| Summary: | A rare lunar eclipse becomes more, as it changes into a harbinger of chaos, which climaxes in the weather's assault against the Tower itself. |
Before you stands a magnificent palace made of delicately sculpted marble, rather than blocks. Gently arching walls and bulging domes rise high into the sky, seemingly just barely touching the clouds with its delicately crafted spires, topping off the breathtaking sight before you. Looking about, one can see a small garden off to the side, with a small winding path down it's center that leads into a maze of bushes where one might get lost if not too careful.
The grounds look much like a garden as trees, flowers and shrubs start to bloom, bringing spring into view. Colors start to come about and birds start singing once again. There are several benches about the grounds where one might be able to sit and relax. The sky shows off pinks, purples and hazy blues as the sun starts to settle beyond the horizon and the stars start to twinkle in early twilight. Aes Sedai seem to stand watch over those occupants in the courtyard area, making sure that Novices don't try to slip away from their chores before they are complete.
A broad stairway, made of pristine white marble, enters into the White Tower, marked by a massive pair of doors decorated with delicate carvings of intricate workmanship. A tall, white wall cascades around the yard, its entrances and exits marked by high gates leading to the street, watched by the Tower Guard. Somewhere in the courtyard you can see buildings for the barracks and the stables. You can also see an entrance to the practice yard, marked of by a row of high hedges.

Morcath, Angharad, Gavin, Sionil
Morcath returns Ang's smile with one of his own and starts heading toward her. However, as usual, his satellites begin to orbit the Gaidin. Today, he only has a double moon as two trainees stop Morcath and begin with the questions.
Long distance to Rhynne: Devon nods. Except I won't be there to coordinate the other scene, but the @emits will work for either place.
The bells of the Tower chime ever so softly, their peals loud at first and gradually dying down. The sun escapes under a final breath against the horizon. Dusk has settled in. The moon glows brilliantly against the clear night sky. Not a cloud can be seen anywhere, even in the horizon. The moon is like a beacon into the dark blue sky, blazing and alighting it even as the sun has gone down. The night of a full moon. Silver and orange seem woven together as this moon reaches its zenith, one of the four times a year when the moon appears just as golden as it does silver. A faint wind traces through the Courtyard from the east, from far off of Tar Valon.
Angharad seems to be relieved to see Morcath. The Accepted rises, closing her book and starts to head over to the Gaidin but stops as the two Trainees gravitate to Morcath and start pesting the Master Gaidin. Angharad sighs, shaking her head, and sits back down where she is.
Devon heads into the Courtyard from the city, a small satchel hanging over her left shoulder. Her blonde hair is up in an elegant bun again today, perhaps a new trend for the Blue Sister. Her gown is a deep midnight blue, slashed on the arms with silver.
Rhynne closes the sliding door as she enters the Courtyard.
Rhynne has arrived.
Sionil glances from her position near the practice yard towards the entrance and the entering Blue
Tsuiko walks down the steps into the Courtyard, after pushing through the main doors of the Tower.
Tsuiko has arrived.
Gavin pushes off his tree and wanders over to the steps of the tower, settleing himself on one of them. He looks about again, more active this time, lacking his sleepy glazed-over look from a moment before..
Apparently Rhynne's spent longer than she thought in the grooming of and talking to her horse, as the young Accepted fairly flies up the stable path and into the courtyard, her actions scattering stray bits of hay from her dress.
Devon finds her attention distracted by the heavenly body, and nearly stumbles at least once. And no, not the heavenly body of a certain Gaidin, but the one in the sky. However, she starts to pay more attention to her footing, and strides towards a small marble bench. Meeting someone, perhaps? The moon continues to interest her, and after a few moments she removes her journal and makes a few quick notes within it.
Morcath does not seem to want to deal with these students just now. "Peace, what did I say earlier?" he asks them in a harsh tone. "I seem to remember telling you two specifically to bother me in the courtyard if it is important and to ask a Sedai if it is in fact important. Now, which Sedai did to ask? And so help me, if you've not followed my instructions you'll be whimpering for your mothers when I'm done with you." The trainees pale and almost skitter to a stop. They look at one another and then vacate the Gaidin's proximity. Morcath nods, satisfied and continues toward Angharad.
Sionil watches the Sedai and looks up into the sky to figure out what's interesting her so much
Tsuiko is busy working on her studies.. She continues to scribble slowly.
Angharad looks away from Morcath has the Master Gaidin does his job. She too, is fascinated by Devon's behavior... and dress. Arching an eyebrow, the Accepted considers the Aes Sedai for a long moment. What is the Blue sister up to. What little plan does she have in the works. As Angharad thinks more, it is evident that her thoughts grow more and more bitter. The Accepted's dark eyes seem to turn mirky with the thoughts in her head. Finally, Angharad looks away, rubbing her temple again. This is not getting any easier.
The full bodied moon continues to light the sky, a light much softer than the light of the sun. As though a mother, shining light upon her children. Poets have waxed endlessly about the moon, turning as many expressions and phrases about her nature. If the moon were truly a her. The soft breeze leading into the courtyard fades away as simply as it started. The sky is truly still for one moment, or so it appears.
Tsuiko taps the edge of her finger at her lips as she looks over the small notes in her book as she really ignores the rest around her. Once Devon nearly trips she pauses and looks over at her friend.
Morcath slows to a stop when he notices Angharad is busy thinking or studying or whatever she is doing there. Of course, the Gaidin would not interrupt a student from their work, so he simply moves to a nearby bench and takes a seat. He watches everyone watching Devon and decides to join in.
Rhynne is brought up short by the sight of the other Accepted across the courtyard and grimaces lightly. Not exactly the person she wanted to see, nope. Well fortunately there are others here, but the light bathing the place--it draws her eyes inexorably upwards to the full moon and she stands there in silent awe. Silence is..*very* nice...
Devon gazes at the moon, her forehead wrinkling a little. However, she shakes her head absently, and looks around the Courtyard. And at the people watching her. She nods to Tsuiko, and begins making her way over towards the Brown. "Light shine," she murmurs.
In the sky, for those who pay attention, the moon appears slightly smaller than before. As its hard to tell the size of the moon, only those studying it would notice.
Angharad sighs and rubs her head a bit more, before putting her fingers down. She just can't read right now. Closing the book, Angharad finally does take a better look around. As she does there is a ... pain in her face. A longing. The sense of sudden homesickness brought on by the earlier disturbing sighting. It was a halucination, it had to have been. Reaching down absently, Angharad brushes her hand along the soft grass, which brings out a light smile, if for just a moment.
Sionil watching the sky, embraces the source of no-where and sends up weaves of Air and Water, wrapping them into a probe for weather examination.
Tsuiko smiles a bit at her dear friend before she looks up at the moon and starts... peering a bit at it. She looks over at Devon.. "Is it just me, or is the moon shrinking?" She reaches down into her satchel and flips through one of her books, hmming.. "It could be that another one of the rocks has fallen but.." She waves her fingers in the air.. "It would of taken a rock..." She murmurs off..
Morcath simply sits quietly on his bench. He closes his eyes and draws his legs up under him and then draws his blade, laying it across his lap. This pose always earns him a few odd looks from passersby, but he doesn't even notice.
Devon shakes her head. "How often does the moon shrink," she murmurs. But here again, for those staring at the moon, its somewhat smaller. If the first shrinking was only the size of a fingernail, this is at least three fingernails in length and a little more noticeable. The round silver moon is no longer round.
Sionil releases the source, shaking her head
The glow and tingle of Saidar about the Brown Sister draws Rhynne's attention down to look at the woman..and the weaves she forms. An eyebrow arches a moment before turning her gaze to Devon. Strange night..two in a row, it would seem.
Angharad sighs, shaking her head. This is not doing her any good. She'll just end up brooding more than is neccissary. Angharad stands up, smoothing her skirts. Blast trainees! if she wants to talk to Morcath, she bloody well will. Wait a moment, did the brown sister say the moon was shrinking? And Sionil's embracing the source and weaving, or was, at least. Frowning, Angharad looks up at the moon, narrowing her eyes and looking up at the moon.
Gavin, unlike others does not look up at the moon.. Instead he picks a patch of grass and tears it out, bringing it to his nose.. He fingers the small blades a moment before casting them into the night.. Looking around he notices Morcath ang gives him a nod..
Morcath hears the words but does not let the emotion touch him. Those who know would recognise Morcath as being wrapped in the Void. Strange, though, that he would draw himself into that odd position - for a Gaidin - and close his eyes. But then, Morcath never has been the most normal Gaidin.
Alisa enters the Courtyard through an opening in the large wall surrounding the Practice Yard.
Alisa has arrived.
Tsuiko purses her lips.. "It looks like it is waning." She offers, as she hmmms and digs through her one book. "Oh hmm.. but it takes thirty days... and now it's alreayd waned two cycles in one one hundredth of that time."
Devon shakes her head slightly. "That is odd." By now, the light of the moon has nearly been dwarfed to half its size. It looks as though someone has divided the full moon in half, and spread black ink over one half. The rest of the moon seems muted, tame now. The night is completely still, the sounds of birds in the distance has quieted, the sound of insects is nil. It is almost as if the Pattern itself was stopping, listening to this moment. Craning to hear each sound as it unfurls.
Alisa enters into the courtyard stifling a yawn she slows briefly not sure what to make of all the people here before she resumes ramming speed.
Angharad frowns even more than before. Prusing her lips, Angharad looks around. There Morcath is, and without Trainees. Excellent! Quickly the Accepted's steps take her to the meditating Gaidin. She lowers her voice as she speaks to him. She mutters to Morcath, "... look... And the way my... I cannot help but... is a dark... me... I..." Angharad sighs, then reaches up to rub the bridge of her nose.
Angharad stands and rises from the Patch of Grass.
The moment for her has passed and Rhynne blinks of a sudden. Yes..nice moon..smaller now..even its light wouldn't show the various emotions that rule her features. Without a word, she skirts her way around the others and ascends the Tower steps, disappearing shortly from view.
Rhynne walks up the steps and goes through the main doors of the Tower.
Rhynne has left.
Tsuiko blinks a few times and flips through the one book and tilts her head.. "Ah.. it looks like it's something called an eclipse?" She asks Devon.
Morcath opens his eyes at Angharad's words and looks up at the moon. A dark frown creases the Gaidin's forehead at the sight. He replies quietly to Angharad, He mutters to Angharad, "... sure... that means.... innocent,... before,... events that... only... man's... Nothing to... with... don't... means,... sit with... we'll face..."
Relovic walks down the steps into the Courtyard, after pushing through the main doors of the Tower.
Relovic has arrived.
Angharad seems partially relieved at Morcath's words to her. She nods thankfully to the big gaidin and sits down next to him. Perhaps a bit closer than is proper, but it is not untoward, either. Angharad's eyes flick over towards the Brown, and she hmmms lightly, before turning back to Morcath and speaking quietly to him. She mutters to Morcath, "... Brown... know... is. Whatever... eclipse is. Oh,... I... something incredibly... last night,... can't... lost... in the ranks of... that I'll ever... of a... I'm..." Angharad shakes her head adn hangs it low with a sigh.
Alisa notices it is getting dark out and decides that this night she will get a full nights sleep so turns to head back into the tower.
Pausing at the bottom of the stairs from the tower, Relovic takes a moment to look around the courtyard. His golden eyes take in who is there and with who before he decides where he will wander.
Sionil walks over closer to the other two Sedai
The moon wanes even more, now appearing to be a fat crescent, the points facing the wrong direction. It is as though someone held a mirror up to the normal crescent moon, and reversed it. Where the rest of the light of the moon had shone, where the moon itself once was visible, now only appears to be darkness. As though the night sky itself had taken a bite out of the moon. Darkness creeps in even more, as silence pervades the area.
Morcath watches Tsuiko a moment before nodding to Angharad's words and replying, He mutters to Angharad, "Sedai... usually... have their... she's... Light sends she's... I need..."
Alisa walks up the steps and goes through the main doors of the Tower.
Alisa has left.
Devon catches some glimpse of what Morcath and Angharad are talking about, and her eyebrow raises. She regards them cooly for a moment before returning her attention to the moon.
Kradan enters the Courtyard through an opening in the large wall surrounding the Practice Yard.
Kradan has arrived.
Tsuiko nods and grins... "Truly!" She beams as she stands and reaches out to grab at Devon's hand.. "It truly is one!"
Sionil looks at the Brown sister and hmms "The one what?"
Angharad rubs her head with both hands now. As she sighs, it seems to shake her to shivers. She mutters to Morcath, "... together.... I... that I... is... me these nightmeres.... I... Kradan and Dylin... it's... Morcath. I... know... this is... bare." As Angharad speaks quietly to the Gadin she sits next to, her face draws tight, a worried expression growing on her face. "Sometimes I think I take too much onto myself."
Relovic turns his gaze toward Tsuiko, watching the Sedai with a curious gaze.
Gavin looks to Relovic, whois right next to him.. "Light shine.. Nice night, no?"
Devon turns to Nil. "An eclipse," she replies coolly, returning her attention to the sky.
Kradan wanders out of the practice yard. Thumbs tucked loosely in the corners of his pockets. A worried and strained look only hightens the blue and purple bruise along the right side of his face. His not his usual cheery self today as he coldly scans the yard. A wry grimace plays about his lips instead of the grin. He also has to look of working hard for several hours about him.
Only a crescent remains of the full moon that only a short time ago blazed in the sky. A fingernail remains, until even that too vanishes. No stars are visible in the sky, no constellations visible to give comfort to those who worry. Not tonight. The stillness continues. Is it not odd the sound of birds cannot be heard? Nor that of insects native to this part of the world? With the last bit of light from the sky gone, the darkness is even more evident.
Sionil oh's "We've had them before? Why is this special, do you think?"
Tsuiko looks up at the sky and purses her lips.. "I wonder how long it will last.." She boggles at Sionil.. "They happen like once a Age!"
Relovic blinks and turns towards Gavin, nodding politely after looking at the fellow. "good eve to you as well." Looking towards the heavens he adds, "The moon is strange tonight. I do not like it." He shakes his head before turning to look at Angharad, something said catching his attention.
Gavin shrugs.. "The pattern chooses something special for tonight somewhere, no?" he notices Kradan and hails him..
Devon chuckles at Tsuiko. "Truly? They are rare, then. All the more interesting."
Morcath nods slowly and looks at her for a moment. He mutters to Angharad, "... give your... for them?... with... when... Sometimes the... words... have... You remember our... of course.... were... fun,... that... spoken... without... renew... If you... to... friends, there... be... hard..." The Gaidin watches the Sedai now and relaxes, if one could tell the difference.
Sionil slowly nods at the brown "As you say."
Kradan glances to the voice hailing him and bows smoothly. Silent as he wanders off towards a bench. Trying his best to be alone. Gaze drifts to the sky briefly and they narrow slightly. The grimace deepens.
From the east, clouds are suddenly evident against the horizon. A sharp wind streaks into the courtyard, strong enough that it could almost unbalance a grown woman. From the sky, where the moon once shined her light down, color appears. For as the last fingernail of light vanished from the sky, the moon itself alights again. This time, as a deep and somber red. Angry like the fires of a coal...the color of blood. The wind and the clouds continue streaking in from the east, somehow the clouds are making excellent time. The moon fires angrily, the deep red hinted with brown. As the clouds rush in, those who are perceptive would see that each seems darker than the last. Almost as though they were shadows themselves. The peace that held the night in its grasp is gone now, broken. Chaos reigns.
Tsuiko embraces quickly and folds out a shield up and around her and Devon... "This is not right!" She dispurses the wind around those she can cover..
Angharad shivers and looks ... ill as the color drans from her face at Morcath's words. Quickly, the Accepted shakes her head. She mutters to Morcath, "... is... problem, Father. While I said... I... I hurt them... with something... did... need... them... and... out darkfriends,... purposefully... my... to use... in..." Angharad puts her hands to her eyes, wiping at tears that start to fall. "It was wrong... but I can't apologize for it. Not ... yet." Angharad frowns, shivering as the wind picks up. She looks around and ignores the moon for now, her eyes on the cloads that seem to be rushing towards them. "Morcath..." she says, motioning cautiously to the east.
Zannick enters the Courtyard from the Barracks.
Zannick has arrived.
Gavin looks up again, but does not seem /too/ affected as he stands, looking about a moment and then back to the moon, the wind whiping around and about him.. "It comes.." The red moon eerily casts its queer hue about the yard, basking everything in an unnatural color.. "Not right." he says.. He begins to move twards the other Gadin, slowly aginst the wind..
Sionil embraces as well and makes another shield as well
Morcath is about to reply to Angharad when he feels the wind at its force. He stands quickly and moves himself between the wind and Angharad as if to block her from its blast. He wraps his cloak around him so it does not flap about and frowns into the gale.
Zannick comes out of the barracks, and immediately, finds himself battling the wind, his hair thrust back from his face, and belled braid waving wildly. He leans into the wind hard, each step like moving a boulder as he makes his way towards Devon, shielding his eyes and squinting against the wind.
Relovic hrms as he watches Morcath and Angharad. After a moment he leaves his spot near the Tower steps and makes his way towards them, not quite fighting the wind but then he isn't letting it blow him around either. He simply doesn't make a big show of walking against the flow.
Gavin walks a bit infront of Relovic, and sees Zannick a bit infront of him, nearest to Morcath and Angharad.. He leans forward and pushes at the wind, loke oxen plowing a field..
Kradan makes to sit down. But he gets knocked off it as the wind blasts. Silent to the end, he stands up straight and stands straight in the wind. Daring it to throw him down again. Eye's narrowed to tiny slits, mouth twisted into a hard grimace. Lost in his own world. Cloak flaps madly behind him and hair whips wildly about his face.
Angharad blinks, and is still getting whipped around a bit, but not so much that she'll topple over. Angharad stands, and slinks behind Morcath with a worried expression, hiding even further from the wind. Angharad feels the Aes Sedai embrace the One Power, and she does as well, but she does not weave a shield, she holds it instead, as if ... waiting. Looking over her shoulder at the women, she sees the others approaching. Angharad doesn't -quite- frown.
Sionil moves over to the others without the protection, wrapping her shield about those she can
Devon watches the sky with trepidation, her eyes wild with the event. "What is this?" she cries to Tsuiko. While the Air shield the Brown weaves has cut the wind from around them, the noise as the wind rushes past them is almost deafening. "Zannick!" she screams, although none can hear in the roaring. A flow of Air whips from her hands, splitting into a wall of a sort in front of it. It's not enough to stop the wind, but it should make his trek easier.
The clouds swarm over the sky, swallowing it. Impossibily fast, clouds that cover from the horizon to the Tower in mere minutes. The roll of thunder comes, as if any in the Courtyard could hear it. The moon glows eerily, red light that leaves the Courtyard looking odd. Sounds of banging come from the doors into the Tower, but it seems they cannot be opened. The wind is too strong. This group is on their own.
Morcath looks around the yard to the other Sedai, specifically Sionil, and shouts, "What is going on here, Sedai??" His hands may be wrapping the cloak around him, but you'd be a fool if you didn't suspect one was resting on his hilt.
Gregory enters the Courtyard of the White Tower through the Osendrelle Gates, watched by the hawkeyes of the Tower Guard.
Gregory has arrived.
Gavin finally reaches Morcath and Angharad.. "Can you weave a barrier?" he shouts, barely heard over the wind.. He indicated the other Aes Sedi, their clothes not whipping about as much..
Tsuiko shakes her head back and forth.. "I know not sister!" She shakes her head.. "No.. no not like that! Make it pointed.." She shows Devon a weave in the shape of a triangle... causing the wind to spin around them.. "Zannick, over here!" She grabs onto Dev's hand firmly...
Sionil putting the shield about Angharad and Morcath shakes her head "It has to do with the moon."
Gregory stumbles in through the gate, a particular gust of wing throwing Gregory off from behind. Dark eyes are cold and emotionless. The Guard Captain doesn't wear is cloak, and even he is strugling to stand upright in this wind. Lips pull back in a snarl as he fights the wind, and he looks around for an Aes Sedai, or an explination.
Relovic finally shows signs of struggling against the wind as he tries to make his way to what can only be a wall of Power protecting the others in the courtyard. "Can you spare some for a troubled soul?" the man asks as he nears, trying to shout so his voice will be heard.
Zannick stumbles as the resistance level alters with Devon's wedge of air splitting the gale, and starts to jog, as much as possible in the direction of the group, though more specifically for Devon. His brown hair still flies wildly about him, and downwind, the bell attached to his braid makes some wild windlashed song before he grabs it to keep it from flailing him in the face. "Light of the Creator, Where did this come from?" He hollars as he gets close.
Gavin looks to the moon.. "Could it be...." he shakes his head.. No it couldn't be, could it? He frowns, and almost flies forward, the speed of the wind lessening as the barrier extends from Sionil..
Kradan is silent as stone. Forcing himself to stand in the wind, stock still. a sneer crawls across his face as he watches the heavens. Hands clentched into fists at his side. Not seeming to notice what else is going on. Away from the others as he could possible get before the wind hit.
Angharad looks around, glaring at everyone. Finally, Angharad gives in. Looking over at Tsuiko, the Accepted works to make a barrier like the Brown Sister's. It's not easy in these winds, but the point seems to help the Air slide past. Angharad frowns even more, this is a bit difficult for the Accepted to keep up. Narrowing her eyes, Angharad modifies the shield even more. The sides are no longer... rigid, the curve, like a drop of rain. Angharad is obviously straining against the force of the wind, beads of sweat starting to form on her face.
"The Dark One," Devon yells, eyes narrowed as she surveys from within the protection of the shield. Her elegant bun is now a wild mess, some of her hair nearly standing up. Most all in the courtyard are in various states of disarray.
The clouds swarm over the moon. Is that the end of the bloody light beaming down upon the Tower. Like a fire, the visage of the moon burns through even the darkest of clouds. Fire in shadow. The White Tower is not, now. It throbs a browned red, the shade of dried blood. And just as abruptly as the winds came, so too comes the next. Bolts of lightning streak down from the ground. Luckily none come anywhere near the groups, at least at first.
Gavin narrows his eyes.. "They come.." he repeats.. he mumbles more to himself..
Shouting is Tsuiko.. "EVERYONE INTO THE TOWER NOW!" She uses the power to Aid her voice.. "Hurry!" She moves out and begins to gather up the children... "Hurry!" She pauses as she moves to Gavin as he speaks that.. She's moved to his side that is... "Who!?" She looks to the man.
Morcath looks around the yard, now wrapped in a shield. He helps Angharad up, lending her an arm if she needs one. "Peave, Angharad, Sionil has a shield in place. I think you can drop yours and rely on her strength for now." To Sionil he says, "Any ideas about what is going on here?"
Gregory hisses at the mention of the Dark One from an Aes Sedai. Setting himself against the wind, Gregory seems torn between following the directions of the Aes Sedai, and running to his guards.
Relovic reaches the edge of the shield around Morcath and company, trying very hard to keep his place there and trying just as hard to be let in since it seems he can't be heard over the wind.
Sionil finally seeing Relovic opens the shield up enough for him to get inside... it's very crowded under the dome of air
Kradan takes a step towards the group and grunts against the wind as he pushes his way over. Slow and steady... Doubt they even know he's here.
Angharad frowns a bit, then lets her shield die. She doesn't release the Source; she grabs more, as much as she can hold. Licking her lips, she takes Morcath's arm up. "Lovely night," she mutters sarcastically. Then the Accepte looks around the group that has sorrounded she and the Master Gaidin, judging each person in turn. Relovic last of all.
Gavin frowns and shakes his head.. He also helps the others move bystanders to saftey..
Sionil frowns at the Accepted
Morcath moves nearer to Sionil to conserve space, tugging Angharad with him. "And here i was looking forward to a quiet evening later on," he mutters in reponse to Angharad. He seems to be waiting for someone to tell him what is going on.
Devon grabs Zannick's arm in one hand, Tsuiko's with the other. She tries as hard as she can to drag them both towards the doors. Lightning continues to strike upon the ground. Each shakes the ground as it hits, and its almost as though the air is alive the more they come down. It...tingles. Closer and closer, it edges towards the groups barely making due in the wind.
And then, abruptly, the blasts stop. No, they don't stop. In the sky, lighting still strikes, but as if the night was not strange enough, there's more. THe lightning coalesces in a single spot, about halfway up the span of the Tower. Bolt after bolt leaps down, each ragged in its path, but they all reach a single point, drawn to the single point. And then, from that spot, a monster bolt strikes horizontally at the Tower. Everyone knows lightning does not move with the horizon, it always comes down from the sky. But this lightning does. The sky flashes, so bright it is as if the sun itself were still shining. Smoke trails from the side of the building, but there seems to be no structural damage. The tremors from the last blast seem little different than the others. A blast that strong should have rocked the Tower on its foundation, but oddly, it hasn't.
Relovic takes an audible breath as he let inside and nods his thanks, giving a spoken one a moment later as he catches his breath. "My thanks, Aes Sedai. It is getting nasty out there." He nods to the others as well, meeting Angharad's gaze with a steady one of his own.
Gregory turns to the Guardhouse, trying to yell at the guards there, telling them to get to safety. The wind does not help that. Fighting the wind, ignoring the bolts of lighting that streak from the sky, Gregory works his way to the Tower Guard. There he seems to push everyone -out- of the flimsy guardhouse and into the Courtyard. "IN the Tower, -NOW-," he bellows. Then looking up, Gregory grabs the nearest guard to him, stopping the man in his tracks. Without another thought, Gregory rushes to the stables. For those who have been in the Tower long enough, know some of it's secrets.
Gavin stops and looks to Kradan..
Angharad yelps as Morcath tugs her along. She smirks at the Gaidin, though it holds no humor. "A quiet night? That's all you ever want." Then she gasps, stopping, staring at the ... lightening that hits the Tower. "Creator Bless us and Protect us..." whispers the Accepted.
Tsuiko frowns sharply and holds out her hand.. "Wait!" She runs over towards the front... "Gather in a small circle all! Hurry!"
Sionil blinks in surprize at the lightning and starts to weave a slight amount of fire throughout her shield to try to deflect anything that might strike down on the group
Zannick needs no dragging as the ragged fingers of lightning pummel the ground, and in fact were Devon not already running for cover, he'd probably be dragging her with him instead. His jaw drops as that last spectacular strike seems to take a personal and vengeful interest in the tower however.
Gavin reaches Kradan, having cleared the rest of the area.. Running to Kradan he grabs his shoulder to help the inductee.. "Lets go!" he yells, cloak in his other arm..
Relovic jerks around to stare slack-jawed at the lightning strike. Amazement, and a hint of fear too, show up on that usual placid face.
Kradan glances to the blast of lighting that struck the Tower and snarls to himself. Blinking once and grunts as he feels the hand and not seeing the person and hearing the voice. He nods, picking up his speed. Letting his cloak flail.
Morcath looks up, the lightning causing his eyes to glow their icy blue. Something unintelligible is muttered, but he keeps his wits about him. "Sedia, your Sisters are calling us to rally with them. If you wish to join them, do so now before anything else springs up."
The winds....stop. One moment it is barely possible to maintain balance, the next...its not. First it is one thing, then another. There is no gradual shift. As if the night itself were not strange enough. And the clouds? Through the clouds the red dies away, as do the clouds themselves. However the clouds take time to shift, but they slowly thin, and once again the night is clear. From the sky, the crescent of silvery gold light appears again, adn slowly begins to grow larger.
Gregory pushes the sliding door and enters the Stable.
Gregory has left.
Angharad is pulled alone sideways, her eyes staring at the Tower. Now why doesn't there appear to be damage. This disturbs Angharad. She turns to Morcath about to say something, then ... the winds stop. "What in the bloody LIGHT?!" exclaims the Accepted in a loud tone.
Sionil waits a moment after the world returns to normal before releasing any of the shield.
Devon stops abruptly. The silence is every bit as deafening as its counterpart of only a few moments before. She mutters something only those close enough would be able to hear, if they could hear at all over the sudden shift to silence. Maybe its better that way, no woman should know those words anyway. "Is...Is everyone alright?" she calls, eyes scanning throughout the Courtyard. Smoke still clears from the Tower, the only smoke or cloud visible in the sky.
Tsuiko blinks a few times as she looks at the sky.. "Lets not let this lull calm us.." She reaches out towards the others.. "Come over ehre... in the middle... hurry!" She looks to Devon... "Hurry up Sister please!" She looks over at Devon and moves to her side.. "Come on!" She says, closing her eyes and straining to produce a double shield over everyone in the yard..
Sionil lets the shield go and moves over to the other two, glancing up at the sky... "I think it's over... Let go of the shield before you hurt yourself, Tsuiko... The moon... Look, it's back to normal."
Morcath becomes slightly more agitated. "Light," he mutters. To Angharad, he says, "Calandra.. she's terrified. I have to go to her. Stay safe, Angharad." He sprints into the Tower and gone.
Eerie, that's what the sudden calm is. Zan's eyes skitter a hundred directions as if he expected to be set upon again, and he seems to hold onto Devon, in spite of the fact that Tsuiko is attempting to draw the blue sister away from him, for some unknown, to him at least, purpose.
Angharad nods to Morcath, looking very understanding. Then Angharad's gaze is hard as she arches an eyebrow at the Aes Sedai. If anyone knows what happened, it owuld be them. But she doubts they will.
Kradan wasn't expecting the sudden weather change again. Grunting and stumbles, trips, and skids. Scraping his chin, adding to the blue and purple bruise along side his face. Staying where he is, holding himself up with his hands. Silent once again.
Relovic shakes his head, a wild look in his eyes that might make some worry. With the calm in the midst of the storm he takes opportunity to return to the Tower at something just less than a run. He even leaves out goodbyes, not liking this event one bit.
Relovic walks up the steps and goes through the main doors of the Tower.
Relovic has left.
Gavin watches Kradan fall and goes to help him up.. "C'mon.." he urges Kradan twards the gathering...
Kradan grunts as he pulls away from the Gaidin and stands up. Walking away and watches the sky, arms folded.
Gavin growls at Kradan.. "I said move it trainee!" He grabs him by one arm, attepting to move him twards the group..
Angharad looks around the Tower courtyard and sighs. A few guards stren about, and Kradan on the ground as well. Angharad takes a step for the trainee then stops, turning away abruptly, walking to one the guards, offering assistance.
Devon shakes her head, staring at the sky. Slowly, the moon is indeed returning to its full appearance. And then her eyes widen as the smoke clears from the Tower.
With the returning moonlight, the courtyard is illuminated, and the Tower itself seems to glow white. All but a single part. A sqaure shape, it resists the light, appearing a murky black. Black from where the lightning struck, no doubt. Except it is too perfect, only a single stone the color of night, against a Tower of pure white marble.
Zannick finally focusses his attention on Devon, with a raised eyebrow, though wether it's because he overheard those words Devon might not be expected to know and use or not, is unclear. "Devon, do you think that was...?" He doesn't finish, perhaps trusting that she is thinking the same thing concerning their conversation the previous night. His eyes follow hers however upwards..
Tsuiko blinks a few times and finally releases the power as she slumps against Devon.. "What is that up there?"
Gregory walks down the steps into the Courtyard, after pushing through the main doors of the Tower.
Gregory has arrived.
Sionil shakes her head to the other two sisters, looking at the blemish
Gregory walks out of the Tower, frowning. He shakes his head a bit. Guess there wasn't anything for him to do up there. Gregory looks around and frowns. Laying down on the job, eh? Gregory makes his way to the nearest guard that was blown over with the storm and helps him up. "20 laps," he comments gruffly to the man, then he walks on to the next, repeating the process.
Devon shakes her head. "I don't know." she whispers quietly, more to herself than in response. And then, even softer, she mutters something. Her eyes are focused upon the Tower, and the spot where the lightning struck. The doors to the Entrance Hall open, and a gaggle of Aes Sedai begin to pour out.
Sionil hmms at it "Interesting."
Kradan's gaze settles on the Gaidin and he nods. Silent as he walks towards the group. Gaze slowly slides over them and up to the Tower, eye's narrow again as he spots the black stone. Letting it drop again, he watches the group silently. Still keeping his distance as he folds his arms and waits.
Angharad stops on her process to a guard. Hmmm, it seems the Captain is in a sour mood. Wait, didn't he go into the stables, what is he doing coming out the Tower doors. Angharad finally relenquishes the Source, and walks over to a corner to sit... and watch.
Tsuiko Frowns.. "Such a mar need be studied before being painted over." A frown as she shakes her head back and forth.. "My head.."
Sionil glances down to the other Sedai's rushing out and tries to keep order before the questions start flying
Gregory keeps walking on, motioning for the Guard to retake their places. He is not about to let them run off with their tales between their legs. They have a shift to finish!
Angharad looks pu at the Tower and her eyes widen a bit as she stares at the blighted stone. Shaking her head, Angharad puts a hand to her temple and begins to rub it. "Too much today... too much," she mutters to herself as she turns and heads for the Alindrelle gate. "I need... fresh air," she comments, as if she wasn't outside already, and attempts to leave.
Zannick finally lets go of Devon, as Sedai, Gaidin and students pour out of the tower, the barracks and other places and suddenly the courtyard is awash in speculating voices. He shields his eyes to peer up at that black speck. The tower is how many years old and white as the day it was made.. so that marring is unusual.
Gregory passes through the NorthHarbor Gate under the watchful eyes of the Tower Guards.
Gregory has left.
Devon's face is pale, and likely not the only one amidst the group at the Tower. Abruptly, that lack of color shows its true color, and Devon crumples towards the ground.
Tsuiko frowns and looks at Zannick.. "Get her, Infirmary now!" She says, reaching down to help him with her.. "Hurry!"
The sound of fabric wrinkling as the blue sister blacks out causes Zannick to turn around swiftly, even as Tsuiko is urging him to help. "Light! Devon?" He kneels to scoop her up, concern written plainly on his brow.
Sionil frowns and says to the other Sedai "You'll have to wait for now to talk to Devon..."... "No we don't know what it is." "Have you ever considered sending an earth probe yourself?" as answers to the multiple questions.
