clear and low. "I am ever at the service of the Tower, Mother.. for whatever your bidding might be. But I admit, to being curious as to what I might do for you?"

Raemira keeps her face carefully schooled, not showing one iota of thoughts or feelings, tough you might get the sense that she is carefully gauging you,and perhaps what your reaction might be to something she is about to say. She raises her hand to her chin and taps it lightly for a moment, then begins softly, "It is the tradition of the Tower that the Amyrlin appoints someone as her Keeper upon being raised to the Seat. Unfortunately, I had been away for so long that I had not had time to choose the one which would aid me with my work." Her eyes watch you quietly, taking in every nuance, spark of interested, even the placement of your hairs as she speaks. "I believe I have come to a decision."

Tamarind's control remains in place only by the utmost and phenomenal stretches of indominable will, and she does not so much as rustle a skirt as she meets and holds your gaze levelly. But even she cannot entirely conceal the skittering of thoughts across the surface of those orbs. Slowly she entwines her fingers upon her lap and considers her words before nodding and then replying in that same smooth voice, that doesn't even shade with a hint of her thoughts. "Yes Mother, there has been some speculation amongst our Ajah sisters as to whom you pick to be your aid. We had all," here she permits herself a slight smile, "hoped that you would continue tradition and choose a Blue Sister to help you in the monumental work you now face."

Raemira shifts only slightly in her seat, gazing back at Tamarind just as levelly, never once allowing her thoughts to surface. She merely nods, speaking softly, "I am not one to break an Age long tradition had it been in effect still, though I think it's something I had wanted for a long time now..." She pauses her words a moment, her eyes wandering slightly taking in her room, then back to you, a faint smile of her own appearing, "Now then..." She watches quietly, "Do you accept the appointment?"

Tamarind just stares at you, even her poised air of distance somewhat cracked for a moment by words she truly never expected to hear, at least not for many, many years. Somehow, she regains the ageless serenity that is supposed to be wearing upon her features, but this time she does not even attempt to hide the the surprised delight that lurks in the curve of very soft smile. "I, for once, am so taken aback, Mother, that I must grope for words." As the facts slide home in her mind, she seems to assume a prouder carriage as she sits, and her eyes, upon yours seem to light.. subtle reactions, that for her are as loud as cannonshot. She continues on, formally.. "I am honoured to serve both the Tower and to serve you, Mother. You personally. If you so wish it of me, I put myself in your hands and will swear to do for you my utmost in aiding you in any way that I can, even be it as Keeper of the Chronicles."

A soft smile appears on her face as she watches your reactions. Raemira seems pleased perhaps, to see the surprise written there. She speaks out quietly, "I have watched you since I have arrived from Ebou Dar. You have a good head on your shoulders. And I do belive that you can be trusted with the safety of the Tower, especially within these times."

Tamarind looses a quiet breath, and even goes so far as to give a single gentle shaking of her head. For all the ageless composure upon her face, her eyes are steady and hold the truth. "There are no words to ever speak my amazement and honour that you would think so highly of me, Mother. But I do tell you, as the Amyrlin and a woman, that I will give you everything of myself that I can.. And, that I hold the Tower and its good as the pinnacle in my heart." She nods then, so offbalance she doesn't realize she's done it for emphasis sake.

Raemira inclines her head slightly, speaking in her quiet voice, "Words are not needed, and I know your loyalties, they do not need to be restated. I will need to have another meeting with you, perhaps discussing some things that you should know as my Keeper. There is much that would surprise you and much you will find that you cannot mention to anyone, not even your Gaidin."

Tamarind grows more intent, teethed on the great political game by a Cairhienin mother, and she nods with a solemn bent as she listens to you. "I would assume there will be many such things, Mother." Her smile remains, but holds less excitement and more of a quiet eagerness to work and accomplish many things. "Whatever time you find that you need me, any hour of day or night.. I will always hasten to your side."

Again, Raemira seems to smile, watching her now eager Keeper before her, "I would not call you unless tis important, at least, not while you are resting" Her note holds a hint of humor, something she is not without.

Tamarind's smile grows just a fraction once again, and she lifts up her chin and lowers her lashes the tiniest bit. "I don't require too much of that, but I suppose it is a necessity we all do need." She sounds a bit chagrined, and wry at that fact, now that she has been given a responsibilty, that she cannot set to work and keep going until she drops.

Raemira emits a light chuckle, speaking quietly, "You will find that you will need the sleep after a time. It is more work than you can possibly imagine."

Semarra makes it known that she wishes to be admitted to your location.

Raemira glances over at the door, furrowing her brow a bit. A secretary enters, speaking, "Excuse me, sorry to interrupt but Semarra Sedai is outside. Should I tell her to wait, or come in...?" Raemira hesitates for a moment and says, "Please let her in." The secretary nods and leaves again.

Tamarind turns slightly as the secretary arrives, speaks, and then departs, a not unpleasant expression upon her face at the mention of the one who seeks entrance.

You admit Semarra to your location.

Semarra enters the room, coming in from the Keeper's Office.

Gaelan enters the room, coming in from the Keeper's Office.

Gaelan walks in quietly, following Semarra.

Semarra enters the room, followed by her Gaidin. she shows no suprise to see Tamarind there also. "Mother, I am sorry to have disturbed you." She gives a half curtsy to the Amyrlin, a pleasant nod and smile to Tamarind.

Raemira lifts a brow slightly, speaking in her quiet yet strong voice, "We were just finishing, so you were not disturbing us..." She casts a curious glance at both Semarra and Gaelan, "Is there something that needs my attention?"

Gaelan looks to Semarra, but is quiet, otherwise.

Semarra nods, "Yes, I think there might be. Have you had a chance to question the young wilder that came to our attention the other day?"

Raemira shakes her head slightly, "No, I have not. I've had a rather busy schedule of late." She casts a glance at Tamarind, then to the others, "Why what has happened?"

Tamarind simply sits, as if she belongs where she is, her eyes, after meeting the Amyrlin's, move and come to rest upon Semarra and grow as unreadable as the expression upon face as she waits for whatever it is that might be coming.

Semarra does not acknowledge the Amyrlin's glance at Tamarind, instead she continues on. "Mother, it has occured to me that you may want to question her, thuroughly, before sending an entourage to Far Maran. It is very close to the Borderlands as you well know. Whichever group you might send there would be far from any assistance...and very close to a possible subterfuge. If she is in leage with the dark forces...we would be walking right into her trap."

Raemira lifts a brow faintly, "I have yet to read her missive as well. The child ran off before I had a chance to speak with her"

Tamarind betrays no reaction but to draw a measured breath, which is hardly noticeable unless you have been studying her, but no one has. She nods slightly before turning to look upon Raemira herself, "Indeed Mother, these are words of wisdom. The girl is still lodged in the Tower, I placed her with the Novices," she smiles slightly, "As she will eventually reside there anyway. Though your schedule is quite busy, perhaps it would be prudent to find the time to speak more fully with her." It is nothing but a politely voiced opinion. Semarra nods, "Of course Mother. I meant no disrespect, for I am sure that you would have done so anyway." She says rather humbly. "Even if those of us that first discovered her thought that she knew not what she was doing...so neither did that ...man, who came into the courtyard not a week ago." Raemira inclines her head to Tamarind, quietly addressing her, "Can you please look over my appointment book and see when I am free I have yet to sort that thing out..." She flushes faintly then it goes away just as quickly,a small flaw with her. She lifts a brow, "The one still within confines..." She sighs, "I have yet to decide what to do with him"

Semarra inclines her head once more. If she notices that the Amyrlin just defered her schedule to Tamarind, she makes no remark regarding it.

Tamarind nods almost instantly to Raemira, and you can see by the crispness of the action that she is noting something somewhere within the depths of her minds. "I will have your scheduled straightened out by tomorrow, Mother.. and will allow time for the girl to speak her message to you." She does not utter a word upon the issue of the 'man' as she has already spoken her opinion on that.
