Thanks to Syd for the rest of this log so it wasn't full of holes with mutters.

Relovic arrives through the guilded doors leading to the Entrance Hall.
In the back, out of sight, are Sydnia and her mother, along with some servants, putting the final touches on the most nervous bride of the century.
Relovic makes his grand entrance into the hall and quietly makes his way to a seat. His arm is still in a sling from the unsuccessful assassination attempt but he can and does move it from time to time.
Kell walks in, wearing a heavy red cloak, then moves toward the nearest servant and hands pulls the cloak off slowly, now that she's out of the chill air. Undernieght the cloak is... A dress? Hm. Maybe it's not Kell then. It certainly doesn't look like how she normally does. She's actually wearing a dress. She speaks to the servant for a second, then the servant nods and leads her up towards the front, where there's a seat reserved for her. She's not a Cairhienin noble, but she's sitting near most of them.
As Relovic makes his way to the seat reserved for him up near the front he takes a moment or two to glance around, mayhap looking for someone. He also gives a glance with the barest trace of wondering in it, at Kell.
A matronly woman stands at the head of the hall; she's garbed, simply, in a brown dress with a shawl about her shoulders. No sound escapes her lips as she waits for both bride and groom to right themselves, and the hall to settle.
Kell settles into her seat, fiddling with the skirt, as if trying to figure out how to sit in it comfortably. She seems about as nervous as the two people actually in the wedding.
Arwen simply watches; nothing more. He gets a few looks from more ornately dressed attendees, but he ignores them.
Adelina arrives through the guilded doors leading to the Entrance Hall.
A small group comes into view, most of the members of said party dispersing to their seats, including Chantal and her sons. Sydnia stands alone for a moment, and with a smile and a glance to her friend Trelaine, she turns her eyes to Lyren and slowly approaches him.
Relovic is sitting up near the front in his reserved seat. He is glancing around the room, taking in who's there. His gaze comes to rest on the doors a moment before Adelina enters. A small smile flashes across his lips as he sees the Queen.
Kargan arrives through the guilded doors leading to the Entrance Hall.
The woman in front, an elderly, matronly Reader of some sort speaks, voice soft, but carrying, "If I can have your attention." She speaks into the voluminous hall, waiting for silence.
Kargan enters the grand hall without much attention, keeping away from many of the knots of gathered people.
Kell is sitting near the front, and her back stiffens slightly as the Reader calls everyone to attention. She looks very odd to those who know her, with her hair actually... done and in a dress.
Lyren stands up at the front, very still as his attention remains riveted upon Sydnia. But his eyes tell all, and, well... it's a good thing he doesn't need to talk yet, because he doubts he'd be able to.
Trelaine takes her place as Sydnia's witness, she is bedecked in a green silk dress, awhite shawl, with green fringe is predominantly draped around her shoulders. Odd, isn't it, that an Aes Sedai be in such a position at this wedding.
Adelina sits up in the front, watching her brother silently with a small smile. She appears perfectly calm, the smile helping add to the appearance of being at ease and enjoying the ceremony. Even her eyes don't show the amount of nervousness she happens to feel... though, for an instant, it slips a small amount as she takes note of the Aes Sedai in place near the front.
Kargan's eyes narrow slightly as he sees both Aes Sedai and warder. He removes his conical helm, dragging off the chainmail coif from his head also.
Kell twitches in her seat a little, quite nervous. Her hands start to twist a small piece of paper in her hands, perhaps her inviatation, perhaps something else. As soon as she notices her own fidgiting, she stops it. Her eyes seem to switch from the Aes Sedai, to Lyren.
Lyren, despite his bearing, can't help but sneak a glance at his sister.. and all he has to say is said in that bright, undiminished look. Then his eyes go back to his bride, waiting.
The Reader, known as Mistress Aie, raises her hands, looking over the crowd. A slight frown comes over her face, noting both Aes Sedai and WHitecloak in the room. But she hopes by the Light both mind their manners. THis -IS- a wedding. Something to be celebrated. Arms are lowered and the older woman looks between Sydnia, the bride, and Lyren, the groom. "Both of you, who stand before me, Lyren of House Tiigril, and Sydnia of House Rhinorth, come by your choosing?"
Relovic eases his arm in his sling and watches on in a calm state. The main reason he is here after all is he is a noble and was invited.
Sydnia is as pale as a ghost, so nervous is she, but she is smiling brightly, overcome by the rush of emotion. As she is asked the question, she takes a deep breath, letting it out slowly, before audibly responding, "I do." She is looking to Lyren, though, and not the Reader.
Trelaine turns, giving Sydnia a reassuring smile, not that the bride would notice this.
Kell, to anyone sitting close enough, seems to be holding her breath, and if her skin tone weren't so dark, she'd likely be pale too. One hand grips around the piece of paper in her lap, while the other clutches at her skirt. They are perfect for clutching, something she'd never known before.
Lyren nods his head in turn, eyes never leaving his lovely bride. "I do." he replies slowly.. a bit quietly, too, so only those up near the front would likely hear it.
Mistress Aie nods, a slight smile crossing her aged features. "Then join your hands together, as I preform the ceremony."
Adelina inclines her head with a smile towards her brother. As if incourageing him. She takes a mental note of Relovic nearby and spares time to glance at him before returning her eyes to the two getting married.
Sydnia takes the step required to reach Lyren and offers her small hand to her handsome groom, smiling at him so brightly that her face must hurt. Her brilliant green eyes sparkle, and she narrowly resists the temptation to clutch her own lovely skirts.
Mistress Aie's instructions don't register for a moment with Lyren.. thus it's a second or two before he two takes a step nearer to Sydnia, taking her hands in his own. Only the strictest of self-will keep him from blushing or sweating under the collar.
Kargan blinks his eyes clear as he stands silently among the columns. He smiles in approval for some reason as he sees Lyren and Sydnia join hands.
Kell moves her own green eyes now to Sydnia, still seeming to hold her breath. She must need to breath soon. She watches the younger girl, the noble, the bride for a long time, face looking a mix between nervousness, and sadness. Then, slowly, she looks back at the groom. She hasn't noticed the certain whitecloak, yet.
Mistress Aie arches a brow at Lyren for a not, then she nods, so, he is not frozen by terror after all. A glance around the room and she turns her attention back to the two before her. In a loud voice, for all to hear, she states, "These two, having come before me this day, of their own choosing are to be wed." Her voice softens slightly as she speaks mainly to the two before her, "Lyren, of House Tiigril, do you take this woman, Sydnia of House Rhinorth to be your wife; to watch over, and protect her, to love her and to soothe her, to cherish and adore her, to share your life with, until the Creator welcomes you to his arms?"
Kell clenches her fists, the gloves likely being the only thing keeping her nails from digging into her palms. Her jaw even tightens until her cheekbones are nearly pale. The paper in her right fist is going to be unreadable by the time this wedding is over.
A dark red-gold curl falls into Sydnia's eyes, as it is wont to do, but she ignores it for the moment, waiting in nervous anticipation for the young Lord's response, holding his hands tightly.
Holding his hands still as they grip Sydnia's (oh how they want to tremble... But Lyren won't let them), the Prince bows his head down a fraction of an inch.. "I do..."
Relovic watches the happy couple being wed and allows a small smile come across his lips. Maybe this young Lord, Relovic, is even thinking of one he may wish to wed.
Mistress Aie nods again, then turns to Sydnia. "And you, Sydnia of House Rhinorth, take this man, Lyren of House Tiigril, to love and to cherish, to care for and nurture, to love and to hold, to be a helpmeet and advisor, until the Creator welcomes you into his arms?"
Adelina smiles briefly as the vows are exchanged and chances a glance over her shoulder, toward the golden-eyed lord. Anyone big in the game would likely see lights flashing.
Sydnia goes from nervous white to nervous pink and spares a momentary glance to the Reader before murmuring, "I do," loud enough for at least the front row to hear.
Relovic meets the gaze of the queen and raises one eybrow ever so slightly as a smile plays on his lips. His eyes seem to flash as some light glimmer off them.
Relovic's golden eyes glance over a Kell for the briefest of seconds and for that same barest of moments his brow furrows.
Kell closes her eyes for a minute and lets out the breath she was holding. Amazing she wasn't blue in the face. As she lets out the breath some of the tension seems to leave with it. Her jaw smooths, her hands go flat on the dress, releasing the now crumpled beyond fixing piece of paper. She even forces a smile on her lips before she opens her eyes again.
After a few moments of deliberate tension, Mistress Aie turns to adress the crowd. "These two have spoken their vows. If there is any here, with reason enough to stop this marriage, let them step forth now." By the way Mistress Aie places her hands on her hips, it sounds more a challenge, and very unwise challenge, to accept.
Adelina looks back up front after exchanging the look with Relovic, turning back to continue to filter her little brother a encouraging smile.
Kargan looks up interestedly as the reader speaks, glancing curiously about the knots of people for any sign of trouble.
Relovic looks up at the wedding couple but keeps the corner of his eye on Kell as he waits to see if anyone answers the.. challenge.
The younger of Sydnia's brother turns to her older one to whisper something impossibly softly. The older stiffens even more if possible, and the younger looks at his sister again with a broad grin.
Lyren parts his eyes from Sydnia's for perhaps the first time this evening, though not to look to see if there are any would be challengers.. he's confident that no one will voice against this union. No, he looks away, for the briefest of seconds, as if something in the crowd caught his eye.. but it only holds his attention for a moment before he looks, smiling, at Sydnia again.
Kell actually shifts in her seat. Oh, she wants to open her mouth. She takes a deep breath and looks at Lyren... and remains silent. Though she wants to say something, she really does, she does not. Though in Cairhien sometimes just a look can be as powerful as words. And anyone looking at her that knows her, or knows people, can see that she wants to speak.
Sydnia looks up at Lyren, smiling broadly, waiting for that reassurance in his eyes that everything will be fine. Her hands hold his tightly, her gaze almost worshipful: the bride in love with her groom.
Arwen stands by Trelaine; he doesn't speak, his plain clothes a nettle in the roses of the people gathered in the hall.
After another long pause nods to herself, a smile coming over her face and her hands leave her hips to rest on Lyren and Sydnia's. There, she takes a red ribbon, (odd how customs seem to have little symblances from area to area) and twines it around the couple's hands. Then, her arms are raise and in a loud booming voice she announce, "Then as Reader and Officiator, I pronouce this Union complete!"
Trelaine smiles softly from where she stands, a glance to Arwen, then her attention is turn to the now married couple. Hmmm, she muses to herself, with Sydnia keep her House name, or accept Lyren's?
Adelina stands up slowly, gracefully, regally from her chair and claps, for her brother, for the union, and of course, for her newly forged connections with House Rhinorth.
Relovic rises from his chair as well and claps, somewhat. What with a still injured arm it is more of a one armed clap that doesn't make much noise, but the meaning gets through anyway.
Sydnia stares up at Lyren incredulously, not really believing that she is now his wife. His wife. Almost scary that. But she continues to hold his hands tightly, smiling up at him.
Kargan also applauds with less gusto, his mailed hands muted by the jingling of the steel links.
So that's it, eh? Or maybe not.. Lyren, though he may be woefully unprepared for this, he doesn't let it show. Hand bound to Sydnia's, the crowd's applause is lost on him.
Kell doesn't applaud, but she does stand up. She offers apologies to the person beside her, saying she is not feeling well, and starts to move as if to leave. Or maybe not leave, just leave the room for a little while. But.. she doesn't quite make it that far. She stops midstep, catching the clothing a whitecloak... a second later she sees who it is. Her eyes widen considerably and she quickly turns around, so she is not facing him, then stands in the group of applauding nobles seemingly frozen, as if she doesn't know what to do.
Arwen claps as well, gaze seemingly flitting towards Kargan and with a wry look, back to the assembled gathering, his expression amused.
Relovic pauses to shoot another very brief glance at Kell and then his eyes wander across the room casually before returning to the newlyweds.
Trelaine doens't clap, it is not her way. She simply smiles and waits for the first opprotunity to hug the bride, and in turn, the groom.
Lyren leans forward a bit, to speak to Sydnia over the noise of the applause. He mutters to Sydnia, "... ceremony,..."
You sense Lyren leans forward a bit, to speak to Sydnia over the noise of the applause. "Shall we complete this ceremony, my dear?"
Arwen sidles through the crowd behind Trelaine; his gaze is on the milling people, a frown on his lips as he slips along behind her. He doesn't like crowds.
Sydnia looks up at Lyren and nods silently to him, her smile undiminished in brightness or adoration.
Kargan's full attention is on the red head looking lost amid the crowd. He stares at Kell with an even gaze, helm and coif tucked under his arm. Noticably, those nearby keep well away from the young Child.
Lyren's smile broadens, then he leans just a leeeeetle bit further, to seal the ceremony with a kiss.. not just any kiss, but an obviously loving one.
Trelaine clears her throat and looks over to Arwen. She's tapping her foot. Ah! Light she hopes she and her own Gaidin aren't that bad. But then, Sydnia and Lyren are just married. Turning back to the couple, Trelaine frowns. Aren't they done -YET?-
Sydnia tilts her head just a nudge upwards, kissing her husband with obvious joy and love.
Adelina smiles lightly upon seeing her brother kiss his new wife. She seems to act like she thinks it's the first time they've kissed. He's her little brother after all. She can't picture him doing anything with anyone.
Kell glances toward the bride and groom, then quickly away. She does the only thing she can think of. She starts to move the other way in the crowd, trying to move around clapping nobles. The groups of people, and the oddness of her dress make it hard for her. She murmurs soft apologies to all she runs into.
No, they're not done yet.. not just yet, anyways. Until at last Lyren pulls away, just a tad.. and sighs. Groom and bride, they've duties to attend to, he supposes.
Relovic spares Kell a glance as she passes near on her way out. With a small shrug he resumes what passes for a clap from him and watches to see just how long this kiss can go on.
Trelaine glances at Arwen, rolling her eyes, but hiding it fromthe rest of the crowd. Then she turns, with smilng face back to the HappyCouple
As their fist kiss as husband and wife comes finally to a close, Sydnia looks to her new husband a long moment before looking out onto the assembly. She turns to Trelaine with a giggle, turning to hug her friend warmly.
"Does that mean I get to hug the groom?" Lips twitch as Arwen teases them both, standing their beside Trelaine, giving Lyren an amused look.
Adelina smiles and takes that as her cue to step forward, "No, I believe that's my job."
Lyren holds Sydnia's look for as long as she holds his, then as she turns away he regards everyone else. "Well.. I hope you are not put out, Gaidin, if I would rather hug my sister than you..." he says, wrapping the queen in a fierce hug.
Trelaine returns the hug with a smile, not after giving Arwen a smirk, of course.
Kell sighs and finally gets as far as she's going to get, because there's people blocking the way who wouldn't move unless she were a noble. So she stops and turns to face the husband and wife. The happy couple. Somehow she is able to smile.
Kargan watches as Aes Sedai and warder make themselves known. He gestures silently with a hand, a common sign to avert the Dark One's curse. Grimacing slightly, he turns away to make his way across the
room towards a certain woman fleeing the scene.
Arwen snickers, and bows at the waist, "Oh, not at all, I'll just hug your bride." Lips twitch, and he slips over by Sydnia with a chuckle.
Adelina hugs her brother back, but not to hard. He's so tall compared to her and her hair would get ruined. "Congratulations, little brother." She smiles towards Sydnia, "He's a handfull. I hope you're prepared to handle him. Don't be surprised if he puts frogs in your handbag." She elbows her brother, as if remembering a certain incident.
Sydnia giggles a bit as she releases Trelaine to hug Arwen, grinning at him before moving to hug her middle brother. Much hugging and congradulations seems to be going on, and Sydnia can do naught but smile.
Kell glances over and notes the Whitecloak. Of course, the crowds move for him. She sighs deeply. No escape for her. She might as well stay put.
Relovic grins and makes his way towards the new happily married couple to add his congradulations to everyone elses.
Lyren grunts softly, hmphing as he rubs his side. "I only use frigs when I have a point to make" he says supriorily.
Adelina hrmpts and elbows her brother again. Hard.
Sydnia giggles slightly, looking at Lyren happily, flanked by her own brothers. "Oh, I'm sure it was a very good point, Lyren," she says fondly.
Kargan stops before Kell, an unreadable expression on his face. He shifts the helm under his arm as he looks Kell up and down, particularly the dress and the hairstyle.
Kell's jaw tightens as she returns the look. She says nothing, but those curls bob a little as she inclines her head. Her eyes go dark, hiding the real emotions she's feeling under anger. Well, hiding -some- of the emotions she's feeling.
Trelaine grins at the couple, and the Queen of a sister. Then she gives Adelina a nod. "In the excitement, Your Majesty, I believe it's been forgotten to introduce us." A smile, curtious smile is given, before Trelaine continues. "I am Trelaine Demaran, Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah." A hand moves towards Arwen as she continues, "And this is Arwen Alezian, my Gaidin, and companion." Now why should that be seperated in speech?
Relovic reaches Lyren and Sydnia and all the rest. With a smile and a quick glance at Adelina he then looks at the married, "I wish you the best for you two in your marriage. You seem truly happy and I envy you that."
Lyren bows his head.. his moment of glory is past, now.. the rest of the festivities belong to his wife.. and sister. "I am sure the best has yet to come, My lord Voraneth."
Sydnia hooks her arm into Lyren's, not willing to be separated from him for long. "Thank you so much, Lord Voraneth," she echoes happily.
Without a word, Kargan grasps Kell by her left wrist. Looking about, he walks at once away from the nearest knot of people out of earshot.
Kargan walks to stand among the columns.
Kell closes her eyes and doesn't fight being lead towards the columns... not that it would do much good if she did.
Kell walks to stand among the columns.
Indeed not; noticing the grasp and leading, Arwen looks interested, glancing from them, back to the married couple. Inclining his head at Adelina, he inclines his head, "A pleasure, your majesty." Then, turning to Sydnia, he proffers her a box, "This is for you, from myself and Trelaine. May you ... use it well."
Adelina smiles and inclines her head, "Yes, my brother told me you were here. I meant to send you a letter of welcoming, but with the wedding and all I figured since you would be here it would be best to offer you hospiatilty in person. There are plenty of rooms in the North Tower if you would like to stay in the palace." She glances at her brother, as if she say she would rather not have heard that. Her brother and ... an after marriage adventure? Ewwww. She really hopes he means the dinner.
Relovic smiles and nods to them both and answers Lyren first then Sydnia, "May it always get better for you." "You are most welcome."
Kargan glances about before speaking to Kell in low tones, releasing her wrist. Among the columns, Kargan says "I was told you might be here, wife. I should offer some greeting after several weeks on campaign, yes?"
Sydnia takes the box from Arwen with a smile, looking from him to Trelaine. "Thank you so much," she says with a happy smile. She lets go of Lyren long enough to open the lid of the box, rustle the tissue paper, turn beat red, and swiftly close it again.
Kell places her hands behind her back, jaw tight, before replying softly, through teeth. Among the columns, Kell says "I suppose so, Whitecloak." Back to calling him that, huh? "I am glad the campaign went well for you."
Kargan's eyes narrow slightly as he stares at Kell. A small twitch appears on his cheek. Among the columns, Kargan says "So I see I was sorely missed. And now I find you consorting with witches, warders... and 'Goldie', yes?"
Lyren doesn't see what's in the box.. he wasn't really looking either, this being her gift, not his. Though he does note the reaction, and loosens his collar a tad as his eyes roam elsewhere.
It was Lyren's gift as well; trust Arwen and Trelaine. Arwen's lips twitch, and he glances from one to the other, "I'm sure you'll love it...tonight." And with that, he bows, stepping back, to smile at Adelina politely at her invitation, but lets Trel speak.
Sydnia is relieved of the box by a servant who takes it somewhere... more appropriate, perhaps. She looks between Trelaine and Arwen with a thoroughly embarrassed but happy smile, retaining her blush well. She looks to Lyren, moving to his side to hiss in his ear. "Did you see what was in that box they gave us? It's skimpy. Red and lacey."
Kargan doesn't seem to turn a hair nor show the slightest interest in the mention of nights and gifts. Some of the more prudish nobles seem to have slightly disapproving looks however.
Adelina would look approving, if the gift was for anyone but her brother.
Kell growls unaudibly and takes a step closer to Kargan, eyes angry. "You will be sorely missed when you give me a reason to miss you. I am not consorting with the Aes Sedai, or the Warder, and I haven't even spoke to 'Goldie'. And if this is some act of jealousy, then you have a reason to be jealous, because he is twice the man you'll ever be." She's too angry to control her volume so some words might be heard.
Relovic is more than a little curious about the gift but of course would never ask. Deciding to persent later, or rather let them know of it anyway. Instead he turns to Adelina and says, "So my Queen, how do you feel this wonderous day?"
Kargan's eyes widen as he stares at Kell. The young whitecloak looks distinctly pale as his fists clench. Among the columns, Kargan says "Twice the man I am, yes? If you so adore your Prince, why did you not marry him and not me, eh?"
Adelina nods her head slightly, "I feel fine, though I am considering retiring to my room soon. It's been a long day, and I still have some work let to do. And you, Lord Relovic?"
Lyren widens his eyes a tad as Sydnia draws his attention back to her.. He blinks. Once. Again. Did he hear her right?
The heard denominator of 'warder' catches Arwen's attention, and he turns slightly, glancing over towards where Kell and Kargan disappeared.
Relovic gives a small nod, "I am doing rather well. It is good to see two who are truly happy together." He gives a glance over at the newlyweds with a smile and then he looks back to Adelina with the same smile.
Sydnia smiles brightly at Lyren, nodding slightly to his unasked question. "I'll show you later," she says in a tone that is touched with promise, smiling brightly.
Kell looks less angry for a moment, then reenforces it again. This time she's able to keep her voice low.
Among the columns, Kell says "Because I could not marry him. I married you, because I could, and I thought you loved me. I thought I would be able to love you back one day. But as far as I am conserned we're no longer married. If we were in Altara I would have taken a wife's right and killed you."
Lyren still only has the slightest clue as to what it may be, but the promise in Sydnia's voice makes him re-evaluate his opinion. "It sounds as though it may prove to be entertaining, my dear.."
The whitecloak's pallor seems to return to normal as he regards Kell with an even stare, watching her closely. Among the columns, Kargan says "Is that so, Kell. And how have I slighted you, woman? Have I not provided for you as a husband should? Do you not have servants, a bed, coin? Even if you choose not to use them?"
Adelina inclines her head to Relovic, "That is good. Is your arm doing well?" She could just be making small talk, and perhaps trying to ignore the couple.
Sydnia cannot but grin at her husband. "I think it shall be very entertaining, darling," she says brightly, catching his arm in hers again gently.
Kell growls again, hiding her real feelings under anger and turns around, speaking in soft tones again.
Among the columns, Kell says "Just go away. You're better off without me."
Relovic nods and brings his arm out of his sling to move it some before putting it back to rest it. "Yes. It is doing rather well. I should be able to go without the sling at all soon." With a small grimace he says, "But it will be a while before I swing a sword or pull my bow in hunt again."
Something akin to a hurt expression appears on Kargan's features as Kell turns away from him. Quickly, he masks it with an intensely angry expression as he jerks on first his coif, then helm. His footsteps ringing out across the marble flagstones, he strides towards the door.
Lyren slips his arm around Sydnia's with practiced ease... and, at last, something draws his attention to the whitecloak.. and the mysterious young lady he had just been talking to.
Mysterious. Yeah. Glancing towards Kell, Arwen tilts a brow, looking curious as he looks over the crowd, watching the cloak leave.
Sydnia's attention is drawn to where Lyren's is, and she studies the pair curiously, then turns to her husband with a half worried smile. "Hungry, love? I think we should all have dinner."
Kell closes her eyes, and looks releaved he left... though also... She moves slowly to one of the columns and leans against it, resting her forehead against the cold stone.
Lyren hesitates.. then nods. "Yes. I am. We should get the dinner underway, yes?"
Adelina smiles at her brother and nods, "That sounds about right. I think I will stay for dinner, then I should really retire."
Sydnia nods eagerly at Lyren, wishing to be out of Kell's presence. "Yes, let us all go have dinner, before all of our friends go home."
Lyren raises his voice a little to address the remaining audience. "Those of you who are invited to banquet, I believe everything hasbeen set out..
Relovic comes in escorting Adelina, their arms entwined with each others. As he enters the hall he looks forward, he was looking at the queen, with a smile on his face.
Arwen and Trelaine walk side by side, stopping near the edge to simply watch and observe, ignoring the stil-present looks at Arwen's almost challengingly normal attire.
A banquet is set forth to celebrate the union of the two Houses. Sydnia and Lyren walk in together, with Adelina and Relovic, among others. Syd looks to Adelina expectantly, smiling prettily and waiting for the
Queen to take her seat.
Adelina moves to take her seat at the head of the "grand" table, motioning Relovic to take a seat as well. Relovic is -obviously- in good with the Queen.
Relovic takes a seat near the Queen, definitely being in good with her majesty.
Sydnia waits for Lyren to take a seat next to his sister, then settles herself in the chair next to her husband, still smiling happily.
After sitting down, Lyren reaches for Sydnia's hand again as he waits for a servant to poor his wine.
Arwen holds out a seat for Trelaine; pausing, he waits for her to sit down, then sits down himself, glancing about the table calmly.
Sydnia takes Lyren's hand happily, looking as if the rest of the world is just a big blur compared to the man next to her.
Adelina smiles as the servants scurry over to take an order for food from the Queen first. She just shakes her head and says, "Sydnia and Lyren first." It is their big day after all.
Relovic glances at Sydnia and Lyren and then comments to Adelina, He mutters to Adelina, "... I... as..."
Lyren takes advantage of his sister's generosity.. "I will have the roast boar, with the salad... Sydnia? What would you like?"
Adelina smiles at Relovic and speaks in a very soft tone, one only picked up by certain ears.
Sydnia nods to Lyren, smiling. "I think I shall have the same," she agrees happily.
Miri stays in teh shadows, out of sight, out of mind
Kell arrives through the archway leading to the Grand Hall.
While she's whiepring to Relovic, Lyren nudges his sister. "My Queen... I thought you were going to offer a toast for the evening.."
Relovic's smile seems to promise anything, He mutters to Adelina, "... there... to."
Sydnia leans over to whisper to her new husband, smiling brightly the whole time. "Love, I'm so happy. It was beautiful, wasn't it? And I'm sure we can put Arwen and Trelaine's gift to good use tonight..."
Kell enters after a while, after showing her invitation, wrinkled as it is, to the guards. She doesn't move to sit at any of the tables and just moves off to the side, to watch. And stay out of the way.
Adelina glances at her brother. He didn't say anything about her having to give a toast. But she can manage. She stands up gracefully, grabbing up her glass of wine, "Lyren, I have known you longer than anyone else. I played games with you when you were shorter than me." She chuckles. That was so long ago. "And I still played games with you even after you put frogs in my purse, tricked me to climb walls so your friends could look up my skirt, and even when you climbed the Sun Tower and gave me a fright a night. Not to long ago either." She grins again, "But to the point. I wish you and your new wife all the happiness the world can offer. And may you have many children."
Miri winces at words overheard.
Sydnia lifts her glass at well, smiling gratefully at Adelina, apparently pleased immensely by the toast. Her gaze then turns to her new husband.
Lyren grins, leaning over to give his wife a kiss. "It was perfect... and I am eager to find out just what this present was..." Then his attention is payed to Adelina's speech, to which his grin grows wider and broader with each point made..
Sydnia giggles slightly, watching Lyren's face happily, before leaning over to whisper to him again. "If you knew what was in that box, you'd not even bother to chew your food, my love."
Adelina smiles at her brother and sits down after raising her glass and saying, "To you and your wife."
Kell puts her hands behind her back and continues to lean against the wall, out of the way, watching the happy couple whisper to each other. She keeps her face blank, and expressionless.
Lyren coughs slightly on his wine as Sydnia whispers in his ear, though he recovers admirably to raise his glass in response to his sister. "Thank you, 'Del"
Sydnia smiles to herself and delicately sips her wine. Her brothers, under the annoyed eye of their mother, converse between themselves softly, the elder looking decidedly uncomfortable, and the younger grinning
impishly.
Lyren finally decides it's his turn to say something. Taking a spoon, he taps it against his glass several times as he rises.
Kell continues to watch silently, looking prepared to leave soon, thinking she's seen enough. A servant makes his way over and asks her if she would like to have a seat for the dinner. She pauses for a moment, then nods and moves towards a very small table in the corner, that she shares with the decidedly less favorable nobles.
Adelina smiles and nods to the servant, "I'll have the same as my brother, please." She leans forward and smiles at her new sister-in-law, "So, Sydnia child. I asume you'll be staying in... Lyren's room?" She doesn't want to think about that at all, but it's a fact she'll have to get used to.
Lyren clears his throat, and looks about all those who've attended. "As futile as it may be to try and be heard while these two radiant beauties beside me gather all of your attention, I do have something I would like to say. To my sister, Adelina.. Though my new wife and I will take to our new duty to the throne with pleasure, here's to hoping that it will prove to be unnecessary..
Adelina glances up at Lyren. - Oh. She was rude wasn't she. Oh well. - and smiles, "Oh, well, perhaps. But for now, sit down and consentrate on your guests. I want to talk with your wife a moment, if that is alright with both of you?"
Sydnia blushes at Adelina, smiling rather nervously, then glancing at Lyren, blushes even deeper. "I... um, suppose," she murmurs eloquently, biting her lip, her eyes darting from her sister-in-law to her mother, who has the same response to the question as Adelina, then up to Lyren.
Kell continues to sit at her table with the nobles, watching Lyren in silence. The nobles seem to try and get her attention, asking her who she is and what not, but she ignores them quite effectivly.
Lyren nods his head, instead of retaking his seat. "By all means.. Sydnia, you can have my seat here. I am going to go and roam.."
Sydnia smiles to her husband, nodding. "Of course, Lyren," she says. "I'll just stay here and talk to your sister." Her gaze turns to Adelina as she slides over into Lyren's chair.
Adelina smiles at Sydnia and actually scoots her chair over a little. Girl talk. "Yes, you just go and tell your guests how glad you are to see them, since most of them likely haven't had a chance to give you their best
regards yet." Send away the men so the women can talk.
Kell watches as Lyren doesn't sit back down. This could be her chance, but instead she remains seated as a servant asks her what she wants to drink. She orders wine. As long as she isn't paying she might as well
endulge herself.
Sydnia looks to Adelina eagerly, her bright grin undiminished as her blush fades. "What did you wish to talk about?" she asks expectantly.
Adelina leans forward, grinning, "Well, there is a lot of free space up in the Sun Tower. It was built for a family of six to live up there after all. You could have your own study, that ajoins with Lyren's and even your own bedroom, if you wished." Hey, she has to try. "You can of course get your own house in the city if you would prefer."
Lyren travels from table to table, pausing for a moment at each one to chat meaninglessly with each noble guest. Each one he speaks to he does as if that were the most .. well, second most important person in the
world.
Sydnia nods slightly, smiling. "I think that would be lovely, actually," she says brightly. "I know how much Lyren adores you, and it would be lovely to retain that sense of close family. I'd hate to steal him away from you, but having our own suite would allow some separation and privacy."
Adelina nods, "That sounds good. I will make sure the servants move in your things tomorrow and the next day. Your room should be completely ready by the end of the week. Until then, you can ... stay in Lyren's room. Which is the furthest room from mine actually. All the way down the hall."
Kell watches Lyren as he travels from table to table, knowing hers will be near the last since she got the one where the "lower ranks" are sitting. She actually speaks for a moment to one of the nobles at her table, but she must have said something mean because the noblewoman looks angry for a moment and then turns away to talk to another noble.
Sydnia smiles graciously, ignoring Lyren for a moment. "I do so appreciate your welcoming me into your family. I can't tell you how happy I am to have you as a sister, and how thrilling to know that I may now
introduce Lyren as husband."
Adelina smiles briefly, "Perhaps one day soon I will know what it is like to call a man that. But for now, I will leave that pleasantry to you... sister." She tries it out. Never called anyone sister before. "And you are as welcome to my family as my brother, who obviously cares a great deal about you."
Sydnia sighs happily, placing her hand gently on the table. "I look forward to getting to know you better, you know," she says brightly, looking almost overwhelmed by happiness.
Lyren does eventually end up making his way by the table where Kell had been seated.. and this table's no different. He trades a few pleasant jokes with a noble there, and compliments a noblewoman's choice of
dress.
Adelina nods, with a bright smile, "And I, you, Sydnia. I had been hoping we could get to talk more during the last year, but unfortunatly with all the recent events, I was unable to talk to you much."
Kell murmurs a soft blessing about the Lord's marriage, then takes a generious sip on her wine. She does not laugh at the jokes, and seems rather neutral to everything said at the table.
Sydnia sighs softly and nods. "Well, I was so busy helping Mother... She was so ill over the last year, you know. I'm glad she's doing better now, though."
Adelina nods understandingly, "I understand that, and I am not angry. It just means we have a lot of catching up to do. You will likely want to sleep in late tomorrow, so perhaps we could have afternoon tea together to start off with?"
Sydnia smiles brightly and nods. "Oh, yes," she agrees. "After the stress of this wedding, for it was quite an affair to organize, as I'm sure you noticed, though I hope for your sake you were not nearly so nervous as I, but I think I shall sleep quite soundly tonight."
Adelina chuckles, "Then perhaps you should have your own room tonight." She lowers her voice and says playfully, "Lyren snores. My room in the old house when we were younger was right next to his and I could still hear him." She giggles. She loves poking fun at little brother.
Sydnia giggles at that. "So does my eldest brother. Dyarmid used to tickle his nose with feathers to make him make these odd noises," she admits softly. Older brothers are hers to ridicule.
Adelina laughs as well, "Well Lyren always insists he does not snore. I mean he absolutely insists. So perhaps if he hears it from you as well he will start to believe it."
Sydnia glances over to Lyren, then turns her attention quickly back to Adelina, her smile slightly diminished. "Well, I shall have to tell him, if it is true," she says, almost half-heartedly. "Not that I don't believe you."
Adelina raises an eyebrow, as if wondering why Sydnia's smile is diminishing, "Is there anything else you would like to talk about?"
Lyren hesitates.. and blinks. See, normally, he doesn't look to closely at anyone, for reasons of his own.. but he notices Kell, finally. And the sight is enough to crack even his smooth demeanour, if temporarily.
Sydnia's glance darts nervously over to her new husband once more, then she turns back to her sister-in-law and smiles, trying to find that broken strain of pleasant conversation. "It seems you have a friend in Lord Voraneth, don't you?" she begins pleasantly.
Kell sits up in her chair a little and offers a small smile to the Prince, murmuring another customary blessinging, before saying anything else. "You told me you wished me to be here for the wedding, and since it is over I think I will go ahead and leave. There does not seem to be any dancing, and your... wife... seems to have your attention. I will leave you to her."
Adelina looks down and smiles, "Yes, well, Lord Relovic is quite nice. I would not mind becoming better aquanted with him." Her turn to blush slightly, because she left out the fact she's already fairly well aquainted with the golden-eyed lord.
Lyren seems to be at a loss for words, though his fights to attempt to hide the look of surprise on his face succeed to the point where he appears plasantly surprised..
Sydnia giggles slightly, trying to focus on Adelina. "Perhaps you should have him over more often, then," she says pleasantly. "More parties would be fun, wouldn't they?"
Kell smiles briefly. "Have I worn out my invitation, or should I stay and watch a little while longer. I don't want to stay if I am only in the way." Her own voice is actually calm for a change.
Adelina grins briefly, "Well, he is over here... often enough, but yes, parties would be nice, as long as the security was very good." She's still upset over the event at her nameday celebration.
Lyren regains his composure a moment later, and he answers with a shake of the head. "You can stay for as long as you wish.. Your invite is no different than the rest, save for I actually wanted you to be here."
Sydnia nods, agreeing with Adelina. "That would be good. Of course we need the security measures, but I think we could probably do that."
Kell nods. "Then I believe I will stay. The wine is good, and since I'm not paying I think I would like to enjoy it a little while longer. But I think I will be leaving soon. There's no one here I can really talk to. Besides you of course."
Adelina smiles at Sydnia, "Yes, with the paries in doors due to the weather it will likely be much safer. Perhaps we should have a party at the end of the week, to celebrate your entrance into my house?"
Sydnia rubs her hands together and smiles, nodding. "Oh, that would be just lovely," she says excitely. "I think that would be quite enjoyable. It will be a rush to set up, of course, but.."
Adelina smiles, "Don't worry about setting it up, I'll do all of it. I'll even send out the invitations. It is the least I can do for my new sister, after all."
Lyren nods his head... yes, he can see the point. "Enjoy all the food you can.. While I am not sure how free I will be to talk with you tonight, know that I am grateful you came"
Sydnia shakes her head slightly and smiles. "But you have so much to do," she protests lightly. "Still, I am sure you are better at such a thing than I... I will help as I can."
Adelina shakes her head, "There is really not as much to do as you might think." That's a lie actually, but she doesn't want to cause the young bride too much stress on her wedding night.
Kell nods. "Maybe we can talk another time." then she stands up, moving to curtsy slightly without much success. Hey, so she's only done it once or twice before. "Congratulations on your marriage. Sne my regards to your lovely wife. And thank you for the invitations your highness. It was quite generous." That should send the noble's tongues flapping with wonder on who this woman is. She sits back in her chair again and rearranges her skirt, murmuring a joke how she might get used to these things.
Lyren runs his hands through his hair and shakes his head. "Do not thank me yet.. Now, if you will all excuse me.. I have a very beautiful wife eagerly awaiting my return, no doubt... Thank you all for coming,
and have a wonderful evening."
Sydnia smiles softly at Adelina and nods. "Well, then I shall trust it to you. Do let me know though," she says, looking back to Lyren as he approaches her again.
Adelina smiles and stands up, "I think I will go up and start some things. I want to finish a few things before the night is over actually." She smiles to her brother, "You be safe, little brother. And I hope one day I have a wedding as happy as this."
Kell just nods briefly and returns to her wine as the prince walks away. He has a lovely wife to go to. She has wine.
Lyren ahs to himself, pausing at the chair that had once been Sydnia's. "Well, my lady and wife, has it turned out to be everything you had hoped it would be?" he asks of Sydnia upon arrival.
Adelina smiles and repeats to her brother, since he's now in earshot, that she is going to depart. "And yes, everything is fine."
Sydnia smiles and rises, looking Lyren in the eyes happily, replying, "Oh, my lord and husband, it was the best day of my life, and I do not know that I shall see the day that will top it."
Adelina chuckles at her brother and his bride, then nods her head slightly and turns on her heel to leace, alowing the couple to have their time together. The Queen's Attendants pad in behind her of course, like
shadows.
