Perilous Outing

Marein nods rapidly, grinning wider. "I have a goodly size of papers to bring to the Council." says Marein. "They're heavy."

Tristain stands and walks way back among the shelves from the Dimly lit corner.

Tristain nods, returning the book to its original place. "I would be honored to help you" he says, smiling.

Marein flashes another bright smile. "Let's go?" she says, attempting to tuck her hand inside your arm.

Tristain allows the Novice to hook her arm into his, moderating his steps to her smaller ones. He seem to be relaxed, starting a lively marching tune as they walk off.

Marein smiles brilliantly, walking around at a skip.

Learning Center: White Tower, Tar Valon Kitala smiles as the two enter

Marein skips along Tristain, one hand securely tucked in his arm. She looks about as happy as she can get.

Tristain comes skipping down the ramp, Marein almost hanging from his arm as he is singing a lively marching tune. He stops and offers a bow and a blinding smile.

Kitala curtsies and grins at the two's smiles

Marein continues on her way towards the gates, dragging Tristain with her.

Tristain grins and starts over on the tune, half-way dragged along with Marein.

Marein strolls towards the gates, grinning slightly. "That's the good thing about Council duty." she says, bouncing slightly. "You get to go Outside." She says the word almost reverently.

Tristain chuckles, trying to keep up with the bouncing. "Aye" He becomes serious for a moment. "I wont cause troubles for you for escorting you will I?"

"Of course not." says Marein, passing Kitala with a smile. "You will keep me safe from danger, no?" she says, giggling girlishly.

Alindrelle Square: Tar Valon, Tar Valon

Tristain grins and bows slightly. "I would give my life before letting anything harm you Novice Marein" he says gallantly.

Marein halts outside, looking around to get her bearings in the chaotic jumble of Tar Valon on a spring day. She flashes another smile at the comment from Tristain. "I'm sure you will. We need oto go down to Darein first, pick up the papers from the Scribe's." she says, turning down the road.

Tristain nods and follows.

Darein Lane: Tar Valon, Tar Valon

Darein Lane is not much different from Alindrelle Square, a good-size jumble of people thronging together. Marein turns down towards the scribe's entering a less-trafficated side road, still securely tucking her hand into your arm. "How is your training coming along?" she asks, looking left to right to find the scribe's office.

Tristain too looks about, noting the weird looks he is getting. Probably his clothes. "Oh good. Master Gond is to teach me how to dodge, and Johan Gaidin liked how I moved in my forms. Must be the dancing" The last is added with a grin.

Marein laughs, patting your arm. "We must keep it up then, make certain you do well in your training." Up ahead is the scribe's, which Marein sets her path to. Unbeknownst her, and most likely Tristain too, a person behind them has been following ever since the Tower gates, watching patiently...

Tristain grins and nods. "I wouldnt want to let you down Novice Marein, after all, I am here to serve and protect Aes Sedai" Tristain has no idea anyone is following, no one ever taught him the trick of that.

Marein chuckles, slipping inside the scribe's. It takes a few minutes, and Tristain is presented with a nice load of boxes, loaded to the brink with papers.

Tristain oofs and adjusts his grip about the boxes, so he can at least see over the top. "Is that all?" he asks, hoping it is.

"For this load." says Marein with a grin, shaking her head after a few moment of enjoying the pained expression that is bound to come. "This is all."

Tristain almost sighs with relief and nods. "Alright, good"

Marein flashes another grin to Tristain, skipping her way outside. "Now, off for the Council. We can shortcut up here, and come up on the back entrance." she says, turning down another sideroad after getting outside.

Tristain humphs and follows, "Dont move too fast, I wouldnt want to drop these" He rests his chin on a box and follows in a moderated pace.

Up ahead come three rather largish characters, eyes scanning. The first person, a large man with steely gray eyes fasten eyes first on Marein, then on a sheaf of paper in his hands. Nodding, he makes his way down towards them, the other two following.

Tristain frowns slightly over the boxes, he didnt imagine the men looking at Marein did he? Uncertain, he just moves up next to Marein, not saying anything.

Marein blinks slightly at the men. "Can I help you?", she asks, cocking her head. "I've seen you before somewhere..."

Tristain places himself sideways, for better view of the men. He looks them over as he moves even closer to Marein.

"Aye, it's her." says the man at front, pocketing the paper. The other two men walk past him towards Tristain. "Don't worry." he says, his hand coming back out from his pocket; this time with a heavy cudgel that he swings towards Marein's head, as the other two men move to grasp Tristain's arms.

Tristain spins, throwing the whole load of boxes and papers at one of the men. "Marein!" he calls out, trying to warn her. He instincivly crouches down after tossing the boxes, trying to avoid the men as he tries to reach Marein.

Marein yelps, totally startled, and manages to bring her hands partly of the way up before the cudgel strikes home. She moans, crumbling to her knees.

The men take no nonsense, lunging for arms as the third man goes up to Tristain, cudgel in hand and a grin on his face, Marein discarded as out of the game.

Tristain's eyes darkens in rage as he sees Marein go down. Foolishly he just throws himself against the man with the cudgel. The tinker hasnt even regained his full health yet after his earlier run in with a blade, still he swings out with his fist.

There is a slight groan from Marein as she unsteadily looks towards Tristain, brows frowning in concentration as she tries to clear her mind.

The cudgel connects with a small *thok*, Tristain grunts and falls to the ground, just barely enough wits to catch himself. He shakes his head slightly, eyes all groggy but still not quite out, though he cant do much good in this state.

The man with the cudgel grins as he grabs Tristain's head, turning his face towards him. "Ye couldn't leave it be, could you, eh?" he says, Tairen accent clear in his voice. "Now ye pay." he says, grinning wider."

Tristain's eyes slowly focuses on the mans face, etching his features into his mind. "Just leave her alone" he gets out harshly, his hand coming up weakly to fend off the others grip on his hair

The man brings the cudgel down again, connecting hard. Just at the same time as marein shouts from behind, a shrieked "No!". There is what sounds like an inrush of air, then a great flash of fire along with a boom, following you into the darkness, along with a scream. The last thing you feel is something warm splattering onto you.

Time passes....

Tristain groans into the ground as he slowly regains conciousness. He doesnt move his head, just opening his eyes and finding himself staring into the dirt. Another moan and he lifts his head, blinking to regain memory of what happend.

The scene around you is a mess. A corpse, or rather what is left of it, lies splattered around, a good deal of it on you. Of the other two men and Marein, there is no sign.

Tristain's eyes widens as he suddenly remembers what happend. He jumps to his feet, rewarded with a blinding pain through his head. The left side of his face is starting to take on a bluish color, where he hit the ground by the second blow. His hand comes to his head, just touching the two huge bumps lightly. Frantically he looks around, "MAREIN!" he calls out, scanning the street.

There is no reply. Marein is nowhere in sight. Neither is anyone else, at that, they seem to be ignoring this particular street.

Tristain takes another look at the remains of the corpse, then turns on his heel. Mayhaps Marein got away and ran back to the Tower, yeah, thats it.. she probably did. He starts to run, even though it must hurt like hell.

Owen comes into the courtyard from the north harbor gate.

Tristain runs through the gates, covered in blood and small pieces of flesh. His face is pale except from his left side which is taking on a blue/black color. "MAREIN!" he calls out, ignoring Sedai and Gaidin alike, eyes searching frantically.

Owen looks up as Tristain bursts into the cuortyard looking all the grim reaper. The big man moves over towards the other trainee. "Tristain? what is the matter? you need healing again...."

Tristain catches sight of Owen, blinking furiously. "Is Marein here?" he blurts out, grabbing for the big mans shirt. "Tell me she's here Owen" His voice is almost pleading. He doesnt seem to have any obvious wounds to himself, except from all the blood and the side of his face.

Owen reaches out and grips the man before him to try and shake him slightly to get him to calm down, "Tristain, calm down...She isn't in the courtyard, but she may be in the tower. what is the matter?"

At the suggestion from Owen, about Marein perhaps being in the Tower, Tristain nods vigorously. "Aye! She must be in the Tower" he says, attempting to shake Owen's arms off him to run in and check. "Marein!" he calls out again, an almost desperate tone to his voice.

Not letting go his grip Owen smiles ever so slightly at the trainee who seems to have gone completely out of his mind. "Get a grip Tristain. She will be found in time. but you running around like a fool will not help her nor you." The big man tries to be patient.

Tristain's head snaps around, eyes focusing on Owen. "I have to find her, let me go!" His lips press together, a clearly stubborn streak hitting in on the tinker now. He again, tries to free himself of Owen's hands.

Uchiki blinks as she wakes up from underneath the bushes at the sounds of a commotion. She scratches her head.

Big arms tighten as owens muscles strain to hold the tinker. But he does hold him. "Tristain. burn me if it weren't for Mouse....What is so bloody aweful that you have to make yourself a blundering goatfaced idiot to find her?" The mans dark eyes look right at the tinker searching for sanity.

Uchiki watches in confusion.

Tristain's hand comes up, showing the blood that stains them.. and the rest of him. "I promised... " he starts, eyes suddenly widening as he grabs for Owen's shirt again. "If they hurt her, I swear by the Light I will kill them!" he stats fiercly. "There were.. three.. " Tristain licks his lips and tries to free himself, slower now as he shakes his head. "They.. she fell, I tried to.. " His eyes close as he tries to put everything together.

Owen lets his teeth come together in a grimace as he looks at the man in his grip. He mutters to Tristain, "... Tristain.... is... one... Can you... me..." If there was any bad blood between these two you could hardly tellas Owen works to calm the tinker down.

(Tristain Senses: What has happened Tristain. If a Novice is wounded Then you will not be the only one out for blood. Can you tell me what happened?)

Adri walks down the steps into the Courtyard, after pushing through the main doors of the Tower. Tristain's eyes pop open, staring at Owen. "I was carrying boxes.. three men came and.. " He stops, frowning as he tries to remember details. "I promised her.. " he mumbles to himself, before continuing louder. "She was knocked down, they were after her specifically. I tried to reach her but.. " He looks down at his hands. "She has to be here.. " he says again, turning his head towards the Tower.

Owen's eye's narrow as he lets go of the tinker that was held firmly in his grip. "This was in the city? How long ago? Have you talked to a gaidin?" He spots Adri enter the courtyard and waves him over quickly.

Tristain turns back around, eyes ablaze now. "How could I tell anyone when you kept holding me!" he roars out, angrily wiping the blood off his hands on his already bloodied shirt. He spins around and heads for the tower. "Mareeeeeiinnn!!!" Mayhaps the tinke is in shock?

Adri makes his way over to Owen. "Is there a problem?"

Owen spits at the ground cursing himself for letting go of the crazed trainee. Without waiting for Adri to come back The big trainee takes off after tristain to catch him and tackle him to the ground if needed.

Adri scratches his head and takes that as a yes...

"Marein!" Tristain cant seem to stop hollering for the novice, reaching the stairs before Owen catches up to him.

Still abit far off as the smaller faster tristain reaches the stairs first, Owen hollers, "come back here Tristain! burn you." Owen spares a quick glance back to see ig Adri has caught on to the fact that tristain is not completely there in the head.

Adri is in no mood to run. He makes his way to the steps trying to ascertain what is going on.

Tristain is about to barge in the tower doors as he hears Owen's words. He turns, planting his stormy grey eyes on the other trainee. "I /promised/ nothing would harm her Owen" he growls, before turning towards the door again.

Adri begins making his way up the stairs behind Owen now...a bit more urgently when he notes the blood.

The pause of Tristain gives Owen the chance to mostly catch up to the other. Reaching the last step he throws himself at the tinker to try and tackle him before he can burst into the tower in his condition.

Tristain grunts as he is tackled, twisting his body to get lose from Owen. "LET GO!" he literally screams, fisting his hands.

Uchiki slips out to of her hiding plce to see whats happening

Kirra-Jaali enters the Courtyard of the White Tower through the Osendrelle Gates, watched by the hawkeyes of the Tower Guard.

Adri moves up beside the struggling pair. He gets down onto his knees next to them, his hands moving to aid Owen's...It just so happens that Adri specializes in the art of putting people...forcefully under control. He grabs hold of one of Trist's free limbs

Uchiki turns and sees Kirra.

Uchiki points to the struggle. "he's hurt adn mubling strnge stiff about finding a missing girl?

Owen tightens his arms around the other trainee's legs keeping hold of them while the Gaidin can take comtrol of the situation. He doesn't say a word about the guts and blood that drip from tristain onto his clothes right at the door to the tower.

Kirra-Jaali comes into the yard, humming to herself a song about hitting old friends with rocks.

Near the Tower, Tristain is sprawled on the ground, struggling against Owen and Adri. Covered in blood and other pieces of rather... nasty things, he is not a pretty sight.

Adri proceeds to have his way with Tristain now that he's got a secure hold on that arm. With practiced ease Adri proceeds to bend that arm back around Trist's struggling body. He then pushes up until he feels joints grinding. One of those...you gonna settle down now type holds...

Tristain struggles fiercly, a thin film covering his eyes in rage. "Let me go! She needs me! I PROMISED!" Suddenly he stops and stares at the two, "You didnt hurt her, did you?" he asks, kicking with his legs again to free himself. "BY THE LIGHT I WILL KILL YOU IF YOU HURT HER!" Oh this one has gone quite mad.

Kirra-Jaali blinks at Tris, "What the....."

Uchiki goes to Kirra's side. "He needs a healer.."

Adri pushes forward a little more to drive the resistance is futile point home to Trist and then looks to Owen. "What happened here?" His eyes go to the blood all over Trist

Kirra-Jaali hmms, looking down at the child, "I can see that. Who did that to him?"

Owen struggles against the legs. He mutters to Adri, "... mad... saying something about... Novice... is... bolted."

(Adri Senses: He has gone mad Gaidin, saying something about carrying boxes, three men attacking Novice marein, getting knocked out...that is all I could get out of him before he bolted.)

Uchiki says "Bad men.. from what he says..."

Tristain groans in pain, closing his eyes as he tries to swallow the pain. "I promised.. " he whispers. "I asked them not to hurt her.. " he rambles now.

Adri looks to all persons concerned as they speak all the while keeping up his hold on Trist. "Did anyone see these men or these boxes?"

Kirra-Jaali frowns, "Bad men? That got past the gaurds? What sort of place is this?" She mutters, staring at Tris, "When are you gonna learn to /run/ from men with weapons!"

Lynna walks down the steps into the Courtyard, after pushing through the main doors of the Tower.

Uchiki says "He says they were in town...from his ramblings.."

Tristain is firmly held down by Adri and Owen. He is covered in blood and bits and pieces of flesh, the left side of his face is just about black and blue. His eyes are closed as he pants for air after the struggle, mumbling incoherent phrases containing Marein's name several times.

Owen continues to hold onto Tristains legs as they lay sprawled ont he ground infront of the tower door. he shifts to look at the Gaidin without letting go. "No Sir he just came in screaming for Marein."

Lynna steps out of the Tower, just starting to look about when she sees the Warder and large trainee holding the other one down. Her eyebrows disappear beneath her bangs as she rushes down the stairs. "Peace! What in the Light ... ?"

Adri nods. "So he was beaten outside of the tower then?" He looks around...surely this could not have happened inside...unless of course the kid pissed Kelsyn off...that would explain him being beaten sensless

Tristain moves, turning his head. "Let me go" he says, somewhat somber now.

"I woud assume so GAidin." Owen does nothing of the sort to tristain his grip not wavering on his legs.

Adri eases the tension on the kid's arm but does not release it. "Not until I know what happened."

Kirra-Jaali hmms, now that things have seemed to calm down, starts walking over to Tris. "Tris....."

Uchiki stays shadowed behing Kirra.

Lynna quickly approaches the group, though keeps a few arms' lengths away, watching quietly and with concern.

"Kirra, get them off me" Tristain mumbles, trying to turn. "Owen, just see if she is in the Tower, /please/" he pleads.

Kirra-Jaali hmms, knelling down near Tris and peering at him carefully, to see how badly he's been hurt. "Who are you worried about Tris?"

Owen looks up as he holds tristain down, at least his lower half. He mutters to Lynna, "... see if... has... to..."

(Lynna senses: Can you see if Marien has come back to the tower...he seems to need to know that.)

Lynna nods once to Owen, silently, and with a halfhearted, hurried curtsey toward Adri, she turns to rush back into the Tower.

Lynna walks up the steps and goes through the main doors of the Tower.

"Marein, we were on our way to the Council with some papers" Seems like Kirra manages to get sense out of Tristain. "Three men came, she was hit in the head and I tried to reach her.. but the man clogged me over the head twice" He lifts his head, looking after Lynna. Holding his breath he waits, eyes dark.

(Lynna goes through Marein's room, novice dorms, knocks on some other novices doors. Any place where novices do chores from roof of Tower to ground floor.)

Kirra-Jaali frowns and nods, reaching out to run a hand through Tris' unfortunately matted hair. "Shh, now. They'll go make sure she's alright. You just have to be still, yes? You won't do Marein any good if you're so hurt you can't move. Did you know these men?"

Tristain grunts as Kirra's hand run over the two lumps on his head. "I can move, this is not my blood" he forces out between tightly pressed lips. "As the man went to hit me again, Marein did.. something.. I think" Tears suddenly stream down his face. "I promised to protect her Kirra.. it's happening all over again" he whispers hoarshly.

Kirra-Jaali shhhhs, "It is not, I'm sure Marein is fine. Now, will you go with me to the Infimary?"

Adri releases his hold on Trist's arm and gets to his feet

Owen looks to the Gaidin for instruction. he still holds Tristains legs.

Lynna walks down the steps into the Courtyard, after pushing through the main doors of the Tower.

Tristain shakes his head, angrily wiping at his tears. "No, I have to find Marein" he says stubbornly.

Lynna comes back out much more slowly than she went into the Tower, frowning silently. She descends the stairs, and silently curtsies to Adri.

Kirra-Jaali smirks, and pushes Tris back down then. "Tris, you're being foolish. There are plenty of men here who can attend to her, the weight isn't on just your shoulders."

Tristain gives Kirra an indigant look. "I /promised/" he hisses out, sitting up to look at Owen holding his feet. He looks up at Lynna, "Tell me she's in there" he says quietly.

Adri says "take him up to the infirmary"

Lynna glances silently to Adri, and doesn't reply to Tristain. Of course, her silence likely speaks volumes.

Owen nods and looks at the best way to keep hold of Tristain and get him to the infirmary short of clubbing him over the head yet again.

Kirra-Jaali looks like she's about ready to sit on Tris to keep him still. "You only get up if you go to the Infirmary, got it?"

Adri stands back and is prepared to...help Trist get there if necessary

Tristain's expression goes blank, eyes narrowing. "I'll go" he says coldly, waving off both Kirra and Owen. "I want a bath" he states.

Uchiki stays not far from Kirra.

Kirra-Jaali hmms, "That's good.....I think you're going to have to burn those clothes..." She smiles back at Uchiki, "Come on, I'll teach you how to make a poultice."

Owen hesitates but with so many around the other trainee he isn't going anywhere fast. He lets go and rises himself, realizing just how much bad stuff is on his body having come from Tristain.

Lynna frowns some more, and looks down to the ground. "I'm sorry, Tristain." She looks to Adri again, questioningly, before turning to follow Tristain in.

Uchiki nods.. "ok..." She sticks close to Kirra. The only adult she seems to trust.

Adri looks to Lynna and shakes his head, cane rising to indicate that she shouldn't say anything more. "Get him upstairs."

Tristain stands, eyes still narrowed and his expression more angry then anything else. "She's not in there is she" he says to Lynna as he passes her.

Lynna nods once to Adri. "Yes, Gaidin," she says, emotionlessly. She curtsies once more, and follows Tristain silently.

Infirmary: White Tower, Tar Valon

Lynna follows Tristain in silence until they get inside. "We need to get you cleaned up before doing anything else," she says softly.

Kirra-Jaali nods, "Get out of those cloths, Tris."

Uchiki sticks close to Kirra

Lynna quietly arches an eyebrow, ever so slightly, at Kirra, but says nothing, quickly turning her attention back to Tristain.

Tristain gives a short nod, by the time it has taken to reach the infirmary, seems like the Tinker finally has managed to pull on his expressionless mask. He starts taking off his shirt, removing his headband with an indifferent move.

Lynna moves toward one of the tubs, rolling up her sleeves and washing her hands, neither closely watching nor avoiding looking at Tristain.

Uchiki watches Kirra.

Kirra-Jaali doesn't seem to care, examining Tris for any injuries, "They only hit your head?"

The shirt hits the floor with a soggy *slop*. Tristain looks about, nodding at Kirra's question. "Aye.. Accepted Lynna, where can I wash?"

Uchiki looks for an empty basket to put the bloody cloths so it can be dispose of later if need be?

Lynna glances over as she shakes her hands dry. "I will set up a tub with some hot water." She looks at the couple Novices on duty, and goes about directing them, having a couple move a tub behind a 'privacy' screen, and a couple more to get some hot water. "Then we'll tend to your injuries. What happened?"

"No injuries, just my head" he says, disappearing behind the screen. After a few minutes he comes back out, wrapped in a towel. "Kirra, can you get some clothes for me?"

Kirra-Jaali nods sure, "Where would I find them?"

Lynna silently moves over toward Trist now that he's clean. "Do you mind if I check to make certain you're uninjured?" Her tone is almost businesslike - obviously, the situation has her a bit perturbed as well.

"In the barracks. One of the trainee's will probably show you" Tristain replies before looking at Lynna. "Its only a bump or two" he says quietly, but nods slightly indicating she can.

Lynna nods slowly. "It cannot hurt to be sure." With that, she gently lays her hand on Trist's forehead.

Lynna stands still for a few seconds, then relaxes her concentration, saying, "The injuries aren't severe at all. I can Heal them, or leave them, whichever you wish."

Kirra-Jaali knows Tris a bit too well, even if he /has/ changed. She sticks her head out the door and flags someone down to go get Tris' cloths.

"Leave them" Tristain says shortly, looking to the doors as he impatiently waits for his clothes. The servant returning with them wrinkles his nose at the colors. Tristain snatches the clothes from him and disappears to put them on. After a moment he reappears, fully dressed. "May I go now Accepted Lynna?" he asks politely, though he will leave anyway.

Lynna sighs softly. "That depends on what you're going to go do," she replies. "And I think I have a fair idea."

Kirra-Jaali sighs, now that Tris is at least clean and looks down at her dress. For a moment, she doesn't seem to notice much and then she just sort of stares.....

Tristain frowns. "Then dont ask" He starts for the door.

Lynna steps in Tristain's way. "Do you seriously think I'm going to let you go and try something alone?"

Uchiki looks up at Kirra.

Kirra-Jaali 's skirts have more red on then than they should....as well as a little grey....something that's turning black.....Her eyes go wide, suddenly realizing what exactly it is that's on her cloths.

Tristain looks down at Lynna, face expressionless. "I made a promise Accepted Lynna" He glances over at Kirra, lowering his voice slightly. "You better see to Kirra, I dont think she will take this new experience too well"

Uchiki says ina small voise. "Miss Kirra... are you ok?"

Kirra-Jaali blinks at Uchiki, not really hearing her, then goes to looking at her skirt. "I...I....."

Lynna sighs, very softly, eyes flicking to Kirra. "She's not in danger. You seem to think Marein is," she replies, softly so not to bring attention - as if Kirra doesn't have something else on her mind.

Tristain clenches his teeth, "I didnt make that man.. burst apart like that" he explains. "They were after her, they even had a drawing of her Lynna. I promised I'd look after her, please let me keep my promise" The last is said quietly his eyes pleading Lynna.

Lynna nods once to Tristain - likely not the reaction he expected. "I intend to. But you're not going to do it alone." She steps out of his way. "Now, are you going to tell me what's going on, or do I have to figure it out as I follow you?"

Uchiki takes Kirra's hand. Looking up at her.

Kirra-Jaali looks down at Uchiki. "I....I think I should burn this skirt...."

Tristain raises an eyebrow, then nods slightly. "I will explain on the way. But lets hurry, I dont know for how long I was unconsious" He gives Kirra a sad look, now that she finally sees what life outside of the leaf can be.

Uchiki nods.. "Soak in cold water....then sell it to the rag man.."

Lynna walks down the steps into the Courtyard, after pushing through the main doors of the Tower.

Owen has cleaned himself up and stands over near the gate to the city that Tristain came in from in such a huff.

Lynna hurries after Tristain, silently, her face all seriousness.

Tristain strides towards the gate, while explaining to Lynna about what happend. He is freshly bathed and looks much better, even though his left side of the face is still black. "Owen, can you bring a sword?" Tristain just immeadiatly assumes the other wont let him go alone either.

Owen looks to Tristain and shakes his head, "You and I both know that we are not allowed to carry weapons in or out of the tower until given approval by Gaidin Kelsyn." He smiles and looks to the gate, "But if you mean to find Marien, I have been known to work well with my hands."

Sionil walks down the steps into the Courtyard, after pushing through the main doors of the Tower.

Tristain frowns, then nods. "Then our hands it will be" he says. "We have to hurry" he urges, almost running out of the gates now.

Lynna frowns quietly, standing beside Tristain, her attention on the gates as she nods once. Not seeing Sionil well behind.

Owen shakes his head. "Bloody floolish man needs his head screwed on straight.

Sionil walks out of the tower

Owen stands at the gate and spots the Sedai come out of the tower. he gives her a quick bow and waves her over.

Sionil moves towards the Trainee "Yes?"

Lynna enters the Tower Courtyard through the Alindrelle Gates.

Owen looks at the Grey Sedai and mutters quickly, "I assume you heard of Tristain and his story about Marein's attackers? They just left the tower to go in search of the culprits. I am afraid that in his condition he will do something stupid." Odd that Owen who normally hold no care for the tinker seems to suddenly care.

Johan enters the Courtyard through an opening in the large wall surrounding the Practice Yard.

Sionil nods slightly "I see. Where did this occur?"

Owen shakes his head, "I dont know Sedai I didn't hear much before they sucked him off to the infirmary." He glances out into the street to see if he can still see Tristain and Lynna as they move quickly.

Johan comes out of the practice yard and quickly makes his way over to Sionil taking a place at her side.

Sionil nods and looks to Johan "We have to find a novice."

Johan looks curious but nods, "yes nil, we had best start quickly."

Sionil moves towards the Alindrelle, following the accepted and fool trainee.

Alindrelle Square

Johan enters the Alindrelle Square through the Alindrelle Gates of the White Tower.

Tristain finally finishes his explanation to Lynna. "So you see, I /have/ to go" he says firmly.

Sionil enters the Alindrelle Square through the Alindrelle Gates of the White Tower.

Lynna nods slowly, not really questioning. "If I didn't believe that Marein was in serious trouble, I would not be out here now. So. Where do we start?"

Sionil walks out of the gate with Johan

Tristain leads the way towards the ally where him and Marein were ambushed. "This way" he points.

Lynna nods again, looking more and more wary as the two near their current destination.

Johan spots the Trainee in question, He mutters to Sionil, "... what... is... we..."

Darein Lane: Tar Valon, Tar Valon

Lynna walks alongside Tristain, her face all seriousness. She gives a couple wary glances around - nervous? She doesn't look behind, though.

Tristain's face is quite determined, as his steps, striding towards the alley.

Johan continues to follow after the trainee to the site of the incident. He keeps close to Sionil as they discuss softly matters.

Lynna moves toward the alley just behind Tristain.

Back Alley, Tar Valon
This is a rather small back alley, branching off Darein Lane. A jumble of crates and garbage blocks most of the already narrow alley, making for a lot of hiding places. A bit into the alley, it looks more like a battleground. The whole place is splattered with blood and worse things, almost as if someone was butchered into very small pieces.

Description of the Note:
The note is partly illegible by the blood, but there is a sketch on it, closely resembling Marein. On the bottom of the page is written something. "This is your ...... paid when you return with ...... to Amadica, where you may..... her whereever you please.... By his hand, ..... Lord Te....."

Tristain's eyes hardens as he returns to the scene. "There has to be some clue around here" he mumbles, stepping over an arm or something that looks like it.

Lynna frowns even more, distastefully, as she follows Tristain in. She places her hand to her mouth and forces herself to swallow, saying absolutely nothing. She scans around - and quickly discovers that there is no looking away from the gore.

Johan's hands itch like there is no tomorrow. He moves deeper into the vileness. His features grow cold and distant as he surveys the scene looking up and around rather than at what remains of the body. Not the normal kind of thing to be found in Tar Valon. "How many have seen this?"

Description of the Corpse:
This is a corpse, but not exactly whole. Everything above the torso is gone, which would justify the remains splattered all over the place: a thoroughly gut-wrenching sight. From the looks of it, this was a good-sized man, clothed in decently expensive clothing. A piece of paper is sticking slightly out of his pocket, stained with blood.

Lynna jumps as she hears Johan behind, whirling around with an undignified 'eep'-like sound.

Channeling: Sionil embraces

Channeling: Lynna grasps hold of Saidar as she whirls.

Sionil frowns

Tristain slips on something gooey, almost falling upon the corpse. "Johan Gaidin!" he blurts out, scrambling to his feet as he wipes his hands off on his pants.

Sionil eyes the pair, saying nothing

The Gaidin has no room for his normal pleasentries with the trainee. It is enough that the man is here. He continues to look up and down the alley looking for other potential attackers, who at this point would be near stupid to still be here.

Lynna stares silently at Johan and Sionil, eyes wide with very-slowly passing fright. Her fast-paced breathing finally starts to slow, as she says, "Sionil Sedai... Johan Gaidin..." She manages an awkward curtsey.

Channeling: Marein-OOC says, "To Darein Lane: There is residue of the One Power here, which consents with bluntly woven Earth and Fire."

Johan mutters to Sionil, "... no..."

Channeling: Lynna releases the source.

Sionil nods to Johan and looks to the pair "Explain yourselves."

Tristain bows quickly. "I pulled Lyn.. Accepted Lynna with me, I was looking for Novice Marein" he plops out, making a motion towards the mess. "Me and Novice Marein was ambushed, and when I came to she was gone"

Lynna turns her gaze slowly to Tristain, then turns back to Sionil. "Perhaps Tristain would best explain, Aes Sedai." She's still a bit shaken after the scare - and there's no telling if the frightening events are over yet.

Lynna nods as Tristain explains, remaining silent.

Sionil eyes and nods "Enough to ask why you were out alone with a novice later, why did you come down here?

Johan turns at last now satisfied that there are no lurkers about, to inspect the body. He reaches out a finger to pick and poke at the goopy mess that is splattered all over the ground centered around the half there body.

Johan senses: Slosh slosh, slicker slip. Aha! A note! In his pocket.

"Novice Marein was bringing boxes of papers to the Council Sionil Sedai, I carried them for her" Tristain explains.

Sionil responds "The Council is at the north harbor, how does this alley lead there?

A soft Hrmm comes from the gaidin as his finger finds something. he pulls the bloody note from the body and tries to read over it while the others talk.

Lynna stays quiet as Tristain explains himself, giving a glance toward Johan as the Gaidin searches about.

Tristain dares a glance over at the Gaidin. "She said it was a shortcut Sionil Sedai"

Sionil frowns deeper "What is it Jo?" ignoring slightly the trainee

Johan tries to undirty the paper in his hand favoring instead to leave it as it is so as not to smear what is ledgeable. "This explains much. she was abducted. or at least they tried...." He hands it to Sionil.

Sionil nods slightly

Lynna frowns again as she looks toward the bloodied note.

Tristain's hands fists to his sides, he squints his eyes to look up the alley. "They must have her. Where are they taking her?" The worry in his face is clear.

Sionil eyes Tristain deeply after his comment, a look that says he should remain silent else he gain more trouble.

Johan continues to rumage around the body for any other signs...perhaps of who it might have been or where he might have come from. by land? water? perhaps the south harbor docks?

Tristain swallows and clenches his teeth. He glances at Lynna, then quickly averts his eyes to the ground, perhaps to hide the flash of anger he feels right now.

Lynna quietly licks her lips, then speaks up. "If I may, Aes Sedai?"

Sionil looks to Lynna "Yes? Time is wasting, the child is in danger."

Johan stands to his feet and moves over to Tristain. "What can you remember Lad? every detail will be important. You are our only witness to what happened."

Lynna blinks. "That's ... what I was going to say. Do we even know who 'they' are?"

Sionil looks to Tris, waiting for an answer

Tristain glances over at Sionil briefly, "There were three of them, I think they must have followed us but I'm not sure" he explains. "This one.. " he points to the corpse. "Looked on that paper and Marein, then he said she was the one they wanted. Then he knocked Marein over the head, I tried to reach her.. " His voice falters at the end, his jaw working silently as he is obviously struggling with holding his anger and shame in.

Sionil asks quickly "Do you know which way they went?"

Lynna looks about at the gore again, her stomach having hardened - looking at this is *nothing* compared to having an Aes Sedai and her Warder appear behind you. "I doubt they will be hard to follow from this ... mess."

Tristain shakes his head, looking down. "No, the last thing I remember is the man clubbing my head again.. flames.. or something.. and blood splattering on me" he whispers. "When I came to, they were gone"

Sionil mutters to Johan, "... they're... to... then... of... island... bridges."

Johan listens and frowns deeply. "At least marein put up a fight. Look around Lynna, tristain, see if we can find tracks of blood or something that might lead us to where they were headed." he looks to Sionil and nods.

"Please" Tristain speaks up, looking pleadingly at Johan. "If are to find her, let me come.. I promised her.. " He knows its not a bond, but a promise is a promise.

Johan nods, "Fair enough lad, now get searching you cannot help save her unless we know where they went."

Lynna nods once to Johan, and starts looking around. "Tristain? Which way did you leave the alley after you were attacked?"

Johan looks to sionil and moves closer to her droping hs voice. He mutters to Sionil, "... will head... try... a... in... out of... and fastest..."

Tristain points towards Darein Lane. "Back the way we came in.. past the scribes place" He moves around the alley, leanining down to catch anything suspecious.

Lynna nods slowly. "Then this alley must lead out elsewhere, if Marein thought it was a shortcut." With that, she carefully crosses the mess to the opposite side of the alley, looking to see if there are any obvious tracks.

Tristain senses: Now, what is this then? A gleam on the ground that is for once not blood catches your eye. A chip, whichon is depicted a small whistle. It looks like something some taverns use for their dice games...

Sionil snorts a little and waves her hand for the pair to lead on.

Tristain picks up something from the ground. "Johan Gaidin?" he calls out, turning a small chip between his fingers.

Johan turns his head from sionil to look at the trainee. "Yes? di dyou find something?" The man turns causing his cloak to billow out around at his ankles it's colorshifting making him blend in the the grosome mess. like the cloak doesn't make one queezy enough as it is.

Tristain shows off the chip, which depicts a small whistle. "I've seen some of the trainee's have these, they get them at the taverns from the games they play"

Lynna pauses in her searching as Tristain explains, looking over to listen.

Sionil responds "Which Tavern?" She doesn't seem patient now.

Tristain frowns and hands it to Johan. "I.. I dont know.. I dont play dice"

Johan looks at the coin in question the whisle standing out, but he cannot remember from his gleeman days which tavern it was. "I dont know Nil. but it will give us a start."

Lynna looks back down to the ground as Tristain continues. She blinks, and slowly crouches, lifting her dress to keep it out of the mess. "Aes Sedai, Gaidin. I think they went this way - there's a trail, and it certainly wasn't Tristain."

"I will run from Tavern to Tavern if need be.. " Tristain offers, heading up towards Lynna.

Sionil shakes her head slightly

Johan nods to Tristain and moves along after Lynna.

Lynna keeps crouched down, and follows the trail as long as she can - which is as long as it remains blatantly obvious, for the most part. Without turning her attention from the trail of blood, she says to Tristain, "It would do better if we know where they're going... The tavern might say where they came from."

The trail goes on for quite a while, leading through the back alleys down towards the SouthHarbor docks. Then, the blood seems to have dried off their soles, no more tracks are found. But now at least, you have made it down to the Docks, where many such taverns are to be found.

Tristain gives Lynna a slight nod. He looks at the many Taverns about the area, then turns to face Johan. "Where do we start?"

Sionil points to the signs. "Why don't you look for the sign with the same symbol as the token."

Lynna straightens up as the trail fades out, shuffling her feet on the ground to get some of the mess from her own slippers.

Johan moves with a urgancy as they come to the docks. Not with the sparaticness of Tristain but very determined. "If we split slightly two to the right side two to the left. that way we will cover the docks faster. Lynna come with me, Sionil why dont you go with Tristain."

Sionil slowly gives a nod "You know how to contact me."

Lynna nods once to Johan. "Yes, Gaidin." The reply comes almost automatically.

Tristain is already looking at signs, but respectfully waits for Sionil.

Johan's brow raises at Sionil and nods. he turns to head towards the right pausing only to have Lynna join him.

Lynna doesn't waste time as she follows with Johan, speaking softly to him. "What sign are we looking for, Gaidin? I did not see what Tristain had found."

Sionil moves along, quickly but enough speed to make Tristain wait for his impatience.

"It will be in the shape of a whistle. As it was a coin it is probably more of a gaming Tavern than an Inn." his eye's look from building to building as they walk down the docks. "Probably a less desireable place to be."

Tristain just fists his hands, looking to the signs. He keeps his mouth shut, awaiting Sionil's orders or instructions.

The search takes a goodly amount of time, there are many taverns in Tar Valon's docks area. But finally, you come up to what /must/ be the right place; The Silver Whistle inn.

Sionil looks along "Keep your eyes open."

Lynna nods once, keeping her eyes open. "Most likely," she replies.

Tristain points to a sign. "Here Sionil Sedai" The sign reads Silver Whistle Inn.

Sionil nods to the lad "Lets go in."

Tristain nods and heads in.

Lynna, looking at the wrong side of the street, won't notice until Johan gets 'word' from Sionil.

Sionil has arrived.

Tristain tries to elbow room for Sionil Sedai, squinting his eyes to see through the crowd and smoke.

Johan has arrived.

The common room of this small Tavern is well and properly filled up. Mostly, the clientelle is dockworkers, pleasuregirls and other more shady characters. A drape blocks access into a more private part of the tavern, a hulking brute of a man standing in front of it, arms crossed and glaring at anyone he thinks get too close.

Sionil moves in, not worried where she goes, she eyes the fellow at the drape

Tristain follows Sionil's gaze, he too noticing the big brute.

Johan enters the Tavern, having run the length of the docks at full pace. when he comes into the large room he hardly shows signs that he has come so far so fast.

Hushed whispers of Aes Sedai follow quickly behind Sionil's approach, part of the room's loudness dampening as the Aes Sedai makes her way. The brute returns the gaze evenly, drawing himself up to full height. He will not be dissed by no Sedai tonight.

Lynna slows as she rushes in right behind Johan, letting her skirts fall back to the ground.

Tristain only looks at Sionil once, then decides to stay behind her. He glances over his shoulder and steps out of the way, letting Johan too walk ahead as he falls back next to Lynna.

Sionil feigns a small smile as she reaches the brute, "Good evening my good man, seems quite a busy night to keep the back room from the good patrons of this tavern."

Lynna makes her best attempt at looking dignified, staying a few paces behind Sionil.

Tristain looks as if he is about to start hollering for Marein again, but holds his tongue.

"Th' be fer privvy' invitateon unly." grunts the brute. "Gamblers unly." He does not move an inch.

Johan moves deeper into the tavern between various gaming tables. his gaze even and controled despite the glares and stares that their party is recieving. he does move near Sionil though more to a different side flanking the big bouncer.

Sionil ahhhhs "Me and my friends are gamblers, you'd want to let us get a piece of the action. Give us a chance to make some coin."

"Ye be Aes Sedai!" grunts the brute, belching loudly. "Nay, this be nay th' place for ye."

Sionil asks "Not my place? Why can't Aes Sedai gamble?"

Tristain changes his position, hands falling to his sides and eyes narrowing. A pretty good Cat crosses the Courtyard.

Tristain senses: Through a crack in the heavy drapes, you catch sight of a familiar face, hair newly washed and clothes fresh...

"Ye seem not t' unnerstand. We no want the likes of ye here." says the brute, doing his best to loom, and making a good job of it.

Lynna frowns now, silently, sparing a glance about to see how much of the place's attention the small group has.

Itchy hand reaches down to rest on the blade that hangs at his waits. dark eyes watch the big bouncer man unpleased. "You will let us pass.../now/." Johan says firmly.

Sionil doesn't seem scared or concerned then shrugs

Tristain moves up behind Sionil, lowering his voice. He mutters to Sionil, "... him..."

Ye Sionil mutters to Tristain, "... out... they..."

The brute waves a hand towards the entrance door, two equally bulky bouncers making their way through the crowd. "Ye be hard of hearing?" he says, turned to Johan. "Secure yer blade befor' we do call th' guards t' yer. Aft'r we'd be done with ye, th' is." His face splits in a half-toothed grin.

The veins in johans neck flair but he backs up a step...his hand raising off the hilt of his blade that never left it's sheath.

Channeling: Lynna embraces Saidar again.

Tristain gives a nod, turning to Lynna. "Mistress Lynna, doesnt seem like we'r getting game and the air is heavy here. Shall we step outside?" He walks up to her.

Sionil shakes her head "No need for anything, not causing any trouble." She gives a pointed look to Tristan to follow her instructions.

Lynna turns to Tristain, confusion there and gone for the briefest moments as she nods. "I suppose we will have to find somewhere else to make some more coin, yes. And some fresh air would do nicely." Smoothing her skirts, she starts walking toward the door.

Out of the drapes come a man, partially wet hair smoothed backwards in a slick look. He is dressed decently well for frequenting such a place, and he casts little more than one glance through the room before catching sight of Tristain. His eyes grow wide, then he launches himself into motion back through the drapes. Moments later, there is the bang of a door flung back, along with a draft...

Lynna decides against composure, and runs for the front door after the back door slams shut, hiking her skirts.

"Bloody ashes!" Tristain exclaims and runs out to catch the man.

The time for talking is over. Johan makes towards the curtain and the big man that is in the way.

The brute makes his best to stop Johan, but he is late in his startlement of the sudden turn of action, his arms closing over empty air as Johan slips past.

Sionil moves thru the curtain past the moved man. Quick actions for a small woman ;)

The other two men, halfway to the group now turns startled and decides to go for the other two persons, lunging for them instead, intent to detain.

Sionil weaves a shield of air behind her, stopping anyone from entering or exiting the back room

Through the drapes, a small gaming room lies, patrons staring in startlement from the open back door and the onstorming Aes Sedai and warder. Most decide that this is a good time to stop their gaming and back up against the wall. Through the backdoor lies an alley, the footsteps of a running man fading in the distance, mingled by the sound of tripping and a screamed curse, then more steps.

Johan enters the back room and lets his eye's quickly take in the patrons that are gambling in the back. not all of them are related to this little escapade but some might be. His look is cold and hard perhaps spurred on his wards desire that fills his mind.

Lynna pauses to throw the front door open, and yelps as one of the men grabs her by the arm. Without even thinking, she drives her fist toward the man's gut - accompanied by a crude weave of Air that travels just ahead of her hand.

Sionil shakes her head to Jo, "Not in here, must stop that fleeing man."

Johan moves towards the back door to burst out after the escaping man. Just how far around had Tristain gotten? did he get out the front of the inn to cut him off?

The guards think better of it when the small girl seems to knock all semblance of air out of one, letting Tristain and Lynna pass. Outside, the docks lie silent for the most, only the occassional strip of light out of filled taverns, and patrons moving between them. Right next to the tavernhouse lies an alley, and another strip of light, where Sionil and Johan come rushing out, slightly ahead of them.

Sionil tries sending a 'lasso' of Air to stop the fleeing man from escaping

Tristain's eyes can only be described as murderous as he picks up his run. Determination coloring his face as he rushes past the Gaidin and Sedai.

The weave falls short; the dark alleyways and the man's distance making the weave hard to place. The man does trip again, falling out of view behind some crates with another curse. He is on his feet again moments later though, now with a limp. He makes a quick turn around a corner.

Lynna quickly takes account of the situation after having freed herself, and moves just behind Tristain. She's a little more cautious, however, taking a quick glance about to see if she notices anything else out of the ordinary - other people running toward are away, for instance.

Tar Valon's docks are used to this, it seems. Noone seems to give much care to running men with others after them, most moving on with not a glance spared, some with a very short one and then a hurried step.

Tristain just barely misses the corner wall with his shoulder, sprinting after the man.

Sionil continues moving down the docks, not running, but she is going fast, and still, no sweat

Lynna hurries now to at least catch up with Sionil, clenching her teeth in concentration - running while holding the True Source is something new to her.

Around the corner, the streets lie still. A stretching row of warehouses lie forward, all of them looking equal, and neither showing light nor any sign of activity.

Johan runs along though not at complete full speed. instead he looks at the lay of the land. Perhaps catching the man in a sprint is not the best way. What can be used to either speed up their chase or slow the fleeing man.

Tristain comes to a stop, eyes darting around for any signs of the man.

Lynna frowns quietly, staying alongside Sionil and breathing a bit heavily. She slowly looks about as well from the different vantage point.

Nothing can be seen. Somewhere off in the distance, there is a whinney of a horse, but the sound echoes uselessly around, seeming to come from everywhere.

Channeling: Marein-OOC says, "There is a slight flicker of someone trying to embrace, but is gone the next instant. It comes from somewhere down and to the right."

Johan continues running in the direction he last saw the man headed. lausing to look down the dark alleys and into buildings. "bloody...

Lynna closes her eyes, hoping that the enhancement to her senses from the Source help. She then opens her eyes quickly, and softly says to Sionil, "Did you feel that, Sionil Sedai?"

Tristain lets out a frustrated groan, striding towards one of the warehouses. "Marein!!"

Sionil blinks in recogntion pointing to the right "Yes, Lynna. That way."

Lynna nods once, then winces as Tristain shouts. She starts down the street, quickly at first but then slowing, paying attention toward her right, frowning thoughtfully.

Tristain stops as he notes the Accepted and Sedai moving in a different direction. He rushes after, looking to the right.. for.. something.

Johan snaps his head towards Tristain and then darts in his direction. He mutters to Tristain, "... No!" he calls as he tries to get infront of the trainee.

Channeling: Marein-OOC says, "There are no more flickers of Saidar. Even though you are in the right direction, there is no way to know exactly /where/ it came from."

Sionil moves slowly towards the warehouse it came from. Sensing for the ability itself from the girl, even if she isn't holding the source.

Lynna slows, now frowning in frustration - not expecting herself to sense Marein's ability unless she were up against one of the near walls, and even then unlikely. She quietly watches Sionil.

She is not close enough. With Marein's yet not fully developed ability, her presense isn't felt until she is quite close, and there is yet nothing...

Tristain stops, focusing on Johan for a moment in confusion.

Johan raises a hand to the trainee in warning and points to the two channelers who are clearly seeking the girl with different eye's they dont have. He mutters to Tristain, "... or..."

Owen follows closely behind Sinna as they come out from an alley. The trainee's eyes looking round for signs of the others that had left the tower long before he and Sinna.

To Sinna and Owen: Down through the Alleys, the sense of someone holding the Source grows stronger. It might not be Marein, but it certainly is someone. After a walk that leads steadily downards to the docks, you come upon a stretch of warehouses lining the road, all seemingly equal - and all of them showing no signs of life. The group of people assembled there, Sionil, Lynna, Johan and Tristain are somewhere towards the middle, seeming to search...

Sinna is coming out of the back alley, her steps determinded. At all the people she stops and seeing who they are she quickly drops a curtsy, always the good Accepted.

Sionil looks to Lynna "Sense that?" looking over she ahhs but sighs when she sees it's just Sinna she senses.

Lynna's attention is mostly on Sionil, though she's one of those who's holding the Source. She nods slowly, mentioning, "It's nearing....?" then noticing it's Sinna. "Ah."

Johan turns his head towards Sionil as she thinks she finds something. his hand still rests on the hilt of his blade that hangs at his middle though it has yet to be drawn.

Tristain glances briefly towards Owen and Sinna, then turns his attention back to Lynna and Sionil. He obediently follows Johan's instructions.. for now, he hides the fact that he is on nerve, almost ready to call out Marein's name again.

Lynna blinks. "Sionil Sedai. If Marein is channeling, then perhaps she could feel it if we did? I doubt there's any who would sense us in there."

Sionil shakes her head "She isn't. She tried to reach but failed. We are close but she can't sense us, not trained enough."

Channeling: Marein-OOC says, "Again, there is that slight flicker. There! The third warehouse down on the left."

Lynna mms softly. Then blinks. "There..." She doesn't point, but focuses her attention on one of the warehouses, not far down.

Sionil nods "Correct. Slowly now. We want to capture them, not drive them out."

Tristain spins towards where Lynna points, he doesnt pay heed to no slow cautions. He sets out on a dead run towards the warehouse. "Marein?" he calls out, ready to pound the doors down with is fists it seems.

Sinna finally reaches the rear end of the small group and her head coming up at the hint of channeling. Now that she is around the 'search party' she isn't as gunho about leaping into the face of danger as she was when leaving the Tower.

Lynna nods slowly, but then channels - at Tristain. Air to lift him off the ground and hopefully keep him from doing something stupid. :)

Johan waits semi patiently as the women continue to seek out the lost novice. he heads towards tristain waving Owen over. "now lets not be foolish, neither of you have fought with channlers before. you must be careful if it comes to that, use your head"

There is a string of curses from inside the warehouse as whoever is inside realize that they have been found. There is the whinney of a horse. "Get her on the wagon, ye bloody fool!" is the shout from inside.

Sionil looks towards Sinna and Owen after leading them near to the detected warehouse "Go around front, make a lot of noise and make it seem like there is a large group to break in. We will remain out here to capture them when they try to flee

Lynna lets Tristain go once she hears that, assuming she got a hold of him in the first place. "Wagon..."

Owen follows along with the group and nods to the Gaidin, thoug his statement isnt exactly correct. He has worked with an Aes Sedai..but that is another story. Noding to Sionil Owen trots off quickly towards the front to go make noise....

"NO!" Tristain roars out as he is lifted off the ground. "Marein!!!" He struggles against the air, and gets a kick start as Lynna releases him.

Sinna is right behind Owen at the Aes Sedai's words, only taking time to ask, "Is it safe to channel?" Though she has already seen Lynna do the same.

Sionil growls angrilly and weaves a sleep weave at Tristain

There is the clatter of hooves inside, the doors suddenly bursting open as two horses drag a carriage out into the street. Two men are seated on the driver's seat, wildly whipping the horses into motion.

Sionil moves towards the fleeing wagon, almost daring them to do something against her so she can use the power against them

Johan abit farther back moves to step in the way of the charging wagon and horses.

Sinna makes a hopping leap to the side since she was headed to the door that the wagon comes out of.

Owen turns around even as he is moving around the building to see the wagon burst out into the docks. a shocked look on his face.

The men on the wagon seem to have no intention of trying to run down them, turning hard to the right - the result being derailment. The wagon totters, then falls over to the side, spilling the two men up against the warehouses on the other side. The horses break free, fleeing into the night wild-eyedly.

Lynna lets out a breath of relief, a split-second long. She moves quickly over to where Tristain dozed off, crouching down beside him. Subtlety now out the door, she channels a fatigue-banishing weave.

Sionil continues her movements towards the overturned wagon, ignoring the men and leaving them for Jo to handle she goes to get Marein out

Had it but been so simple - Marein is not there. And the men? They are already on their feet, one fleeing, the other lunging towards Sionil, sword in hand.

Sinna is by Sionil in a moment after watching the whole wagon fall and horses run. "Sedai? Where is she?" The little Accepted on the other side of the wagon by the time someone goes after Nil.

Tristain blinks, looking majorly confused as to why he is on the ground. He jumps up on his feet, giving Lynna a thankful look.. for what he has no idea. "Where is she?" he asks, again starting at a dead run towards the warehouse.

Sionil is climbing partially up the wagon, not seeing the man coming after her... uh oh...

Sword is quickly stoped by Sword with a loud *Clang* that rings out as Johan is suddenly there at Sionils side to fend off the attacker. It is what he is trained to do. Blade shifts down in a wide arm that should pull the others blade way out of range to strike back again too quickly.

Lynna starts to open her mouth to explain when she sees that the men who were on the wagon seem none the worse for wear from that little tumble. "Aes Sedai!! Look out!!" The warning is, of course, too late to help - though thankfully because Johan was there.

Owen looks again around the warehouse. Is there another enterance? He leaves the action on the wagon and it's two ocupants to seek out the other sides of the building.

The other man is not trained, his sword flying out of his hand and a look of surprise passing over his face as Johan's sword sinks deeply into his belly. He clutches at Johan's shirt, incomprehension in his eyes as his life drains away.

"Marein?" Tristain hollers into the warehouse as he runs in, looking about frantically.

Sionil looks to Sinna "Not in here, Warehouse then. Stop that fool trainee." She hears the clang of sword and turns around "Jo, don't kill them just yet."

Lynna rushes after Tristain once she sees that Sionil's safe, following him toward the warehouse. "She must still be inside," she says to Tristain.

Sinna nods quickly to SIonil, turning to chase after Tristain into the Warehouse. The little woman can't say much in all the commotion.

Johan pulls his blade out of the man gut. hopefully he didn't hit any vital organs this time. the last made such a mess. He moves quickly on to follow after sionil ever at her side at this opint

Sionil urgs "Lynna, come back. Save this poor man, we need to question him." She moves to the warehouse, not a pleased look at Tristain and says to him "Quiet else you will be on the next boat off the island."

Warehouse
This is a rather small warehouse, mostly empty except from a few empty crates and a whole lot of dust. In the shadows, the scratching of rodents can be heard, adding to the place's rather creepy atmosphere. A single cot stands up against a far wall, well into the darkness.
(OOC Notice: This room is dark. Light will be needed, and not all of the room is visible with one lantern.)

Sinna peers about in the gloom, her steps going automatically slower.

Sionil softly to the group "Quietly now, if there are more, they do not need any more warning then given already." she looks at Tristain with that

Tristain claps his mouth shut after the rough rebuke from Sionil, he squints his eyes and starts searching in the dark.

The room is dark, and silent at that. Nothing moves except the rodents around the crates in the back.

Sionil again softly to Sinna "Glowballs, send them fifty feet ahead of us."

Johan looks about the warehouse, er what can be seen of it. he holds his blade at the ready stepping lightly.

Small balls of light come into being, channeled by Sinna. Though they arn't very bright, they do their job and light up a good ten foot circles fifty feet away from the small group.

Lynna steps into the warehouse slowly, moving much more carefully than usual, her step not exactly as steady as it should be.

Sionil looks back to Lynna and quietly "The man will live?"

The glowballs illuminate parts of the room. Empty, expect for those crates, even the cot, partly visible behind a largish wodden crate.

Lynna nods very slowly, staying by the door. "He will, Aes Sedai. Omar is guarding him to be certain."

Tristain rubs his eyes quickly, adjusting to the lighting. He moves towards the cot, perhaps Marein was here and left something behind.

Sinna goes more to the center of the warehouse, keeping herself in the dark so she can use her meager abilities at lighting more towards the edges of the place. She turns a small circle. "Does anyone see anything?"

Johan squints and shakes his head. "I dont see anything. Tristain, Be careful!" he calls through the darkness to the trainee who has surged on ahead towards the cot suddenly.

Since everyone else is talking and yelling back and forth, Tristain dares a half-loud whisper. "Marein?" He moves around the big box, to check the cot.

Sionil considers "Spirit probes for life."

The cot is, of course, quite empty where it stands. All that is there is a small bottle, toppeled onto its side, and a wooden cup on the floor next to it.

Lynna remains by the door, keeping still - or mostly so, still not entirely steady on her feet. She stays silent, trying to watch over the room in general.

Sinna is much better with a spirit probe than she ever thought of being with lighting. Her weave goes out strong around the area.

Tristain senses: There is a strong herbal smell by the cot.

The Spirit weaves seek out, the multitude of rodents easily detected. And most importantly, the largish one in the crate next to the cot.

Tristain wrinkles his nose, peering about the cot. "Something.. smells" He turns away from the cot, since the smell comes from there.

Sionil looks to Sinna "Anything?"

Sinna's eyes widen even if she can't be seen. Her voice drifts through the darkness. "The crate!" She stays where she is. "RIght beside you Tristain."

Johan resheaths his blade and stands beside Sionil. He mutters to Sionil, "... and..."

Sionil shakes her head and She mutters to Johan, "... know,... outside..."

Tristain blinks in the darkness and spins towards the crate. He frantically looks for an opening, scraping his fingers on the wood. "Marein?" And there he goes again, calling out her name.

Sionil looks to Sinna "Are there any others besides us and Marein?"

The rustle of hair is Sinna shaking her head. "No, and I don't know if thats her or not, but its a person." She now starts towards the crate, a loud squeek and a yelp evidence that she stepped on one of those rodents before she gets to the lighted area.

Lynna gathers in a soft breath, and begins channeling Spirit probes herself from where she is at the door, much *much* weaker than normal.

Sionil nods and looks to Johan "You might as well help that fool boy before he hurts himself."

Johan nods as he walks through the darkness over to the crate that Trsitain is clawing at like a starved kitten. Together they work to free a side fo the crate

All but the light nearest the crate dims considerably.

Tristain yanks at the boards, then reaches into the crate, almost crawling in himself. "Marein?" he whispers, not sure if whoever in the crate is even able to hear him.

Sionil looks to Sinna "Tie it off if it's too hard to hold.

Ayep, inside lies the thoroughly truessed up, gagged and blindfolded shape of the Tower's favourite Trouble. A slight murmur comes from behind the gag, not sounding exactly like a legible word.

Sinna does as told, the lights going up to their original brightness before she ties them all off. She goes to the side of the crate to look in.

Lynna stops channeling once the crate is opened. "Is it her?" she asks, hopefully, from the doorway.

Sionil goes to Lynna and she She mutters to Lynna, "Don't collapse on... just... need more..."

Tristain quickly removes the gag first, his face a perfect picture of relief. "Easy dear, I'll get you out" He reaches for the blindfold, then the ropes which keeps the novices hands tied up.

Lynna smiles very faintly to Sionil. "I will try, Aes Sedai."

Marein opens her eyes; well and thoroughly glazed. A foolish grin appears on her face as she blabbers something completely uncomphrensive.

Johan stands back and watches the trainee work at freeing the novices bonds.

Tristain frowns and pulls Marein out with gentle care, he wrinkles his nose and looks to the others. "I think they must have given her some herbs.. the same smell is on her breath as over by the cot"

Lynna still remains by the door, no longer too worried to use the frame for support.

Sinna's brows draw together and she looks over at Sionil. "Should I.. maybe do a healing.. probe Sedai? To make sure.. she isn't.. damaged?" That hints at Sinna thinking the girl may be brain damaged. And her little training at healing.. and the emergancy stuff she has done makes it where she can do the probe.

Marein looks at Tristain, blinking and still smiling foolishly. "Gu!"

Sionil nods to Sinna "Be careful."

Lynna frowns, standing straight again and slowly walking over.

Tristain manages a smile at Marein, sitting up with her almost in his lap. "What did they give you?" he asks quietly, tucking the girls hair behind her ears, away from her face.

Sinna moves around the crate, sidling up beside Tristain so she can put a hand on Marein's forhead that is now clear and do the probe the correct way. In her concentration she tunes everyone else out.

Marein giggles slightly, tugging at Tristain's collar. and nodding her head. Well, two largishly sized lumps on her head and whatever that bottle contained could explain most of it.

Sionil snorts "What do you feel Sinna? Can she be moved to the tower?"

Lynna frowns, broadly, finding this far from amusing. Anger that dark doesn't find it's way to this Accepted's expression often, if ever.

Tristain looks to Sinna, looking worried. "She'll be alright.. right?" Is it guilt that is weighing down the tinkers voice?

Sinna looks relieved at what she finds. SHe looks over at Sionil. "She has a slight concussion, mostlikely from the lumpson her head. But other than that, the herbs have fuddled."

Lynna nods very slowly, letting some of her fury bleed off. "Thank the Creator."

Sionil nods "Very well. The child can take her to the Tower then and to the Infirmary."

Lynna visibly slumps, closing her eyes tightly a moment, then shaking her head rapidly

Sionil looks to Lynna "And you get back too, no teaching tonight."

Tristain assumes he is the child Sionil Sedai is referring to, picking Marein up. He carries her firmly against his chest, making his way out of the warehouse.

Marein grunts happily at Tristain, smiling beautifically. "Blubber?"

Sinna stands up and out of Tristain's way, not knowing what to do with herself.

Lynna nods once. "Without question, Aes Sedai," she replies softly. She sighs, relieved, as Tristain starts to carry Marein out, and follows the two.

Sionil mutters to Johan, "... to... discussion with... as... following orders..."

(With this, the party makes their way back to the Tower, splitting up until Tristain is left with the task to deposit the Novice in the Tower's Infirmary.)

Infirmary: White Tower, Tar Valon

Tristain carefully slips Marein into a bed, stepping back as a Yellow Sedai comes to take care of her.

Marein grins foolishly at Tristain. "Gu." she says to the Yellow sister. About as far as she gets before the healing strikes home, her eyes rolling.

Tristain gives the Sedai a bow, then grabs a chair to sit by the bed. When he looks at Marein, his eyes display pure guilt.

Marein looks wildeyedly around, on the verge of leaping out of the bed, before subsiding. She looks to Tristain quizzically, eyes already trying to slide shut.

"Your safe now Marein.. go to sleep" Tristain quickly reassures the novice.

Marein's hand gets as far as halfway clutching your hand before her eyes drop shut, murmuring something about delivering papers and being late.

Tristain sits for a while, until he is sure the novice is sleeping He stands and heads out to take a bath and change clothes, before returning to sit by Marein's bed.
