SCENE: Common room, Silver Star Inn, Cairhien
The room appears rather serviceable for an inn common room. Tables and chairs are scattered through the area, as smells of food and ale permeate the room. There is a bar near the kitchen, where drinks may be served to those who do not wish to eat a meal. Several paintings and portraits appear to line the walls, as well as some banners and flags, showing off different things to the patrons and to allow for decoration. Almost everything appears clean, or as clean as it can get.
A warm breeze floats generously throughout the room, through the open windows, slightly billowing the curtains as it passes. The room has a single lantern lit, sitting on the table within the middle of the room. It appears to be devoid of life, save for a few cats lounging about, waiting for any mice that may pass their way.
A large oak door appears to lead outside toward the stable yard of the inn. A set of sturdy stairs leads upstairs into the a hallway which houses guest rooms and the common sleeping area. A large archway leads into a nearby tea room.
Zarniel turns his head from his table at the sound of footsteps in the room.
Three women glide serenely in from outside, dressed for travel. The observant will note the Great Serpent which gleams from each hand. Behind them is another woman, a servant most likely.
Mestoph glances over his shoulder to see what Zarniel is looking at. The man sighs and continues to talk with Zarniel, "You just can't get away from those witches."
Zarniel's eyes notice the three women, and widen quickly, as they dart from one face to another. He never even notices the Serpent Rings, eyes and head immediatly returning to his table and his drink.
Zarniel looks up at his companion, a highly questioning look appearing on his face.
Morillin gives Mestoph a cool look as one of her sisters speaks with the innkeeper. "What was that?" she inquires, stepping closer to their table and looking down at both men as she might a pair of unwholesome insects.
Zarniel quickly pushes his glass away from him and stands slowly, allowing the woman to anticipate his every move and keeping his eyes on steadfast on the floor, "Aes Sedai, I share not my companion's words, yet apologize for his unthought response." he says, giving as deep a bow as he can muster while looking to the floor.
Mestoph takes the bottle of wine and refills his glass with the red liquid. Setting the bottle aside he brings the glass to his lips. He seems unaware of Morillin's approuch as his back is towards her. However when she speaks he looks over towards the woman, a smile of amusement plays across his face "What was what?" he asks. A Tyrian accent shows, no doubt he could be from Tyr.
Raechel pushes through the door, exiting the stableyard.
Zarniel does not let his attention stray, awaiting an answer from the woman before him.
Raechel comes in quietly. She looks around, blinking when she sees the Aes Sedai. There is a brief moment that it takes for her presence to sink in before Raechel curtsies, a nice low graceful one.
Morillin flicks a glance at Zarniel. "Do not waste your breath. The only apology I will accept is one given by this poor fool himself." With a crystalline chime, the glass of wine which Mestoph holds in one hand abruptly shatters into a hundred razor-edged slivers, sending wine onto the table and his clothes. A heartbeat later, he is hauled to his feet by unseen hands, whirled around to face the Aes Sedai. Who waits, icily calm.
Zarniel immediatly takes a step back at the sound of the words, his eyes raising for a mere moment to the Sedai and quickly darting over, as if scared, to the newcomer in the room.
Raechel moves over to the bar and hopefully out of the way. She watches Morillin...wishing...
Mestoph's reaction is of total supprise as the glass shatters in front of him. His first reaction is to stand which he begins then is whirled up into the air facing the Aes Sedai. The mans speach is slured no doubt from being drunk "Apologize for what? he stammers, and looking maybe even a little frightened.
Raechel licks her lips as she watches and is sure he'll figure it out.
Morillin's mouth tightens briefly as Mestoph is dragged closer, knocking his chair over along the way. When his face is mere inches from her own, she says softly, "Aes Sedai deserve your respect. You are never to address us as 'witches', or anything of the sort. The Power can be used to do a great many things, and some of them would be extremely painful. Do you wish to discover this for yourself?"
Mestoph shakes his head from side to side, no doubt the drunken man is angered by this but doesn't care to say anything about the subject.
Zarniel lets his eyes look up towards the man suspended in the air, a look of shock on his face as he hears the words from both. He takes a brief moment to look over the Sedai speaking with him, a small shiver going through his body as he glances at the women in the room. His eyes quickly head back to the window as he steadies his hands.
Morillin nods, and those invisible hands give Mestoph a brisk shake. "Very good. Now, apologize to me, and I will let you go with nothing but a few cuts and bruises."
Mestoph's fear seems to set in even more and it shows by his facial expressions, "I...I .." he stutters and countines "Apoligize."
Morillin steps back gracefully, and Mestoph is dropped from the air to land as he will. Without another word to him, as if his existance no longer matters to her, she turns away. She inclines her head a fraction to Raechel when her dark eyes fall upon her.
Zarniel doesn't let his eyes travel towards the two, but lets out a long sigh as he hears the apology. He rubs a shaking hand across his forehead in relief.
Mestoph turns his head towards Zarniel winking at him so only he can see. As he turns around towards Morillin he slowly backs away towards his chair with a look of fear still placed on his face.
Zarniel forces a very slight grin in the direction of Mestoph, still lightly shaking as he slowly makes his way towards the table he just recently left, eyes darting towards the Sedai the entire walk.
Raechel curtsies once again to the Aes Sedai...very respectfully.
Morillin glides across the common room, towards Raechel, lowering her voice to speak with her once she reaches the other woman.
