Location:Battlefield: Cairhien and Savior War
Summary:The Savior's men are beat back when reinforcements from Andor come to the rescue. Cairhien wins the war, but not without a heacy price. The loss of their Queen bears down upon the citizens heavily.

From the Cairhien Camp: The Savior's forces have, oddly enough, allowed the Cairhien forces to rest a few days. While some seem to think it had to do with the efforts of Thad Hardgraves, Captain of the Royal Forces, others seem to think that the Savior has received reports that the Andorans were within a few days ride and needed to regroup their efforts. In truth, the Andorans are now only an hour away, and the battle once more seems to be forefront in everyone's mind. Both camps are preparing to leave their main resting area to once more go out into the field.

In truth, the Andorans are now only an hour away, and the battle once more seems to be forefront in everyone's mind. Both camps are preparing to leave their main resting area to once more go out into the field.

From the Cairhien Camp: Adelina exits her tent, looking tired and worn. The last few days have not been particularly nice nor kind to her, especially not with snow having touched the ground again at least one of those nights. The cold seems to have affected her mood badly. "Good afternoon, Briana Sedai." She greets cordially, nodding her head to the others.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana Walks through the chill weather not even wearing a coat and yet seemingly not bothered by it at all. She nods to the Queen, "We shall prevail Majesty..we must."

From the Cairhien Camp: Narth huddles with several other Whitecloak officers, they seem to be reviewing a map of the local area.

Beside the Alguenya River: Samril grumbles to himself as he sharpens his sword. "Don't know why we let the Andoran's get so close. We should've finished them when we had the chance..." He goes on for a while longer but it isn't audible to anyone else besides himself.

From the Cairhien Camp: Kolvin stands off by his own tent alone as he prepares pieces of his armor quietly and polishes the silver bladet hat he often wears at his side. Waiting on a summons from the Queen to tell him that there is to be another beginning.

From the Cairhien Camp: As with many other times before, the Queen puts a reassuring smile on her features, mostly meant for the men and the rest of the troops. "With the Andoran's only an hour away, I would hope. Surely, the Savior has not gotten most of his forces here by now."

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana moves close to whisper to the Queen.

Beside the Alguenya River: Keldar grunts, looking at Samril. "Did you see how /many/ there were of them? You could have stayed and finished 'em, but..." He shakes his head, "I may be ambitious, but I'm not a fool."

From the Cairhien Camp: Narth points out certain places on the map that he reviews

Beside the Alguenya River: Samril glances at Samril and hmphs loudly. "The Savior would have led us to victory like he has done before." From the looks of the man, he just likes an excuse to fight.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana stays close by the Queen offering her advice and aid.

From the Cairhien Camp: Adelina looks to Briana, tilting her head a bit. The small crown which rests upon her head tilts enough that she has to put it back into place. "I'll do what I must, Briana Sedai. I cannot promise that I'll keep to the back. Not after our failure the other evening."

Beside the Alguenya River: "I like any excuse to fight that I can find, just as you. And I like the rewards the Savior's offerin' us. But what I like more is keepin' me hide." Keldar grunts back, fingering the tip of his sword as he stands his watch over hte battlefield.

From the Cairhien Camp: Adelina lowers her voice enough for Briana to hear as she now walks off toward the groom. As she does, she notices Kolvin and nods her head to the Captain of her general forces. She mutters to Briana, "... we... that... to..." Her voice is firm on some matter, then she has a few words with the groom.

From the Cairhien Camp: Narth seems to finish with his superiors and rises up, giving them a salute before going off to gather men for battle.

From the Cairhien Camp: Kolvin finishes his preparations, the personal ones, and then makes his way over towards the Queen's own tent. Rubbing his cheek with teh tough leather gauntlet on his hand as he makes his way over to the pair of women with a serious look on his face. A rarity, to be certain. "Your Majesty." he says in an easy, smooth voice as he grows nearer.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana walks over to another groom and has her own horse saddled.

Beside the Alguenya River: Samril shrugs non-commitally and comments, "At least we should be able to finish tonight." Whisk-whisk-whisk. He keeps sharpening the sword that is rather newfound for the man. Least he seems to know how to use it.

From the Cairhien Camp: "Captain Merettia," Adelina greets, turning her darkened eyes upon the man who leads the majority of her forces. "You are ready and prepared?" The question echoes in her eyes, though even by looking over his shoulder she can see the answer to her question.

Beside the Alguenya River: Keldar chuckles wryly. "That's what I liked about you Samril. You've always had a good sense of humor, and a good sense of self." He grunts at the end of his chuckling, narrowing his eyes over the distance. "I wonder when they're gonna try and attack again. I still canna believe they got away with attackin' our camp with out so much as a blinkin' scratch against them."

From the Cairhien Camp: "I am my Queen." he says as he qatchesy ou thoughtfully for a moment and purses his lips against one another, "Though if those Andorans don't get the job done I doubt that our rag tag group of farmers will do very well this time. Last time they did about as best they could." Kolvin explains as he rolls his shoulders around for a moment, "I hope for the best." he says with a smile and a bit of amusement.

Beside the Alguenya River: Samril grins wryly and continues sharpening. "Well, we'll make sure to scratch them up good and nice now."

From the Cairhien Camp: "Well, I hope the reinforcements we were due, on top of the Andorans, will come in nicely." As the groom comes, Adelina sets herself to mounting up. "If you'll excuse me a moment, it seems I must also have words with our... allies." With that, she looks over at Narth and the others.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana mounts her steed as well resting easily atop the horse.

From the Cairhien Camp: Narth is discussing things with the lesser ranking Children

Beside the Alguenya River: "Nice and good." Keldar grants, nodding his head a bit. His horse dances a little in anticipation.

From the Cairhien Camp: A deep, intoned sound can be heard echoing across the fields. Once again, its the Savior's men who sound the call to war, trumpeting over their triumph from the day before to enhearten their men.

Ashigaru Village: A deep, intoned sound can be heard echoing across the fields. Once again, its the Savior's men who sound the call to war, trumpeting over their triumph from the day before to enhearten their men.

Within the Savior Camp: A deep, intoned sound can be heard echoing across the fields. Once again, its the Savior's men who sound the call to war, trumpeting over their triumph from the day before to enhearten their men.

From the Cairhien Camp: Adelina takes the reins of her animal as she gets settled onto the beasts back, then nudges it forward. Her gelded warhorse moves forward eagerly, anticipating the trouble ahead. It only takes a few moments to get to where the Children are camped before Adelina pulls to a stop and gives a cursory, regal nod. "Good afternoon."

Beside the Alguenya River: Samril smiles and rises to his feet as he slips his whetstone into a pouch. Making his way to his horse he mounts and readies for battle.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana follows behind the Queen saying nothing. Her calm gaze looks about the Children's camp curiously.

From the Cairhien Camp: Narth and the Children around him give a salute to the queen "Good day, your Magesty."

From the Cairhien Camp: "You fought a good battle the other evening. Thank you, for your aid in this." The Queen comments quietly, as her horse shifts eagerly under her weight. The animal wants to be loosed, and is ready for the charge, even if it will not be taking direct part in the battle.

Beside the Alguenya River: Keldar grunts again, his own animals' ears perking up as the horn call is made. He snorts heavily, stamping his feet, knowing what likes ahead. "This time, we're to wait for them." Keldar speaks quietly, leaning down to pat his horse's neck. "Let them come to us."

Beside the Alguenya River: Samril doesn't look too happy at that prospect, but he does as ordered. Waiting for them to come to them. He takes out his sword again and twirls it in his hand while he waits.

From the Cairhien Camp: Narth says "Thank you, your magesty, I fight for the Light and as I am told, the side of the Light is with you. Even if you accept help from those of that Tower, you have the support of the Children against the murder who had our Lord Captain Commander slain."

From the Cairhien Camp: Regally, the Queen nods her head. "We are grateful for your help. Perhaps we can talk about further concessions for the Children after this mess is over." She smirks slightly, "If you'll excuse me, it seems the Savior's men has called the battle to rise." Turning her animal once more, she heads back to Kolvin and his men. "Captain, it is time to signal our own attack."

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana nods to Narth, "light Shine."

From the Cairhien Camp: Narth gives the queen another salute and lets her go off. Readying his own men for battle.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana turns her steed and follow after the Queen.

From the Cairhien Camp: Valdan walks out of the tent housing the already wounded to watch the departing army, again, his eyes following Adelina as in the previous day's battle.

From the Cairhien Camp: Kolvin takes a deep breath for a moment and looks around at the area and then nods to the trumpeter. "Signal the men." he says and motionst o have his war horse brought to him before he mounts the huge black beast easily. "Shall we, my queen?" he says finally.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana rides over to Valdan briefly before following the Queen out. SHe leans down to speak with him quietly.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana mutters to Valdan, "... a..."

From the Cairhien Camp: Narth getting his men into formation readies for the orders to march

From the Cairhien Camp: "Yes, we shall, Captain." The Queen then turns her eyes to the trumpeteer, watching him with an expectant light in her eyes. She shifts her horses reins to her other hand, gripping the animal with her legs a little more tightly than before. There is a grim expression resting on Adelina's features.

From the Cairhien Camp: A resounding bugle, from the other side of the encampment, sounds across the battlefield. This time, the Cairhienin signal that they're about to join the fray, though its return call sounds almost haunting and eerie. An ill omen, perhaps?

From the Cairhien Camp: Valdan looks up sharply at the Red Sister as she speaks to him, startled almost? His green eyes half close till they give nothing else away. He mutters to Briana, "This day,... I... a... crown..." Did Adelina reveal him to the Sedai? He does not wish to be taken to the tower and studied like some rat.

From the Cairhien Camp: As the man lifts the horn to his lips and it lets out a low, long droning sound that rings in a brassy fashion across the field and camp. With that Kolvin rides forth at a moderate trot, presumably along with the Queen of Cairhien. "Light save us all." he mumbles with pnched lips.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana talks quietly to Valdan, "I give you a task please. Record what happens here today and report it to the tower. "

From the Cairhien Camp: The Queen, indeed, did not speak of any visions Valdan had the day previously, any more than she would speak of her brother's talents in that particular area. Why waste a good tool? Unaware of where her unwanted 'Sedai' protector has gotten off to, she fully prepares to charge her horse into the fray. In the background, some say the same prayer as Kolvin, while others cheer, "For the Rising Sun!"

From the Cairhien Camp: Narth and several hundred Children of the light start marching off to war giving a cry of "For the Light!"

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana nods her head to Valdan and sends her horse into a trot following after the Queen. Soon she is once more at the Queen's side.

From the Cairhien Camp: Valdan steps back, too quickly, almost as if he had been bitten. "Have you no historian that the tower would rely on the words of a half breed healer?" Yet his voice is soft, perhaps too soft for the retreating Sedai to hear.

From the Cairhien Camp: Narth heads toward the village.

Ashigaru Village: Narth arrives from the direction of the Cairhien Base.

From the Cairhien Camp: Adelina heads toward the village.

Ashigaru Village: Kolvin heads toward the river.

Beside the Alguenya River: Kolvin arrives from the direction of the village.

Valdan comes back to watch while they do the battle thing

Beside the Alguenya River: Keldar grunts. "Wish they'd come already. I don't like just sittin' here, waiting for battle." Keldar releases the knot of his sheath, allowing his sword to come out easily. He draws it, fingers itching to go around the handle.

Beside the Alguenya River: Blocks of the Cairhienin army shift into place with the rumble of thirty five thousand human and a appropriate number of horses and animals besides. Riding through the ranks upon a monstrous black horse and Kolvin in black, chitin leather upon its back. Nearby him, at least initially, is the smallish Queen of Cairhien riding amongst her own peasantry in the time of need. There is a buzzing about the Cairhienin as they make an effort to sturdy themselves for the coming battle.

Beside the Alguenya River: Briana rides along the side of the Queen guiding her horse easily with her legs. Her arms are free and spread outward as she concentrates weaving flows unseen to most. Soon she is done and holds the power creating a barrier to ward arrows and bolts from striking the Queen or anyone at her side.

Beside the Alguenya River: Men wearing the blazing colors of House Tiigril, signifying the Royal Guard of Cairhien, follow along, in a haphazard seeming fashion, around Queen Adelina. Visibly leading that particular grouping is Lord Thad Hargraves, who stays near the back to ensure his particular cropping of men stay together, unless he otherwise notes.

Beside the Alguenya River: Thousands of men for the Savior rattle their swords and bang onto their shields, ready for the fight

Beside the Alguenya River: A small contingent of the Savior's men is already waiting along the front lines, this time designating that the chosen ground is 'his' for the choosing. A force of nearly ten thousand men are ready and waiting, some nervously twitching and ready to get into battle. Some break away from the main group, despite their orders to wait, to attack the oncoming Cairhienin.

Beside the Alguenya River: Samril is one of those rattling his sword. However he is better disciplined and waits as ordered to. He has taken up position in a block of similar fighters, all waiting to bloody their swords with Cairhien blood.

Beside the Alguenya River: Also disciplined, Keldar stays where he is. He grumbles, "Damnable fools. They'll get themselves killed." He runs his fingers along his sword, waiting and ready. There's bloodlust shining in his eyes.

Beside the Alguenya River: The Cairhienin army answer with a rallying cheer, timed every dozen seconds or so. Kolvin looks down at the enemy army trying to determine what their layout is, seeking potential ambush points, traps and threats while the blocks of troops and everything. His lips frown as he also makes an efort to get an accurate accounting of the enemy's numbers.

Beside the Alguenya River: Narth raises his fist to his men as his own commander does so to hold the men from attacking just yet

Beside the Alguenya River: Lord Hargraves manages a small conversation with the Queen before he sends off a group of his men, around to the left, flanking around the general Cairhienin army. Others take up standpoints around the Queen, forming a protective circle, should any of the Savior's men get past them.

Beside the Alguenya River: Adelina nods her head after Thad, then turns to observe the army. She takes out her ceremonial sword once more, pushing her horse a little closer to the fray than might be acceptable. "For Cairhien! For the Sun Throne!" She calls the rally, attempting to enhearten her men, who retreated limply back to their camp the last time they were out here.

Beside the Alguenya River: Briana stays right with the Queen like her shadow. She holds the power keeping her eyes open for any threats and watching the formations of troops with interest.

Beside the Alguenya River: Those few strays continue toward the Cairhienin men, some swinging their swords. The ride heavy and fast, attempting to get at the men who've just appeared up the hill.

Beside the Alguenya River: Samril waits to see what damage, if any, the fools that have rushed in do.

Beside the Alguenya River: Not a bad idea, to try and strike before teh Cairhienin army can get set into place with the mighty numbers it commands. However, Kolvin yells out. "Archers! Fire!" and, though they appear briefly surprised, many of them take their key and begin to rain arrows down on the charging horsemen. "Pikemen set!" he yells and again, most members realize that something's happening. Signals wave and soon the army is crawling into a defensive stance to receive the errant charge.

Beside the Alguenya River: The arrows of the archers hit some of the marks, though there are those who do manage to get past the flying arrows. Those that get get though, continue to drive forward, riding hard. Others are still lost against the pikeman, as they drive the horses forward, but so bent are they on maiming some, or perhaps providing a distraction, they willingly impale their horses on the pikes.

Beside the Alguenya River: Adelina shifts in her seat, the animal dancing about wearily. It wants to move forward. Why they choose this particular mount for her, she can't even begin to fathom. She pulls lightly at the reins, attempting to keel the beast in check. "Easy there." She comments lightly, her brow crinkling.

Beside the Alguenya River: Kolvin stands in his stirrups and begins to look about the battlefield. "Signal to watch for flanking and rear attacks!" he calls to his aides and looks back towards teh Queen and her troop. His own men trampled by the horsemen who make it through, just a few yeards in teh horses will loset heir momentum and then the riders will be pulled off and killed. Perhaps along with the horse itself. The damage will be minimal in the grand scheme of the battle, but their efforts are baltantly suicidal and intended to distract the Cairhienin generals.

Beside the Alguenya River: There's little evidence of the approaching army, but for the birds that take to the flight off the eastern side along the forest line. The savior's men make their approach in long lines, weaving through the trees and taking into formation. Those on horses ride ahead, directing the soldiers into position. The pikemen lead the group, with lines of bowmen behind. The leader of this group rides proud on his horse, flanked by another riding holding the savior's flag.

Beside the Alguenya River: "Form a box. Pikemen face outwards on three sides." Kolvin commands and pinches his mouth into a frown for a moment and then lifts his chin upwards. "Fire some pitch arrows into the forst line. Smoke them out or burn them alive, I don't care which." he says and looks back down into the valley for a moment. Moments later several dozens arrows, lit with flame are fired into the forest where the flanking manuever comes from. The diversionary horsemen are, by now, all dead and gone and the Cairhienin blocks are repositioning themselves to account for losses as well as they can. Not difficult.

From the Cairhien Camp: A clarion call is made, another bugler signaling something. A cheer rises up from the Savior's men within the valley, marking it as their own call to strike. The riders in the valley below the Cairhienin urge their animals forward, some taking off at a dead run, while others go more slowly and methodically. Foot soldiers follow behind, pikemen first, archers last, and the common swordsman in the very back. Some men on the horses appear to be skilled riders as well as shooters, dropping their reins to nock arrows aimed at the Cairhienin group.

Some men on the horses appear to be skilled riders as well as shooters, dropping their reins to nock arrows aimed at the Cairhienin group.

Beside the Alguenya River: Adelina's brow furrows at the call, a placid expression overcoming her features. Anyone who knows her closely enough would understand that look would be forced, real worry hidden behind a seal of outward calm. Yet, her attention is called to the portion that's managed to flank their group, making things a bit too close for comfort. "My Queen, we should ride to the other side," one of the men left in charge, after Thad had gone to over see some other orders, comes to the Queen's aid.

Beside the Alguenya River: The numbers of Whitecloaks begin to move thier formations into one similar to that of the others in the Cairhien army, of a defensive stature, despite the disparagement of numbers on both sides. Especially after the initial reports that came of the Savior's army.

Beside the Alguenya River: Though the Cairhien army manages to strike their attack quickly on the forming army to the east, the sheer numbers seem to better the odds for the savior's men. The arrows lit with fire come crashing down on the group before they have a chance to arrange for their position. Some hit the tree line, causing small fires. But the line just beyond the forest that forms is far more dangerous with the potential to launch three or four arrows to the one of the Cairhienin's group. Perhaps. It's difficult to judge with only those beyond the forest line being visible. When they do finally arrange in a row, their panic shows, but only before the bows get loaded and lifted. When the call is made, the arrows hail from the tree-line and toward the Cairhien soldiers.

Beside the Alguenya River: Samril grins as the clarion call rings out. He kicks his horse to a trot, and unlike his ill assorted armor, the horse looks like it is his even if it isn't exactly a champion bred horse. Sword ready, he races forward with the faster of Savior's men, eager for blood.

Beside the Alguenya River: A day of mixed blessing for the Cairhienin army. The enemy approaching from the valley is, assuredly, at a massive disadvantage to the Cairhienin with higher ground. Arrows arc down on the enemy army and pikemen set to receive the charge of the fervent horsemen. The arrows can sail a long way from this high up, riddling ranks of the Savior's army through. Nearly impossible to miss. However, the Cairhienin must fight on two flanks and that all but garuntees a defeat for all but the most well trained and well conditioned of armies. Kolvin says with a sigh, "Hold defensive stature and prepare to receive charge." and then more quietly, "And pray."

Beside the Alguenya River: Keldar seems to share some of Samril's enthusiasm afterall, for when the call is made, he urges his horse forward with a great amount of enthusiasm. "Get along there, Miashra. Get along." He beats the rump of his horse with the flat of his sword, urging it faster. Like the ones before, he doesn't seem to care about the pikemen, perhaps seeing holes between the men where he can fit his own animal.

Beside the Alguenya River: Briana looks over where the officer indicates and readies herself to follow the queen wherever she might go.

Beside the Alguenya River: "I should be doing something more than I am. To be reduced to watching on a hill is not my idea of leading my army." Adelina complains, and rightly so. "We're fighting for Cairhien, for Light's sake, against those gully-rotted fish for brains."

Beside the Alguenya River: Briana nods to the Queen, "It is enough to be here your Majesty. From here you can see the entire battle before you and guide from safety."

Beside the Alguenya River: Narth and the rest of his comrades in the Children of the Light are positioned at the side closest to the river protecting that flank.

Beside the Alguenya River: The Savior's men from the east continue to rain arrows down on the Cairhien army. Reloading, and then firing, attacking the east side of the Cairhienin forces. They are faced with more fire arrows, and they also make their own arrangement of starting fires before the archers and then readying the arrows already prepared. The next set of arrows from some of the archers blaze the sky in red as they fly high over and hit down on the Cairhienin forces. Those that find Briana's shield bounce off in fiery bursts and fall to the grass forming the first of the fires.

Beside the Alguenya River: "Guide? It is my Captains who are doing my guiding for me." Adelina hrmphs, that bad mood only becoming worsened. She looks at the man attempting to direct them to more safe areas with annoyance, looking as though she's half debating on joining the men this go round. Some Queen's have been known to fight, rather than just sit behind the lines in safety. As Adelina attempts to continue her little tirade, the horse startles at the fires around them. It dances about uneasily, whickering in fright.

Beside the Alguenya River: Briana pats her mare's neck softly as it skitters nervously due to the nearby fires. She seems to be a fairly skilled rider and manages to calm and control her steed. She looks with worry to the Queen, "I think We should head west to oversee matter from that angle your Majesty."

Beside the Alguenya River: Perhaps he could fit them under optimum circumstances, but can he steer his horse so nimbly when dozens of men charge along at his sides with the same idea of hitting those same holes? Someone has to end on the head of a pike, luck shall decide. The bowmen continue fire arrows at the army approaching from the valley, a medium sized group a just a few hundred continue to fire on the flanking army intent on creating a forest fire around the enemy group. When the Savior's horse units crash onto the Cairhien army, from the group in the valley, there is a great scream of steel biting flesh, death and snapping wood. The footmen from the army below are well behind, climbing a hill in armor is tedious business indeed. The line of Cairhienin buck inwardly just a few feet when soem of teh horsemen trample through, but swordsmen behind the pikemen begin stabbing horses and men atop them even as others are trampled. Kolvin watches from near the center of his little 'box' manuever. Even as dozens fall to the flanking armies arrow barrages the enemy coming from the valley is paying a morbid toll for their progress, far more than the Cairhienin lose to their charge.

Beside the Alguenya River: An arrow glances off of Samril's armor, not having been at the right angle to penetrate the rings. He rides on, getting closer to the pikemen and looking for a hole in their defense, or perhaps thinking of a way to distract some to create a hole to slip through. He better think fast else his horse will be embedded on some nice pointy sticks.

Beside the Alguenya River: While Adelina might hear Briana's words, and no matter how skilled she is at riding, this particularly skittish horse is not one to be calmed so lightly. The fires have its nerves a shambles, and even if the Queen had wanted to go where the Aes Sedai directs, it looks as though the beast has ideas of its own. It starts to take to the bit and head off more in the direction of the battle, taking Adelina with it as it breaks into a run.

Beside the Alguenya River: Briana gasps chasing after the Queen. So far she holds the power still but it becomign very hard to concentrate on keep with the Queen and holding the flows all at once. Meanwhile she calls out, "Guardsmen to your Queen her horse is maddened!" And off they go chasing after the Queen and her runaway steed.

Beside the Alguenya River: The guardsmen who are in charge of the Queen's care, do indeed go into action. They nudge their horses after her, attempting to move with enough forward momentum that they'll over take the runaway steed. Yet, the gelding has speed and agility on his hands, even if he is a bit touched in the head, and that sort of beast was somehow, specifically chosen for her to ride, no doubt. The Queen manages to hold on, and not fall. Doing so at this particular speed would be more detrimental to her health than simply being struck by an arrow.

Beside the Alguenya River: Keldar does, indeed, become entangled in the pikemen, or swords men, though more so his horse than he. He swings his sword about, left and right, already more than aware of the fact that he would die this day. He grunts with each swing, attempting to hack off a limb or slice through something vital in order to fell more men and make the path easier to walk than the previous night. Surely, these people don't have as much fight left? He takes several wounds to the legs, as the Cairhienin manage to poke and prode him with his other weapons.

Beside the Alguenya River: Briana finally is forced to give up all attempts to control the power and concentrate of guiding her own mare into a gallop after the Queen. Now w/o the protection of the magic she must hope speed with be enough and that she can catch up quickly and calm that horse.

Beside the Alguenya River: Right behind the charging steeds, the arches make way, producing a volley of arrows coming up from the valley, in an attempt to attack the Cairhienin atop the hill. It looks like, in the distance, there are more men coming, rows upon rows of them, an unimaginable force. Yet, even so, the ones that must be worried about are here and now. After the archers launch off their first set of arrows, the footsoldiers move in to the forefront, attempting to cut through any foe that gets in their way. Archers volley arrows after some get through, and repeat the process to offer their own men some protection.

Beside the Alguenya River: The forest line to the east begins to catch more on fire at the push of the attack of the fire arrows. Men die. They scream. They burn. One of the commanders on horse gives the command, launching the pikemen forward in a rush to clash against the Cairhienin soldiers. That doesn't halt the deep attack of arrows, both lit and sharp.

Beside the Alguenya River: The hurried sprint of the Queen's beast sends the horse right into a volley of arrows. It gets struck in the neck, without any of the protection of the Aes Sedai to keep them away. The animal lets out a shrill scream and stumbles, causing the Queen to jostle about a bit. A few more arrows hit the animal, causing it to stumble more. When it is unable to support its weight, it falls to the ground with a loud thudding noise that might be heard if not for the battle raging around them. Adelina appears to be knocked unconcious, having fallen hard, with the beast half trapping her as it flails about against the arrows.

Beside the Alguenya River: Being the general Kolvin must sit more or less in one place to direct the bulk of the aarmy, which is impossible from up front which is where he'd rather be. The men on both front of the Cairhienin army die, men from teh Savior's army die. Scream and gurgles are everywhere Kolvin says to his aid, "Now that he has engaged his pikemen with mine of that flank they won't be able to set themselves. Send out calvary and crush them." he commands his aid. Momentarily banners wave and thousands of calvarymen ride forth to circle around and drive towards the eatern flanks, intent on hitting the pikemen from the side now that they are engaged. Meanwhile his advantage on the valley front seems to be evening out a bit as the footmen finally crest, hopefully winded enough for the farmers and few professionals to kill a number of them. The battle has degenerated into three stoens grinding on each other and it is apparent taht the Cairhienin is the softer of the set though its rubs away the enemy's troops by the score as well.

Beside the Alguenya River: Briana brings her horse back and she rears with a sharp neigh. Briana dismounts quickly going to the Queen's aid. Unfortunately several arrows kill the beautiful dampled mares behind her as she does. Briana narrows ducks a bow shot herself. She kneels over the Queen checking for wounds and trying to rouse the fallen Monarch.

Beside the Alguenya River: Another sound sharply cuts into the air, a longhorn, deep and willowy. Kolvin and the others might recognize that sound to be that of the Andoran army, at least from the various reports the Queen has gathered and sent to those men needing to know down the line.

Beside the Alguenya River: The Queen does not rouse, though there are signs that she's still alive. Her horse's kicking lets stop after the arrows already within its body lodge more deeply, ripping apart more vital organs and causing more internal damage than any simple arrow wound would normally cause. Within its death, the Queen becomes definitely lodged beneath the animal. Those guardsman who were sent to protect her finally catch up. more than one of them cursing under their breath. "Can you give us aid, Aes Sedai?" One speaks up, already worried about what Lord Hargaves will do to him if he finds out, and he /will/ find out.

Beside the Alguenya River: Briana glances up at the men, "Keep those arrows of me I shall shall take care of this." That said Brian bows her head calming herself to surrender and embrace the source. Soon there is a tremble..then slowly..but surely the massive corpse of the horse is lifted as if by some unseen hand off of the fallen Queen. During this time Briana concentrates solely on her task letting the guardsmen do what they know best.

Beside the Alguenya River: The swordsmen from the valley continue to plague the Cairhienin. Some give pause at the new sound, even though they had been aware that Cairhien was expecting aid. Their surprise is surely their downfall, as those men are easily done away with. Yet, even still, there's a disturbance amonst the Savior's men. The Andoran's should not be here this soon! They were hours away, at their last scouting efforts! Or, was it that some spy among the Cairhienin got in and fed false information? Its enitrely possible. Yet even still, the Savior's men now fight on three fronts, from the north and east, and from the south, behind them.

Beside the Alguenya River: The pikemen continue the rush forward, and start engaging the armies. They die with the horses rounding the back, though more arrows are being shot, and aimed at the calvery. Those archers are well protected with swordsmen, though the burning forests from behind are caging them into one place.

Beside the Alguenya River: One of the guardsmen help Adelina from beneath the dead horse, as Briana pushes it up with unseen weaves of air. He seems almost fidgety around the use of the Power, and nervous that its being used near him. While his touch is light, any movement he causes the Queen to make has her moaning in pain, though its unavoided, at least on his part, if they mean to get her from underneath the large corpse. The other men around them work their very best to provide a wall of protection around the Aes Sedai and their fallen Queen. They also act as a shield, piling up around them, to keep the regular army men from seeing what just occured, and whats going on, so they don't lose heart.

Beside the Alguenya River: Briana looks furious suddenly at this situation and waves her arms sharply tossing the horse some ten feet away as if it were some rag doll. The she releases the power once more sinking to her knees looking very physically tired for the moment. She kneels over the Queen and looks her over carefully, "No do not move her now! Get a healer quickly..and hold this position protect your Queen!" Briana sounds harsh as the urgency and danger of the situation makes itself more and more apparent.

Beside the Alguenya River: "Signal the swordsmen on the eastern front to advance and pincer those last pikemen." Kolvin commands as he is surprised by how well his own army is holding together under such ugly odds. The swordsmen moments later are advancing of the enemy's pikemen, using shields to block clumsy attempts to stab at with the near ten foot long polearms and moving to far inside the weapons range to stab the wielder to death before moving on to the next. The valley front continues to hold steady, given the shock the Savior's men took and dozens of them died looking around stunned. The calvary rides down pikemen by teh score, swinging horse maces and long axes. Several of them fall from arrows, but the move fast and only fall due to luck of the draw rather than skill of the enemy's archers. "Send the reserves to the valley front, the eastern edge is under control for now." he commands.

Beside the Alguenya River: "Of course, Aes Sedai." One of the guarsdmen nods, and then rushes off to get his horse. He mounts the animal, and then rides for the camp

Beside the Alguenya River: "Of course, Aes Sedai." One of the guarsdmen nods, and then rushes off to get his horse. He mounts the animal, and then rides for the camp, post haste. The beast is not particularly fast, but not exactly slow either.

Beside the Alguenya River: Of course, some of those archers hit their own pikemen, not having that great aim from a distance. But they continue to fire about the horsemen, and the second wave moves forward. Those armed with swords and axes, and they move in protection of the archers and forward in the line. Not like they have much of a choice with the burning forest from behind. The savior's numbers begin to fall, but the pikemen fight well. Still, the caverly of Cairhien holds the advantage.

From the Cairhien Camp: Lyren heads over to the Tower camp.

From the Cairhien Camp: Lyren arrives from the Tower camp.

From the Cairhien Camp: Lyren heads toward the village.

Ashigaru Village: Lyren arrives from the direction of the Cairhien Base.

Ashigaru Village: Lyren heads toward the river.

Beside the Alguenya River: Lyren arrives from the direction of the village.

Beside the Alguenya River: Getting over their shock relatively easy, though not entirely in enough time, the others come back to their senses and start the battle with a renewed vigor. This time, they're fighting for more than their lives, but their livelihood as well. All that they know is being threatened. Of course, something else odd then does happen. Some of the Savior's men, in the ranks below still, start fighting some of their own men! The odds have turned rather interesting, as Savior fights Savior, as well as Cairhienin and Andoran. In the back, the sounds of battle rage, as the Andoran troops attempt to overtake those reinforcing the small number of men sent to dispose of the Cairhien army, so sure that they would have fallen by now.

Beside the Alguenya River: Briana kneels besides the fallen Queen. She carefully checks the other woman's wound without trying to move her.

Beside the Alguenya River: The guardsman returns, but not in short order. The medics that he brings with him have brought a gurney as well. Getting back to the camp will be no easy trip for the Queen, if she'll even make it that far. They drop down to the ground, stretching out the gurney, and then start to go to work. "If you'll please excuse us, we need some space." One tries to clear out some of the others surrounding the Queen, only to be met with stubborn guardsmen not wanting to abandon their post. After a small bit of time, do some move away, allowing those caring for the Queen to get her on the gurney, even if in pain, so that they can carry her. When that is done, the medics pick up the handles and walk toward the camp, with the Royal Guard following and surrounding, to ensure Adelina remains as protected as possible.

Beside the Alguenya River: Its nearly impossible to 'fight well' with a pike. They're too long, too heavy and too unwieldy to do much more than set for charges. Whomever sent them forth truly was desperate or had little concept of what a pike could be used for. The horsemen over run them easily, too fast and too deadly when teh pike don't have a line to set themselves on the swordsmen amongst teh foolish pike make a butchery of the battle, even given that many of them aren't very skilled the enemy just has teh wrong tools for the job. Kolvin commands. "Have the calvary reform and charge the eastern swordsmen." he explains with a frown on his lips, now really only worried heavily about the valley flank where the Savior's men and his are more or less evenly matched and putting each other to death liberally. Soon the calvary has reformed into several blocks and the ground rumbles as the charge the eastern flank of teh Savior's army. Again, swordsmen and archers are poorly equipped to deal with heavy, quick horses that are intent on trampling them.

Beside the Alguenya River: Briana stands walksing with the medics, "You be careful with her." She scolds the men as they go her attention devoted to the woman she was sent to advise.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana heads back into the camp with the Queen and medics. She points sharply to the Aes Sedai tents, "Take her there NOW.."

From the Cairhien Camp: The camp is a bustle of people being carried into tents, the healers busy attending those most seriously wounded, while the moans of the wounded rise up here and there. Valdan is in the main tent, bent over a cot, with a glass containing some light red liquid whcih he encourages a soldier to drink.

Beside the Alguenya River: The Cairhienin army truly makes little effort to give chase and Kolvin doesn't allow them to, knowing that they will be butchered without discipline. However the archers continue to fire on the fleeing army and where the enemy stands and fightst here are dozens of Cairhienin waiting to bury a sword in their gullet to make the day end. "Signal the horsemen to ride down anyone they see fleeing. We'll make a butchery of it so that they don't come back any day soon." he commands and the thus the order is given and the calvary rides forth. (re)

From the Cairhien Camp: The medic carrying the Queen frowns a bit, looking over at his partner. "The Queen has her own medics and attendants." What he says is true, she brought some of her own staff with her when coming. They balk, slightly, looking uncertain. "She should be put with them, where she's most comfortable."

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana says "I will take her there..and she will be healed and returned to you as well as our best Yellow Sisters can make her. What better healing could you offer? Now please take her there."

Beside the Alguenya River: Several of the Savior's retreating men are cut down by the Cairhienin cavalry, while others continue to offer cover and return fire for their allies, attempting to get them out of this particular territory. The horn sounds again, almost more desparate than before. There's sounds of cheering in the background, mixed with whooping and hollaring of all sorts. The Andoran's have those camping on the run, maybe?

From the Cairhien Camp: There is still some indecision within the men who bring carry the woman in the gurney, yet at the same time there is fear. "Walking her any further may very well kill her. You saw her injuries. Its best we put her down now. The Aes Sedai can come here if they want to see her well." There is almost pleading in the man's voice. Its true, Adelina's injuries are extensive.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana nods, "yes here is fine. "

From the Cairhien Camp: Relief colors the eyes of the men. They set Adelina down on a nearby table. One waits to watch over her, while another disappears into the main tent to confer with Valdan, letting him know what they found.

Beside the Alguenya River: Lyren doesn't stick around to handle running down any reatreating foes... though he is mounted and with a detachment of Tigriil soldiers, he has more important matters to attend to. Namely, his sister. News of her falling reaches him only now, the messenger having had to head into the fight to get to him.. (not that he was in a particularily bloody part... like he'd be allowed to be in any more danger than the queen herself).. Knowing Adelina's injured only one thought occupies his mind. Reaching her side. So he barks a few orders to the closest men and wheels his horse about, heading back through the lines of troops towards the camp.. in the general direction he's been told she was taken.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana runs up the hill to the tower camp and is gone for about five minutes before returning with two Yellow Ajah sisters. One of them looks quite scandalized as Briana is actually pulling her by the arm the entire way. "Hurry up! she down here..move your feet!"

Beside the Alguenya River: Looking at his aide Kolvin nods his head for a moment, "You can sound the victory call now." he says very simply and evenly. "Today Cairhien and its allies have done what was impossible, we have defeated the Savior's army." Kolvin sits astride his huge, beastly horse amidst the Cairhien army as the horns sound the victory blasts and a huge, deafening cheer rises from the thousands upon thousands of Cairhienin left standing after the battle. Turning his horse, "See to teh clean up details." he explains and with that the Filderryn lord begins to ride through the ranks towards the camp. Many men reach to touch him gratefully and he simply nods to the all as he rides through.

From the Cairhien Camp: Valdan is already attending the queen by the time anyone else can get there, having come from where he was immediately. Leaning over the queen, his practiced hands are seeking out her wounds, checking for broken bones, and internal injuries. His face is set like brown stone, unemotional.. numb almost. Light burn his 'gift'.

From the Cairhien Camp: There's a painfilled expression on the Queen's face. There are times when Adelina elicits a moan of pain, as Valdan pokes and prodes, attempting to find out just how bad her injuries are. Just looking at her, one would know that they're very serious. Her legs appear to be almost crushed, and likely beyond repair. When thrashing about, the horse did a thorough job, nearly claiming part of her lower torso as well. How she's managed to live through being carried this far is anyone's guess. Blood stains the Queen's garments, those soft woolen britches, and matching blouse. She shivers in the cold, an unconcious action as the wind bites into her.

From the Cairhien Camp: The Yellow sister look over the Queen with worried faces each taking and look then shaking thier heads. Briana sighs and nods. One of the sisters heads back to the tower camp while the younger one stays watching Valdan's efforts.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana Stands up and snaps at the guard, "YOU boy..get the Queen's Brother here immediately." She snaps her fingers and points towards the battlefield.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana moves close to Valdan, "You must try to keep her with us long enough to speak with her brother. Can you do that?"

From the Cairhien Camp: Valdan's green eyes flick to the yellow sisters, ignoring the looks on their faces, but doubtless noting them. His touches are very light, not really fit to be called prods, but they must feel that way to his crushed monarch. "Water, bring me a glass of water." A motion of his wrist to one of the assisting healers sends the young woman scurrying, and Valdan does not seem to register Briana's instructions for a moment, so intent is he on his work. "She bleeds within, her organs are crushed." he murmurs by way of answer.

From the Cairhien Camp: The guardsman blinks and nods, snapping to attention. "Yes ma'am." With that he gets a horse and moves out to where the battle purportedly took place to retreive Lyren.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana leans over the Queen and speaks softly, "You lead the army to thier greatest Victory..the Savior is defeated and your name will be remembered in song and story. Adelina the warrior Queen..." Briana smiles sadly brushing some hair gently from Adelina's face.

From the Cairhien Camp: Valencia arrives from the Tower camp.

Beside the Alguenya River: Kolvin heads toward the village.

Ashigaru Village: Kolvin arrives from the direction of the Alguenya River.

Ashigaru Village: Kolvin heads toward the Cairhien Base.

From the Cairhien Camp: Kolvin arrives from the direction of the village.

Beside the Alguenya River: Lyren heads toward the village.

Ashigaru Village: Lyren arrives from the direction of the Alguenya River.

Ashigaru Village: Lyren heads toward the Cairhien Base.

From the Cairhien Camp: Lyren arrives from the direction of the village.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana leans over the Queen comforting her while waiting for the Duke to arrive.

From the Cairhien Camp: Valdan's jaw tightens, steeling himself against the onrushing of emotions even the best healers feel when.... Adelina's condition is dire. The glass of water is brought, and he takes it and drops several drops from one of the vials stored in his pocket. The glass is brought to the queen's lips. "Drink this your Majesty, I pray. It will stop some of the bleeding.. and dull some of the pain." The half saldaean lord's voice is gentle, his manner quiet and intense.

From the Cairhien Camp: Sitting on a table, out in the cold, is the Queen upon a stretcher. It is clear that her own injuries are rather extensive, having been crushed by an animal, as some might have glimpsed or heard on the way back from the battle. Valdan is doing his best to make her comfortable, while two Yellow Sisters watch over her; a knowing look in their eye.

From the Cairhien Camp: Valencia rides toward the camp from the general direction of the Tower camp, though Light knows she wasn't anywhere to be found when Healers were sent for. Where could she have been? Regardless, she is approaching now and dismounts nearby, tossing the reins to the man who rode out with her. A Gaidin, most likely, though from the looks of him he might have been sent with the Andoran forces. Holding up her skirts so that they do not become soiled, she approaches where her Sisters are gathered with her usual expressionless countenance.

From the Cairhien Camp: The sound of thundering hooves (Okay, well, not quite thundering) announces Lyren's arrival.. as could be expected he vaults from the horse without even waiting to bring it to a complete stop. Too much of a hurry for he stumbles to a knee but pays it no mind before he gets back up again and races towards stretcher. The look on his face is.. well.. pure anguish.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana reaches a firm grip to Lyren's shoulder, "Gently Your Grace..gently.." That said she moves behind him now and folds her hands behind her back.

From the Cairhien Camp: Adelina stirs enough to take the elixir that Valdan stirs for her. The water dribbles down her chin and cheek as she coughs some of it back up. She's half aware of her condition, and of those people about her.

From the Cairhien Camp: "Oh light no.." Lyren whispers, crawling the last few feet to the Queen's side. He reaches for her, seeming heedless of the presence of any other.. but perhaps some of the Aes Sedai's warning comes through for he doesn't quite touch her. Almost as though afraid the slightest touch might shake her loose from what seems to be a very slight hold on life itself. "Adelina?"

From the Cairhien Camp: Valdan leans over to the same assistant who fetched the water to whisper something about blankets and the girl disappears again. Valdan gently reaches to wipe some of the light red liquid from the queen's chin, his expression grave, and moving to her brother as he approaches. A broken crown seems fixed before his eyes, invisible to all others, yet even with his eyes closed, he can still see it, burned in his mind, like so many other visions before. His stomach feels like clammy rock.

From the Cairhien Camp: Arriving beside the Yellows already on the scene, Valencia surveys the scene in silence. The Yellows glance between one another briefly before one leans over to murmur quietly to Valencia, who gives a slight nod of acknowledgement. Flicking her glance to her Sisters, Valencia murmurs a quiet reply. The pair open their mouths as though they would reply... but instead press their lips together and turn, walking away to head back to the Tower camp.

From the Cairhien Camp: Hearing her name, the Queen stirs again. She seems more aware of her surroundings now, the conconction she just drank helping some with that. The drink gives her warmth, and allows for her to focus a bit better. "L... Lyr... Lyren?" The words forming on her tongue sound odd, if not slurred, as though she's having trouble concentrating still.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana turns to face Valencia and walks to her side.

From the Cairhien Camp: Thad comes rushing onto the scene, yellow eyes sharp and always moving. He all but muscles his way nearer the Queen, but is sure to not intrude on any private moments or get in the way of Healers.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana whispers to Valcenia, "It would be better if they stayed to not make it appear we gave up on her."

From the Cairhien Camp: "Adelina.." The name is uttered more like a relieved sigh than an actual word, and Lyren's face smooths out a bit.. whether from genuine relief or from a forced face of bravery.. "Adelina... you're okay.." Okay? Hm. Perhaps the Duke took too many blows to the head himself. Or maybe he's trying to be brave for Adelina. Or maybe for himself.

From the Cairhien Camp: The sharp sound of a blanket being forcefully unfurled can be heard as Valdan takes the blanket from the girl who fetched it, a woman with large brown eyes and a plain face. Valdan moves back in carefully between the assortment gathered around her and covers the fallen monarch with the blanket, hiding her bloodied clothing, and her crushed and broken form.

From the Cairhien Camp: Kolvin finally arrives on the scene from the fields, dusty but otherwise unhurt. Tieing his horse outside carefully he rubs its neck and then makes his way to the Queen's tent, opening the flap quietly and making his way inside with the rare, serious face still intact as he looks around at the glum faces and the singular broken body of Adelina.

From the Cairhien Camp: Valencia looks to Briana as the Red aproaches, tilting her head slightly as she listens to Briana's whispered words. She replies, her voice equally low, "If there is nothing to be done, there is nothing to be done. There are plenty of wounded who -can- be helped, best that they see to them. It is how the Queen would want it, I'm sure."

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana nods simply.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana whispers to Valencia, "She was too young I feel for her. I hope the next ruler here will be stronger however and perhaps more friendly to us."

From the Cairhien Camp: Thad glances for only a moment at the exchange between Sedai. He scowls at Briana at the last comment and then turns to Adelina and Lyren. He asks simply, "Is there anything I can do?" seemingly to no one, and everyone.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana nods to Valencia and whispers a final remark, "I should find out how the battle is going."

From the Cairhien Camp: Valencia twitches her cloak absently, quirking a brow at Briana's first words but offering no reply. To the second, she offers, "The battle is over, the Savior's remaining forces in retreat."

From the Cairhien Camp: Slowly, with a bit of effort, Adelina raises a hand, reaching out for Lyren's own. "Yes... brother." She manages a smile, even through the pain, "everything is okay." She coughs a bit more, "Take care of Nessa?" She's well aware of her own condition, and how badly off she really is. Her one request, to make sure her daughter is well cared for.

From the Cairhien Camp: Kolvin looks at Lyren for a moment and pinches his lips for a moment, "You should tell her that we have triumphed. She should know, it will make her happier." he says in his easy tenor voice, looking at the Sedai for a moment. Given that he's the only one who hjas official news to report on the matter.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana says "I told her already..I am not sure she heard me.."

From the Cairhien Camp: Replying with all seriousness, "Having known you less than a month, I somehow doubt your lips are nearly so valuable to her than her own brother." Kolvin explains in utter honesty. It seems, sometimes, the Sedai forget that most people prefer to feel rather than make pretense at being above emotion.

From the Cairhien Camp: Lyren hardly even glances at Kolvin, but his following words certainly indicate he heard the man. "Of course.. now that you've won us this victory, you'll be up to your crown in dignitaries and official palace work... I'll be more than happy to watch Nessa for you." There is definately a tremor to his voice, and he finally gives in to his urge and reaches for the Queen's arm, closing his fingers around it.. gently of course. "They Aes Sedai.. they will have you on your feet in a matter of days. If not hours, knowing you."

From the Cairhien Camp: Valdan never stops doing things for the dying queen, as the Sedai confer, and her advisors approach and attempt to speak with her, her brother puts on a brave face and others stand around with long faces. His lips are pressed together sharply, like a man losing something he valued. He'll attend the queen and pray the light for her life until there is no life to pray for. If only he had been to her earlier, given the herbals earlier, there might have been some hope.

From the Cairhien Camp: Valencia tilts her head slightly, remaining silent before her gaze flicks from Briana to Kolvin and back again. Those ice blue eyes come to rest upon Kolvin for a long moment, regarding him in silence.

From the Cairhien Camp: Thad simply stands there, face appearing as chisled rock. His yellow eyes are locked on the Queen and he says nothing more. It almost appears he is willing the Queen better.

From the Cairhien Camp: The Queen does see Thad, not far off. Remembering him, and his service to the crown, she makes a small motion of her head to him, beckoning him over. As she awaits his arrival closer, she looks back to Lyren. "You and she... you'll be good for her, li... like you were for me." If she's aware of any of the bickering going on about her, she doesn't seem to notice it, hanging onto the important things, like family, at this time. Her eyes briefly catch on Valdan, an unspoken thanks there for his work and effort in this task.

From the Cairhien Camp: Thad moves nearer the Queen, dropping to a knee before her... possibly the only time he's ever done that, in fact. "My Queen?" he asks quietly, waiting to see what she might say.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana stands there like a statue watch the dying Queen/girl. She sniffles a bit and wipes her eye in a furtive motion that would be missed by most. Perhaps that Aes Sedai aloofness is not so perfect as many think. Or perhaps its cold out and Briana has a sniffle...perhaps?

From the Cairhien Camp: Lyren nearly shakes his head.. it starts as a movement, but he stops it. If he even allows himself to think... "Of course I will.. I.." Words trail off as Thad arrives, and Lyren shoots him a look.. initially one of anger that this moment with his sister be stolen from him, but once he sees who it is and remembers Adelina motioning for him to approach, Lyren calms down, forcing a swallow and returning his gaze to the Queen's face.

From the Cairhien Camp: Thanks seem almost an accusation to the young lord attending the Queen's wounds, and Valdan's eyes remain with the Queen's while they meet his, apologising for his role as the harbinger of this tragedy. His whole effort seems now just to be in making the Queen as comfortable as possible.

From the Cairhien Camp: It takes a moment or two before Adelina can speak again, some of her energy reserves leaving her as she coughs some more; likely due to her internal injuries. "You did the crown the service asked of you...." She gasps lightly, furrowing her brow as she tries to get out her words, completely, "you're request is granted. You may marry your mistress." She looks to Lyren, eyes imploring him. "See to it that he is wed properly, to the women of his choice."

From the Cairhien Camp: to the /woman/ of his choice =P

From the Cairhien Camp: Thad smiles and says to Adelina, "Thank you, your Majesty. Though I must say, I intend for you to be the one who marries Teres and I. You must know by now I am most stubborn and must admit, I will be satisfied with nothing but Queen Adelina." A small, but reassuring smile is offered and he says, "If there is anything else you require," a glance to Lyren and one for Valdan, "... I am at your service as always."

From the Cairhien Camp: Moments stretch as Valencia regards Kolvin unblinkingly, her cool gaze boring into him for a long time before at last her attention flicks to the sniffling Briana beside her. Producing a pristine white lace-edged handkerchief from the folds of her cloak, she hands it wordlessly to her Sister as her gaze moves once more to regard the dying Queen.

From the Cairhien Camp: Lyren gives a single nod, recalling the request... "Whatever it takes, 'Del." The Duke forces himself not to lose hope.. the healer, after all, if he remains doing what he can, that means there must be some hope, right? right?

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana takes the hanky and uses it swiftly returning it with a nod to Valencia.

From the Cairhien Camp: Valencia waves a hand as Briana offers the handkerchief back, indicating that she should keep the item.

From the Cairhien Camp: "Of course, I'll be there." Adelina plays along with Thad, then shakes her head, "No... there's nothing else." She gently squeezes Lyren's hand, the movement weak, turning her attention back to her brother. "Tired... must rest." She explains to him, as her eyes start to droop.

From the Cairhien Camp: Kolvin seems unfazed by the hard eyed Sedai. She can't hurt him unless he gives her cause to do so and he's seen much meaner looking creatures when he served as a Blight scout for several years. Steepling his longs fingers quietly as he watches the ongoing faucett works in here. He gives the two Sedai a curious look.

From the Cairhien Camp: Valdan is a stubborn actionary young man, there is hope until the body is dead, and even then he might venture to hope, but inside himself, the ground help by hope is being slowly beaten back on the field. He takes the glass again and brings it to Adelina's lips, "Majesty.. another sip.. please.. you must not sleep.. try to stay awake a bit longer.." he murmurs near the queen's ear, ever gentle.

From the Cairhien Camp: Those eyes open a bit, brought about by Valdan's words. "Will try..." Adelina promises, attempting to lift her head a bit to sip at the water, though having difficulty doing so.

From the Cairhien Camp: "Listen to him, Adelina.. you might be the Queen, but he's in charge here.. you do what he says.. " Lyren doesn't let go of Adelina's hand, his gaze so intense it must seem like he is trying to will her to health. "Just this once, at least.."

From the Cairhien Camp: Thad rises and steps to the background once more. The force of his will, though, does not decrease. Light, if only Will could translate into reality.

From the Cairhien Camp: Mean-looking? Valencia? Nah. Intimidating? Most seem to think so. Those that don't are usually quite foolish. And while the Oaths may forbid the use of the One Power as a weapon, do not Novices get switched with Air? It's been a long time since Valencia had cause to switch a General... but the night is young, after all.

From the Cairhien Camp: Valdan is careful, letting just a dribble trickle into Adelina's mouth, the additional stimulant in the elixir his last attempt to keep the woman in the world just a bit longer. "There we go, that's good.." He soothes.

From the Cairhien Camp: When she's done sipping at the glass of water, she takes a moment to regard Valdan. She then, weakly, reaches out to take one of his hands and holds it, ensuring she can see them both. "Important." She gives Lyren one of those looks, to ensure he listens. "Must be friends... same... you two." Her words may be hard to follow, but there's some sense to them should one delve deeply enough. Though, how they are the same, one might not know entirely.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana steps forward looking at Adelina. She sighs softly.

From the Cairhien Camp: The same? Reality is finally beginning to sink in.. or perhaps it's that fear is starting to win over.. in the end it doesn't matter for either way it leaves Lyren's face looking somewhat more anguished than before. "The same? 'Del.. shh. You can explain tomorrow.. "

From the Cairhien Camp: A look of recognition dawns slowly in the young noble healer's expression, as well as clear surprise, though perhaps only he and Adelina know from whence it springs. Perhaps her brother understands too. Valdan leans down close to Adelina and murmurs something to her that sounds like, "Majesty, forgive me..." For what? being the messenger carrying an unwelcome missive from the future perhaps? Then he spares a glance at the Duke, wondering if the man also knows.

From the Cairhien Camp: Looking around for a moment the swordsman in the black leathers comments in a simple and qiet voice, "It might be best if we left now." Kolvin's smooth, curiously accented voice comments to everyone and then he turns himself and slips beneath the tent's entrance gracefully.

From the Cairhien Camp: "Tomorrow..." Adelina agrees, her words spoken very softly. And, while the elixir might be strong enough to help her hold onto the world, her body just isn't. Its as though agreeing with Lyren is a signal for her to close her eyes and sleep, to await the new day and discuss these sorts of things. As Valdan whispers to her, she shakes her head, showing she's aware for at least a few moments yet, sleep not taking her over. "No apologies. Not needed." And with that, her awareness seems to dim, her breathing slowed, until there is one last, final breath.

From the Cairhien Camp: Kolvan's words roll off of Lyren's shredded cloak (Er, yeah, he is in uniform folks, honest.. haven't had time to change his clothing desc).. it will likely take a couple of armed men to get him out of here any time soon. "Adelina..." So it's come to this.. the inability to say anything besides her name, over and over..

From the Cairhien Camp: Valencia watches in silence until it is done, regardless of Kolvin's suggestion, then gathers up handfulls of her skirt once more and starts off in the direction where horse and attendant stand waiting. Mounting smoothly, she re-takes the reins and nudges her mount to a trot. The pair head back in the direction of the Tower camp.

From the Cairhien Camp: Briana glances over watching the other Aes Sedai go. She turns back to the Queen then walks forward and very gently rubs the Queen's cheek. The she turns masking all emotions behind an aloof expression and walks out.

From the Cairhien Camp: Valencia heads over to the Tower camp.

From the Cairhien Camp: Lyren can't let go of Adelina.. at this point, it's near a physical impossibility. "Tomorrow.." The word, supposed to represent the Duke's hope, sounds empty... he looks up and over at Valdan.. a silent plea for some miracle.. some sign that she is truly only sleeping. Despite the wounds and lack of breathing..

From the Cairhien Camp: Valdan still has one of the Queen's hands when her eyes close for the very last time, and takes what is probably an overly loud breath, before he straightens, chewing his lip, and carefully places Adelina's still warm hand by her side. The blanket is carefully rearranged as well, as the healer covers her lifeless face with the utmost respect, "There is nothing more I can do, my Prince..she is gone." Words whispered for the Duke only. No matter that the dark haired lord worked till the end, it was of no avail.

From the Cairhien Camp: Lyren lets out a breath that sounds much like Adelina's last... though of course his chest keeps moving. "Why.. the Aes Sedai.." He almost shoots the remaining Aes Sedai a glance.. it can't be hard to imagine his question. He's not the only one who's lost a loved one, after all, with an Aes Sedai nearby. But he doesn't put it to words. "I... I will stay with her tonight."
